RESUMEN
Improving carbon emission efficiency of manufacturing is important for promoting low-carbon development and achieving harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. In this study, we use the Global-MinDS model to measure the carbon emission efficiency of China's provincial manufacturing from 2011 to 2020. To do so, we construct a mathematical model to analyze the mechanism of the interaction among internet development, market integration, and carbon emission efficiency of manufacturing. Then, we empirically examine the carbon emission reduction effect of internet development using the Bartik instrument variable method and verify the significance of market integration. Our results show that internet development can significantly improve the carbon emission efficiency of manufacturing, promoting manufacturing low-carbon transformation. Carbon emission reduction effect of internet development is characterized by heterogeneity in market integration, environmental regulation, and policy intensity. This means that the impact of internet development is more pronounced in lower integration regions, higher environmental regulation intensity and in big data comprehensive experimental zone. Intermediate mechanism tests show that internet development can promote market integration by reducing external transaction costs, so as to play a carbon emission reduction effect in the market mechanism. Our study provides empirical evidence for the carbon emission reduction effect of the digital economy and offers valuable references for effectively promoting the low-carbon transformation of manufacturing in China from the perspective of unified market.

BACKGROUND: Promoting the high-quality development (HQD) of undertakings for the aged is an important action to proactively respond to the rapid population aging in China. This study analyzes spatial differentiation and driving factors of the HQD of China's undertakings for the aged. METHODS: Based on a quantitative indicator system consisting of old-age social security, elder care services, health care service and older adults' social participation, the HQD levels of 31 Chinese provincial administrative regions during 2013-2019 are measured by using the entropy weight method. Spatial panel regression models are used to analyze the impact of population aging, economic development and digital technology on the HQD of undertakings for the aged. RESULTS: The comprehensive level of the HQD slightly increased from 0.212 to 2013 to 0.220 in 2019, and the overall level was low. The HQD of the eastern region was the highest (0.292), followed by the western region (0.215), and the central region was the lowest (0.151). The high-high cluster type was mainly distributed in the eastern region; the low-low cluster type was mainly distributed in the western and central regions. Economic development and digital technology have significant positive effects while population aging has significant negative effects on the HQD of undertakings for the aged. CONCLUSION: There is a significantly spatial differentiation in the HQD of China's undertakings for the aged. In order to promote the HQD of undertakings for the aged, it is necessary to identify development gaps through making HQD evaluation and to focus on the indicators that are critical in maintaining sustainable economic development and to develop digital technology in order to get rid of those gaps.

The outbreak of COVID-19 has underscored the vulnerability of our current food systems. In China, following a series of strategies in guaranteeing food security in the past decades, the pandemic has further highlighted the necessity to strengthen urban-rural linkages and facilitate the sustainable development of local agri-food systems. The study for the first time introduced the City Region Food Systems (CRFS) approach to Chinese cities and attempted to holistically structure, analyze and promote the sustainability of local food systems in China. Taking Chengdu as an example, the study first took stock of existing concepts and policies in China and the city, and defined the high-quality development goals of CRFS for Chengdu. An indicator framework was then developed to serve as a CRFS assessment tool for identifying existing challenges and potentials of local food systems. Further, a rapid CRFS scan using the framework was conducted in Chengdu Metropolitan Area, providing concrete evidence for potential policy interventions and practice improvement in the area. The study has explored new paradigm of analysis for food related issues in China and provided supporting tools for evidence-based food planning in cities, which collectively contribute to the food system transformation in a post-pandemic scenario.

Based on data from 286 cities, this paper analyzes the realistic effect of natural resource supervision on construction land use efficiency via the difference-in-differences (DID) method and its potential effect via stochastic frontier analysis (SFA). First, in the real economy, natural resource supervision can significantly reduce construction land use efficiency in cities with a natural resource supervision agency (NRSA), but the inhibitory effect gradually weakens. Natural resource supervision can promote the market development of tender, auction and quotation (TAQ) and thereby have an indirect impact by strengthening illegal land management. Second, natural resource supervision can significantly improve construction land use efficiency in cities with an NRSA when the degree of vertical financial asymmetry is high, but it has the opposite effect when the fiscal revenue decentralization level, regional competition level, economic development level and so on are high. Third, in terms of the potential effect, construction land use efficiency in cities without an NRSA is decreasing annually. Natural resource supervision can greatly promote construction land use efficiency in cities with an NRSA and allow these cities to catch up with cities without an NRSA. From the logical starting point of the resident effect of natural resource supervision, this paper focuses on the ultimate goal of high-quality economic development. This study is of great value for reforming the natural resource supervision system, standardizing the development of the land market and perfecting the incentive mechanism for local governments.

Multifunctional cultivated land has both sides of supply and demand, and their matches are very important to boost the high-quality development of agriculture and rural areas. The supply-demand match index and GIS spatial analysis were employed to explore the supply-demand mismatches and synergic strategies of multifunctional cultivated land. Taking the Wuhan Metropolitan Area (WMA), China as an example, we obtained the following results: (1) There were obvious supply-demand mismatches of multifunctional cultivated land in the production function, ecological function, and landscape culture function. The spatial distribution of supply-demand mismatches of the three different functions of cultivated land is different. The supply of cultivated land production function is less than the demand, while the supply of landscape culture function is greater than the demand. The supply matches the demand of cultivated land in the ecological function. (2) The supply-demand mismatches of multifunctional cultivated land have scale effects. From the 1 km × 1 km grid scale to the township, county (district), and prefecture-level city scales, the proportion of deficit regions of production function and ecological function decreases with increasing scale. In contrast, the deficit regions of landscape culture function are always concentrated in the center of the WMA. It is considered that we should improve the supply of cultivated land in the production function, protect ecological function and enhance the demand of landscape culture function. Moreover, the management of multifunctional cultivated land needs to strengthen the multiscale spatial linkage and differential strategies of the supply side and demand side.

According to literature review and the data of China's logistics listed companies, this paper firstly designs the high-quality development evaluation system of logistics enterprises and establishes the panel data model group. Secondly, the method of entropy weight-Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution (TOPSIS method) is used to synthesize and regress the indexes, and obtains that the fitting degree of the model is low, which is caused by the lack of data of some indicators in the logistics enterprises. Due to the gray nature of data information, the improved gray relational model and the three-dimensional gray relational model are constructed to study, in-depth, the strategic focus and breakthrough of high-quality development of Chinese logistics enterprises. The research finds that the innovation and the operation ability of Chinese logistics enterprises are weak, which shows specifically in the following aspects: (1) The irrational structure of the employees, the proportion of employees with a bachelor degree or above is small, and the high-education personnel fail to significantly promote the corporate performance; (2) R&D expenditure has little effect on the high-quality development of enterprises. The proportion of R&D expenses is small and cannot be translated into actual benefits, and the ability of enterprise management innovation is insufficient. According to these findings, this paper gives three lean paths for the high-quality development of China's logistics enterprises.

Industrial parks are the important carriers to promote regional innovation and economic development. The policy preferences of the government, the support orientation of the industrial park and the innovation willingness of the enterprises in the park play a significant role in promoting the high-quality development of the industrial parks. In order to clarify the decision-making process of each subject, this paper constructs a triple evolutionary game model between the government, industrial park and enterprises in the park, Matlab software is used to conduct simulation research, and the strategy selection of each subject in the process of promoting high-quality development of the park is analyzed, as well as the influence of variables on the evolutionary game. Through numerical simulation, this study finds that the strategy choice of the government and the industrial park is influenced by the cost of innovation management for enterprises. In addition, the innovation willingness of enterprises is affected by the policy preference of the government and the support orientation of the industrial park, the excessive tax preference of the government will lead to negative innovation behaviors of the enterprises, the "inward incentives" support orientation of the industrial park can stimulate the enterprises' innovation willingness on "active innovation", the enterprises behavior of "active innovation" will strengthen the "inward incentives" support orientation of the industrial park in turn. The difference of the benefits and the costs between the two support orientations by the industrial park will lead to the equilibrium points stabilized at different strategy combinations. Based on these findings, countermeasures and suggestions are proposed in this study.

RESUMEN
Against the backdrop of slowing economic growth and increasing environmental pressure, the Yangtze River Delta city cluster, as one of the largest city clusters in the world, has become more driven in its pursuit of high-quality development. We constructed a system of 24 evaluation indexes and used entropy-weighted TOPSIS to calculate and study the high-quality development index of urban agglomerations in the region. First, the level of high quality development (HQD) of the Yangtze River Delta city cluster generally improved from 2010 to 2021, with 2017 was the best year, while 2010 was the worst year. Second, in the multidimensional evaluation of HQD, Jiangsu excels in innovation and people's livelihood with 0.524 and 0.534, respectively; Shanghai (0.531) excels in coordinated development; Zhejiang excels in green and economic development with 0.557 and 0.484, respectively; and Anhui lags behind in all aspects. Third, the development process of HQD in the Yangtze River Delta region is uneven, and the level of HQD development varies greatly among the city clusters in the province. The measurement results show that Shanghai (0.511) has the highest score, followed by Zhejiang (0.484), Jiangsu (0.440) and Anhui (0.435). Fourth, spatial correlation analysis shows that Shanghai and Jiangsu are mainly distributed in the double-high region, Zhejiang is distributed in the high-low region, while Anhui is concentrated in the low-low region. The results of this study help us understand more deeply the characteristics and challenges of high-quality development in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomerations and provide a scientific basis for more precise urban development policies.

RESUMEN
As the world's largest manufacturing country, the rapid growth of China's manufacturing industry has historically relied on factor input. To achieve high-quality development of the manufacturing industry, China must accelerate the transformation from extensive factor input to innovation. The purpose of this study is to further explore the impact mechanisms of technological development policy on the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry. It selected data from 30 provinces and cities in China spanning from 2011 to 2021 for the study. Initially, it established a benchmark regression model to verify the positive impact of technological development policies on the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry. Subsequently, a mediation effect model was used to analyze the role of high-tech industry development in mediating this impact, and a moderation effect model was applied to study the moderating effect of the level of infrastructure informatization. Additionally, taking the industrial structure as a threshold variable, a panel threshold effect model was employed to explore the impact of technological development policy on the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry. It was found that enhancing the level of high-tech industries further facilitates the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry through technological development policy. The level of infrastructure informatization positively moderates the impact of technological development policy on the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry. Moreover, the industrial structure exhibits a threshold effect in this impact.
RESUMEN
As a new industry derived from the traditional financial system and enhanced by emerging technologies, digital finance is significant in microenterprise development. Based on the 2011-2018 Digital Inclusive Finance Index of Peking University, we examine the mechanism-inventory optimization and incremental innovation. We use the data of small and medium-sized enterprises to reveal the effect of digital finance-mismatch correction and defect improvement. The study results show that digital financing significantly improves enterprises' high-quality development. Further research has revealed that digital finance can effectively correct scale, attribute, phase, and industry mismatches. Digital finance alleviates financing constraints, solves the expensive financing problem, and pushes enterprises to deleverage in the economic development process. However, digital finance is still limited for companies with high financing constraints and leverage. Moreover, financial regulation can significantly improve the economic performance of digital finance. The findings provide reliable empirical evidence and policy inspiration for promoting digital finance development, deepening the supply-side structural reform of finance, better serving the real economy, and achieving high-quality economic development.

Investor sentiment does not only have negative impacts. It may also improve green total factor productivity by invigorating funds. This research constructs a new indicator at the firm level to measure the green total factor productivity of firms. We research the effect of investor sentiment on firms' green total factor productivity using a sample of Chinese heavy polluters listed on Shanghai and Shenzhen A-shares between 2015 and 2019. Through a series of tests, the mediating role of agency costs and financial situations is confirmed. It is discovered that the digitization of businesses facilitates the effect of investor sentiment on the green total factor productivity of businesses. And when managerial competence reaches a certain threshold, the impact of investor sentiment on green total factor productivity is amplified. Tests for heterogeneity reveal that high investor sentiment has a larger impact on green total factor productivity in firms with superior supervision.
