Benign mesodermal tumors of the ureter are rare. A case of leiomyoma of the ureter is presented.

A review of the literature reveals 230 cases of adrenal cortical tumors in children. We add an additional 7 cases. Signs, symptoms, laboratory studies, and treatment of this rare rate tumor are discussed.

Eleven patients were operated on for acute appendicitis during pregnancy, in labor or during the puerperium. All patients had acute, gangrenous or perforated appendicitis. There was no fetal or maternal mortality, although three patients developed postoperative pneumonia, pelvic phlegmon or wound infection. The physical findings of appendicitis are altered by the displacement of the appendix by the uterus. The white blood counts must be interpreted with the leukocytosis of pregnancy in mind.

A case is reported of obstruction of the pelvic ureter by a parasitic leiomyoma located in the retroperitoneal space. This condition is uncommon and has not been described in standard urological or gynecological textbooks.

A case is reported of ureteral obstruction from retained retroperitoneal corpus luteum. Previously, the patient had undergone a hysterectomy and salpingo-oophorectomy with incomplete removal of ovarian tissue on the affected side. The ureteral obstruction was treated by excision of the mass and ureterolysis.

Hydrocalycosis is the progressive cystic dilatation of a major calyx due to infundibular obstruction. Two cases of hydrocalycosis are herein presented and several diagnostic procedures are discussed. A correct diagnosis can be made by proper use of newer radiographic techniques. Treatment depends upon the etiological and complicating factors.
