RESUMO

The cross section of the process e^{+}e^{-}→π^{+}π^{-} has been measured in the center-of-mass energy range from 0.32 to 1.2 GeV with the CMD-3 detector at the electron-positron collider VEPP-2000. The measurement is based on an integrated luminosity of about 88 pb^{-1}, of which 62 pb^{-1} represent a complete dataset collected by CMD-3 at center-of-mass energies below 1 GeV. In the dominant region near the ρ resonance a systematic uncertainty of 0.7% was achieved. The implications of the presented results for the evaluation of the hadronic contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon are discussed.

RESUMO

We studied the possibility of using sodium deoxyribonucleate (Derinat) for improving the efficiency of co-transplantation of mesenchymal (MSC) and hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) to female F1(CBA×C57BL/6) mice with bone marrow aplasia caused by exposure to γ-radiation. It was found that immunomodulator Derinat enhanced the effect of co-transplantation, in particular, triple post-irradiation administration of Derinat accelerated hematopoiesis recovery judging from the parameters of peripheral blood, total cellularity of the bone marrow and spleen, and animal survival. Single or double administration of Derinat prior to irradiation was ineffective. The optimal result was obtained when the following scheme was applied: MSC→HSC with an interval of 48 h starting during the first hours after irradiation and triple administration of Derinat (in 10-15 min, 3 and 7 days after irradiation) in a dose of 3 mg/mouse.

RESUMO

We studied the effect of mesenchymal stem cells and hemopoietic stem cells co-transplanted in different regimens (sequence and intervals between the injections within 0-48 h) on the rate of the bone marrow hemopoiesis recovery in 468 inbred mice with cytostatic aplasia caused by a single injection of cyclophosphamide in a dose of 500 mg/kg. The efficacy of stem cells was evaluated by animal survival and general physical condition, body weight dynamics, peripheral blood counts (leucocytes, platelets, and reticulocytes), total cellularity and the presence of hemopoietic stem cells in the bone marrow on day 9 after cyclophosphamide injection. The relative content of hemopoietic stem cells in the total myelokaryocyte pool was assessed by flow cytofluorometry using specific monoclonal antibodies to CD117 and CD184. The stimulating effect of co-transplantation of mesenchymal stem cells and hemopoietic stem cells on hemopoiesis was demonstrated by the indices of total cellularity and the relative content of CD117+ hemopoietic stem cells. The schemes with injection of mesenchymal stem cells 24-48 h prior to injection of hemopoietic stem cells were most effective.

RESUMO

The purpose of the work was to study the embryotoxic action of chronic gamma-irradiation of pregnant female rats (F0) during the first 10 days of pregnancy in the total dose of 1 Gy (mean dose rate of 5.31 mGy/hour) on psychophysiological development of posterity of the first (F1) and the second (F2) generations and its modification by natural pigment melanin (peroral 10 mg/kg once per day during the irradiation). 54 pregnant female Wistar rats were the objects of research were their 180 descendants of the first generation and about 400 descendants of the second generation of maternal and of paternal lines. Psychophysiological development and its correction by melanin estimated on ability to learning with the test of training a conditioned avoidance reflex in the shuttle box. Precise negative action of gamma-irradiation in the aforesaid dose on psychophysiological development of posterity of the first generation is established. At rats of the second generation the inferiority is shown mainly at descendants of maternal line. Application of melanin of natural origin in most cases diminished negative consequences of the irradiation.

RESUMO

The purpose of this study was to estimate the radio-protective activity of melanin for the reproductive status of Wistar rats. Wistar rats were exposed in utero either to the single gamma-irradiation on the tenth day of embryogenesis with the dose of 1 Gy or to the chronic gamma-irradiation with the total dose of 1 Gy during the first 10 days of embryogenesis. Such things like the ability of the rats to conceive, the embryogeny and early postnatal ontogeny of rat's posterity were studied. These doses of the radiation and the melanin did not produce the significant damages of the reproductive function of the survival offsprings of the first generation. The possible mechanisms of radio-protective effect of melanin on reproductive system of animals which have been exposed with the nonsterilizing doses at different mean dose rate were discussed.

RESUMO

The effect of increased UV-radiation doses modeling 25 and 50% of ozone layer depletion on sheep's organisms was studied in the field experiment. The character of changes in animal organisms was found to depend on irradiation doses, sensitivity of individual system of living organism to electromagnetic radiation and physiological peculiarities of protection.

RESUMO

The study of a biological effect of ultraviolet, ultrahigh frequency and gamma-radiation, as well as combinations of these, on the functional status of the sheep body systems has made it possible to evaluate the sensitivity of a body exposed to these factors and its adaptive potentials. The pattern of variations in the body systems when a combined EMR is applied depends on to which extent one or another factor dominates the others. It is however possible that the effect of the leading factor is modified by that of a less severe radiation, energy characteristics of which differ from those of the dominating factor.

RESUMO

To research a radio-protective effect of melanin on the reproductive system during its creation the development of first generation posterity (900 descendants) of 125 pubertal female Wistar rats was examined after the single gamma-irradiation with a dose of 1 Gy (mean dose rate of 0.03 mGy/h), which they have been exposed to on the day ten of pregnancy, and the chronic gamma-irradiation with a total dose of 1 Gy (mean dose rate of 5.31 mGy/h) which they have been being exposed to during the first 10 days of pregnancy. The melanin of natural animal origin has the anti-radial effectiveness with the single irradiation increasing the number of alive newborn descendants in a litter and doubling their survival during the first 30 days after the birth. The melanin's effect is less expressed with the chronic irradiation.

RESUMO

Syncytium formation was demonstrated in cocultivation of cow and sheep embryo kidney cells with peripheral blood lymphocytes from leukemic cattle. The beginning of this phenomenon was observed at 3--4, and maximum development at 6--8 days of cocultivation. Lymphocytes of 22 out of 24 leukemic animals were capable of inducing syncytium formation. Parallel examinations of cocultivated cells by the direct immunofluorescence procedure using fluorescent antibodies from sera of leukemic cows gave positive results in 23 our of 24 cases, whereas lymphocytes of 12 normal cows never induced either syncytium or specific antigens.

RESUMO

The direct fluorescent antibody technique was used for detection of "specific" antigen in leukocytes of cattle with different forms of leukomia. Using fluorescein isothicoyanate-labeled immunoglobulins from colosterum of cows hyperimmunized with leukocyte mass from cattle with acute leukemia (hemocytobastosis), the "specific" antigen was detected in the cytoplasm of lymphoid and myeloid cells of animals with this and other forms of leukemia. This antigen was not detected in nuclear cells of the peripheral blood wither in normal animals or in animals with non-leukemic diseases (brucellosis, tuberculosis, various helminthic diseases) accompained by qualitative and quantitative changes in the blood similar to those leukemia.

RESUMO

A specific antigen was found in white blood cells of patients with leukemia by means of the indirect immunofluorescence and ring precipitation tests. Using a mixture of hyperimmune rabbit sera with leukocytes from patients with various forms of leukemia (lympholeukemia, myeloleukemia, hemocytoblastosis and reticulosis), it can be found in cells of patients with some forms of this disease. An increased amount of the antigen in the cells was found in cases of myeloleukemia or hemocytoblastosis. The immunofluorescence test was found to be more clear-cut when the time between bleeding and microscopy of preparations was short.

RESUMO

Changes in protein fractions of casein during production of milk-protein concentrates (casecite and casein hydrolysate) were studied by double disk-electrophoresis in poly-acrylamide gel. Significant changes were observed during casein treatment with pancreatin at pH-6.6-7.0. beta-casein was subjected to the highest proteolytic decomposition, it was separated into two fractions attended by isolation of a great number of positively charged fractions of gamma-casein. The amount of beta-casein, as compared to freshly-precipitated casein, diminished by 3.5 and 11.7%, depending on the decomposition degree. Increment of the portion of positively charged fractions correlated with increased bitter flavor. The method of double disk-electrophoresis in polyacrylamide gel can be recommended for the regulation of the hydrolysis process during food production.

RESUMO

Reaction to rapid intravenous administration (RIA) of rifampicin in a dose of 10 mg/kg was studied on 173 healthy dogs. Immediately after the first RIA of rifampicin there were observed vomiting and ataxia of various levels in 5.2 per cent of the animals. After the drug administration their arterial pressure (AP) lowered to 50-60 mm Hg. By the 9th-11th minute it restored to the initial level. A collapse-like condition was recorded immediately after rifampicin RIA in 2.3 per cent of the dogs with marked decreasing of their AP up to 15-20 mm Hg. Its restoration to the initial level was slow and required 35-40 min. It was noted that after the third consecutive RIA of rifampicin the observed reaction disappeared. Probably this was due to adaptation of the host to rifampicin intravenous injections. Mezaton is an efficient agent rapidly arresting the reaction within 1-3 min.

RESUMO

Efficacy of a new rifampicin dosage form developed at the All-Union Research Institute of Antibiotics was studied on dogs with extensive destructive tuberculosis of the lungs. Intracavernous instillation and rapid intravenous administration (RIA) of the drug in combination with 10 per cent solution of isoniazid and intramuscular administration of streptomycin were used. Intracavernous instillation of rifampicin in combination with 10 per cent solution of isoniazid was performed under the control of an x-ray unit with an image converter tube or with the developed administration procedure through an indwelling catheter. Intracavernous administration of the drugs was alternated with their RIA: either one-stage administration of the antibiotic in daily half doses to each cavern followed by RIA every second day or RIA of a daily half dose in the morning followed by intracavernous instillation of the second half dose to one cavern in 5-6 hours and the second half dose to the other cavern on the next day. Intracavernous instillation of rifampicin in combination with isoniazid together with their RIA in treatment of extensive destructive tuberculosis of the lungs provided 100 per cent elimination of tubercle bacilli in the internal organs of all the dogs and closing of the caverns with cicatrization in 70 per cent of the dogs and formation of microcavities in 30 per cent of the dogs within 30 days.

RESUMO

Soluble rifampicin and isoniazid injected rapidly by the intravenous route and streptomycin injected intramuscularly to dogs with disseminated destructive tuberculosis of the lungs provided sterilization of the organs with respect to M. tuberculosis for the period of their use for 2 months. This was confirmed microbiologically. The treatment resulted in resolution of the dissemination foci in the organs and stimulation of immunomorphological and connective tissue reactions in the lungs until the foci cicatrized. The shifts in liver function (bilirubin, ALT and AST) and coagulograms during the treatment were temporary and came to normal by the end of the treatment. The organotropic effect of soluble rifampicin in combination with isoniazid injected rapidly by the intravenous route and streptomycin injected intramuscularly was not observed during the treatment of the dogs with disseminated destructive tuberculosis of the lungs. Rapid intravenous injection of rifampicin in combination with other antimicrobial drugs will provide a significant decrease in the periods of chemotherapy of patients with disseminated destructive tuberculosis of the lungs.

RESUMO

The effect of increased doses of UV-B-radiation produced by LER-40 lamps (with an intensity of 5.5 W/m2 at a daily dose of 20 kJ/m2 and a total dose for 15 days of 300 kJ/m2) on the cardiovascular function, biochemical, biophysical and structural parameters of blood plasma and cells of sheep was investigated. It was found that increased UV-B-radiation produced functional changes in different physiological systems of animals: arrhythmias, diastole shortening, increase of the systole-diastole index; decrease of platelet count, shortening of blood coagulation time; increase of calcium, iron and copper and decrease of zinc in plasma; conformational changes in cytoplasmic membranes of platelets and lymphocytes. The changes that occurred in the sheep at an early stage of exposure can be viewed as adaptive. However, functional changes that were seen at remote stages suggested that the sensitivity of various systems of the body to UV-B-radiation was different.
