RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Familial aggregation occurs in approximately 10% of cases of gastric cancer. The genetic predisposition or cause of the disease in only about 40% of hereditary gastric cancer cases is known, while the genetic factors of the remaining cases remain to be studied. METHODS: Samples were collected from a family with gastric cancer, including 3 gastric cancer and 17 healthy samples. Whole-exome sequencing was performed on samples from 3 patients with gastric cancer and 1 sample from healthy peripheral blood. SAMD9L was knocked down using small interfering RNAs and short hairpin RNA. The expression of SAMD9L was detected by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and Western blot in SGC-7901 cells. CCK-8 assay was used to detect the proliferation of gastric cancer cells. The migration and invasion of gastric cancer cells were detected by Transwell assay and scratch assay. The cell apoptosis was detected by flow cytometry. RESULTS: Twelve single-nucleotide variants and 9 insertions/deletions mutation sites were identified as candidate genes. Among them, SAMD9L regulates cell proliferation as a tumor suppressor gene. The experiments of knocking down SAMD9L in SGC-7901 cells revealed that reduced expression of SAMD9L significantly enhanced the proliferation, migration, and invasion of SGC-7901 cells. CONCLUSIONS: These results suggest that SAMD9L inhibits the proliferation of gastric cancer cells, thereby increasing the risk of gastric cancer in people with SAMD9L downregulation. Therefore, SAMD9L may represent a susceptibility gene of this gastric cancer family.

RESUMEN

The rapid spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic in over 200 countries poses a substantial threat to human health. Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), which causes COVID-19, can be discharged with feces into the drainage system. However, a comprehensive understanding of the occurrence, presence, and potential transmission of SARS-CoV-2 in sewers, especially in community sewers, is still lacking. This study investigated the virus occurrence by viral nucleic acid testing in vent stacks, septic tanks, and the main sewer outlets of community where confirmed patients had lived during the outbreak of the epidemic in Wuhan, China. The results indicated that the risk of long-term emission of SARS-CoV-2 to the environment via vent stacks of buildings was low after confirmed patients were hospitalized. SARS-CoV-2 were mainly detected in the liquid phase, as opposed to being detected in aerosols, and its RNA in the sewage of septic tanks could be detected for only four days after confirmed patients were hospitalized. The surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 in sewage could be a sensitive indicator for the possible presence of asymptomatic patients in the community, though the viral concentration could be diluted more than 10 times, depending on the sampling site, as indicated by the Escherichia coli (E. coli) test. The comprehensive investigation of the community sewage drainage system is helpful to understand the occurrence characteristics of SARS-CoV-2 in sewage after excretion with feces and the feasibility of sewage surveillance for COVID-19 pandemic monitoring.

RESUMEN

This study aimed to compare the predictive value of six selected anthropometric indicators for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Males over 50 years of age who underwent health examinations at the Health Management Center of the Second Xiangya Hospital, Central South University (Changsha, China) from June to December 2020 were enrolled in this study. The characteristic data were collected, including basic anthropometric indices, lipid parameters, six anthropometric indicators, prostate-specific antigen, and total prostate volume. The odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs) for all anthropometric parameters and BPH were calculated using binary logistic regression. To assess the diagnostic capability of each indicator for BPH and identify the appropriate cutoff values, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves and the related areas under the curves (AUCs) were utilized. All six indicators had diagnostic value for BPH (all P ≤ 0.001). The visceral adiposity index (VAI; AUC: 0.797, 95% CI: 0.759-0.834) had the highest AUC and therefore the highest diagnostic value. This was followed by the cardiometabolic index (CMI; AUC: 0.792, 95% CI: 0.753-0.831), lipid accumulation product (LAP; AUC: 0.766, 95% CI: 0.723-0.809), waist-to-hip ratio (WHR; AUC: 0.660, 95% CI: 0.609-0.712), waist-to-height ratio (WHtR; AUC: 0.639, 95% CI: 0.587-0.691), and body mass index (BMI; AUC: 0.592, 95% CI: 0.540-0.643). The sensitivity of CMI was the highest (92.1%), and WHtR had the highest specificity of 94.1%. CMI consistently showed the highest OR in the binary logistic regression analysis. BMI, WHtR, WHR, VAI, CMI, and LAP all influence the occurrence of BPH in middle-aged and older men (all P ≤ 0.001), and CMI is the best predictor of BPH.

RESUMEN

A novel crosslinked chitosan(CCTS) not dissolved in acidic or alkaline solutions was synthesized by the crosslinking reaction of chitosan (CTS) with crosslinking agent (3-chloro-1,2-epoxypropane). The adsorption capability of Pd(II ) by CCTS was studied at different pH value. The results showed that the adsorption efficiency was above 98% after preconcentration for 20 minutes when pH values were 1-4. The effects of preconcentration time, dosage of CCTS, adsorption capacity of CCTS, sample volume, coexistent elements, and elution of Pd(II) were investigated. The mechanism of adsorption of CCTS for Pd(II) was discussed. A novel method for the preconcentration and separation of trace Pd(II) with crosslinked chitosan (CCTS) and its determination in water by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry has been developed. The detection limit (3sigma, n=8) was 0.143 microg x L(-1), the relative standard deviation(RSD) was less than 5.47%, and this preconcentration method was used to detect Pd(II) in lake water and sea water with recoveries of 92%-96%. It also can be used to recycle Pd(II).

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To understand the status of knowledge awareness rates and influencing factors of clonorchiasis among the residents in 4 counties (cities) of Hunan Province, so as to provide the references for formulating the prevention and control strategy of clonorchiasis in the province. METHODS: A total of 1 224 subjects were selected by the multi-stage cluster sampling method and investigated with questionnaires and face-to-face interviews. RESULTS: The clonorchiasis knowledge awareness rates of the residents were 15.67% in Yongzhou City, 9.94% in Yueyang City, 13.25% in Wangcheng County, and 21.96% in Tongdao County, respectively. In the whole province, the clonorchiasis knowledge awareness rates of the residents were 44.67%, 56.43%, 60.95%, and 42.46% in the etiology, clinical manifestations, epidemiological characteristics and daily prevention, respectively. The logistic regression showed that the influencing factors of clonorchiasis knowledge awareness rates were the daily dining place, whether or not having the medical personnel in the family, the degree of attention to the relevant news reports, and the history of parasitic diseases. CONCLUSIONS: The level of clonorchiasis than that in other areas, but the overall level of clonorchiasis knowledge awareness of the residents in Hunan Province is not high. Therefore, the relevant authority should strengthen the health education in clonorchiasis prevention knowledge including personal daily food hygienic knowledge. knowledge awareness rate of the residents in the west-southern areas of Hunan Province is higher.

RESUMEN

The glymphatic system plays a pivotal role in maintaining cerebral homeostasis. Chronic cerebral hypoperfusion, arising from small vessel disease or carotid stenosis, results in cerebrometabolic disturbances ultimately manifesting in white matter injury and cognitive dysfunction. However, whether the glymphatic system serves as a potential therapeutic target for white matter injury and cognitive decline during hypoperfusion remains unknown. Here, we established a mouse model of chronic cerebral hypoperfusion via bilateral common carotid artery stenosis. We found that the hypoperfusion model was associated with significant white matter injury and initial cognitive impairment in conjunction with impaired glymphatic system function. The glymphatic dysfunction was associated with altered cerebral perfusion and loss of aquaporin 4 polarization. Treatment of digoxin rescued changes in glymphatic transport, white matter structure, and cognitive function. Suppression of glymphatic functions by treatment with the AQP4 inhibitor TGN-020 abolished this protective effect of digoxin from hypoperfusion injury. Our research yields new insight into the relationship between hemodynamics, glymphatic transport, white matter injury, and cognitive changes after chronic cerebral hypoperfusion.

RESUMEN

The relationship between chronic psychological stress and tumorigenesis has been well defined in epidemiological studies; however, the underlying mechanism remains underexplored. In this study, we discovered that impaired macrophage phagocytosis contributed to the psychological stress-evoked tumor susceptibility, and the stress hormone glucocorticoid (GC) was identified as a principal detrimental factor. Mechanistically, GC disturbed the balance of the "eat me" signal receptor (low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein-1, LRP1) and the "don't eat me" signal receptor (signal regulatory protein alpha, SIRPα). Further analysis revealed that GC led to a direct, glucocorticoid receptor (GR)-dependent trans-repression of LRP1 expression, and the repressed LRP1, in turn, resulted in the elevated gene level of SIRPα by down-regulating miRNA-4695-3p. These data collectively demonstrate that stress induces the imbalance of the LRP1/SIRPα axis and entails the disturbance of tumor cell clearance by macrophages. Our findings provide the mechanistic insight into psychological stress-evoked tumor susceptibility and indicate that the balance of LRP1/SIRPα axis may serve as a potential therapeutic strategy for tumor treatment.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Non-coding RNA is widely distributed in the nervous system in vivo and a significant change in the expression of non-coding RNA has been observed in a neural injury model. This suggests that non-coding RNA may serve as a potential target for resolving the challenges of peripheral nerve repair. OBJECTIVE: To summarize the mechanisms of microRNA, circular RNA and long non-coding RNA in the process of repair after peripheral nerve injury with the attempt to determine the possible treatment of peripheral nerve injury. METHODS: The first author retrieved the relevant literatures in CNKI and PubMed databases published from January 2001 to April 2019. The key words were “non-coding RNA, miRNA, circRNA, IncRNA, peripheral nerve injury” in Chinese and English, respectively. Forty-three literatures were included in accordance with the exclusion and inclusion criteria. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) MicroRNAs can act on certain signal pathways, regulate the apoptosis, growth, proliferation and differentiation of Schwann cells and participate in the repair of peripheral nerve injury. (2) Circular RNAs act as microRNA sponges to competitively inhibit the transcription in microRNA, and exert corresponding biological functions. (3) A large amount of long non-coding RNAs are expressed after peripheral nerve injury, and play a key role in the peripheral nerve regeneration.

RESUMEN

Objective:To investigate the clinical value of augmented reality (AR) technology combined with Doppler ultrasound in repairing soft tissue defects around ankle with posterior tibial artery perforator flap. Methods:From June, 2017 to June, 2020, 13 patients with soft tissue defects around ankle were repaired with the posterior tibial artery perforator flap sized 3.0 cm×7.0 cm-5.0 cm×10.0 cm. Preoperative CTA scan was performed to obtain the 3-dimensional image of the blood supply of the donor site. The origin and direction of blood supply, length of pedicle, diameter and the location of perforator were determined. An image fusion software based on Android mobile phone was used from the body surface to realize the navigation by AR, and to mark the locations of the points where blood vessels ran and passed by. At the same time, Doppler ultrasound was employed to confirm the navigation. The optimal puncture fulcrum was used as the flap rotation point in design of the flap. After the flap had been designed, the flap was harvested and the defect was repaired. Outpatient clinic follow-up was performed to evaluate the survival of flap and the function of ankle. Results:All 13 flaps survied without vascular issues. After 6-16 (average 10) months follow-up, all flaps survived. The flaps appeared soft with good blood supply. The colour of the repaired sites were basically the same as normal skin. According to American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) , the ankle function was excellent in 9 patients and good in 4 patients. There was no obvious scar formation on the donor sites. Conclusion:The application of AR technology combined with Doppler ultrasound in the surgical planning of posterior tibial artery perforator flap has advantages in easy to operate in clinical practice. It can reduce the risk of surgery, and has significance in clinical practice.

RESUMEN

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Qingzhenfang for plasmoby (chronic urticaria), and to investigate its effect on cellular immune function. Method:One hundred and thirty-two cases patients were divided into control group and observation group evenly according to random number table. The 60 patients in control group finished the study because of 6 cases of dropout, loss of follow-up and withdrawal, and 62 patients in observation group finished the study. Patients in both groups got Yiebastine tablets, 10-20 mg/time, 1 time/day. Patients in control group additionally got Piminxiao capsule, 4 grains/time, 3 times/day, while patients in observation additionally got Qingzhenfang, 1 dose/day. The treatment continued for 8 weeks in both groups. Before the treatment, and at the second, fourth, and eighth week after treatment, scores of urticaria activity for 7 days (USA7) and total symptom score (TSS) were graded. Before and after treatment, scores of chronic urticaria quality of life scale (CU-Q2oL) and syndrome of rheumatic fever were graded. A follow-up of 3 months was conducted for the patients whose score of USA7 was less than 7 to record the recurrence. Complement 3 and 4 (C3, C4), CD4+, CD8+ cells were detected, and Th17/ CD4+ and Treg/ CD4+, CD4+/CD8+ and Th17/Treg were calculated. Levels of peripheral blood interleukin-10 (IL-10), IL-17 and IL-23 were detected, and safety was evaluated after the treatment. Result:At the second, fourth and eighth week after the treatment, scores of USA7, TSS, CU-Q2oL and syndrome of rheumatic fever in observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.01). Levels of C3, C4, CD4+, Treg, CD4+/CD8+and IL-35 in observation group were higher than those levels detected in control group (P<0.01), while levels of CD8+, Th17, Th17/Treg, IL-10, IL-17 and IL-23 were lower than those in the control group (P<0.01). Recurrence rate was 25.58% (11/43) in observation group, lower than 48.48% (16/33) in control group (<inline-formula><alternatives>χ2<graphic specific-use="big" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" xlink:href="alternativeImage/19F4CEA3-4719-4fe6-AFE8-81E481AA497E-M002.jpg"><?fx-imagestate width="3.30199981" height="3.64066648"?></graphic><graphic specific-use="small" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" xlink:href="alternativeImage/19F4CEA3-4719-4fe6-AFE8-81E481AA497E-M002c.jpg"><?fx-imagestate width="3.30199981" height="3.64066648"?></graphic></alternatives></inline-formula>=4.276, P<0.05), and the clinical efficacy in observation group was superior to that in control group (Z=2.021, P<0.05). RESUMEN

Objective:To investigate the clinical value of the free fibula flap transplantation in repair of the defect of tibia and soft tissue with the help of augmented reality (AR) technology. Methods:From May, 2017 to May, 2019, 9 patients with tibial and soft tissue defects were treated. Before operation, CTA scan was performed on both shanks to obtain DICOM data of tibial bone defect. Images of the designed fibular flap and its blood supply model were imported into Sina software through computer virtual surgery assistant technology. With the AR technology, information of virtual fibula flap were projected onto the body surface at the donor site, and the operation was carried out under the precise positioning. In this group, the free fibular flap was harvested with an area of 6.0 cm×4.0 cm-12.0 cm×6.0 cm and the length of fibula was 6.0-13.5 cm. The free fibula flap were used to repair the tibial defect with 5.0-12.0 cm in length and soft tissue defect area at 5.0 cm×3.0 cm-10.0 cm×4.5 cm. Patients were followed-up to observe the survival of fibular flap and the functional recovery of the repaired lower limb, and evaluate the clinical effect. Results:All the fibular flaps survived without vascular crisis and without serious complications occurred at both of donor and recipient sites. After 8-12 months of follow-up, the flap was soft in texture and good in blood supply. The appearance of the repair site was not bloated. Callus began to form at the junction of fibula and tibia at 3-5 months and healed well in 8-12 months. No bone resorption, nonunion, loosening or falling off of screws were found. There was no pain in the shank of the recipient area. Patients could stand and walk freely, and the weight-bearing function was close to normal. According to Enneking system, the average score was 27 points; 7 cases were excellent and 2 cases were good. Conclusion:Application of AR technology in the repair of tibial bone defect with fibular flap transplantation has good clinical effect and has certain practical value.

RESUMEN

Grey matter (GM) alterations may contribute to cognitive decline in individuals with white matter hyperintensities (WMH) but no consensus has yet emerged. Here, we investigated cortical thickness and grey matter volume in 23 WMH patients with mild cognitive impairment (WMH-MCI), 43 WMH patients without cognitive impairment, and 55 healthy controls. Both WMH groups showed GM atrophy in the bilateral thalamus, fronto-insular cortices, and several parietal-temporal regions, and the WMH-MCI group showed more extensive and severe GM atrophy. The GM atrophy in the thalamus and fronto-insular cortices was associated with cognitive decline in the WMH-MCI patients and may mediate the relationship between WMH and cognition in WMH patients. Furthermore, the main results were well replicated in an independent dataset from the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative database and in other control analyses. These comprehensive results provide robust evidence of specific GM alterations underlying WMH and subsequent cognitive impairment.

RESUMEN

The aim of this study was to explore the protective effect of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) on brain injury following global ischemia reperfusion and its mechanisms. Brain injury following global ischemia was induced by four vessels occlusion and systemic hypotension. Twenty-four rabbits were randomized into three groups: group A, only dissection of vessels; group B, intravenous infusion of normal saline after reperfusion for 6 h; group C, 30 microg/kg bFGF injected intravenously at the onset of reperfusion, then infused with 10 microg/(kg.h) for 6 h. Serum neuron specific enolase (NSE), S-100B, tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha), interleukin-1 (IL-1), interleukin-8 (IL-8) were measured before ischemia, 30 min after ischemia, 0.5, 1, 3, 6 h after reperfusion. Brain water content was determined and cerebral histopathological damages were compared. NSE and S-100B were increased 1 h after reperfusion and reached their peaks 6 h after reperfusion, but were much higher in group B than those in group C 3, 6 h after reperfusion. In groups B and C, TNF-alpha was increased after ischemia and IL-1 and IL-8 were increased significantly 0.5 h after reperfusion, then reached their peaks 6 h, 3 h, 6 h after reperfusion respectively. TNF-alpha and IL-8 at the time points of 1 h and 3 h and IL-1 at 3 h and 6 h in group C were correspondingly lower than those in group B. These indices in group A were nearly unchanged. There were less severe cerebral histopathological damages in group C compared with group B, but no difference in brain water content. It could be concluded that bFGF alleviates brain injury following global ischemia and reperfusion by down-regulating expression of inflammatory factors and inhibiting their activities.

RESUMEN

Objective:To discusses effectiveness of CTA in the classification of first plantar metatarsal artery and its application value in thumb reconstruction.Methods:Thirty-six cases who underwent thumb reconstruction with free second toe or hallucis flap between December, 2015 and December, 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. Among these cases, 22 cases were injured by machine stranding, 7 cases by heavy objects, and 7 cases were injured by rolling. Exact first plantar metatarsal arteries of all these cases were evaluated by using CTA preoperatively. And compared with intraoperative findings at the donor sites. Free first or second toe flap for thumb reconstruction were designed preoperatively based on branching pattern of first plantar metatarsal arteries. Results:The origin, course, 3-dimensional (3D) anatomical relationship with surrounding tissues and branching pattern of all these feet first plantar metatarsal arteries of 35 cases (70 feet)were well displayed in CTA images, and 1 case (2 feet) were showed poor vascular continuity and artifacts in CTA (2.78%). According to the branching pattern of first plantar metatarsal arteries, 29 cases (58 feet, 80.56%) were ramifying type, 5 cases (10 feet, 13.88%) were main trunk type, and 1 case (2 feet, 2.78%) were tiny branch type. Preoperative CTA images and intraoperative findings at the donor site of 35 cases were remarkably consistent. According to CTA images, 27 cases underwent thumb reconstruction with hallucis flap, 8 cases underwent thumb reconstruction with second toe, and 1 case of poor vascular continuity and artifacts in CTA underwent thumb reconstruction with hallucis flap eventually. All these cases were followed-up for 6-24 (average 12) months, and all reconstructed thumbs survived. The clinical outcomes of all these reconstructed thumbs were good with satisfactory appearance, sensory recovery, excellent motion. The donor feet of all cases recovered well.Conclusion:High-quality 3D images of first plantar metatarsal arteries could be obtained by CTA, allowing preoperative assessment of blood supply and planning of donor site. Therefore, success rate of reconstructed operation could be improved with low disability rate of donor site.

RESUMEN

In this study, the model of Propionibacterium acnes/lipopolysaccharide (P. acnes/LPS)-induced acute liver injury in mice was employed to investigate the protective effects of Fuzheng Yanggan Fomula (FYF) on acute liver injury. The effects of FYF on the contents of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), and interleukin-1β (IL-1β) in the serum, and the levels of malondialdehyde (MDA), oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC), and glutathione (GSH) were examined in the livers of mice treated with P. acnes/LPS; The protein expression levels of Nod-like receptor protein 3 (NLRP3), apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a CARD (ASC), cysteinyl aspartate specific proteinase-1 (caspase-1), and IL-1β in liver tissues were detected by Western blot; Furthermore, hematoxylinendash-eosin (HE) staining, terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) staining, and immunohistochemical assay were used to observe pathological changes, apoptosis index, and inflammation infiltration of the liver tissue sections. All animal welfare and experimental procedures were followed by the Animal Ethics Committee of Jinan University. We conclude that FYF could alleviate P. acnes/LPS induced pathological damage and inflammatory infiltration in the liver of mice. Meanwhile, FYF decreases the contents of ALT, AST, IL-1β, and MDA, increases the contents of ORAC and GSH, and downregulates the expression of caspase-1 and IL-1β proteins. Collectively, these findings suggested that FYF could alleviate P. acnes/LPS induced acute liver injury in mice by inhibiting the activation of NLRP3 inflammasome, which provides a theoretical basis and a new drug target for the prevention and treatment of liver injury.

RESUMEN

Objective At present, there are few reports about the relationship between Chemerin and the occurrence and development of breast cancer. The aim of this study is to investigate Chemerin expression in breast cancer mice and its effect on proliferation and migration of breast cancer cells. Methods 30 Balb/c mice were randomly divided into two groups (Normal mice 15, Tumor-bearing mice 15). The 4T1 breast cancer cells were inoculated to construct breast cancer mice model. The expressions of Chemerin in peripheral blood and breast cancer tissue were detected by ELISA and Western blot, respectively. The relationship between Chemerin expression and breast cancer was analyzed. Breast cancer cells MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 were treated with different concentrations of recombinant Chemerin protein and Chemerin neutralizing antibody. Three groups were set up in the experiment, including control group (1640 or DMEM culture medium, no cells), recombinant Chemerin protein group (100 μg/L, no dilution by serum-free medium) and Chemerin neutralizing antibody group (100 μg/L, no dilution by serum-free medium). The effects of Chemerin on cell proliferation and migration were detected by MTT assay and wound healing assay respectively. Results The expressions of Chemerin in peripheral blood and mammary gland of tumor bearing mice were significantly higher than that in normal mice (both P<0.05). The scratch mobility and MTT absorbance (OD) values of breast cancer cells treated with recombinant chemerin protein increased significantly with the increase of protein concentration (P<0.05).However, they significantly decreased after cells treated with chemerin neutralizing antibody (P<0.05). Conclusion Chemerin could promote the proliferation and migration of breast cancer cells in a concentration-dependent manner, thereby promotinge the occurrence and development of breast cancer.

RESUMEN

To explore the value of CTA combined augmented reality(AR) navigation in tongue re-construction with free anterolateral thigh perforator (ALTP) flaps. Methods From December, 2016 to December, 2018, 9 cases of tongue cancer patients were treated with lingual reconstruction with the free ALTP flap. The domi-nant perforator was selected according to CTA before operation. The origin, course, locations at the level passing through the fascia lata of the perforators and digital flaps were located and marked under the guidance of AR naviga-tion technology. The flaps area were 6 cm×8 cm-8 cm×12 cm, and the donor sites were closed directly. The effect of the AR navigation was explored intraoperatively. The function of reconstructed tongue and donor site were followed-up 3 to 6 months postoperatively. Results All navigation-positioned perforators were confirmed by AR preoperatively. Intraoperative exploration showed that the perforators were accurately located. All flaps survived, and no vascular cri-sis occurred. The donor sites healed primarily with linear scars. The tongue was plump, and the function of voice and swallowing were favorable. Conclusion CTA combined AR navigation has the advantages of accurate location, easy to use and low cost in tongue reconstruction with free ALTP flaps. It is a worthy method to be popularized.

RESUMEN

Shanghuo(excessive internal heat) is a special organic state based on the concept of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM), commonly known as the abnormal heating syndrome of body in folks. With the acceleration of modern life rhythm and the increase of the social competition pressure, emotional stress has become an important cause for the spread of Shanghuo symptoms. What's more, Shanghuo can impact the body physiological functions to cause the onset, recurrence and progression of common diseases, harming the health of the body. According to the long-term research findings, the author found that Shanghuo referred to the imbalance of multiple physiological functions, such as nerve, immunity and metabolism, caused by emotional stress. "Shanghuo" is not a disease itself, but it can increase the susceptibility to a variety of diseases. This study reviewed the traditional medicine theory and the modern medical studies, and explored the relevance and correlation mechanisms between the Shanghuo symptoms and disease susceptibility, so as to provide a reference to improve the state of sub-health and prevent or treat modern diseases.

RESUMEN

Objective To evaluate the value of 3D printing technology to assist in the repair of severe damage to the radial side hand. Methods From March,2014 to September,2016,there were 9 cases suffered from varying degrees of metacarpal and phalangeal bones injuries with soft tissue destruction at the radial side of the hand. The donor and recipient areas were scanned by 64 row spiral CT before operation.Three dimensional images were obtained by CTA 3D reconstruction technology.Preoperative plan was designed by using Mirror image technology and Virtual surgery aided design technique of Mimics software virtual surgery aided design system.Nine cases were treated with first toe toenail flap with dorsal foot flap combined with second phalangeal bone transplantation to reconstruct thumb and anterolateral thigh perforator flap to repair the wound. The cutting area of the dorsalis pedis flap and anterolateral thigh perforator flaps ranged from 4.0 cm × 5.5 cm to 6.5 cm × 9.5 cm and from 9.5 cm ×17.0 cm to 12.0 cm × 25.5 cm,respectively.Postoperative followed-up was performed to evaluate the effect of the operation. Results All 9 thumbs and flaps survived after the operation.Postoperative followed-up time ranged from 8 to 16 months. The appearance of reconstructed thumb was close to normal, and the two-point discrimination was from 8.0 to 11.0 mm.According to the evaluation criteria of upper limb function of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences,7 cases were excellent and 2 cases were good. The survival flaps had soft texture, good blood circulation and satisfactory appearance at the repaired site. Conclusion 3D printing technology assists thumb reconstruction and wound repair for severe damage to the radial side of the hand with good clinical results.
