RESUMO

We aimed to investigate the inhibitory effect of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell (hucMSC)-derived exosomes (hucMSC-Exos) transmitting microRNA-342-5p (miR-342-5p) on the development of preeclampsia (PE) by targeting programmed cell death 4 (PDCD4). The primary hucMSCs were cultured and transfected with miR-342-5p, and the exosomes (Exo) were extracted from the hucMSCs. PE rats were performed with an intraperitoneal injection of L-NAME from days 11 to 19 of gestation, and injection of Exo, Exo-negative control (NC), Exo-miR-342-5p agomir, Exo-miR-342-5p antagomir, and overexpressing PDCD4 (oe-PDCD4) vector into the placenta on the 16th day of pregnancy. HE staining was utilized to observe the pathological changes in placental tissues. TUNEL staining was implemented to evaluate cell apoptosis in placental tissues. Blood pressure and 24-h urinary protein in pregnant rats were measured by a non-invasive rat tail artery blood pressure measurement and protein auto-analyzer. Expressions of miR-342-5p, PDCD4, proinflammatory cytokines (TNF-α and IL-1ß), and anti-inflammatory cytokines (IL-10 and TGF-ß) were detected by RT-qPCR, and PDCD4 protein expression was determined by Western blot. The interaction between miR-342-5p and PDCD4 was analyzed by luciferase activity assay. MiR-342-5p was downregulated while PDCD4 was upregulated in the placental tissues of PE rats. HucMSC-Exo relieved pathology and suppressed inflammatory response, and apoptosis in the placental tissues, as well as reducing blood pressure and 24-h urinary protein of PE rats. Elevated miR-342-5p enhanced the promoting influence of hucMSC-Exo on PE rats, while inhibited miR-342-5p reversed the functions of hucMSC-Exo on PE rats. miR-342-5p targeted PDCD4. Overexpression of PDCD4 worsened the development of PE in rats. HucMSC-Exo conveying elevated miR-342-5p inhibits the development of PE in a rat model through downregulating PDCD4.

RESUMO

In this study, we successfully prepared core-shell heterostructured nanocomposites (Fe NWs@SiO2), with ferromagnetic nanowires (Fe NWs) as the core and silica (SiO2) as the shell. The composites exhibited enhanced electromagnetic wave absorption and oxidation resistance and were synthesized using a simple liquid-phase hydrolysis reaction. We tested and analyzed the microwave absorption properties of Fe NWs@SiO2 composites with varied filling rates (mass fractions of 10 wt%, 30 wt%, and 50 wt% after mixing with paraffin). The results showed that the sample filled with 50 wt% had the best comprehensive performance. At the matching thickness of 7.25 mm, the minimum reflection loss (RLmin) could reach -54.88 dB at 13.52 GHz and the effective absorption bandwidth (EAB, RL < -10 dB) could reach 2.88 GHz in the range of 8.96-17.12 GHz. Enhanced microwave absorption performance of the core-shell structured Fe NWs@SiO2 composites could be attributed to the magnetic loss of the composite, the core-shell heterogeneous interface polarization effect, and the small-scale effect induced by the one-dimensional structure. Theoretically, this research provided Fe NWs@SiO2 composites with highly absorbent and antioxidant core-shell structures for future practical applications.

RESUMO

With the rapid development of wearable smart electronic products, high-performance wearable flexible strain sensors are urgently needed. In this paper, a flexible strain sensor device with Fe NWs/Graphene/PEDOT:PSS material added under a porous structure was designed and prepared. The effects of adding different sensing materials and a different number of dips with PEDOT:PSS on the device performance were investigated. The experiments show that the flexible strain sensor obtained by using Fe NWs, graphene, and PEDOT:PSS composite is dipped in polyurethane foam once and vacuum dried in turn with a local linearity of 98.8%, and the device was stable up to 3500 times at 80% strain. The high linearity and good stability are based on the three-dimensional network structure of polyurethane foam, combined with the excellent electrical conductivity of Fe NWs, the bridging and passivation effects of graphene, and the stabilization effect of PEDOT:PSS, which force the graphene-coated Fe NWs to adhere to the porous skeleton under the action of PEDOT:PSS to form a stable three-dimensional conductive network. Flexible strain sensor devices can be applied to smart robots and other fields and show broad application prospects in intelligent wearable devices.

RESUMO

Flexible strain sensors, when considering high sensitivity and a large strain range, have become a key requirement for current robotic applications. However, it is still a thorny issue to take both factors into consideration at the same time. Here, we report a sandwich-structured strain sensor based on Fe nanowires (Fe NWs) that has a high GF (37-53) while taking into account a large strain range (15-57.5%), low hysteresis (2.45%), stability, and low cost with an areal density of Fe NWs of 4.4 mg/cm2. Additionally, the relationship between the contact point of the conductive network, the output resistance, and the areal density of the sensing unit is analyzed. Microscopically, the contact points of the conductive network directly affect the sensor output resistance distribution, thereby affecting the gauge factor (GF) of the sensor. Macroscopically, the areal density and the output resistivity of the strain sensor have the opposite percolation theory, which affects its linearity performance. At the same time, there is a positive correlation between the areal density and the contact point: when the stretching amount is constant, it theoretically shows that the areal density affects the GF. When the areal density reaches this percolation threshold range, the sensing performance is the best. This will lay the foundation for rapid applications in wearable robots.

RESUMO

Ovarine cancer is a common woman malignancy in the world. Majority of the ovarian cancers are originated in the epithelial region which are lack of symptomps and this type of cancer is often get localized, when the tumour has spread outside the pelvis. Based on this context, the present study evaluated the effects of both aqueous and ethanolic extracts of Ipomoea staphylina leaves on ovarian cancer cell line. The SKOV-3 ovarian cancer cell line was used for evaluation of the effects of both extracts. Both extracts showed IC50 effects on ovarian cancer cell lines as sensitivity index (SI) for both extracts were recorded to above 1.iFurther, ethanol extract was more effective in the moderation of gene expressions of matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) and matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) in comparison to aqueous extract. Further, morphological changes of SKOV-3 cells after treatment with both extracts also confirmed the results. The study, therefore, concludes that the ethanolic extract of Ipomoea staphylina leaves is more effective against ovarian cancer cell line.

RESUMO

High-performance iron nanowires have attracted wide attention from researchers due to their 'controllable' arrangement distribution by magnetic fields. In this paper, a simple magnetic field assisted in situ reduction method was proposed to synthesize Fe NWs with high aspect ratio, small-diameter, and good dispersion. A detailed parametric study determining the relationship among the final morphologies of the products and magnetic field, injection sequence of sodium borohydride that was injected into ferrous sulfate heptahydrate, reactant concentration, and injection rate is presented. The as-synthesized Fe NWs were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, x-ray diffraction, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and vibrating sample magnetometry. A plausible mechanism for the formation of high-aspect-ratio Fe NWs is proposed. The SEM images showed the dependence of the NWs morphology and aspect ratio on synthesis parameters. Magnetic field and injection sequence showed considerable influences on the synthesis of high-aspect-ratio Fe NWs. In the absence of magnetic field or with the changes in injection sequence, only the Fe flakes were obtained. The NWs diameter decreased, and the aspect ratio increased with the increase in injection rate. The FeSO4·7H2O and NaBH4 concentration considerably influenced the aspect ratio of the product, which increased first, decreased, and then increased again with the increase in FeSO4·7H2O concentration. Meanwhile, the product aspect ratio increased and then became saturated with the increase in NaBH4 concentration Thus, an optimum synthesis process was obtained, with the average aspect ratio of 350, and the average diameter of 60 nm. The results reported in this paper provide a basis for optimizing the growth of Fe NWs by magnetic field-assisted method.

RESUMO

Reducing the filling content of high-density ferromagnetic particles is a key prerequisite for obtaining lightweight absorbers. To this end, large iron nanowires (Fe NWs) with high length-diameters, uniform length of approximately 21 µm and diameters of approximately 60 nm were synthesized through a facile magnetic field-induced in situ reduction method without templates and surfactants. The phase structures, and micromorphology of the high-aspect-ratio Fe NWs were analyzed, and the electromagnetic properties of Fe NWs-paraffin composites were measured with a vector network analyzer at 2-18 GHz. The Fe NWs-paraffin composite with a low filler loading also exhibited satisfactory microwave absorption performance, and the composites filled with 20 wt.% of as-prepared Fe NWs shows a minimum reflection loss (RLmin) of -44.67 dB at 2.72 GHz and effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) with reflection loss below -10 dB reached 8.56 GHz at a layer thickness of 1.42 mm. At a thickness of 3 mm, the RLmin value and EAB (RL ⩽ -10 dB) reached -29.74 dB and 3.28 GHz (3.84-7.12 GHz), respectively. This study suggests that Fe NWs with high-aspect-ratios have promising microwave absorbing applications, and provides a good reference for the preparation of ferromagnetic metal-based lightweight electromagnetic wave-absorbing materials.

RESUMO

Advances in flexible electronic and optoelectronic devices have caused higher requirements for fabricating high-performance and low cost flexible transparent conductive electrodes (TCEs). Copper nanowires (Cu NWs) possess excellent electrical and optical properties, but the large contact resistance and poor stability limit their practical application in optoelectronic devices. In this work, we report a robust, convenient and environment-friendly method to assemble copper nanowires/reduced graphene oxide (Cu NWs/rGO) TCEs with enhanced conductivity, flexibility and stability at room temperature. The NaBH4 treatment was used to remove the organics and oxides on the surface of Cu NWs, and the graphene oxide (GO) capping layer was also effectively reduced at the same time. The best Cu NWs/rGO composite TCEs show a good optical-electrical performance with a sheet resistance of ∼50 Ω/sq and transmittance of 83% as well as superior mechanical flexibility. The oxidation resistance of Cu NWs in normal environment and even at a relatively high temperature has also been greatly improved. Additionally, the Cu NWs/rGO TCEs based heaters presented high saturation temperature and rapid response time under a low voltage. The high-performance composite Cu NWs TCEs with good stability are expected to be applied in various types of flexible optoelectronic devices.

RESUMO

Electronic noses recognize odors using sensor arrays, and usually face difficulties for odor complicacy, while animals have their own biological sensory capabilities for various types of odors. By implanting electrodes into the olfactory bulb of mammalian animals, odors may be recognized by decoding the recorded neural signals, in order to construct a bioelectronic nose. This paper proposes a spiking neural network (SNN)-based odor recognition method from spike trains recorded by the implanted electrode array. The proposed SNN-based approach exploits rich timing information well in precise time points of spikes. To alleviate the overfitting problem, we design a new SNN learning method with a voltage-based regulation strategy. Experiments are carried out using spike train signals recorded from the main olfactory bulb in rats. Results show that our SNN-based approach achieves the state-of-the-art performance, compared with other methods. With the proposed voltage regulation strategy, it achieves about 15% improvement compared with a classical SNN model.

RESUMO

Copper nanowires (Cu NWs) become a potential functional material in future optoelectronic devices owing to their high optical transmittance, super electrical conductivity, and good flexibility as well as low cost. However, the drawbacks of Cu NWs with large contact resistance and poor stability make them far from the practical implementations. Herein we report a robust method to fabricate high-quality Cu NWs transparent conductive electrodes (TCEs) with enhanced mechanical and chemical stability at room temperature. Firstly, we used a sodium borohydride (NaBH4) treatment to remove the organics and oxides on surface of Cu NWs and thus greatly improved the conductivity of Cu NWs TCEs. Subsequently, followed by decorating a dense hydrophobic dodecanethiol (DT) protective layer, the formed Cu NWs TCEs showed superior mechanical and chemical stability compared to the raw ones. The optimized Cu NWs TCEs exhibit a sheet resistance of ∼38 Ω/sq at an optical transmittance of 83% (550 nm). Unlike the bare Cu NWs, the DT-decorated Cu NWs showed good stability under humid conditions at (85% RH) at 85 °C for 12 h. Moreover, the DT-decorated Cu NW TCEs were tested as transparent heaters, showing the fast response time and high saturation temperature under a low DC voltage. Our studies demonstrate that the proper post treatments for Cu NWs TCEs would make them more competitive in application of next-generation electronic and optoelectronic devices.

RESUMO

Objective To observe the clinical effects of Bushen Quyu Recipe (BQR) combined with acupuncture in treatment of clomiphene-resistant polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) infertility pa- tients after cold needle puncture drainage operation. Methods Totally 170 clomiphene-resistant PCOS in- fertility patients were recruited from March 2011 to October 2013, who were assigned to the control group and the observation group according to random blocking method, 85 cases in each group. Patients in the control group received cold needle puncture drainage operation alone, while those in the observation group additionally took BQR and received acupuncture after cold needle puncture drainage operation. Clinical efficacy was observed in the two groups before and after treatment. The spontaneous ovulation rate and the pregnancy rate were followed-up. The levels of serum sex hormones and hermodynamic indicators of ovarian blood flow were detected in the two groups before and after treatment. Results Successful pregnancy occurred in 63 cases of the observation group, significantly better than that of the con- trol group (52 cases; x² =7. 63, P <0. 05). The spontaneous ovulation rate was 75. 29% at month 3 of follow-ups and 88. 24% at month 6 of follow-ups in the observation group, significantly higher than those of the control group [56. 47% , 67. 06%; x² =6. 70, X² =10. 98, P <0. 05). In the observation group the total pregnancy rate was 74. 12% , higher than that of the control group [61. 18% ; X² =4. 46, P <0. 05). Compared with before treatment in the same group, levels of luteinizing hormone (LH) , testesterone (T) , estradiol (E2) significantly decreased in the two groups after treatment; levels of follicular stimulating hormone (FSH) , peak systolic velocity (PSV) , end diastolic volume (EDV) obviously increased in the two groups after treatment (P <0. 05). The decrement of T, LH, E2 levels and the increment of FSH, PSV, EDV levels were obviously higher in the observation group than in the control group (P <0. 05). Conclusion BQR combined with acupuncture in treatment of clomiphene-resistant PCOS infertility pa- tients after cold needle puncture drainage operation could effectively promote the recovery of menstruation, elevate the success rate of pregnancy, and was helpful to improving levels of sex hormones and ovarian blood perfusion.

RESUMO

We previously found that the relative abundance of Bifidobacterium was increased after chemotherapy; however, the role of Bifidobacterium longum in chemotherapeutic drug resistance in ovarian cancer (OVC) remains unclear. This study aimed to understand the potential effects and mechanism of B. longum extracellular vesicles (B. longum-EVs) on carboplatin (CBP) resistance in OVC. Eight normal and 11 ovarian tissues were collected and the expression of B. longum genomic DNA and its association with acquired CBP resistance in OVC patients was determined. After isolating EVs by ultracentrifugation from B. longum (ATCC 15707), CBP-resistant A2780 cells were treated with PBS, CBP, B. longum-EVs, or CBP + B. longum-EVs, and subsequently analyzed by CCK-8, Edu staining, Annexin V/PI double staining, wound healing, and Transwell assays to detect cell viability, proliferation, apoptosis, migration, and invasion, respectively. MRP1, ATP7A, ATP7B, and p53 expression as well as p53 phosphorylation were measured by western blot analysis. S15A mutation of p53 was assessed to examine the potential role of p53 Ser15 phosphorylation in CBP-resistant OVC. B. longum levels were elevated and positively associated with CBP resistance in OVC patients. Only high concentrations of B. longum-EVs attenuated A2780 cell proliferation, apoptosis, migration, and invasion. B. longum-EVs exposure significantly enhanced the sensitivity of CBP-resistant A2780 cells to CBP and decreased the expression of drug resistance-related proteins. The effect of B. longum-EVs on reversing CBP resistance was completely inhibited by S15A mutation of p53. B. longum-EVs enhanced the sensitivity of OVC cells to CBP through p53 phosphorylation on Ser15.

RESUMO

Based on a survey of 2343 rural residents in China, this paper adopts a binary logistic regression model as the analytical tool to study the impact of rural residents' social network and sense of responsibility regarding their participation in environmental governance. The results show that the cost, frequency and scope of social network activities have positive and significant influences on resident participation in rural environmental governance. The cost of a social network is conducive to building a rural social network, enhancing the connection of interests and promoting the formation of a rural community. Extending social network objectives from family members to villagers can improve the cultural identity and emotional identity of rural residents. The increase in the frequency of social network activities can not only enhance trust among residents, but also reduce the cost of environmental governance mobilization. The scope of a social network acts as an inhibitor whereby social interaction beyond the scope of rural areas will reduce identification with rural emotions. The four dimensions, including responsibility cognition, responsibility will, responsibility emotion and responsibility behavior have significant influences on resident participation in rural environmental governance. Residents' sense of responsibility plays the role of an introverted driving force for them to take part in rural environmental governance, which itself helps to overcome "non-participation" behaviors of "rational smallholders" to a certain extent. Furthermore, it endows rural environmental governance with resilience. So, it is of significance to enhance rural residents' social networks and to improve rural residents' cognition of collective responsibility.

RESUMO

Environmental governance is related to the healthy living standard of human beings and the sustainable development of an economic society. It is of great significance to explore the influence of government trust and environmental pollution perception on environmental governance satisfaction to improve the performance of government environmental governance. Based on the CSS2019 survey data, 3872 survey samples were statistically analyzed, and the optimal scale regression model was used to analyze the relationship between government trust, environmental pollution perception, and environmental governance satisfaction. The results showed that 52.27% of the respondents believed that the satisfaction of environmental governance was good, and both government trust and environmental pollution perception had significant positive effects on the satisfaction of environmental governance. The trust level of the central government, district and county governments, and township governments shows a "differential government trust" state, which is pyramidal. However, the impact of government trust on environmental governance satisfaction shows an inverted pyramid structure, and the township government has the largest effect, which is not matched with the distribution of government trust level. The influence effect of air pollution perception is relatively large, and the public is sensitive to air pollution. Government trust has an impact on the satisfaction of environmental governance through the "expectation-response" path. People are close to the township government and have the opportunity to contact and interact with the township government and its staff. They can directly observe the governance performance and share the public goods of environmental governance. Therefore, it is necessary to further improve the trust level of township governments, strengthen the control of air pollution and improve the township government's environmental governance ability.

RESUMO

Rural health governance is an important part of low-carbon green life, which is also related to the sustainable development and population health project in rural areas. Based on the survey data of 2343 rural residents in China, this study adopted a binary logistic regression model to explore the effects of rural residents' social network and cognition on their participation in rural health governance. The research results show that only less than 30% of the respondents participated in rural health governance, and the proportion of rural resident participating is not high. Both their social network and cognition have a significant impact on their participation in rural health governance. Introverted communication helps strengthen the connection between rural residents, form the network and structure of rural social communication, build emotional links and common interests, and form a common cultural understanding paradigm and action framework. The extraverted communication means that rural residents gradually break away from the social network of acquaintances, which is not conducive to building a rural community. Rural residents' understanding of behavior begins to deviate from rural culture, customs and emotional values, and the binding force of traditional culture is reduced, making it difficult to motivate them to participate in rural public life. Policy cognition can improve rural residents' recognition of the value and significance of health governance. Responsibility awareness is the internal driving force for rural residents to participate in health governance, which can also reduce the governance cost of rural managers. Based on this, increasing rural residents' introverted communication and cultivating their sense of responsibility are key to promoting their participation in rural health governance.

RESUMO

Recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) is a common complication during early gestation, which is associated with aberrant DNA methylation. Zinc Finger and BTB Domain Containing 24 (ZBTB24) plays a critical role in facilitating DNA methylation and cell proliferation. However, the regulatory role of ZBTB24 on trophoblast development in RSA remains unclear. In this study, ZBTB24 expression was compared between decidua tissues of RSA patients and induced abortion controls from a published dataset, which was further validated in placental villi tissues by RT-qPCR and Western blot. The roles of ZBTB24 in trophoblast proliferation, differentiation, and migration were investigated by functional assays after ZBTB24 knockdown or overexpression in HTR-8/SVneo cells. Our results showed that ZBTB24 expression was significantly decreased in RSA patients, and ZBTB24 expression level positively regulated cell viability, differentiation, and migration in HTR-8/SVneo cells. We further demonstrated that ZBTB24 modulated the expression of E-cadherin by altering the DNA methylation at the promoter region. Overall, the downregulation of ZBTB24 is implicated in RSA by inhibiting trophoblast proliferation, differentiation, and migration. Therefore, ZBTB24 may serve as a promising therapeutic target and diagnostic marker for RSA.

RESUMO

P-type conductive Mn-N co-doped ZnO films were prepared by annealing N(+)-implanted Zn0.92Mn0.08O films in a N2 ambient. Effect of the annealing on the structural, surface morphological, electrical and local chemical states of the films were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), high-resolution field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), Hall-effect and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) measurements, respectively. The results indicate that all the samples were single phase and well oriented along the c-axis. The as-implanted samples were n-type semiconductors, while after thermal annealing at 650 degrees C ranging from 10 to 30 minutes, they were converted to p-type conductivity with the hole concentration of 10(16)-10(17) cm(-3). But with further increasing the annealing time or the temperature, it was observed that the p-type conductivity decreased and ultimately reverted to n-type conductivity again. The change of conductive type may be ascribed to the local chemical states evolution of nitrogen in the process of thermal annealing.

RESUMO

In the post-pandemic era, the need for resilient and flexible COVID-19 prevention strategies in rural areas has become increasingly prominent. Based on a sample of 2229 rural residents nationwide, the Structural Equation Model was adopted to analyze the influence of social capital and technological empowerment on pandemic resilience in rural areas. The proportion of diversity, adequacy, and effectiveness of pandemic prevention measures taken by communities was about 57%. Social capital (0.667) and technological empowerment (0.325) had a significant positive impact on rural resilience and pandemic prevention. Social capital plays a mediating role between technological empowerment and pandemic resilience in rural areas. The risk of disease in society stimulates the inherent social capital factors in villages, with the individual social network generating strong social support. Technological empowerment can not only provide new methods for the connection of social capital, but also bring new means for rural authorities to improve their governance capabilities. Social trust in social capital plays an important role in rural resilience and pandemic prevention. The indirect effect of technological empowerment through social capital on pandemic resilience is greater than its direct effect. Social capital construction is the key to rural resilience and pandemic prevention.

RESUMO

This article proposes an unsupervised address event representation (AER) object recognition approach. The proposed approach consists of a novel multiscale spatio-temporal feature (MuST) representation of input AER events and a spiking neural network (SNN) using spike-timing-dependent plasticity (STDP) for object recognition with MuST. MuST extracts the features contained in both the spatial and temporal information of AER event flow, and forms an informative and compact feature spike representation. We show not only how MuST exploits spikes to convey information more effectively, but also how it benefits the recognition using SNN. The recognition process is performed in an unsupervised manner, which does not need to specify the desired status of every single neuron of SNN, and thus can be flexibly applied in real-world recognition tasks. The experiments are performed on five AER datasets including a new one named GESTURE-DVS. Extensive experimental results show the effectiveness and advantages of the proposed approach.

RESUMO

In this work, three different morphologies of ZnSe/N-doped carbon (NC) composites are synthesized using ZIF-8 by a facile calcination process. By adjusting the particle size of precursor ZIF-8, the morphology and size of the product ZnSe/NC can be controlled. The as-prepared ZnSe/NC composites show excellent cyclic stability and rate capability as anode materials in lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). Especially, the as-obtained ZnSe/NC-300 exhibits reversible discharge capacity of 724.4 mAh g-1 after 500 cycles at 1 A g-1. The introduction of N-doped carbon can significantly improve the conductivity of ZnSe and promotes the transfer of electrons. And mesoporous structure is conducive to the penetration of electrolyte in active materials, increases the contact area, and alleviates the volume expansion during the charge-discharge process. Thus, ZnSe/NC composites provide a new insight into the development of anode materials for next-generation high-performance LIBs.
