RESUMO

Low-grade gliomas almost invariably progress into secondary glioblastoma (sGBM) with limited therapeutic option and poorly understood mechanism. By studying the mutational landscape of 188 sGBMs, we find significant enrichment of TP53 mutations, somatic hypermutation, MET-exon-14-skipping (METex14), PTPRZ1-MET (ZM) fusions, and MET amplification. Strikingly, METex14 frequently co-occurs with ZM fusion and is present in ∼14% of cases with significantly worse prognosis. Subsequent studies show that METex14 promotes glioma progression by prolonging MET activity. Furthermore, we describe a MET kinase inhibitor, PLB-1001, that demonstrates remarkable potency in selectively inhibiting MET-altered tumor cells in preclinical models. Importantly, this compound also shows blood-brain barrier permeability and is subsequently applied in a phase I clinical trial that enrolls MET-altered chemo-resistant glioma patients. Encouragingly, PLB-1001 achieves partial response in at least two advanced sGBM patients with rarely significant side effects, underscoring the clinical potential for precisely treating gliomas using this therapy.

The PTEN tumor suppressor is frequently mutated or deleted in cancer and regulates glucose metabolism through the PI3K-AKT pathway. However, whether PTEN directly regulates glycolysis in tumor cells is unclear. We demonstrate here that PTEN directly interacts with phosphoglycerate kinase 1 (PGK1). PGK1 functions not only as a glycolytic enzyme but also as a protein kinase intermolecularly autophosphorylating itself at Y324 for activation. The protein phosphatase activity of PTEN dephosphorylates and inhibits autophosphorylated PGK1, thereby inhibiting glycolysis, ATP production, and brain tumor cell proliferation. In addition, knockin expression of a PGK1 Y324F mutant inhibits brain tumor formation. Analyses of human glioblastoma specimens reveals that PGK1 Y324 phosphorylation levels inversely correlate with PTEN expression status and are positively associated with poor prognosis in glioblastoma patients. This work highlights the instrumental role of PGK1 autophosphorylation in its activation and PTEN protein phosphatase activity in governing glycolysis and tumorigenesis.

EGFR activates phosphatidylinositide 3-kinase (PI3K), but the mechanism underlying this activation is not completely understood. We demonstrated here that EGFR activation resulted in lysine acetyltransferase 5 (KAT5)-mediated K395 acetylation of the platelet isoform of phosphofructokinase 1 (PFKP) and subsequent translocation of PFKP to the plasma membrane, where the PFKP was phosphorylated at Y64 by EGFR. Phosphorylated PFKP binds to the N-terminal SH2 domain of p85α, which is distinct from binding of Gab1 to the C-terminal SH2 domain of p85α, and recruited p85α to the plasma membrane resulting in PI3K activation. PI3K-dependent AKT activation results in enhanced phosphofructokinase 2 (PFK2) phosphorylation and production of fructose-2,6-bisphosphate, which in turn promotes PFK1 activation. PFKP Y64 phosphorylation-enhanced PI3K/AKT-dependent PFK1 activation and GLUT1 expression promoted the Warburg effect, tumor cell proliferation, and brain tumorigenesis. These findings underscore the instrumental role of PFKP in PI3K activation and enhanced glycolysis through PI3K/AKT-dependent positive-feedback regulation.

Autophagy is crucial for maintaining cell homeostasis. However, the precise mechanism underlying autophagy initiation remains to be defined. Here, we demonstrate that glutamine deprivation and hypoxia result in inhibition of mTOR-mediated acetyl-transferase ARD1 S228 phosphorylation, leading to ARD1-dependent phosphoglycerate kinase 1 (PGK1) K388 acetylation and subsequent PGK1-mediated Beclin1 S30 phosphorylation. This phosphorylation enhances ATG14L-associated class III phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase VPS34 activity by increasing the binding of phosphatidylinositol to VPS34. ARD1-dependent PGK1 acetylation and PGK1-mediated Beclin1 S30 phosphorylation are required for glutamine deprivation- and hypoxia-induced autophagy and brain tumorigenesis. Furthermore, PGK1 K388 acetylation levels correlate with Beclin1 S30 phosphorylation levels and poor prognosis in glioblastoma patients. Our study unearths an important mechanism underlying cellular-stress-induced autophagy initiation in which the protein kinase activity of the metabolic enzyme PGK1 plays an instrumental role and reveals the significance of the mutual regulation of autophagy and cell metabolism in maintaining cell homeostasis.

Stabilization of multiple polarization states at the atomic scale is pivotal for realizing high-density memory devices beyond prevailing bistable ferroelectric architectures. Here, we show that two-dimensional ferroelectric SnS or GeSe is able to revive and stabilize the ferroelectric order of three-dimensional ferroelectric BaTiO3, even when the latter is thinned to one unit cell in thickness. The underlying mechanism for overcoming the conventional detrimental critical thickness effect is attributed to facile interfacial inversion symmetry breaking by robust in-plane polarization of SnS or GeSe. Furthermore, when invoking interlayer sliding, we can stabilize multiple polarization states and achieve efficient interstate switching in the heterostructures, accompanied by dynamical ferroelectric skyrmionic excitations. When invoking sliding and twisting, the moiré domains exhibit nontrivial polar vortexes, which can be laterally displaced via different sliding schemes. These findings provide an intuitive avenue for simultaneously overcoming the standing critical thickness issue in bulk ferroelectrics and weak polarization issue in sliding ferroelectricity.

BACKGROUND: The harmonization status of most tumor markers (TMs) is unknown. We report a feasibility study performed to determine whether external quality assessment (EQA) programs can be used to obtain insights into the current harmonization status of the tumor markers α-fetoprotein (AFP), prostate specific antigen (PSA), carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), cancer antigen (CA)125, CA15-3 and CA19-9. METHODS: EQA sample results provided by 6 EQA providers (INSTAND [Germany], Korean Association of External Quality Assessment Service [KEQAS, South Korea], National Center for Clinical Laboratories [NCCL, China], United Kingdom National External Quality Assessment Service [UK NEQAS, United Kingdom], Stichting Kwaliteitsbewaking Medische Laboratoriumdiagnostiek [SKML, the Netherlands], and the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia Quality Assurance Programs [RCPAQAP, Australia]) between 2020 and 2021 were used. The consensus means, calculated from the measurement procedures present in all EQA programs (Abbott Alinity, Beckman Coulter DxI, Roche Cobas, and Siemens Atellica), was used as reference values. Per measurement procedure, the relative difference between consensus mean for each EQA sample and the mean of all patient-pool-based EQA samples were calculated and compared to minimum, desirable, and optimal allowable bias criteria based on biological variation. RESULTS: Between 19040 (CA15-3) and 25398 (PSA) individual results and 56 (PSA) to 76 (AFP) unique EQA samples were included in the final analysis. The mean differences with the consensus mean of patient-pool-based EQA samples for all measurement procedures were within the optimum bias criterion for AFP, the desirable bias for PSA, and the minimum bias criterion for CEA. However, CEA results <8 µg/L exceeded the minimum bias criterion. For CA125, CA15-3, and CA19-9, the harmonization status was outside the minimum bias criterion, with systematic differences identified. CONCLUSIONS: This study provides relevant information about the current harmonization status of 6 tumor markers. A pilot harmonization investigation for CEA, CA125, CA15-3, and CA19-9 would be desirable.

RESUMO

"Neurodegenerative disorder" is an umbrella term for a group of fatal progressive neurological illnesses characterized by neuronal loss and inflammation. Interleukin-6 (IL-6), a pleiotropic cytokine, significantly affects the activities of nerve cells and plays a pivotal role in neuroinflammation. Furthermore, as high levels of IL-6 have been frequently observed in association with several neurodegenerative disorders, it may potentially be used as a biomarker for the progression and prognosis of these diseases. This review summarizes the production and function of IL-6 as well as its downstream signaling pathways. Moreover, we make a comprehensive review on the roles of IL-6 in neurodegenerative disorders and its potential clinical application.

OBJECTIVES: Accurate measurements of renin and aldosterone levels play an important role in primary aldosteronism screening, which is of great importance in the management and categorization of hypertension. The objective of this study is to investigate the current status of plasma renin and aldosterone measurements in China, which is achieved by analyzing the results of 526 clinical laboratories nationwide for three pooled fresh plasma samples derived from more than 2,000 patients. METHODS: Renin and aldosterone in three pooled plasma samples were measured four times in 526 laboratories employing various measurement systems. The inter- and intra-laboratory %CV were calculated and compared. To determine the source of the substantial inter-laboratory %CV, laboratories were categorized according to the measurement systems they are using, and both the inter- and intra-measurement-system %CV were calculated and compared. RESULTS: Regarding renin, the majority of laboratories use four primary commercial immunoassays. However, for aldosterone, in addition to commercial immunoassays, laboratory-developed liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS) methods are also used by laboratories. The median values of intra-laboratory %CVs, intra-measurement-system %CVs, inter-laboratory %CVs, and inter-measurement systems %CVs varied between 1.6 and 2.6 %, 4.6 and 14.9 %, 8.3 and 25.7 %, and 10.0 and 34.4 % for renin, respectively. For aldosterone, these values ranged from 1.4 to 2.2 %, 2.5-14.7 %, 9.9-31.0 %, and 10.0-35.5 %, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: The precision within laboratories and measurement systems for plasma renin and aldosterone measurements is satisfactory. However, the comparability between laboratories using different measurement systems remains lacking, indicating the long way to achieve standardization and harmonization for these two analytes.

OBJECTIVES: The standardization of cystatin C (CysC) measurement has received increasing attention in recent years due to its importance in estimating glomerular filtration rate (GFR). Mass spectrometry-based assays have the potential to provide an accuracy base for CysC measurement. However, a precise, accurate and sustainable LC-MS/MS method for CysC is still lacking. METHODS: The developed LC-MS/MS method quantified CysC by detecting signature peptide (T3) obtained from tryptic digestion. Stable isotope labeled T3 peptide (SIL-T3) was spiked to control matrix effects and errors caused by liquid handling. The protein denaturation, reduction and alkylation procedures were combined into a single step with incubation time of 1 h, and the digestion lasted for 3.5 h. In the method validation, digestion time-course, imprecision, accuracy, matrix effect, interference, limit of quantification (LOQ), carryover, linearity, and the comparability to two routine immunoassays were evaluated. RESULTS: No significant matrix effect or interference was observed with the CysC measurement. The LOQ was 0.21 mg/L; the within-run and total imprecision were 1.33-2.05 % and 2.18-3.90 % for three serum pools (1.18-5.34 mg/L). The LC-MS/MS method was calibrated by ERM-DA471/IFCC and showed good correlation with two immunoassays traceable to ERM-DA471/IFCC. However, significant bias was observed for immunoassays against the LC-MS/MS method. CONCLUSIONS: The developed LC-MS/MS method is robust and simpler and holds the promise to provide an accuracy base for routine immunoassays, which will promote the standardization of CysC measurement.

BACKGROUND: This study aimed to develop an integrated model for predicting the occurrence of postoperative seizures in patients with diffuse high-grade gliomas (DHGGs) using clinical and RNA-seq data. METHODS: Patients with DHGGs, who received prophylactic anti-epileptic drugs (AEDs) for three months following surgery, were enrolled into the study. The patients were assigned randomly into training (n = 166) and validation (n = 42) cohorts. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified based on preoperative glioma-related epilepsy (GRE) history. Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) logistic regression analysis was used to construct a predictive gene-signature for the occurrence of postoperative seizures. The final integrated prediction model was generated using the gene-signature and clinical data. Receiver operating characteristic analysis and calibration curve method were used to evaluate the accuracy of the gene-signature and prediction model using the training and validation cohorts. RESULTS: A seven-gene signature for predicting the occurrence of postoperative seizures was developed using LASSO logistic regression analysis of 623 DEGs. The gene-signature showed satisfactory predictive capacity in the training cohort [area under the curve (AUC) = 0.842] and validation cohort (AUC = 0.751). The final integrated prediction model included age, temporal lobe involvement, preoperative GRE history, and gene-signature-derived risk score. The AUCs of the integrated prediction model were 0.878 and 0.845 for the training and validation cohorts, respectively. CONCLUSION: We developed an integrated prediction model for the occurrence of postoperative seizures in patients with DHGG using clinical and RNA-Seq data. The findings of this study may contribute to the development of personalized management strategies for patients with DHGGs and improve our understanding of the mechanisms underlying GRE in these patients.

Using this approach, a series of diversely substituted indanone-fused cyclopentane polycycles with highly crowded multiple substituents were synthesized in high yields.

OBJECTIVES: This study aims to investigate and update the consistency and comparability of plasma renin activity (PRA) assays in measuring clinical samples. The contributions of recalibration, blank subtraction, and incubation strategies to interchangeability were also explored. METHODS: Five different laboratories were evaluated using forty-six individual plasma samples, including four liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC‒MS/MS) assays and one chemiluminescence immunoassay (CLIA). Spearman correlation coefficient (R), Passing-Bablok regression, and Bland‒Altman plot analyses were used to evaluate the consistency among assays. Consistency before and after recalibration, blank subtraction, and incubation strategy unification was compared. RESULTS: A good correlation was observed among all assays (R>0.93). None of the samples measured by all assays showed coefficient variation (CV) <10 %, and 37 % of samples showed overall CVs >20 %. The 95 % confidence intervals (CIs) for slopes did not contain 1 for most assay pairs. Large relative biases (-85.1-104.2 %) were found, and 76 % (52-93 %) of samples had unacceptable biases. Recalibration reduced the calibration bias. Ignoring blank subtraction improved the comparability across all assays while unifying incubation did not. CONCLUSIONS: The interchangeability of PRA measurement was unsatisfying. Harmonization on calibrator and ignoring blank were recommended. Unifying incubation strategy was unnecessary.

OBJECTIVES: Except for the large bias of some measurement systems for serum cystatin C (CysC) measurements, unacceptable imprecision has been observed for the heterogenous system. This study analyzed the external quality assessment (EQA) results in 2018-2021 to provide an insight into the imprecision of CysC assays. METHODS: Five EQA samples were sent to participating laboratories every year. Participants were divided into reagent/calibrator-based peer groups, for which the robust mean of each sample and robust coefficient of variation (CV) were calculated by Algorithm A from ISO 13528. Peers with more than 12 participants per year were selected for further analysis. The limit of CV was determined to be 4.85% based on clinical application requirements. The concentration-related effect on CVs was investigated using logarithmic curve fitting; the difference in medians and robust CVs between instrument-based subgroups was also evaluated. RESULTS: The total number of participating laboratories increased from 845 to 1,695 in four years and heterogeneous systems remained the mainstream (≥85%). Of 18 peers with ≥12 participants, those using homogeneous systems showed relatively steady and small CVs over four years, with the mean four-year CVs ranging from 3.21 to 3.68%. Some peers using heterogenous systems showed reduced CVs over four years, while 7/15 still had unacceptable CVs in 2021 (5.01-8.34%). Six peers showed larger CVs at the low or high concentrations, and some instrument-based subgroups presented greater imprecision than others. CONCLUSIONS: More efforts should be made to improve the imprecision of heterogeneous systems for CysC measurement.

OBJECTIVES: To find suitable external quality assessment (EQA) materials for serum C-peptide, we evaluated the commutability of five types of processed materials. METHODS: Seventy-four individual serum samples and 12 processed samples including three EQA samples currently in use, frozen human serum pools (FHSP), and three other kinds of processed samples were prepared by dissolving WHO International Standard Reagent for C-peptide (WHO ISR 13/146) in three different matrixes: 0.05 % bovine serum albumin, fetal bovine serum and human serum pools. Samples were analyzed using the isotope dilution liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (ID-LC-MS/MS) method and six widely used immunoassays. The commutabilities of processed materials were assessed according to the difference in bias approach recommended by the IFCC. And the short- and long-term stability of FHSP samples at different temperatures were also evaluated. RESULTS: Out of the five kinds of processed materials, FHSP samples were commutable on most assays. In contrast, the EQA materials currently in use were only commutable on a few immunoassays. Additionally, processed materials derived from WHO ISR 13/146 were found to be un-commutable on over half of immunoassays. The FHSP samples could be stably stored at 4 and -20 °C for at least 16 days, and at -80 °C for at least 1 year, but at room temperature only for 12 h. CONCLUSIONS: With clarified commutability and stability information, the human serum pool samples along with the developed ID-LC-MS/MS method could be used in the EQA program to promote the comparability among laboratories for C-peptide measurement in China.

BACKGROUND: Laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT) has been used to treat brain metastases (BMs) in several countries, and its safety and effectiveness have been confirmed. In most cases, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) reveals an increase in tumor volume with an enhanced margin after LITT. However, little is known about the relationship between this MRI change and tumor recurrence. OBJECTIVE: We report the first case series of BMs treated by LITT in China to evaluate the clinical characteristics and predictive factors of tumor recurrence. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Patients with less than four brain metastatic lesions and a Karnofsky performance status (KPS) > 70 were eligible for study inclusion. Standard LITT procedures were performed, and a follow-up MRI was performed to analyze the radiographic changes, especially the volume ratio of the enhanced margin and the whole lesion on MRI at 30 days postoperatively. All the volume-related data were delineated and calculated using 3D Slicer software. Related predictors were also collected to evaluate the correlation with local tumor control. RESULTS: Eighteen patients with nineteen lesions were enrolled for treatment and follow-up. Primary tumor histology included pulmonary carcinoma (n = 11) and breast cancer (n = 4). On average, the tumor size measured 3.01 cm3 (range, 0.40-7.40 cm3), the total ablation time was 13.58 min (range, 2.88-37.15 min), and the complete ablation rate was 92.4% (range, 29.2-100%). Comparing 3s0-day follow-up MRI results with preoperative MRI findings, 18 lesions showed a 2.28-fold (range, 1.21-4.88) volume increase; all the lesions displayed an enhanced component with a volume ratio of 42.35% (range, 10.14-100%). Five patients experienced tumor recurrence, and the local tumor control rates at 90 days and 180 days of follow-up were 68.4% and 66.7%, respectively. Univariate analysis indicated that the primary tumor, ablation rate, and enhanced volume ratio (EVR) > 40% in the 30-day MRI were associated with tumor recurrence, whereas multivariate analysis showed that only EVR > 40% was a predictive factor of local control. CONCLUSION: LITT is a minimally invasive method used to ablate brain metastases which can be used as the first-line treatment for BM patients under certain indications. After LITT, most tumors showed volume enlargement on the 30-day MRI scan, and EVR > 40% on the 30-day MRI may indicate late tumor recurrence.

Messenger RNA (mRNA) and long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) targets interact via competitive microRNA (miRNA) binding. However, the roles of cancer-specific lncRNAs in the competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) networks of low-grade glioma (LGG) remain unclear. This study obtained RNA sequencing data for normal solid tissue and LGG primary tumour tissue from The Cancer Genome Atlas database. We used a computational method to analyse the relationships among the mRNAs, lncRNAs, and miRNAs in these samples. Gene ontology (GO) function and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis was used to predict the biological processes (BPs) and pathways associated with these genes. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis was used to evaluate the association between the expression levels of specific mRNAs, lncRNAs, and miRNAs and overall survival. Finally, we created a ceRNA network describing the relationships among these mRNAs, lncRNAs, and miRNAs using Cytoscape 3.5.1. A total of 2555 differentially expressed (DE) mRNAs, 218 DElncRNAs, and 192 DEmiRNAs were identified using R. In addition, GO and KEGG pathway analysis of the mRNAs and lncRNAs in the ceRNA network identified 10 BPs, 10 cell components, 10 molecular functions, and 48 KEGG pathways as selectively enriched. A total of 55 lncRNAs, 50 miRNAs, and 10 mRNAs from this network were shown to be closely associated with overall survival in LGG. Finally, 59 miRNAs, 235 mRNAs, and 17 lncRNAs were used to develop a ceRNA network comprising 313 nodes and 1046 edges. This study helps expand our understanding of ceRNA networks and serves to clarify the underlying pathogenesis mechanism of LGG.

OBJECTIVES: Accurate measurement of serum folate is essential for the diagnosis and management of various disorders. This study aims to investigate the between-method differences of four immunoassays and a rapid isotope-dilution liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (ID-LC-MS/MS) method. METHODS: Roche Cobas (USA), Abbott Alinity i2000 (USA), Beckman Coulter Access (USA), Mindray CL-6000i (China), and the ID-LC-MS/MS method were compared using 46 human serum samples. The results were analysed by Passing-Bablok regressions and Bland-Altman plots. A bias of 13.31% based on biological variation was used as the bias criterion. RESULTS: All the within-run and total coefficients of variation (CVs) met the specification. The folate concentrations determined by all the assays were significantly different (p=0.0028). All assays had correlation coefficients over 0.97 with each other. The 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for the slope seldom contained 1 and few 95% CIs for the intercept contained 0 in the regression equations. Compared to ID-LC-MS/MS, the biases of all assays ranged from -20.91 to 13.56 nmol/L, and the mean relative biases ranged from -9.85 to 40.33%. The predicted mean relative biases at the medical decision levels rarely met the criterion. CONCLUSIONS: Assays for serum folate had good correlations with each other but lacked good agreement. The accuracy and consistency of assays for serum folate should be measured and assessed routinely. Standardization work to improve the accuracy of serum folate assays, such as the extension of traceability to reference methods or materials, calibration standardization efforts, and assay-adjusted cut-offs should be promoted.

OBJECTIVES: A trueness-based EQA/PT program for high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) was initiated. We analyzed the 4 year EQA/PT program to overview the measurement standardization for HDL-C in China. METHODS: Two levels of freshly frozen, commutable serum external quality assessment/proficiency testing (EQA/PT) materials were prepared and determined by reference measurement procedure each year. The samples were delivered to clinical laboratories and measured 15 times in 3 days. The precision [coefficient of variation (CV)], trueness (bias), and accuracy [total error (TE)] were calculated and used to evaluate measurement performance. The pass rates of individual laboratories and peer groups were analyzed using the acceptable performance from the National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP) and biological variation as the evaluation criteria. RESULTS: More than 60% of laboratories use heterogeneous systems, and there was a decrease in the percentage from 2016 to 2019. About 95, 78, and 33% of laboratories met the minimum, desirable and optimum TE criteria derived from biological variation. The pass rates were 87.0% (84.7-88.8%), 58.7% (55.3-62.4%), and 97.3% (95.6-98.3%) that met the acceptable performance of TE, bias, and CV of NCEP. The homogeneous systems had higher pass rates of TE, bias, and CV than the heterogeneous groups in 2016, but they did not show apparent advantages in 2017-2019. CONCLUSIONS: The trueness-based EQA/PT program can be used to evaluate the accuracy, reproducibility, and trueness of results. For some IVD manufacturers and individual laboratories, accuracy, especially trueness, are still problems. Efforts should be made to improve the situation and achieve better HDL-C measurement standardization.

OBJECTIVES: The Pediatric Reference Intervals in China (PRINCE) was initiated to establish the reference intervals (RIs) of Chinese children, as well as to make it possible to compare the variability of biochemical markers among countries internationally. METHODS: Healthy participants, aged up to 20 years, from 11 provinces across China, were enrolled in PRINCE and according to a standard screening procedure, that included a questionnaire survey, physical examinations and laboratory tests. Fasting venous blood specimens were collected. All serum specimens were analyzed with Cobas C702 in the center laboratory, i.e. clinical laboratory of Beijing Children's Hospital, with certified qualification (ISO15189). The nonparametric method recommended by Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute guidelines, was used to calculate the age- and sex-specified RIs. RESULTS: Among the 15,150 participants enrolled, 12,352 children (6,093 males and 6,259 females) were included to calculate RIs. The RIs for total protein, albumin, globulin, calcium, phosphate, potassium, sodium, chlorine, alkaline phosphatase, γ-glutamyl transpeptadase, alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, creatinine and urea were established by age- or sex-partitions. Most biochemical markers displayed larger variability and higher dispersion during the periods between 28 days and 1 year old, and included 4-6 age partitions commonly during 1 to <20 years old. In addition, differences of RIs between sexes usually occurs around the initiation of puberty at 12-13 years old. CONCLUSIONS: The age- and sex-specified RIs of 14 biochemical markers in PRINCE study can provide a solid reference, which will be transferred into relevant RIs for other clinical laboratory's platforms according to the CLSI guidelines.
