RESUMO

Aqueous alkaline Zn-based batteries (AAZBs) possess great promise for large-scale applications thanks to their higher discharging plateau and unique reaction mechanism. However, the capacity and rate capability of Ni-based cathodes are still unsatisfactory due to their insufficient OH- adsorption and diffusion ability. Herein, heterostructured Ni3 S2 /Ni(OH)2 nanosheets with outstanding electrochemical performance are synthesized via a facile chemical etching strategy. The heterostructured Ni3 S2 /Ni(OH)2 nanosheet cathode shows significantly increased capacity and rate capability due to its boosted OH- adsorption and diffusion ability compared to Ni3 S2 . Consequently, the assembled Zn//Ni3 S2 /Ni(OH)2 cell can deliver an ultrahigh capacity of 2.26 mAh cm-2 , an excellent rate performance (0.91 mAh cm-2 at 100 mA cm-2 ) and a satisfying cycling stability (1.01 mAh cm-2 at 20 mA cm-2 after 500 cycles). Moreover, a prominent energy density of 3.86 mWh cm-2 is obtained, which exceeds the majority of recently reported AAZBs. This work is expected to provide a new modification direction for developing high-performance nickel sulfide cathode for AAZBs.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To establish the population pharmacokinetics (PPK) of magnesium sulfate (MgSO4)in women with preeclampsia (PE), and to determine the key covariates having an effect in magnesium pharmacokinetics in Chinese PE. METHODS: Pregnant women with PE prescribed MgSO4 were enrolled in this prospective study from April 2021 to April 2023. On the initial day of administration, the patients were administered a loading dose of 5 g in conjunction with 10 g of magnesium sulfate as a maintenance dose. On the second day, only the maintenance dose was administration, and maternal blood samples were taken at 0, 4, 5, and 12 h after the second day's 10 g maintenance dose. The software Phoenix was used to estimate PPK parameters of MgSO4, such as clearance (CL) and volume of distribution (V), and to model PPK models with patient demographic, clinical, and laboratory covariates. RESULTS: A total of 199 blood samples were collected from 51 women with PE and PPK profiles were analyzed. The PPK of MgSO4 is consistent with to a one-compartment model. The base model adequately described the maternal serum magnesium concentrations after magnesium administration. The population parameter estimates were as follows: CL was 2.98 L/h, V was 25.07 L. The model predictions changed significantly with covariates (BMI, creatinine clearance, and furosemide). Furosemide statistically influences V. The creatinine clearance, BMI and furosemide jointly affects CL. Monte Carlo simulation results showed that a loading dose combined with a maintenance dose would need to be administered daily to achieve the therapeutic blood magnesium concentrations. For the non-furosemide group, the optimal dosing regimen was a 5 g loading dose combined with a 10 g maintenance dose of MgSO4. For the furosemide group, the optimal dosing regimen was a 2.5 g loading dose combined with a 10 g maintenance dose of MgSO4. CONCLUSIONS: The magnesium PPK model was successfully developed and evaluated in Chinese preeclampsia population, and the dose optimization of MgSO4 was completed through Monte Carlo simulation.

RESUMO

Ammonium ions (NH4 + ), as non-metallic charge carriers, are attracting attention in aqueous batteries due to its low molar mass, element sufficiency, and non-toxicity. However, the host materials for NH4 + storage are still limited. Herein, an oxygen defects-rich manganese oxide (MnO2-x ) for NH4 + storage are reported. The oxygen defects can endow the MnO2-x sample with improved electric conductivity and low interface activation energy. The electrochemical reaction mechanism is also verified by using ex situ X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), demonstrating the insertion and extraction of NH4 + in the MnO2-x by formation/breaking of a hydrogen bond. As a result, MnO2-x delivers a high capacity of 109.9 mAh g-1 at the current density of 0.5 A g-1 and retention of 24 mAh g-1 after 1000 cycles at the current density of 4 A g-1 , outperforming the pristine MnO2 sample.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: This study aims to investigate the risk factors for not returning to postpartum blood pressure (BP) follow-up visit at different time points in postpartum discharged hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) patients. Likewise, females with HDP in China should have a BP evaluation continuously for at least 42 days postpartum and have BP, urine routine, and lipid and glucose screening for 3 months postpartum. METHODS: This study is a prospective cohort study of postpartum discharged HDP patients. Telephone follow-up was conducted at 6 weeks and 12 weeks postpartum, the maternal demographic characteristics, details of labor and delivery, laboratory test results of patients at admission, and adherence to BP follow-up visits postpartum were collected. While logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the factors associated with not returning to postpartum BP follow-up visit at 6 weeks and 12 weeks after delivery, the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was drawn to evaluate the model's predictive value for predicting not returning to postpartum BP visit at each follow-up time point. RESULTS: In this study, 272 females met the inclusion criteria. 66 (24.26%) and 137 (50.37%) patients did not return for postpartum BP visit at 6 and 12 weeks after delivery. A multivariate logistic regression analysis identified education level of high school or below (OR = 3.71; 95% CI = 2.01-6.85; p = 0.000), maximum diastolic BP during pregnancy (OR = 0.97; 95% CI = 0.94-0.99; p = 0.0230)and delivery gestational age (OR = 1.12; 95% CI = 1.005-1.244; p = 0.040)as independent risk factors in predicting not returning to postpartum BP follow-up visit at 6 weeks postpartum, and education level of high school or below (OR = 3.20; 95% CI = 1.805-5.67; p = 0.000), maximum diastolic BP during pregnancy (OR = 0.95; 95% CI = 0.92-0.97; p = 0.000), delivery gestational age (OR = 1.13; 95% CI = 1.04-1.24; p = 0.006) and parity (OR = 1.63; 95% CI = 1.06-2.51; p = 0.026) as risk factors for not returning to postpartum BP follow-up visit at 12 weeks postpartum. The ROC curve analysis indicated that the logistic regression models had a significant predictive value for identify not returning to BP follow-up visit at 6 and 12 weeks postpartum with the area under the curve (AUC) 0.746 and 0.761, respectively. CONCLUSION: Attendance at postpartum BP follow-up visit declined with time for postpartum HDP patients after discharge. Education at or below high school, maximum diastolic BP during pregnancy and gestational age at delivery were the common risk factors for not returning for BP follow-up visit at 6 and 12 weeks postpartum in postpartum HDP patients.

RESUMO

CircRNAs are implicated in the development of several cancers. Nevertheless, the involvement of circ_0000118 in the development of cervical cancer (CC) remains unclear. Circ_0000118 levels in tumor tissues and cells were examined by qRT-PCR. The function of circ_0000118 in regulating the malignancy of CC cells was investigated using functional assays, including CCK-8, colony formation, transwell, and tube formation experiments. The functional interaction between circ_0000118 and microRNAs were validated by dual-luciferase activity assay and RNA precipitation experiments. In vivo mouse model was employed to assess the effect of circ_0000118 in the tumorigenesis of CC cells. Circ_0000118 was overexpressed in CC cells and tissues. Loss-of-function experiments demonstrated that circ_0000118 knockdown impaired the proliferation and tumor sphere formation, as well as the angiogenic potential of CC cells. RNA interaction experiments confirmed that circ_0000118 sponged miR-211-5p and miR-377-3p. AKT2 was found to be a target gene negatively modulated by miR-211-5p and miR-377-3p. AKT2 overexpression rescued the inhibition of circ_0000118 downregulation on CC cells. Our study suggested that circ_0000118 functions as an oncogenic factor in progression of CC by maintaining AKT2 level through targeting miR-211-5p and miR-377-3p as a ceRNA (competitive endogenous RNA), which provides novel therapeutic target in the management of CC.

RESUMO

The hydrogen evolution and dendrite issues are the notorious culprits of the limited lifespan and Coulombic efficiency (CE) of Zn anodes, particularly at harsh test conditions. Herein, considering the Lewis acidic feature of Zn2+ , abundant unshared pair electrons of zincophilic Lewis bases are proposed as decent electrolyte additives to stabilize Zn anodes at "Three High" conditions (high depth of discharge, high areal capacity and high current). The unshared pair electrons can remove H2 O from Zn2+ solvated sheaths and confine the activity of H2 O by breaking its hydrogen bonding network. The combination of these factors effectively restricts H2 O-involved side reactions and enables dendrite-free Zn deposition, even at harsh conditions. The effectiveness of this strategy is fully proved by a series of Lewis base molecules. Noticeably, the Zn||Zn cell with an area of 20 cm2 , using DMF-containing electrolyte can be stably cycled over 1000 h at 60 % DOD, with a 100 % CE.

RESUMO

Carbon-based cathodes for aqueous zinc ion hybrid supercapacitors (ZHSCs) typically undergo low Zn ion storage capability due to their electric double layer capacitance (EDLC) energy storage mechanism that is restricted by specific surface area and thickness of electric double layer (EDL). Here, we report a universal surface charge modulation strategy to effectively enhance the capacitance of carbon materials by decreasing the thickness of EDL. Amino groups with lone pair electrons were chosen to increase the surface charge density and enhanced the interaction between carbon electrode and Zn ions, thus effectively compacting the EDL. Consequently, amino functionalized porous carbon based ZHSCs can deliver an ultrahigh capacity of 255.2 mAh g-1 along with excellent cycling stability (95.5 % capacity retention after 50 000 cycles) in 1 M ZnCl2 electrolyte. This study demonstrates the feasibility of EDL modified carbon as Zn2+ storage cathode and great prospect for constructing high performance ZHSCs.

RESUMO

High-energy electrodes at high mass loadings (usually >8.0 mg cm-2 ) are desired for aqueous pseudocapacitors. Yet, how to overcome the thickness-dependent resistance increase of ion/electron transport in pseudocapacitive materials is still challenging. Herein, a high-performance electrode (denoted as AMC) adapted to high mass loading is achieved by promoting the Li-ion affinity of 3D MoO2 /carbon fabric. The experimental results and corresponding computational results reveal that the oxygen-activated surface of AMC, combined with the wettability and conductivity superiority of 3D graphite network, significantly facilitates the Li-ion adsorption and diffusion at the electrode/electrolyte interface, even at large thicknesses. Consequently, even at a high mass loading up to 8.1 mg cm-2 , the AMC electrode also displays an impressive specific capacity (567.5 C g-1 at 2.5 A g-1 ), substantially superior to most advanced pseudocapacitive electrodes. The strategy of boosting energy characteristic by enhancing the affinity of charge carriers is applicable to other pseudocapacitive electrodes.

RESUMO

Pleural effusion (PE) is prevalent in unselected "real-life" populations of multiple myeloma (MM). However, its prognostic value on MM is currently elusive. This study aimed to explore the role of PE on MM prognosis and to develop a novel prognostic nomogram for a cohort of Chinese patients with MM. Patients diagnosed with MM form 2000 through 2017 were retrospectively enrolled. PE was evaluated by chest computed tomography (CT) scans. Independent predictors of overall survival (OS) were identified using a multivariable Cox regression model performed on variables selected by the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) algorithm. A nomogram was constructed based on these variables. The concordance index (C-index) and the calibration curve were used to evaluate the predictive performance of the nomogram. Among 861 patients analyzed, 368 patients developed PE. Multivariate cox regression and restricted mean survival time (RMST) analyses revealed that patients with PE experienced worse OS vs. patients without PE. A nomogram predictive of OS was constructed using PE, plasma cell proportion, international staging system (ISS) stage, Charlson comorbidity index (CCI), 1q21 gain, and autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). The nomogram showed satisfactory discrimination in the derivation cohort (C-index=0.729) and the validation cohort (C-index=0.684), outperforming the Durie-Salmon (DS) and ISS staging systems. Moreover, the nomogram accurately classified patients into two distinct high- and low-risk groups. PE is frequently encountered in the disease course for MM patients. We derivated and validated a novel nomogram for MM based on PE, outperforming the DS/ISS staging systems.

RESUMO

All-inorganic halide perovskite (CsPb2Br5) nanocrystals (NCs) have received widespread attention owing to their unique photoelectric properties. This work reports a novel strategy to control the phase transition from CsPbBr3 to CsPb2Br5 and investigates the effects of different treatment times and treatment temperatures on perovskite NCs formation. By controlling the volume of tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) added, the formation of different phases of perovskite powder can be well controlled. In addition, a white light-emitting diode (WLED) device is designed by coupling the CsPbBr3/CsPbBr3-CsPb2Br5 NCs@TEOS nanocomposite and CaAlSiN3:Eu2+ commercial phosphor with a 460 nm InGaN blue chip, exhibiting a high luminous efficiency of 57.65 lm/W, color rendering index (CRI) of 91, and a low CCT of 5334 K. The CIE chromaticity coordinates are (0.3363, 0.3419). This work provides a new strategy for the synthesis of CsPbBr3/CsPbBr3-CsPb2Br5 NCs@TEOS nanocomposite, which can be applied to the field of WLEDs and display devices.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Medical thoracoscopy (MT) is recommended in patients with undiagnosed exudative pleural effusion and offers a degree of diagnostic sensitivity for pleural malignancy. However, not all patients who undergo MT receive an exact diagnosis. Our previous investigation from 2014 summarized the long-term outcomes of these patients with nonspecific pleurisy (NSP); now, we offer updated data with the goal of refining our conclusions. METHODS: Between July 2005 and August 2018, MT with pleural biopsies were performed in a total of 1,254 patients with undiagnosed pleural effusions. One hundred fifty-four patients diagnosed with NSP with available follow-up data were included in the present study, and their medical records were reviewed. RESULTS: A total of 154 patients were included in this study with a mean follow-up duration of 61.5 ± 43.7 months (range: 1-180 months). No specific diagnosis was established in 67 (43.5%) of the patients. Nineteen patients (12.3%) were subsequently diagnosed with pleural malignancies. Sixty-eight patients (44.2%) were diagnosed with benign diseases. Findings of pleural nodules or plaques during MT and the recurrence of pleural effusion were associated with malignant disease. CONCLUSIONS: Although most NSP patients received a diagnosis of a benign disease, malignant disease was still a possibility, especially in those patients with nodules or plaques as noted on the MT and a recurrence of pleural effusion. One year of clinical follow-up for NSP patients is likely sufficient. These updated results further confirm our previous study's conclusions.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Magnesium sulfate (MgSO4) is the standard drug for eclampsia prophylaxis and treatment. In China, the effective therapeutic serum magnesium level is 1.8-3.0 mmol/L. There is little information on how to achieve and maintain effective therapeutic concentrations. This study aimed to investigate risk factors for sub-therapeutic serum concentrations of MgSO4 in patients with severe preeclampsia. METHODS: Patients with severe preeclampsia who received MgSO4 intravenous infusion were retrospectively reviewed. The maternal demographic characteristics, regimens for the administration of MgSO4, and lab test results of patients were collected. Multivariate logistic regression analysis and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis were conducted for the risk factors influencing the serum magnesium concentration. RESULTS: A total of 93 patients with severe preeclampsia were included in the study. 52 (55.91%) patients did not attain therapeutic serum magnesium levels. A multivariate logistic regression analysis identified creatinine clearance (Ccr), whether the loading dose was given, and measurement time of serum magnesium concentration (referring to the time from start of MgSO4 infusion to blood draw for serum sampling) as independent risk factors for sub-therapeutic serum magnesium concentration (P < 0.05). ROC curve analysis indicated that the continuous variable Ccr had a significant predictive value for the serum magnesium concentration, which resulted in a cutoff point of 133 mL/min; while measurement time had limited predictive value, with cutoff point of 2.375 h. CONCLUSIONS: Ccr, whether the loading dose was given, and measurement time were independent risk factors for sub-therapeutic serum magnesium concentration. A loading dose of MgSO4 everytime before the maintenance dose, as well as the duration of MgSO4 maintenance dose of more than 2.375 h are recommended for all the patients with severe PE. Routine evaluation of serum magnesium levels is a recommended practice for women with severe PE and whose Ccr is ≥133 mL/min.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study was to use LC-MS/MS to compare the pharmacodynamic properties and bioequivalence of two 200-mg formulations of racecadotril: suspension formulation (test) and granule formulation (reference) in healthy Chinese subjects. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A single-dose, randomized, two-period crossover study was conducted in fasted healthy Chinese subjects, who received a single oral dose of the test or reference formulation, followed by a 7-day washout period and administration of the alternate formulation. RESULTS: The rapid and highly sensitive LC-MS/MS method exhibited a reasonable linearity range (2.324 - 952.000 ng/mL) and high sensitivity (LLOQ of 2.324 ng/mL). The within- and between-run precision, accuracy, and stability results were within the acceptable limits, and no matrix effect was observed. The 90% CI of the ratio of geometric means for AUC0-t, AUC0-∞, and Cmax were 88.1 - 102.3%, 87.9 - 101.5% and 99.5 - 113%, respectively, which met the regulatory criteria for bioequivalence. CONCLUSION: The method is suitable for quantification of thiorphan in human plasma. In addition, the results indicated that the test and reference formulations were bioequivalent in terms of both rate and extent of absorption.

RESUMO

We report on the on-surface synthesis of a series of two-dimensional polymers (2DPs) and macrocycles containing hydroxyl groups on a highly oriented pyrolytic graphite surface. The formed 2DPs and macrocycles were visualized through scanning tunneling microscopy. By varying the solvent and reaction temperature, structural evolution from oligomers to well-ordered 2DPs or discrete macrocycles was directly followed. In addition, we discovered that the reaction outcome can be steered from extended 2DPs to discrete macrocycles or catenular structures by exchanging the position of the hydroxyl and aldehyde group. These results indicate that the relative positions of hydroxyl and aldehyde groups on the biphenyl ring play a determining role in the control and selection of the final products of the surface-confined Schiff base coupling reaction.

RESUMO

Dendritic cell nuclear protein-1 (DCNP1) is a protein associated with major depression. In the brains of depression patients, DCNP1 is up-regulated. However, how DCNP1 participates in the pathogenesis of major depression remains unknown. In this study, we first transfected HEK293 cells with EGFP-DCNP1 and demonstrated that the full-length DCNP1 protein was localized in the nucleus, and RRK (the residues 117-119) composed its nuclear localization signal (NLS). An RRK-deletion form of DCNP1 (DCNP1ΔRRK) and truncated form (DCNP11-116), each lacking the RRK residues, did not show the specific nuclear localization like full-length DCNP1 in the cells. A rat glioma cell line C6 can synthesize melatonin, a hormone that plays important roles in both sleep and depression. We then revealed that transfection of C6 cells with full-length DCNP1 but not DCNP1ΔRRK or DCNP11-116 significantly decreased the levels of melatonin. Furthermore, overexpression of full-length DCNP1, but not DCNP1ΔRRK or DCNP11-116, in C6 cells significantly decreased both the mRNA and protein levels of N-acetyltransferase (NAT), a key enzyme in melatonin synthesis. Full-length DCNP1 but not DCNP1ΔRRK or DCNP11-116 was detected to interact with the Nat promoter and inhibited its activity through its E-box motif. Furthermore, full-length DCNP1 but not the mutants interacted with and repressed the transcriptional activity of BMAL1, a transcription factor that transactivates Nat through the E-box motif. In conclusion, we have shown that RRK (the residues 117-119) are the NLS responsible for DCNP1 nuclear localization. Nuclear DCNP1 represses NAT expression and melatonin biosynthesis by interacting with BMAL1 and repressing its transcriptional activity. Our study reveals a connection between the major depression candidate protein DCNP1, circadian system and melatonin biosynthesis, which may contribute to the pathogenesis of depression.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The concentration assay of pleural effusion interleukin-27 (IL-27) has raised concern for diagnosing tuberculous pleurisy. Compared with malignant pleural effusion (MPE), the concentration of IL-27 in tuberculous pleural effusion (TPE) increased significantly. Accurate differentiating diagnosis is essential for choosing treatment for pleural effusion. OBJECTIVE: The present meta-analysis is aimed at determining the accuracy of IL-27 in the differential diagnosis between TPE and MPE. MATERIAL AND METHOD: After having retrieved the published studies, we combined the sensibility (SEN), specificity (SPE), positive likelihood ratio (PLR), negative likelihood ratio (NLR), and diagnostic odds ratio (DOR) of IL-27 in the diagnosis of TPE compared to MPE using a fixed-effect model. The summary receiver operating characteristic curve was applied to estimate the overall test performance. RESULTS: In total, 550 patients (285 patients with TPE and 265 patients with MPE), included in 7 case-control studies, were enrolled. The summary assessments for IL-27 in the diagnosis between TPE and MPE were: SEN 0.93 (95% CI 0.90-0.96), SPE 0.97 (95% CI 0.94-0.98), PLR 25.88 (95% CI 13.84-48.39), NLR 0.07 (95% CI 0.05-0.11), and DOR 333.26 (95% CI 146.10-760.19), respectively. The maximal joint SEN and SPE was 0.95; the area under the curve was 0.99. CONCLUSION: IL-27 determination is a relatively accurate test for the diagnosis of TPE, which has very high SEN and SPE for discriminating TPE from MPE. The results of IL-27 assays should be interpreted in parallel with clinical findings and the results of conventional tests.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: In the follow-up of patients with differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC), several patients had elevated serum levels of antithyroglobulin antibody (TgAb), undetectable serum thyroglobulin (Tg), and negative radioiodine whole body scan (131I-WBS). We describe the use of neck ultrasonography (US) and fluorine-18-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (18F-FDG PET/CT) imaging in these patients to investigate this clinically challenging problem and propose treating. SUBJECTS AND METHODS: A total of 49 DTC patients with elevated serum levels of TgAb (>115IU/mL), undetectable Tg and negative 131I-WBS were divided into two groups (positive and negative) according to the neck US findings. Differences in the rate of recurrence between the two groups were investigated. The diagnostic value of 18F-FDG PET/CT in these patients was evaluated. RESULTS: Among the 49 patients, the rate of recurrence of patients with positive neck US was 50%, which was significantly higher than that of patients with negative neck US (17.24%; P=0.014). The sensitivity, specificity, and positive predictive values of 18F-FDG PET/CT imaging in diagnosing the clinical status of these patients were 93.33%, 70.59% and 58.33%, respectively. After the 18F-FDG PET/CT scan, clinical management was changed in 14 patients. Nine patients were operated and five underwent 131I ablation therapy. CONCLUSION: In the 49 DTC patients with elevated serum levels of TgAb but negative findings in serum Tg and in 131I-WBS, neck US and 18F-FDG PET/CT imaging supported the clinical diagnosis and suggested subsequent treatment.

RESUMO

A two-dimensional surface covalent organic framework, prepared by a surface-confined synthesis using 4,4'-azodianiline and benzene-1,3,5-tricarbaldehyde as the precursors, was used as a host network to effectively immobilize arylenevinylene macrocycles (AVMs). Thus AVMs could be separated from their linear polymer analogues, which are the common side-products in the cyclooligomerization process. Scanning tunneling microscopy investigations revealed efficient removal of linear polymers by a simple surface binding and solvent washing process.

RESUMO

Understanding how the constitutional dynamics of a dynamic combinatorial library (DCL) adapts to surfaces (compared to bulk solution) is of fundamental importance to the design of adaptive materials. Submolecular resolved scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) can provide detailed insights into olefin metathesis at the interface. Analysis of the distribution of products has revealed the important role of environmental pressure, reaction temperature, and substituent effects in surface-confined olefin metathesis. We also report an unprecedented preferred deposition and assembly of linear polymers, and some specific oligomers, on the surface that are hard to obtain otherwise.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND/AIMS: We examined the factors associated with blood pressure variability in a multi-ethnicity prospective study in China to gain more evidence to guide the prevention and management of hypertension through risk factor intervention. METHODS: A total of 318 consecutive adult subjects aged 29-94 years with suspected or known hypertension were enrolled in this study. Blood pressure variability measurements were based on ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. To measure short-term reading-to-reading blood pressure variability in this study, we used the standard deviation(SD) of the blood pressure to estimate the blood pressure variability. RESULTS: The SDs of the blood pressure in this study ranged from 5.425 to 32.25, with a median of 10.81 (quartile range, 8.90-12.46). No significant difference regarding the level distribution of blood pressure variability was found across the various ethnicities. Spearman correlation analyses indicated that the SD of blood pressure was positively correlated with DSBP (r=0.302, p=<0.001), NSBP (r=0.383, p=<0.001), NDBP (r=0.230, p=<0.001), and FBG (r=0.129, p=0.023) and was negatively correlated with triglyceride (r=-0.289, p=<0.001), CR (r=-0.242, p=<0.001), HDL-C (r=-0.230, p=<0.001), LDL-C (r=-0.186, p=0.001), and apolipoprotein B levels (r=-0.157, p=0.006). Multiple linear regression analysis indicated that triglycerides (ß=-0.217, p=<0.001), NSBP (ß=0.174, p=0.003), FBG (ß=0.128, p=0.024), DDBP (ß=-0.128, p=0.022), and apolipoprotein A (ß=-0.116, p=0.036) were significantly and independently associated with the blood pressure variability. CONCLUSIONS: In this study, blood pressure variability was significantly associated with not only blood pressure levels but also patient demographic, clinical and biochemical characteristics.
