[Importance of determination of the content of lactate dehydrogenase and its isoenzymes in patients with myocardial infarct complicated by rupture of the heart]. / Znachenie opredeleniia soderzhaniia laktatdegidrogenazy i ee izofermentov u bol'nykh infarktom miokarda, oslozhennym razryvom serdtsa

In 18 patients with myocardial infarction. who had died due to the rupture of the heart muscle the activity of lactate-dehydrogenase (LDG) and of its isoenzymes in the blood serum and cardiac tissue was studied. Comparisons were made with the results of investigations in donors, in persons dead as a result of accidents, in patients with uncomplicated transmural myocardial infarction, with aneurysm of the heart, severe cardiogenic shock and with other lethal complications of myocardial infarction. The highest levels of the blood LDG activity were registered in cases involving rupture of the heart. The determination of the LDG and its isoenzymes activity mat be used in assessing the degree of the resorption-necrotic syndrome intensity and of factors indicating the risk of a developing aneurysm and rupture of the heart in patients with myocardial infarction.

[Thyroid function in neurocirculatory dystonia]. / O funktsional'nom sostoianii shitovidnoi zhelezy pri neirotsirkulatornoi distonii.

Hypothalamopituitarythyroid system was studied using radioiodine tests, radioimmunoassay in 268 patients with neurocirculatory dystonia (NCD). Tissue, humoral immunity and nonspecific resistance of the body were assessed clinicoimmunologically. It is shown that eradication of chronic infection foci in NCD patients promoted positive changes in thyroid absorption, immune reactions and clinical condition.

[Heart rupture in the acute period of myocardial infarction: prognostication and ways of prevention]. / Razryv serdtsa v ostrom periode infarkta miokarda, prognozirovanie i puti profilaktiki.

Clinical, instrumental, and biochemical examinations were carried out in 587 patients with transmural myocardial infarctions (381 patients with the first infarction and 206 ones with the repeated disease). Heart ruptures occurred in 5.7% of cases. Clinical forms and risk factors of heart rupture are described. Another group consisted of 815 patients with the first transmural infarction; in 44 patients at a high risk of heart ruptures preventive therapy with pantripin and contrykal was carried out. The incidence of heart ruptures was reduced twofold in this group as against the controls. Heart rupture risk factors in patients with myocardial infarction are described. The syndrome of excessive resorption in the pre-rupture period of myocardial infarction was singled out, manifesting by increased activities of lactate dehydrogenase, lysosomal enzymes, and elevated level of cardiac antigen. Lysosomal enzyme levels were measured in the myocardium in heart ruptures. The authors have defined the notion of 'mechanical incompetence' in myocardial infarction, consisting in inability of the involved myocardium to resist the intraventricular blood pressure. The program of heart rupture prevention in myocardial infarction is presented.

[The prognosis and prevention of cardiac muscle ruptures in myocardial infarct]. / Pronozirovanie i profilaktika razryvov serdechnoi myshtsy pri infarkte miokarda.

This article is based on the examination of 850 patients with acute transmural myocardial infarction, including 48 fatal cases in the result of external cardiac rupture. Immunological and biochemical indices of all patients have shown a high rate of necrotic processes in cardiac muscle in cases of heart rupture. The authors disclose the risk factors of cardiorrhexis and give recommendations for its prophylaxis.
