[One stage reconstructive surgery of the hypopharynx from clinical material of the ENT Clinic Medical Academy in Cracow]. / Jednoczasowe operacje odtwórcze krtaniowej czesci gardla w materiale Kliniki ORL AM w Krakowie.

From April 1990 till September 1991 in ENT Clinic Medical Academy in Cracow 6 patients with well advanced laryngeal cancer involving hypopharynx were treated surgically. Total laryngectomy with partial or total hypopharyngectomy was performed and then the reconstruction of hypopharynx one stage procedure using pectoralis major myocutaneous flap was done. In all patients cosmetic and functional results were excellent.

Tumors of the parapharyngeal space are not very common. The case with big tumor of the parapharyngeal space was described, primary misdiagnosed as the tumor of the parapharyngeal tonsil and then as the tumor of the soft palate. The tumor was removed finally from the external parotido-cervical approach.

[The treatment of glomus tympanicum tumors in the years 1962-1992 in the Krakow Otolaryngological Clinic]. / Guzy klebków bebenkowych w materiale Kliniki Otolaryngologii AM w Krakowie w latach 1962-1992.

Between the years 1962-1992 25 woman were treated surgically with glomus tympanicum tumors. All those patients were irradiated postoperatively and 80% of 5 years survival were achieved. According to our experience and data of the literature the method of choice in treatment those tumors should consist of surgery and radiation therapy postoperatively.
