RESUMEN
OBJECTIVES: Facial surgery for cosmetic purposes aims to improve the physical appearance and self-image of normal individuals. The aim of the guidelines is to answer questions related to legislation, patient evaluation and motivations, relevance and risk assessment, patient information and patient follow-up. METHODOLOGY: Analysis and synthesis of the medical literature through research of bibliographic databases in French and English from 2000 to 2017. Research and use of guidelines from evaluation agencies and academic societies. Drafting of guidelines with indications on levels of evidence. RESULTS: 24 guidelines with levels of evidence B (scientific presumption), C (low level of evidence) or EO (expert opinion) were selected to answer the questions. Cosmetic facial surgery must be performed by certified, qualified professionals in authorized structures. It must follow certain specific rules as well as a charter and code of ethics so as to enforce the rules of practice.

INTRODUCTION: Heart failure with conserved systolic function is frequent and attributed to the diastolic dysfunction. The diagnosis of diastolic heart failure requires the association of clinical signs of heart failure, a conserved left ventricular systolic function and a diastolic dysfunction. OBJECTIVE: To determine the proportion of cases of isolated diastolic heart failure among patients hospitalized for acute pulmonary edema. METHODS: The left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), the diastolic function and levels of NT-proBNP have been assessed at admission of 145 patients hospitalized for acute pulmonary edema. RESULTS: 49% of patients included were older than 80 years (mean age 78.6 + 0.9 years). Among the 83 patients with conserved LVEF, 25% had an ischemic heart disease, 24% a severe valvular disease, 22% an atrial fibrillation, 5% a severe bradycardia, 2% a severe hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy. Only 15 patients presented an isolated diastolic heart failure. The level of NT-proBNP was correlated to LVEF but was not able to identify those with isolated diastolic heart failure in the group with "conserved systolic function". CONCLUSION: Among patients hospitalized for acute pulmonary edema, the prevalence of heart failure with conserved systolic function is high, but only 10% of them presented an isolated diastolic heart failure. The NT-proBNP levels do not permit to identify them.

The French Society of Stomatology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (SFSCMFCO) together with the Medical Society of Dento-Maxillofacial Orthopedics has drawn up in 2015 a new practice guideline concerning the management of one or several impacted cuspids. As the previous ones, this guideline is based on a rigorous French Heath Regulation Authorities type methodology. It is thus intended to become a major reference in its field. We report hereafter the short version of the text in the same way it has been presented during the 2015 French National Congress of the SFSCMFCO in Lyon - France. Each of these recommendations is marked A, B or C according to a decreasing evidence based rating scale. Lacking any evidence-based data, the recommendation is considered as an expert opinion (AE). The full text of this guideline is available on the website of the SFSCMFCO at the following address: http://www.sfscmfco.fr/; "Recommandations de bonnes pratiques" section. A patient information sheet is also proposed by the working group. Happy reading.

The authors studied, by means of Color Doppler Imaging, a group of Normal Pressure Glaucoma subjects They found some haemodynamic abnormalities in them which differed in the various subgroups. It would seem that, for each NPG subgroup, there are specific physiopathological and clinical features.
