RESUMO

Dry tubers of Pinellia ternata (Thunb.) Breit are used in traditional Chinese medicine. Commonly known as "banxia" in China, the tubers contain valuable compounds, including alkaloids and polysaccharides that are widely used in pharmaceuticals. The quantity and quality of these important compounds are affected by whether P. ternata is grown as a sole crop or as an intercrop, and P. ternata cultivation has become challenging in recent years. By intercropping P. ternata, its maximum yield, as well as large numbers of chemical components, can be realized. Here, a large data set derived from next-generation sequencing was used to compare changes in the bacterial communities in rhizosphere soils of P. ternata and maize grown as sole crops and as intercrops. The overall microbial population in the rhizosphere of intercropped P. ternata was significantly larger than that of sole-cropped P. ternata, whereas the numbers of distinct microbial genera, ranging from 552 to 559 among treatments, were not significantly different between the two rhizospheres. The relative abundances of the genera differed. Specifically, the numbers of Acidobacteria and Anaerolineaceae species were significantly greater, and those of Bacillus were significantly lower, in the intercropped P. ternata rhizosphere than in the sole-cropped rhizosphere. RESUMO

Discipline evaluation is an important measure to promote the virtuous circle of discipline construction, and is an indispensable link in the process of discipline development in public hospitals. After becoming a directly affiliated hospital of a " double first-class" university, in order to improve the comprehensive strength and influence, a hospital built and applied a disciplinary evaluation system in four directions: talent construction, clinical medicine, scientific research ability, and teaching work. According to the evaluation results, the hospital′s disciplines were divided into three categories, namely, advantageous disciplines, cultivating disciplines and potential disciplines, and development strategies were established at different levels, providing policy support and financial support, especially in the field of scientific research and teaching, to accelerate to make up for shortcomings. Through exploration and practice, the talent team, scientific research and teaching level, discipline reputation, and comprehensive strength of the hospital had been significantly improved, providing effective support for the high-quality development of the hospital.

RESUMO

Accidents or diseases may cause impairment or even loss of human motor function, among which stroke is a disease which is most likely to cause disability and seriously endangers social health. During recent years, as a new nerve regulation technology, non-invasive brain stimulation technology can achieve the application of nerve stimulation to the brain, induce and promote neuroplasticity and improve the excitability of cerebral cortex. Especially, transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and transcranial magnetic stimulation(TMS) have shown high therapeutic potential in motor rehabilitation. This paper summarizes the mechanism and progress of the research and application of tDCS and TMS in the field of neurorehabilitation. Its technical challenges and future development trends are provided as well.

RESUMO

Objective The aim of this experiment was to explore the effect and mechanism of intestinal microbiota on shaping the growth performance by fecal microbiota transplantation from pigs to pseudo-germ-free mice. Methods Thirty-six barrows with a similar initial body weight of 30 kg were raised for 42 days(ad libitum)within individual metabolic cages. Feed intake and body weight of each pig were recorded every week to calculate the feed conversion rate and average daily gain. At the end of the experiment, feed conversion ratio and average daily gain were integrated to divide the pigs into 3 groups, namely, high growth performance(HP), moderate growth performance(MP)and low growth performance(LP)groups. Feces were collected to calculate the total intestinal nutrient digestibility and prepare for fecal microbiota transplantation to pseudo-germ-free mice, which were induced with several antibiotics for four weeks. Fecal microbiome structure was assayed by profiling V3-V4 region of the 16S rRNA gene. Results Fecal microbiota transplantation from pigs to pseudo-germ-free mice resulted in reappearance of the original phenotype. Compared with the LP pigs, the microbial species richness and microbial diversity in feces were higher in the HP pigs. The HP pigs had improved digestibility of gross energy(P =0.01)and higher abundance of Methanobrevibacter. Enterococcus and Akkermansia were also more abundant in the recipient pseudo-germ-free mice from the HP pigs which may be correlated with a high energy utilization. Conclusions Fecal microbiota transplantation from pigs to mice results in reappearance of the original phenotype and microbial species richness, microbial diversity, and their growth ability. Different nutritional metabolism is shown among pigs with different feed efficiency and the HP pigs have improved energy utilization(P=0.01). At the same time, the bacteria correlated with high energy utilization are more abundant in feces of HP pigs than in LP pigs.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVETo investigate the clinical manifestation of children with occult bronchial foreign body, to analyze the reasons of misdiagnosis, to summarize the way of diagnosis and to emphasize the value of bronchoscopy in diagnosis and treatment of children with such disease.

METHODA retrospective analysis of 22 cases of occult bronchial foreign body diagnosed and treated with bronchoscopy in Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University during the period from March 1, 2009 to February 28, 2014.

RESULTOf the 22 cases, 15 were male and 7 female. Their age ranged from nine months and eight days to fourteen years and six months. The course of disease ranged in length from six days to one year. It took us one to thirty-three days in diagnosing the problem. They or their parents all denied aspirating foreign body and the patients did not have irritating chokes. They did not have tracheal displacement or flapping sound. There were no direct signs of bronchial foreign body in their imaging examination. Twenty-one patients were diagnosed as pneumonia before bronchoscopy, and the remaining one was diagnosed as tuberculosis. All of the patients were complicated with infection; atelectasis was found in 15 cases/times, lung consolidation in 10 cases/times, emphysema in 4, pleural effusion in 5, bronchiectasis in 4, one case had respiratory failure, one case had septicemia. The clinical symptoms were relieved in the patients after bronchoscopy, 3 cases were cured, 19 cases were improved.

CONCLUSIONOccult bronchial foreign body with certain complications and great harm is hard to diagnose. We should pay more attention to the important clues, such as a child with repeated pulmonary infection, indirect signs of airway obstruction and difficult to treat. Early bronchoscopy will be useful to improve diagnostics once the vital clue is found.
