RESUMO

Order selection of autoregressive processes is an active research topic in time series analysis, and the development and evaluation of automatic order selection criteria remains a challenging task for domain experts. We propose a visual analytics approach, to guide the analysis and development of such criteria. A flexible synthetic model generator-combined with specialized responsive visualizations-allows comprehensive interactive evaluation. Our fast framework allows feedback-driven development and fine-tuning of new order selection criteria in real-time. We demonstrate the applicability of our approach in three use-cases for two general as well as a real-world example.

O estudo avaliou a frequência da síndrome pré-menstrual (SPM) e do transtorno disfórico pré-menstrual (TDPM) e fatores associados entre estudantes de cursos da área de saúde em uma universidade no Recife, Brasil. Realizou-se um corte transversal envolvendo 649 estudantes entre 18 e 47 anos, no período de setembro/2016 a março/2017. As estudantes que aceitaram participar do estudo e assinaram o termo de consentimento livre e esclarecido responderam a um questionário autoaplicável com dados sociodemográficos, hábitos de vida e antecedentes ginecológicos, bem como questões relacionadas aos critérios diagnósticos de SPM/TDPM. A maioria das estudantes tinha entre 18 e 24 anos (83,2%), era solteira (92,1%), morava com os pais (77,0%) e não trabalhava (84,4%). A frequência de SPM simples foi de 23,3% e da TDPM, de 26,7%. Os sinais e sintomas físicos foram os mais frequentes (84,1%) entre as estudantes com SPM. As 173 estudantes com TDPM relataram como sintomas mais frequentes a irritabilidade (89,6%) e a ansiedade (87,3%) acentuadas. O teste de qui-quadrado foi utilizado para comparar as proporções entre os fatores associados à SPM e ao TDPM, considerando p < 0,05. Os fatores de risco que tiveram associação estatística com a ocorrência de SPM/TDPM foram o índice de massa corporal (IMC) < 25 (p = 0,01) e irregularidade dos ciclos (p = 0,04).(AU)


This study evaluated the frequency of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) and associated factors among university students in health courses in Recife, Brazil. A cross-sectional study was carried out involving 649 students aged 18 to 47 years between September 2016 and March 2017. Students who agreed to participate in the study and signed a free informed consent form, was invited to answer a self-administered questionnaire with socio-demographic data, lifestyle and gynecological history, as well as issues related to the diagnostic criteria of PMS/PMDD. Most students were between 18 and 24 years old (83.2%), single (92.1%), living with parents (77.0%) and did not have a job (84.4%). The frequency of simple PMS was 23.3% and PMDD was 26.7%. Physical signs and symptoms were the most frequent (84.1%) among students with PMS. The 173 students with PMDD reported more frequent symptoms of irritability (89.6%) and anxiety (87.3%). The Pearson chi-square test was used to compare the proportions of the factors associated with PMS and PMDD, considering p < 0.05. BMI < 25 (p = 0.01) and cycle irregularity (p = 0.04) were the factors who had a statistically significant association with the occurrence of PMS/PMDD.(AU)

The scope of this article is to analyze the National Health Promotion Policy with respect to the implementation of core management priorities. Information contained in institutional documents, websites, books and published articles was consulted in order to analyze the actions implemented. There were advances in management, such as the creation of a specific budget line, insertion of the promotion in the Multi-Year Plan, monitoring of indicators of health promotion in the federal pacts, financing of health promotion projects in municipalities and the creation of health promotion programs. Evaluation of physical activity programs was conducted that revealed the effectiveness of the programs. Intersectorial actions taken were relevant, in particular coordination with the Education, Justice, Cities, Human Rights, Social Development, Sports and Leisure sectors, among others. Regulatory actions have been implemented such as the Drink and Drive ban and no smoking environments. Advances were observed, especially greater emphasis on health promotion in the health sector agenda as well as partnerships as intersectorial actions, identifying inequities in the area seeking reduction thereof, in addition to the sustainability of health promotion actions.

Generation of synthetic datasets is a common practice in many research areas. Such data is often generated to meet specific needs or certain conditions that may not be easily found in the original, real data. The nature of the data varies according to the application area and includes text, graphs, social or weather data, among many others. The common process to create such synthetic datasets is to implement small scripts or programs, restricted to small problems or to a specific application. In this paper we propose a framework designed to generate high dimensional datasets. Users can interactively create and navigate through multi dimensional datasets using a suitable graphical user-interface. The data creation is driven by statistical distributions based on a few user-defined parameters. First, a grounding dataset is created according to given inputs, and then structures and trends are included in selected dimensions and orthogonal projection planes. Furthermore, our framework supports the creation of complex non-orthogonal trends and classified datasets. It can successfully be used to create synthetic datasets simulating important trends as multidimensional clusters, correlations and outliers.

Visual exploration of multivariate data typically requires projection onto lower dimensional representations. The number of possible representations grows rapidly with the number of dimensions, and manual exploration quickly becomes ineffective or even unfeasible. This paper proposes automatic analysis methods to extract potentially relevant visual structures from a set of candidate visualizations. Based on features, the visualizations are ranked in accordance with a specified user task. The user is provided with a manageable number of potentially useful candidate visualizations, which can be used as a starting point for interactive data analysis. This can effectively ease the task of finding truly useful visualizations and potentially speed up the data exploration task. In this paper, we present ranking measures for class-based as well as non-class-based scatterplots and parallel coordinates visualizations. The proposed analysis methods are evaluated on different data sets.

A Política Nacional de Promoção da Saúde (PNPS) foi publicada em 2006 e foram definidos sete eixos prioritários de ação. Objetivou-se descrever a implementação do eixo prática corporal/atividade física no contexto da Política Nacional de Promoção da Saúde (PNPS). Foram consultadas informações contidas em portarias, documentos institucionais, sites, livros e artigos publicados visando analisar as ações implementadas segundo os seguintes eixos analisadores transversais: fortalecimento da promoção da saúde no SUS; articulação intersetorial e parcerias; promoção da atividade física/práticas corporais no território; avaliação e monitoramento. Quanto ao fortalecimento da promoção a saúde no SUS foi criada linha orçamentária específica, bem como a inserção da promoção no Plano Plurianual e o monitoramento de indicadores da Promoção da Saúde nos pactos federativos. Foi organizada a Vigilância de fatores de risco e proteção de doenças crônicas, o que possibilitou o monitoramento de indicadores da prática de atividade física por meio de inquéritos populacionais. Realizado o financiamento de projetos municípios de atividade física em cerca de 1.500 municípios entre 2005 e 2010. Em 2011 foi criado o Programa Academia da Saúde, com estrutura física e incentivo à atividades comunitárias ligadas à promoção da saúde. Observou-se avanços na avaliação de efetividade dos programas de atividade física, contanto com a parceria entre Universidades brasileiras, americanas, OPAS, CDC e Ministério da Saúde. As ações intersetoriais foram relevantes, em especial a articulação com os setores de Esporte/Lazer e Educação. Foram contabilizados inúmeros avanços e dentre os desafios futuros destaca-se o processo de revisão da PNPS, com a manutenção da atividade física entre as prioridades do setor e, a implantação e fortalecimento do Programa Academia da Saúde no país.


The National Policy for the Promotion of Health was published in 2006 and seven action priority defined. This study aimed to describe the practical implementation of physical activity in the context of the Health Promotion Policy. Information contained in laws, institutional documents, websites, books and published articles were consulted in order to analyze the actions taken. The following aspects were analyzed; strengthening health promotion; Intersectoral coordination and partnerships, promotion of physical activity in the territory; strengthening monitoring and evaluation of health promotion. Regarding the strengthening of health promotion in the National Health System (SUS) was created specific budget to health promotion, monitoring indicators of health promotion in the federal pacts, organize Surveillance of risk and protective factors for chronic diseases, monitoring indicators of physical activity through surveys has been organized. The financing of municipalities' physical activity projects occurred in 1,500 municipalities 2005 to 2010. In 2011 was created the Health Academy Program, with infrastructure and encouraging community to practice physical activities. There was progress in evaluating the effectiveness of physical activity programs, as long as the partnership between Brazilian American Universities, PAHO, CDC and Ministry of Health. Intersectoral action were relevant, particularly with the sectors of Sport / Recreation and Education. Advances have been recorded and among the future challenges highlight the process of reviewing the Health Promotion Policy with the maintenance of physical activity among the priorities, and the establishment and strengthening of the Health Academy Program.

O objetivo deste artigo é analisar a Política Nacional de Promoção da Saúde (PNPS) quanto à implementação de eixos prioritários de gestão. Foram consultadas informações contidas em portarias, documentos institucionais, sites, livros e artigos publicados visando analisar as ações implementadas. Houve avanços na gestão como a criação de linha orçamentária específica, a inserção da promoção no Plano Plurianual, monitoramento de indicadores da Promoção da Saúde nos pactos federativos, o financiamento de projetos de Promoção da Saúde em municípios e a criação de programas de Promoção da Saúde. Foram realizadas avaliações de programas de atividade física que apontaram a efetividade dos programas. Ações intersetoriais implementadas foram relevantes, em especial a articulação com os setores de Educação, Justiça, Cidades, Direitos Humanos, Desenvolvimento Social, Esporte e Lazer, dentre outros. Ações regulatórias foram implementadas, como a Lei "Seca" e a lei de ambientes livres de tabaco. Foram observados avanços e pontuamos o fortalecimento da Promoção da Saúde na agenda do setor saúde, aprofundamento nas parcerias e nas ações intersetoriais, a identificação das iniquidades no território visando sua redução, bem como a sustentabilidade das ações de Promoção da Saúde.
