ABSTRACT
Retinitis pigmentosa (RP) comprises a series of hereditary, degenerative disease of the retina. The diseases are characterized by progressive, diffuse apoptosis of the fotoreceptor cells and pigment epithelium(PE), one of the many theories on the pathogenesis of this disease is that autoimmunity may be involved. The objective was to know the immunologic alterations these patients with retinitis. We found 42 per cent of holding de high ICC and 30 per cent hemolytic complement activity. The ranging from the ages more affected was between 46-60 years old. The dominant autosomal variant (57,1 per cent) and the sex- linked (100,0per cent) were more elevated than the others variants(AU)
