RESUMO

In recent decades, nonlinear damping identification (NDI) in structural dynamics has attracted wide research interests and intensive studies. Different NDI strategies, from conventional to more advanced, have been developed for a variety of structural types. With apparent advantages over classical linear methods, these strategies are able to quantify the nonlinear damping characteristics, providing powerful tools for the analysis and design of complex engineering structures. Since the current trend in many applications tends to more advanced and sophisticated applications, it is of great necessity to work on developing these methods to keep pace with this progress. Moreover, NDI can provide an effective and promising tool for structural damage detection purposes, where the changes in the dynamic features of structures can be correlated with damage levels. This review paper provides an overview of NDI methods by explaining the fundamental challenges and potentials of these methods based on the available literature. Furthermore, this research offers a comprehensive survey of different applications and future research trends of NDI. For potential development and application work for nonlinear damping methods, the anticipated results and recommendations of the current paper can assist researchers and developers worldwide to find out the gaps and unsolved issues in the field of NDI.

Weld and base metals require hot or cold working during the steel equipment manufacturing process. As a result, the components should be subjected to a normalizing heat treatment in order to recover their mechanical properties. In this study, the submerged-arc welding of the high strength low alloy (HSLA) thick steel plate(13MnNiMoR) is adapted for the vessel head under the normalizing and tempering heat treatment. The findings showed that the material toughness decreases after heating to simulate a vessel head forming process. The stamping process is carried out under the conditions of 980 °C for one hour, normalizing at 920 °C for 1 h and tempering between 600-660 °C for 2 h, respectively. The martensite-austenite (M-A) constituent is distributed in granular bainite and the boundary of austenite in island constituent. Therefore, it was deemed to be the most detrimental to Charpy-V impact toughness. Between normalizing and tempering, intercritical normalizing at 740 °C was added. As a result of the ferrite with fine particles M-A constituent, the toughness increases significantly.

In this study, the influence of rotary-die equal channel angular pressing (RD-ECAP) processing on the mechanical properties and rolling formability of AZ91 alloys was investigated. The as-cast and pre-homogenized AZ91 alloys were pre-processed by RD-ECAP for 16 passes at 573 K and subjected to post-ECAP rolling at 573 K with a rolling speed of 10 m/min. The microstructure and deformation characteristics of the AZ91 alloys were characterized. Results demonstrated that fine-grained AZ91 alloys with improved strength and ductility were obtained via the high-pass RD-ECAP processing, indicating a good plastic formability. The ECAP-ed alloys were easily rolled at 573 K from 4.5 mm to 1.1 mm in thickness without edge cracking. After rolling, heterogeneous grain structures were observed with large numbers of twins and shear bands that created strong basal textures. The rolled AZ91 alloys exhibited higher tensile strength and appropriate elongation. The post-ECAP rolling was successfully used in the high productivity of AZ91 rolled plates with good mechanical properties.
