RESUMEN

Alkaline phosphatase examined in the bull olfactory mucosa receptor cells using a cytochemical method for its activity is found to be a marker of neurogenesis and differentiation of the receptor cells. The enzyme localization is shown to change with the production of a receptor neuron dendrite and axon. The role alkaline phosphatase may play in the transmembrane and intracellular transport of substances and in microtubular structure polymerization during the cell differentiation is discussed.

RESUMEN

Biochemical and electrophoretic characteristics of enzyme alkaline phosphatase and its localization in the bull's olfactory mucose structures have been investigated. The activity of enzymes was found to change with odour stimulation. Using electron microscope histochemistry a considerable activity of this enzyme has been demonstrated in the structures secreting olfactory mucus, and in the mucus itself, with alkaline phosphatase macromolecules being concentrated on the surface membrane of olfactory cilia, forming a layer around these. The activity of alkaline phosphatase was found in some receptor cells. The electrophoretic analysis allowed to find five molecular forms of alkaline phosphatase, having different substrate specificity. Isoenzymes II and III, splitting alpha-sodium naphthylphosphate, displayed similar properties with those of intestinal serum isoenzymes. Other three of the five isoenzymes of olfactorymucose have no analogues in the serum that could be regarded as a possible involvement in olfactory epithelium of phosphatases performing specific functions typical of this receptor organ.

RESUMEN

For disclosing the character of the immunological reactivity disturbances in atherosclerotic discirculatory encephalopathy the humoral and tissue immunity was examined in 160 patients. Signs of an increase of the hypersensitivity (both immediate and delayed) to local antigens were revealed, these signs correlating with the stage of the encephalopathy development. The changes discovered may be of a diagnostic and prognostic value in chronic forms of vascular encephalopathies.

RESUMEN

The paper deals with the isoenzymic LDG composition in different sections of Pacinian corpuscles. It is found that intracapsular liquid has the aerobic LDG spectrum. The stromal part of the receptor including lamellar capsule structures, inner cone and nerve endings has the anaerobic LDG spectrum. A conclusion is drawn that LDG aerobic LDG spectrum in the intracapsular liquid of Pacinian corpuscles confirms that the liquid is well saturated with oxygen.

RESUMEN

A quantitative and qualitative biochemical investigation was carried out for the composition of water-soluble proteins in preparation of the bull's olfactory mucosa scrape. Comparing the results with those obtained for a similar preparation of a nonsensory nature (a preparation of a respiratory epithelium scrape) the authors found that the most electrically-mobile protein fractions differ in their physical properties and number. A reaction for glycoproteins showed that with an alcian blue an appropriate colour for acidic glycoproteins is given only by two protein fractions. The most electrically-mobile fraction with its visual colour of an olfactory pigment is probably identical to its water-soluble component absorbed on phosphatides. The second, weakly mobile protein is the main acidic glycoprotein of the olfactory mucus and besides it has a reaction for on alkaline phosphatase.

RESUMEN

192 patients, aged 33 to 67 years, predominantly after abdominal and small pelvic surgery have been examined. Non-conventional techniques of analgesia were used in most of patients: central electroanalgesia, transcutaneous peripheral and paravertebral electroanalgesia, corporal and auricular acupuncture. To ensure postoperative pain relief various types of electrical stimulation were applied using home-made devices, The efficacy of non-conventional anesthesia techniques in the postoperative period has been confirmed.

RESUMEN

An analysis of a 121-day of intensive-care therapy of peritonitis and concomitant complications in a patient with Pickwick syndrome and somnolent apnea syndrome is reported. Right hemicolectomy was implemented in the patient for peritonitis, which developed on the 2nd day as a result of perforation of the blind gut at a place of tumor removed in a scheduled colonofibroscopy (CFS). The attempts of intubation of the trachea for as long as one hour failed due to the anatomic peculiarities. Tracheostomy was made. The switching-on of the patient, postoperatively, to spontaneous breathing was highly complicated because of Pickwick syndrome and the appearing dependence in the patient on the respirator. The alternating methods of respiratory support by using apparatus "Servo Ventilator 900" (Vo. Control + PEEP, SIMV, PS, regime CPAP) were a key technique of intensive care during 121 days. The postoperative cause was complicated on the 12th postoperative day by a massive gastrointestinal hemorrhage, by subsequent relaparotomy and a revision of anastomosis. The intensive-care therapy enabled, on the 80th day to transfer the patient, for 3 days, to a spontaneous independent breathing and to feed him, for 2 weeks, in the natural way. The subsequent postoperative cause was complicated by the development of massive decubituses in the lumbosacral area, and by the formation of intestinal fistula with leakages phlegmon in the anterior abdominal wall. The average cost of one day of the complex intensive-care therapy topped 5000 rubles. Because of an overweight (190 kg) the medical care rendered to the patient was complicated. The patient died on the 121 day due to intoxication, renal insufficiency and growing respiratory insufficiency. Finally, it is concluded that there is a necessity to make a motivated collective decision for carrying out any diagnostic invasive methods of examination in such category of patients; and in case of surgical interventions, the intubation of the trachea should be implemented with local spray anesthesia involving the use of fibrolaryngoscope.

RESUMEN

The aim of the study was to assess the impact of cerebral atherosclerosis (CA) as a risk factor in the development and progression of cerebrovascular disease (CVD) of atherosclerotic origin. Immunoreactions with antigens to cerebral vessels affected by atherosclerosis in 330 patients with CVD aged 46-82 years with different stages of the disease and various location of CA process was studied. The presence of autoimmune humoral reactions (complement binding reaction, leukocyte lysis reaction, modified erythrocyte sedimentation rate) and cellular reaction (antigene-reactive rosette formation) with antigenes to cerebral vessels affected by atherosclerosis, which intensity significantly prevailed in patients as compared with control groups (healthy young people and people whose age was close to that of patients without symptoms of cerebral atherosclerosis). Statistically significant prevalence of reactions with antigenes to cerebral vessels affected by atherosclerosis intensity above reactions with extracts of intact brain vessels was noted. Intensity of those reactions with antigenes to cerebral vessels affected by atherosclerosis was increased with evolution of CVD and depended on the location of atherosclerotic process: reactions were more pronounced in those arterial territories where the atherosclerotic lesion predominated. High correlation rates of autoimmune reactions with antigenes to cerebral vessels affected by atherosclerosis intensity and some parameters of lipid metabolism (total cholesterol, high density lipoprotein cholesterol, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglycerides), revealed a relationship between the reactions given and hyperlipidemia, which confirms the relationship of cerebral vessels antigenicity to the degree of atherosclerotic lesion.

RESUMEN

The composition of water soluble proteins has been investigated in different parts of Pacinian corpuscles. The Pacinian corpuscles fluid proteins have been compared with the receptor homogenate proteins and blood serum of a cat. It is supposed that proteins of the Pacinian corpuscle fluid are produced from the blood system on the whole. The composition of the Pacinian corpuscle fluid as well as a great variety of glycoproteins in it allows to suppose that the Pacinian corpuscles fluid perform a transport function.
