RESUMEN

Jasmonic acid (JA) and gibberellin (GA) coordinately regulate plant developmental programs and environmental cue responses. However, the fine regulatory network of the cross-interaction between JA and GA remains largely elusive. In this study, we demonstrate that MdNAC72 together with MdABI5 positively regulates anthocyanin biosynthesis through an exquisite MdNAC72-MdABI5-MdbHLH3 transcriptional cascade in apple. MdNAC72 interacts with MdABI5 to promote the transcriptional activation of MdABI5 on its target gene MdbHLH3 and directly activates the transcription of MdABI5. The MdNAC72-MdABI5 module regulates the integration of JA and GA signals in anthocyanin biosynthesis by combining with JA repressor MdJAZ2 and GA repressor MdRGL2a. MdJAZ2 disrupts the MdNAC72-MdABI5 interaction and attenuates the transcriptional activation of MdABI5 by MdNAC72. MdRGL2a sequesters MdJAZ2 from the MdJAZ2-MdNAC72 protein complex, leading to the release of MdNAC72. The E3 ubiquitin ligase MdSINA2 is responsive to JA and GA signals and promotes ubiquitination-dependent degradation of MdNAC72. The MdNAC72-MdABI5 interface fine-regulates the integration of JA and GA signals at the transcriptional and posttranslational levels by combining MdJAZ2, MdRGL2a, and MdSINA2. In summary, our findings elucidate the fine regulatory network connecting JA and GA signals with MdNAC72-MdABI5 as the core in apple.

The reaction proceeds through simultaneous C-Si bond cleavage and C-C bond reconstruction. This protocol provides a rapid approach for the synthesis of allyl-substituted benzoxasiloles under mild conditions.

Cucurbit[n]urils (Q[n]s or CB[n]s), as a classical of artificial organic macrocyclic hosts, were found to have excellent advantages in the fabricating of tunable and smart organic luminescent materials in aqueous media and the solid state with high emitting efficiency under the rigid pumpkin-shaped structure-derived macrocyclic-confinement effect in recent years. This review aims to give a systematically up-to-date overview of the Q[n]-based supramolecular organic luminescent emissions from the confined spaces triggered host-guest complexes, including the assembly fashions and the mechanisms of the macrocycle-based luminescent complexes, as well as their applications. Finally, challenges and outlook are provided. Since this class of Q[n]-based supramolecular organic luminescent emissions, which have essentially derived from the cavity-dependent confinement effect and the resulting assembly fashions, emerged only a few years ago, we hope this review will provide valuable information for the further development of macrocycle-based light-emitting materials and other related research fields.

Existing studies on the environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) neglect the inverse effect of pollution transfer from environmental regulation interactions on pollution reduction from a risk analysis perspective. Based on the regional differentiated attitudes on the environmental regulation reached in risk communication by the risk awareness biases of multiple interest groups, this article clarifies the causality between risk communication and risk transfer based on multistakeholder engagement processes; furthermore, the article incorporates the simultaneous action of the technological innovation effect and pollution risk transfer effect to construct a spatial environmental hyperbolic model with a bidirectional correlation between pollution emissions and economic growth in different regions. To verify our model, we select the pollution from agricultural watersheds in China as a sample to examine the two inverse effects. The results demonstrate that (1) agricultural watershed pollution and economic growth show an inverted U-shaped relation and a U-shaped relation in the local region and adjacent regions, respectively; (2) the pollution reduction assessment of the classical EKC model can be largely attributed to pollution risk transfer behavior; and (3) the turning point of the U-shaped curve appears earlier than that of the inverted U-shaped curve in the spatial hyperbola model. The findings suggest that stakeholders should consider the risk awareness bias caused by the imbalance of regional economic development and the scenarios that provide a "haven" for pollution risk transfer. Moreover, our study expands the theoretical connotation of the classical EKC hypothesis and is more suitable for pollution reduction scenarios in developing countries.

The pathogenesis of osteoporosis involves multiple factors, among which alterations in the bone microenvironment play a crucial role in disrupting normal bone metabolic balance. Transient receptor potential vanilloid 5 (TRPV5), a member of the TRPV family, is an essential determinant of the bone microenvironment, acting at multiple levels to influence its properties. TRPV5 exerts a pivotal influence on bone through the regulation of calcium reabsorption and transportation while also responding to steroid hormones and agonists. Although the metabolic consequences of osteoporosis, such as loss of bone calcium, reduced mineralization capacity, and active osteoclasts, have received significant attention, this review focuses on the changes in the osteoporotic microenvironment and the specific effects of TRPV5 at various levels.

Aeromonas salmonicida is the typical pathogen causing furunculosis, reported widely in salmonids. Because of multiple serotypes, the control of A. salmonicida-caused disease has increasingly received much attention. Recently, A. salmonicida infection was reported in non-salmonid fish species. Here, a pathogenic A. salmonicida, named as As-s, was isolated from cultured snakehead (Channa argus) in a local fish farm in Shandong, China. As-s displayed clear hemolysis, amylase, and positive catalase activities, and grew at a wide range of temperatures (10-37 °C) and pH values (5.5-8.5). As-s was highly sensitive to cefuroxime sodium, ceftriaxone, ceftazidime, piperacillin, and cefoperazone and also apparently sensitive to chloramphenicol, erythromycin, and 25% cinnamaldehyde. The Virulence array protein gene cloning' results suggested that As-s has this gene compared with the other two vapA-containing strains, despite a close relationship of these strains via phylogenetic analysis. Severe ulcers on skin, muscle, and abnormal liver, and hemorrhage in pectoral/ventral fins and anal region were observed, and exophthalmos were also noticed in infected juvenile snakehead, as well as necrosis and infiltration of blood cells emerged in the internal organs using pathological section. In addition, As-s caused high mortality in snakehead, consistently with its immune gene response. This study reports the first isolation of vapA-absent A. salmonicida in snakehead.

Considerable evidence now indicates that cognitive impairment is primarily a vascular disorder. The depletion of smooth muscle 22 alpha (SM22α) contributes to vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) switching from contractile to synthetic and proinflammatory phenotypes in the context of inflammation. However, the role of VSMCs in the pathogenesis of cognitive impairment remains undetermined. Herein, we showed a possible link between VSMC phenotypic switching and neurodegenerative diseases via the integration of multi-omics data. SM22α knockout (Sm22α-/-) mice exhibited obvious cognitive impairment and cerebral pathological changes, which were visibly ameliorated by the administration of AAV-SM22α. Finally, we confirmed that SM22α disruption promotes the expression of SRY-related HMG-box gene 10 (Sox10) in VSMCs, thereby aggravating the systemic vascular inflammatory response and ultimately leading to cognitive impairment in the brain. Therefore, this study supports the idea of VSMCs and SM22α as promising therapeutic targets in cognitive impairment to improve memory and cognitive decline.

Herein, a host-guest interaction-controlled photoproduct created by using cucurbit[7]uril (Q[7])-based pseudorotaxane structures is reported. The assembly exhibited controlled behavior towards the reduction of the ethylene (C=C) bond in the tetrakis(pyridin-4-yl)ethylene (TPyE) guest molecule under UV light irradiation. This can be attributed to the Q[7] encapsulation masking the four pyridinium arms of the guest, which inhibits planarization of the TPyE core to form the cyclization product. In particular, the strong affinity of Q[7] for the butyl-substituted guest (TPyE-4C) led to an unusual radical fluorescence emission of the photoirradiation-triggered intermediate of the guest molecule being observed in aqueous solution. This work provides a valuable paradigm and new insight for macrocycle-based host-guest interactions in supramolecular catalysis and luminescent radical materials.

Constructing high-quality white organic light-emitting diodes (WOLEDs) remains a big challenge because of high demands on the electroluminescence (EL) performance including high efficiency, excellent spectral stability, and low roll-off simultaneously. To achieve effective energy transfer and trap-assisted recombination in the emissive layer, herein, four Ir(III) phosphors, namely, mOMe-Ir-PI (1), pOMe-Ir-PI (2), mOMe-Ir-PB (3), and pOMe-Ir-PB (4), were strategically designed via simple regulation of the substituent moiety and π conjugation of the chelated ligands. Their photophysical and EL properties were systematically investigated. When these phosphors are employed as doped emitters, the monochromic green organic light-emitting diodes not only exhibit a superior performance with the characteristics of 50.2 cd A-1, 39.2 lm W-1, and 15.1%, but also maintain a negligible roll-off ratio of 0.2% at 1000 cd m-2, which are better than those of commercial green Ir(ppy)2acac and Ir(ppy)3 in the same device configuration. Inspired by these outstanding performances, we successfully fabricated the warm WOLED utilizing 2 as a green component, affording a peak efficiency of 42.0 cd A-1, 29.3 lm W-1, and 18.6% and retaining at 39.9 cd A-1, 23.7 lm W-1, and 17.4% even at 1000 cd m-2. The results herein demonstrate the superiority of the molecular design and propose a simple method toward the development of promising Ir(III) phosphors for high-efficiency WOLEDs.

Two new C-C and C-N bonds were formed in a highly regioselective manner under transition metal-free conditions.

A phytochemical study was carried out on the extract of Trillium tschonoskii rhizomes, resulting in the isolation of thirty-six steroidal glycosides (1-36). Their structures were established mainly by spectroscopic analyses as well as necessary chemical evidence, of which 1-25 were identified as new analogues. Herein, all the isolated analogues were screened for the cytotoxicity against intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) cell lines of HuCCT1 and RBE through tumor colony formation and CCK-8 survival analysis, and the results demonstrated that three compounds 9, 12, and 26 significantly repressed tumor colony and sphere formation in both cell lines, respectively. Furthermore, the three analogues possessed a remarkable inhibitory role of organoid formation established from hydrodynamic induced mouse primary intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. Moreover, the functional assays of flow cytometry analysis, cancer stemness related gene expression, and western blotting assays all indicated that compound 26 could significantly repress cancer stem markers. Taken together, these results demonstrate that steroidal glycosides derived from T. tschonoskii rhizomes could be potentially implicated in human ICC therapy.

BACKGROUND: Computer-assisted preoperative planning, combined with PSI has become an effective technique for treating complex limb deformities. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the novel technique in corrective osteotomy for intra-articular varus ankle deformities associated with osteoarthritis and ankle instability. METHODS: Nineteen patients with intra-articular varus ankle arthritis were reviewed between April 2017 and June 2019, including ten men and nine women with a mean age of 58.3 ± 9.9 years (range, 38 to 76 years). All patients underwent intra-articular opening wedge osteotomy assisted by 3D virtual planning and PSI. Weight-bearing radiographs were used to assess the radiographic results, including TAS angle, TT angle, TMM angle, TC angle, TLS angle, opening-wedge angle, and wedge height. Functional outcomes were assessed by the AOFAS score, VAS score, and ROM of the ankle. RESULTS: The average follow-up time was 32.2 ± 9.0 months (range, 22 to 47 months). The average union time was 4.4 ± 0.9 months (range, 3.0 to 6.5 months). The TAS angle significantly changed from 84.1 ± 4.6° preoperatively to 87.7 ± 3.1° at the 1-year follow-up and 86.2 ± 2.6° at the latest follow-up. Similarly, the TT angle, TMM angle and TC angle changed significantly at the 1-year follow-up compared with the preoperative assessment and remained stable until the last follow-up. However, the TLS was not corrected significantly. The postoperative obtained opening-wedge angle, and wedge height showed no significant change with preoperative planning. The overall complication rate was 15.8%. The mean VAS score improved from 5.3 ± 0.6 to 2.7 ± 0.7. The mean AOFAS score improved from 56.2 ± 7.6 to 80.6 ± 4.6. However, the ROM showed no significant change. CONCLUSIONS: Accurate correction and satisfactory functional recovery were attained with computer-assisted planning and PSI in the corrective osteotomy of intra-articular varus ankle deformities.

BACKGROUND: Oblique lumbar interbody fusion (OLIF) is an important surgical modality for the treatment of degenerative lumbar spine disease. Various supplemental fixations can be co-applied with OLIF, increasing OLIF stability and reducing complications. However, it is unclear whether osteoporosis affects the success of supplemental fixations; therefore, this study analyzed the effects of osteoporosis on various supplemental fixations co-applied with OLIF. METHODS: We developed and validated an L3-S1 finite element (FE) model; we assigned different material properties to each component and established models of the osteoporotic and normal bone lumbar spine. We explored the outcomes of OLIF combined with each of five supplemental fixations: standalone OLIF; OLIF with lateral plate fixation (OLIF + LPF); OLIF with translaminar facet joint fixation and unilateral pedicle screw fixation (OLIF + TFJF + UPSF); OLIF with unilateral pedicle screw fixation (OLIF + UPSF); and OLIF with bilateral pedicle screw fixation (OLIF + BPSF). Under the various working conditions, we calculated the ranges of motion (ROMs) of the normal bone and osteoporosis models, the maximum Mises stresses of the fixation instruments (MMSFIs), and the average Mises stresses on cancellous bone (AMSCBs). RESULTS: Compared with the normal bone OLIF model, no demonstrable change in any segmental ROM was apparent. The MMSFIs increased in all five osteoporotic OLIF models. In the OLIF + TFJF + UPSF model, the MMSFIs increased sharply in forward flexion and extension. The stress changes of the OLIF + UPSF, OLIF + BPSF, and OLIF + TFJF + UPSF models were similar; all stresses trended upward. The AMSCBs decreased in all five osteoporotic OLIF models during flexion, extension, lateral bending, and axial rotation. The average stress change of cancellous bone was most obvious under extension. The AMSCBs of the five OLIF models decreased by 14%, 23.44%, 21.97%, 40.56%, and 22.44% respectively. CONCLUSIONS: For some supplemental fixations, the AMSCBs were all reduced and the MMSFIs were all increased in the osteoporotic model, compared with the OLIF model of normal bone. Therefore, the biomechanical performance of an osteoporotic model may be inferior to the biomechanical performance of a normal model for the same fixation method; in some instances, it may increase the risks of fracture and internal fixation failure.

Apple production is of great economic importance in the fruit industry of China, where Yunnan Province is considered as a major producing area. A survey was conducted to identify apple trees that were problematic from March to November 2020 in Yunnan Province. Symptoms included smaller yellowing leaves, fewer sprouts per branch, browning and necrosis of the roots and lower parts of the stem bark, and wilting. 20% to 45% of apple trees were found infected and randomly scattered in the surveyed orchards. A total of 110 soil samples were collected from the root area of symptomatic apple trees in Tuanjie Town of Kunming City, Zhaotong City, and Malong District of Qujing City in Yunnan Province. Two grams of each soil sample was suspended in 400 ml of sterile water for three days and each soil extract was baited with two apple leaves (Red Fuji's). Following the baiting, those leaves were cut into 10 pieces (5mm×5mm), surface-sterilized with 70% ethanol for 30 seconds, rinsed three times with sterile water, and then air-dried. Each leaf piece was placed in a Petri dish with the oatmeal agar medium containing PCNB 20 mg/ml, rifampicin 20 mg/ml, and then incubated at 25℃ in the dark for 3 days. A mycelial agar plug was picked from the edge of the colonies and transferred to a fresh Potato Dexrose Agar (PDA) plate. Seventy colonies with similar growing characteristics were isolated from the 110 soil samples. Three isolates were retained for further analysis and named XLD8-1, SD1, and YF2. After being cultivated on PDA plates and incubated at 25℃ in the dark for 4 days, their colonies were rose petal-type and white with dense aerial hyphae (Fig 1, A). In ten days of incubation, oogonium measuring 24.55 ± 1.9µm × 20.27 ± 2.3µm and sporangia measuring 21.65 ± 1.3µm × 19.35 ± 1µm were observed (Fig 1, C, D). The total DNA of the isolates was extracted and amplified using three pairs of primers, ITS1/ITS4 (White et al. 1990), LROR/LR7 (LSU) (Vilgalys R, et al. 1990), and FM58/FM66 (COXⅡ) (Martin F N. 2000). The sequences were uploaded to GenBank (Accession No. OL960234, OK037658, OK052604 for ITS, OL960388, OM838413, OM838314 for LSU, and OM962847, OM962848, OM962849 for COXⅡ). ITS sequences of the three isolates (XLD8-1, SD1, YF2) showed 99.87%,99.87%, 99.87% similar to Pp. vexans (Accession No. AB468784, AB468784, and AM701801). LSU sequences of the three isolates showed 99.92%, 99.72%, 100% similar to Pp. vexans (Accession No. EF426541, MT729990, and EF426541). COXⅡ sequences of the three isolates showed 100%, 99.81%, 99.81% similar to Pp. vexans (Accession No. GU133560). Based on the sequence similarity and morphology, the isolates were identified as Phytopythium vexans. Koch's postulates were conducted by wounding the bases of 3 apple seedlings (1-year-old Red Fuji's) with a cork borer. A plug of mycelium of the isolate XLD8-1 grown on PDA plates was placed on each wound (Fig 1, B). Controls were set up to use sterile agar plugs as an inoculum. Seedlings have incubated an incubator at 23-26°C under the alternating light and dark intervals, 12-hours of each. In 15 days, after were inoculated with XLD8-1 the roots and lower part of the stem bark of those seedlings became brownish and necrotic, and their epidermis was easily sloughed off (Fig 1, E-G). The pathogen isolated from the necrotic root tissues were identical to the isolate XLD8-1. Symptoms of apple growth decline caused by Pp. vexans were reported in Morocco (Jabiri Salma, et al. 2021). This experiment verified that Pp. vexans causes root rot of apple. In China, Fusarium sp. is usually considered the main pathogen causing apple root rot. However, the discovery of large numbers of apple trees that were infected by Pp. vexans in Yunnan Province and the confirmation of pathogenicity of Pp. vexans on apple seedlings have demonstrated for the first time that Pp. vexans could cause apple root rot as Fusarium spp does and become an incoming threat to the apple industry, which lays the foundation for study on the disease epidemiology and integrated management of apple root rot in China. In comparison with the numerous studies that have centered on developing molecular frameworks for the functionalization of fluorescent materials, less research has addressed the influence of the side chains, despite such appendages contributing significantly to the properties and applications of fluorescent materials. In this work, a new series of cationic fluorescent probes with AIE characteristics have been developed, which exhibit unique sensitivity for charge-diffusion anions, namely HSO3-, via the interactions of ions and the cooperation of the controllable hydrophobicity. The impact of the alkyl chain length attached at the cationic probes suggested that the fluorescent intensity and sensitivity of the probes could be partially enhanced by adjusting their aggregation tendency through the action of the hydrophobic effect under aqueous conditions. DLS and SEM images indicated that different particle sizes and new morphologies of the probes were formed in the anion-recognition-triggered self-assembly process, which could be attributed to the composite effect of electrostatic actions, Van der Waals forces and π-π stacking.

BACKGROUND: Laser and intense pulsed light (IPL) therapies have shown promising effects on pathological scars, but the comparative effectiveness of laser and IPL therapies has not yet been studied. OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to compare and rank the efficacy of laser and IPL therapies to determine the most effective treatment method for pathological scars. METHODS: Relevant studies published up to February 2022 were identified by searching PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, CNKI, and Wanfang databases. We defined Vancouver Scar Scale score as the primary outcome. Both frequentist and Bayesian approaches were used to perform a network meta-analysis. RESULTS: We included 25 trials with a total of 1688 participants. The rankings based on the surface under the cumulative ranking curve for the Vancouver Scar Scale score based on the Bayesian approach suggested IPL + CO2 (96.43%) > pulsed dye laser (PDL) + 1064-nm Nd:YAG (yttrium aluminum garnet) laser (86.21%) > PDL + CO2 (82.15%) > CO2 (58.97%) > 1064-nm Nd:YAG (57.03%) > PDL (52%) > 532-nm Nd:YAG (33.28%) > Er:YAG + IPL (28.38%) > Er:YAG (26.56%) > IPL (15.03%) > control (13.97%). The ranking results based on the frequentist approach were basically consistent with those based on the Bayesian approach. CONCLUSIONS: The results of the network meta-analysis showed that the combination of IPL and CO2 laser has the highest probability of being the most effective intervention. However, our conclusions must be interpreted with caution due to the relatively few evaluation indicators included in our study. Future well-designed randomized controlled trials with large sample sizes are required to confirm our conclusions.

Due to the fast dynamics and re-equilibration of supramolecular self-assembly, bottom-up molecular strategies to fabricate well-defined and controllable multiblock structures are rare. Herein, we propose a new concept for fabrication of fluorescent multiblock microcolumns containing 1 to 7 blocks via hierarchical supramolecular self-assembly based on cucurbit[8]uril (CB[8]), NaBr and an AIEgen guest. Through the complexation between CB[8] and different numbers of AIEgen guests (2, 1, 0), the competitive displacement caused by the binding of the sodium cation to the CB[8] portal, and the reversible assembly of positively charged guests in salt solutions, one-pot hierarchical supramolecular self-assembly is realized. The molecular structure of each block is analyzed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The AIEgen enables the self-assembly of multiblocks to be visualized, understood, and regulated.

Carboxylic acids, including amino acids (AAs), have been widely used as reagents for decarboxylative couplings. In contrast to previous decarboxylative couplings that release CO2 as a waste byproduct, herein we report a novel strategy with simultaneous utilization of both the alkyl and carboxyl components from carboxylic acids. Under this unique strategy, carboxylic acids act as bifunctional reagents in the redox-neutral carbocarboxylation of alkenes. Diverse, inexpensive, and readily available α-AAs take part in such difunctionalizations of activated alkenes via visible-light photoredox catalysis, affording a variety of valuable but otherwise difficult to access γ-aminobutyric acid derivatives (GABAs). Additionally, a series of dipeptides and tripeptides also participate in this photocatalytic carbocarboxylation. Although several challenges exist in this system due to the low concentration and quantitative amount of CO2, as well as unproductive side reactions such as hydrodecarboxylation of the carboxylic acids and hydroalkylation of the alkenes, excellent regioselectivity and moderate to high chemoselectivity are achieved. This process features low catalyst loading, mild reaction conditions, high step and atom economy, and good functional group tolerance, and it is readily scalable. The resulting products are subject to efficient derivations, and the overall process is amenable to applications in the late-stage modification of complex compounds. Mechanistic studies indicate that a carbanion is generated catalytically and it acts as the key intermediate to react with CO2, which is also generated catalytically in situ and thus remains in low concentration. The overall transformation represents an efficient and sustainable system for organic synthesis, pharmaceutics, and biochemistry.

Lung cancer is the most common cause of cancer-related death in the world. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are longer than 200 nucleotide transcripts, and are not translated into protein. The lncRNA linc00662 is overexpressed in lung cancer; however, its role in lung cancer is still unknown. In our study, by analyzing the TCGA data, we found that linc00662 was overexpressed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) and lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC). We knocked-down the expression of linc00662 using siRNA, and found that silencing linc00662 significantly inhibited the proliferation and colony formation of the lung cancer cell lines A549 and H460. We also found that knockdown of linc00662 increased the expression of the microRNA miR-145-5p and decreased the expression of the platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase IB subunit beta (PAFAH1B2) gene. We further show that linc00662 binds with miR-145-5p, and that miR-145-5p binds to the 3'UTR of PAFAH1B2. miR-145-5p negatively regulates PAFAH1B2 both at the mRNA and the protein level. Loss of miR-145-5p abolished the inhibitory effects of silencing linc00662 on the proliferation and colony formation of A549 and H460 cells. These findings indicate that linc00662 functions as an oncogene by acting as a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) and sponges and regulates miR-145-5p in lung cancer, and thus may provide a potential target for treating lung cancer.

The main mechanism of hyaluronidase 1(HYAL-1) in the development of postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF) after pancreatoduodenectomy (PD) was unknown. In this study, a comprehensive inventory of pre-, intra-, and postoperative clinical and biological data of two cohorts (62 pancreatic cancer [PCa] and 111 pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma [PDAC]) which could induce POPF were retrospectively analyzed. Then, a total of 7644 genes correlated with HYAL-1 was predicted in PDAC tissues and the enriched pathway, kinase targets and biological process of those correlated genes were evaluated. Finally, a mouse pancreatic fistula (PF) model was first built and in vitro studies were performed to investigate the effects of HYAL-1 on PF progression. Our data indicated that preoperative serum HYAL-1 level, pancreatic fibrosis score, and pancreatic duct size were valuable factors for detecting POPF of Grade B and C. The serum HYAL-1 level of 2.07 mg/ml and pancreatic fibrosis score of 2.5 were proposed as the cutoff values for indicating POPF. The bioinformatic analysis and in vitro and in vivo studies demonstrated that HYAL-1 facilitates pancreatic acinar cell autophagy via the dephosphorylation of adenosine 5'-monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK) and signal transducers and activators of transcription 3 (STAT3) signaling pathways, which exacerbate pancreatic secretion and inflammation. In summary, the preoperative serum HYAL-1 was a significant predictor for POPF in patients who underwent PD. Tumor-induced HYAL-1 is one of core risk in accelerating PF and then promoting pancreatic secretion and acute inflammation response through the AMPK and STAT3-induced autophagy.
