RESUMO

A new subgenus and three new species of oribatid mites of the genus Yoshiobodes, Yoshiobodes (Dongnaiobodes) subgen. nov., Y. (D.) hexasetosus sp. nov., Y. (D.) biconcavus sp. nov. and Y. (Yoshiobodes) neotrichorostralis sp. nov., are described from southern Vietnam. Yoshiobodes (Dongnaiobodes) subgen. nov. differs from the other subgenera, Yoshiobodes (Yoshiobodes) and Yoshiobodes (Berndobodes), by the presence of five to six pairs of genital setae (versus four). Yoshiobodes (D.) hexasetosus sp. nov. differs from Yoshiobodes (D.) biconcavus sp. nov. by the absence of two large concavities in humeral regions of the notogaster and the presence of short, clavate sensilli (versus concavities well developed, sensilli long, thickened, setiform). Yoshiobodes (Y.) neotrichorostralis sp. nov. differs from the other species of the subgenus by the presence of three additional pairs of setae on the lateral sides of the rostrum and the foveolate ornamentation on the notogaster (versus additional setae absent, surface tuberculate). The new generic diagnosis and an identification key to all known species of Yoshiobodes are given. Yoshiobodes ornatus Mahunka, 1987 is proposed as "nomen nudum". Austrocarabodes (Austrocarabodes) polytrichus Balogh & Mahunka, 1978 combined in the subgenus Austrocarabodes (Uluguroides): A. (U.) polytrichus comb. nov..

RESUMO

Three new oribatid mite species of the genus Pergalumna (Galumnidae), P. paratsurusakii sp. nov., P. asetosa sp. nov and P. mahunkai sp. nov., are described from India. Pergalumna paratsurusakii sp. nov. is most similar morphologically to P. tsurusakii Starý from Japan, however it differs from latter by the body surface, body size and morphology of some notogastral porose areas. Pergalumna asetosa sp. nov. is most similar morphologically to P. rotunda Starý from Japan and Pergalumna yurtaevi Ermilov & Anichkin from Vietnam, however it differs from both by the absence of interlamellar setae and the presence of notogastral furrows. Pergalumna mahunkai sp. nov. is most similar morphologically to P. margaritata Mahunka from Vietnam and P. pseudomargaritata Mahunka from Thailand, however it differs from both by the structure of anterior notogastral margin, body size and morphology of prodorsal setae.

RESUMO

The oribatid mite family Sternoppiidae is recorded in Peru for the first time. A new subgenus and three new species of Sternoppia-Sternoppia (Andoppia) subgen. nov., S. (A.) tetratuberculata sp. nov., S. (Sternoppia) chinchaoensis sp. nov., and S. (S.) americaensis sp. nov.-are described, based on materials collected from upper soil and leaf litter in mountain forests in the Andes. Generic diagnosis, identification key, distribution and habitats of representatives of Sternoppia are presented.

RESUMO

Three new species of oribatid mites of the superfamily OripodoideaScheloribates (Bischeloribates) eduardoi sp. nov., Scheloribates (Hemileius) dianae sp. nov. (both from Scheloribatidae) and Peloribates (Peloribates) elisabethae sp. nov. (Haplozetidae)are described from soil and leaf litter of the primary evergreen lowland rainforest in Amazonian Peru. An identification key to known species of Scheloribates (Bischeloribates) is updated. The taxonomic status of the genus Tentaculozetes Balogh, 1970 (Haplozetidae) is discussed, resulting in the following new taxonomic proposal: Peloribates (Peloribates) Berlese, 1908 (=Tentaculozetes Balogh, 1970 syn. nov.).

RESUMO

Although the juvenile instars of oribatid mite subfamily Sphaerozetinae is well known compared to the other subfamilies of Ceratozetidae (Ceratozetinae and Trichoribatinae), information on morphological ontogeny of some species is still incomplete. Herein, Melanozetes paramollicomus sp. nov. is proposed from Ethiopia, based on adult and juvenile instars. Additionally, comparative analysis of ontogenetic instars of species belonging various genera of Sphaerozetinae with known juveniles, is given, and the major characteristics of juvenile instars of 20 species are presented.

RESUMO

Information on the morphological ontogeny of the majority species of the family Hermanniidae is still lacking. In this work, the ontogenetic instars of the Mediterranean species, Hermannia longisetosa Subas Shtanchaeva, 2013 are studied, based on material from northwestern Spain. Comparative characteristics of juveniles of species belonging to different genera of Hermanniidae are given based on our own data and available literature sources, and the major characteristics of larvae and nymphs are presented. An updated family and generic diagnoses based on juveniles of Hermanniidae are proposed. At the moment, the juveniles of two genera, Hermannia and Phyllhermannia are known, which differ from one another in the pattern of cuticle plications of the gastronotum; number of solenidia on leg tarsi I and II; number of setae on palp femur; setal formula of leg IV in protonymph; and the arrangement of gastronotic setae of c- and d-series.

RESUMO

Two new species of oribatid mites of the genus Lasiobelba (Oribatida, Oppiidae), Lasiobelba (Lasiobelba) daamsae sp. n. and Lasiobelba (Antennoppia) nepalica sp. n., are described from eastern Nepal. Lasiobelba (L.) daamsae sp. n. is most similar to L. (L.) remota Aoki, 1959 and L. (L.) gibbosa (Mahunka, 1985), however, it differs from both by the anterior part of pedotecta I specifically curved, rostrum pointed and exobothridial setae not shorter than bothridial setae. Lasiobelba (Antennoppia) nepalica sp. n. is most similar to L. (A.) granulata (Mahunka, 1986), however, it differs from the latter by the larger body size, exobothridial setae longer than rostral setae and bothridial setae not longer than interlamellar setae. An identification key to known species of Lasiobelba is given.

RESUMO

The oribatid mite genus Berndamerus Mahunka, 1977 is transferred into the family Ctenobelbidae as the subgenus Ctenobelba (Berndamerus) Mahunka, 1977, stat. n. from the family Amerobelbidae. The known species of Berndamerus combined: C. (B.) bicostata (Berlese, 1910), comb. n., C. (B.) eremuloides (Berlese, 1910), comb. n., C. (B.) hellenica (Mahunka, 1977), comb. n. A new species, Ctenobelba (Berndamerus) bugiamapensis sp. n., is described from soil, Bu Gia Map National Park, southern Vietnam. It differs from the other species of the subgenus by the heterotrichy of notogastral setae, presence of adanal neotrichy and localization of adanal lyrifissures. Ctenobelbidae is recorded in Vietnam for the first time. A new diagnosis of the family Ctenobelbidae and the identification keys to the known subgenera of the genus Ctenobelba and species of the subgenus Ctenobelba (Berndamerus) are provided.
