ABSTRACT
The aim of this study is to discuss Bernstein's contributions to the study of biomechanics of human movement and motor learning based on the importance of the interactions between external and internal forces and the cerebelar learning processes. A literature review is presentes in order to show how the formulation of the Bernstein's Problem has led to a better understanding of the coordination of movements. Central and peripheric solution strategies to this problem are discussed.
