Los médicos de Antonio Maceo Grajales en diferentes etapas de su vida / Antonio Maceo Grajales's doctors in different periods of his life

RESUMEN

El lugarteniente general Antonio Maceo Grajales sufrió múltiples heridas en las diferentes contiendas, asimismo fue objeto de un atentado en Costa Rica y padeció otras enfermedades. En el presente artículo se reseñan, de forma historiográfica, los médicos que cuidaron su salud Félix Figueredo Díaz, el primero que lo curó en circunstancias muy especiales, cuando el Titán de Bronce recibió ocho heridas en el combate de Mangos de Mejía; Eusebio Hernández Pérez, doctor de la familia Maceo, con el cual sostuvo una profunda amistad; Guillermo Fernández Mascaró, quien lo atendió por presentar trastornos digestivos, y Hugo Roberts Fernández, que le cuidó durante un tiempo más prolongado. Igualmente se señalan aspectos relacionados con Máximo Zertucha Ojeda, el último médico que lo asistió, y algunos datos interesantes sobre otros galenos que también contribuyeron a mantener su salud(AU)

ABSTRACT

The general lieutenant Antonio Maceo Grajales suffered from multiple injuries in the different wars, also it was object of an assassination atempt in Costa Rica and he suffered from other diseases. In this work, the doctors that took care of his health are pointed out in a historiographic way Félix Figueredo Díaz, the first one that treated him in very special circumstances, when el Titan de Bronce received eight wounds in Mangos de Mejía combat; Eusebio Hernández Pérez, Maceo´s family doctor, with whom he sustained a strong friendship; Guillermo Fernández Mascaró who assisted him due to digestive disorders, and Hugo Roberts Fernández that took care of him during a longer time. Also, aspects related to Maximo Zertucha Ojeda, the last doctor that assisted him, and some interesting data on other physicians that also contributed to maintain his health are pointed out(AU)
