RESUMEN

PURPOSE: Colonic perforation is a life-threatening complication after colonic stent insertion as a bridge to surgery for acute obstruction caused by colorectal cancer. The oncological consequence of colonic perforation after emergent surgical intervention was unknown. The aim of this short communication was to investigate whether or not the perforation and emergent surgery had obviously impact on the peritoneal recurrence and long-term survival of patients. METHODS: Data of the patients who underwent colorectal stenting as a bridge to surgery in 5 years from 2012 to 2017 was collected by the Endoscopical Surgery Group of Hubei. The perforated cases treated by emergent operation were retrospectively analyzed. RESULTS: During 5 years from 2012 to 2017, 116 cases of colorectal stenting as a bridge to surgery had been performed, and 7 patients had perforation after stent placement and treated by emergent surgery, including 1 case of synchronic liver metastasis treated by one-stage metastasectomy. One of the 7 patients died of septic shock after operation, and the remaining patients were followed up for 6-60 months. There was no evidence of abdominal implantation or extra-abdominal metastasis. CONCLUSION: This small case series implicated that colonic perforation after stent insertion for malignant colorectal obstruction treated by emergent surgery might not obviously increase the peritoneal implantation and metastasis.

RESUMEN

The H → D isotopic substitution of the hydroxylic hydrogen participating in the O-H···O hydrogen bond in the tert-butylalcohol dimer produces an increase of the B and C rotational constants, according to the shrinkage of the OO distance of about 7 mÅ, underlying and sizing the associated Ubbelohde effect.

RESUMEN

To study the effects of ovariectomy on tumorigenesis and microsatellite instability (MSI) in rat colon tumors induced by 1,2-dimethylhydrazine, to elucidate the association between postmenopausal ovarian hormones depletion and MSI pathway in colorectal tumorigenesis. Forty female Wistar rats were randomly divided into two groups: Ovariectomized (Ovx) group and Sham-ovariectomized (Sham-Ovx) group. All rats were injected intraperitoneally with 1,2-dimethylhydrazine (DMH) (20 mg/kg b.w) once a week for 20 weeks. Ten weeks after the final DMH injection, all the rats were sacrificed to collect tumors. Microsatellite instability of six microsatellite loci was detected using fluorescent PCR followed by fragment analysis on automatic DNA sequencer with GeneScan 3.7 software. The tumor multiplicity in the OVX group was significantly higher than that in the Sham-OVX group (3.6 +/- 1.4 vs. 2.4 +/- 1.6, P < 0.05). The incidence of MSI-positive tumors in OVX group was higher than that in Sham-OVX group (32.1 vs. 10.8%, P < 0.05).The incidence of tumors showing MSI at multiple loci in OVX group was also higher than that in Sham-OVX group (18.9 vs. 2.7%, P < 0.05). Ovariectomy increased tumor formation and the frequency of MSI in DMH-induced colon tumors. It implied that postmenopausal ovarian hormones depletion might influence colorectal tumorigenesis through MSI pathway.

RESUMEN

We investigated the rotational spectra of six isotopologues of pyridine--Ne(2), formed by combinations of two isotopes of the nitrogen atom ((14)N and (15)N) in pyridine with two isotopes of the rare gas atoms ((20)Ne and (22)Ne), by using pulsed jet Fourier transform microwave spectroscopy. We detected the C(2v) symmetry conformer, denoted as [1,1], where the Ne atoms are located one on each side of the ring plane. The [2,0] species, with the two Ne atoms on the same side of the ring, was not observed. Two structural parameters, R and theta, that localize the rare gas atoms with respect to pyridine have been determined. The (14)N nuclear quadrupole coupling constants have been obtained for the isotopologues containing this nucleus.

RESUMEN

The rotational spectra of six isotopologues of pyridine-xenon, two isotopes of the nitrogen atom ((14)N and (15)N) in pyridine with three isotopes of the rare gas atom ((129)Xe, (131)Xe, and (132)Xe) have been measured by pulsed jet Fourier transform microwave spectroscopy. The complex has a structure with the xenon atom located in the plane of symmetry perpendicular to the aromatic ring plane. Its distance from the center of mass of pyridine is 3.81 A, and it is tilted--with respect to the c principal axis of pyridine--by 7 degrees toward the N atom. The (14)N and (131)Xe nuclear quadrupole coupling constants have been determined for the isotopologues containing these nuclei. Information on the dynamics of the Xe van der Waals motions was obtained from the centrifugal distortion and from the changes in the planar moments of inertia in going from pyridine to pyridine...Xe.

RESUMEN

Surface analysis methods for structure and characters of silane film on metal surface were reviewed in this paper. Many instrumental methods, such as XPS, ATR-FTIR, RA-FTIR, SIMS, ellipsometry, EIS and so on, were applied to characterizing different silane films on different metal base surfaces. According to the research on silane film formation mechanism, silane film state, silane film structure, silane film thickness, silane film corrosion resistance and so on, factors which affect silane film properties were discussed. Various parameters were proposed for characterizing silane film. Merits and defects of various surface analysis methods were expressed. In order to acquire more chemical information, different surface analysis methods can be combined for detection at the same time. Regarding the results from these detection and analysis, new silane treatment technique for metal surface can be optimized and improved greatly. Some other kinds of surface analysis methods were also mentioned in this paper. More advanced researches in the field of silane film analysis on metal surface were prospected.

RESUMEN

A novel method of inline coupling of microdialysis (MD) with CE has been investigated. A polysulfone MD membrane was in situ prepared at the inlet end of the separation capillary, which endued the capillary with an additional function of clean-up sampling and made the pretreatment of complex matrices simple. The properties of the membrane and its influence on electrophoresis were evaluated. The membrane cut off macromolecules and particles efficiently and persistently, and changing the components of membrane-casting solution could control the molecular weight cutoff of the membrane. Using the capillary having the MD membrane in electrophoresis, column efficiency with little reduction was achieved. The mixture of chlorpheniramine (CPA) and BSA was used to verify the analytical characteristics. Only the peak of CPA appears in the electropherograms and the RSDs of migration times and peak areas of CPA were 0.8 and 4.6%, respectively. The method was applied for the determination of glucose in human blood using an electrochemical detector. Whole blood containing glucose and macromolecules was electrokinetically injected directly into the capillary without pretreatment, and the concentration of glucose in human blood was 5.5 mmol/L. Equilibrium dialysis injection is also investigated in this paper. The results show that the method may be further used for in vivo sampling to monitor the endogenous or exogenous small molecules and their metabolites.
