Habenaira plantaginea belong to orchid family which is native to Asia. Members of this family are commonly famous for the cure of pain and inflammation. To date, no research was found on isolation of compounds from this plant for the treatment of inflammation and analgesia nor has been published to our knowledge. The purpose of this study was to evaluate an analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant activity of the isolated compound from the most potent chloroform sub-fraction and the isolated compounds form the habenaria plantaginea. Anti-inflammatory analgesic and antioxidant potential of the various chloroform sub-fractions and isolated compounds from the most potent sub-fraction (HP-1 & HP-1) were screened for their in vitro enzymatic assays. Furthermore, prior to in-vivo investigation, the isolated compounds were subjected for their toxicity study. The potent compound was then examined for acetic acid-induced writhing, hot plate test, carrageenan-induced inflammation assays. Further various phlogistic agents were used for the evaluation of mechanism. In the COX-2 inhibitory assay the chloroform sub fraction Cf-4 demonstrated excellent activity as compared to the other sub-fraction with 92.15% inhibition. The COX-2 enzyme make prostaglandins which are directly involved in inflammation. Likewise against 5-LOX the Cf-4 was the most potent sub-fraction with IC50 3.77 µg/mL. The 5-LOX catalyzes the biosynthesis of leukotrienes which is a group of lipid mediators of inflammation derived from arachidonic acid. Free radicals can induce inflammation through cellular damage while chronic inflammation generates a large number of free radicals, whose eventually lead to inflammation. In antioxidant assays the Cf-4 fraction was displayed excellent results against ABTS, DPPH and H2O2 free radical with 88.88, 77.44, and 65.52% inhibition at highest concentration. Likewise, the compound HP-1 demonstrated 88.81, 89.34 and 80.43% inhibition while compound HP-2 displayed 84.34, 91.52 and 82.34% inhibition against ABTS, DPPH and H2O2 free radical which were comparable to the standard drug ascorbic acid respectively. This study's findings validate the use of this species as traditional use.

In this study, pEGFP-LUC was used as a model plasmid and three distinct cationic lipids (dioleyloxy-propyl-trimethylammonium chloride [DOTMA], dioleoyl trimethylammonium propane [DOTAP], and cetylpyridinium chloride [CPC]) were tested along with PEG 5000, as a nonionic surfactant, to prepare glyceryl monostearate (GMS)-based cationic solid lipid nanoparticles (cSLNs). Both the type and quantity of surfactant had an impact on the physicochemical characteristics of the cSLNs. Thermal analysis of the greater part of the endothermic peaks of the cSLNs revealed they were noticeably different from the individual pure compounds based on their zeta potential (ZP ranging from +17 to +56 mV) and particle size (PS ranging from 185 to 244 nm). The addition of cationic surfactants was required to produce nanoparticles (NPs) with a positive surface charge. This suggested that the surfactants and extensive entanglement of the lipid matrix GMS provided support for the behavioral diversity of the cSLNs and their capacity to interface with the plasmid DNA. Additionally, hemolytic assays were used to show that the cSLNs were biocompatible with the human colon cancer HCT-116 and human bronchial epithelial 16-HBE cell lines. The DOTMA 6-based cSLN was selected as the lead cSLN for further ex vivo and in vivo investigations. Taken together, these new findings might provide some guidance in selecting surfactants to prepare extremely efficient and non-toxic cSLN-based therapeutic delivery systems (e.g., gene therapy).

BACKGROUND: Properly designed and implemented eLearning can lead to improvement of dental teaching quality. Various strategies have been proposed to increase the effectiveness of eLearning in dental education, however, there is a lack of research to assess the effectiveness of these strategies. OBJECTIVE: To investigate dental students' learning performance and perception of a virtual flipped learning format compared to a virtual traditional learning method. METHODS: A crossover pilot study was conducted at the College of Dentistry, Princes Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia. Computer-generated randomization, blinded from researchers who analyzed the results, was performed to allocate 32 participants (aged 23.27 ± 0.86 years) to one of two groups. Participants in the control group were taught through the virtual traditional learning method (VTL) using live video lectures. In contrast, participants in the intervention group were taught through the virtual flipped learning method (VFL) using recorded online lectures and post-lecture virtual discussions. Learning gain and preference were measured by pre- and post-test average score differences and a modified validated survey, respectively. RESULTS: There was no significant difference in learning performance between VFL and VTL groups (P > 0.05). However, students preferred VFL over VTL and the differences were significant among all survey items, except for the opportunity to ask questions. CONCLUSION: Health professions educators are encouraged to carefully design online curricula with efficient learning strategies that help students improve learning performance and foster self-directed learning skills while valuing active learning in an online environment. For the last few years, the world has been going through a difficult time, and the reason behind this is severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), one of the significant members of the Coronaviridae family. The major research groups have shifted their focus towards finding a vaccine and drugs against SARS-CoV-2 to reduce the infection rate and save the life of human beings. Even the WHO has permitted using certain vaccines for an emergency attempt to cut the infection curve down. However, the virus has a great sense of mutation, and the vaccine's effectiveness remains questionable. No natural medicine is available at the community level to cure the patients for now. In this study, we have screened the vast library of experimental drugs of Drug Bank with Schrodinger's maestro by using three algorithms: high-throughput virtual screening (HTVS), standard precision, and extra precise docking followed by Molecular Mechanics/Generalized Born Surface Area (MMGBSA). We have identified 3-(7-diaminomethyl-naphthalen-2-YL)-propionic acid ethyl ester and Thymidine-5'-thiophosphate as potent inhibitors against the SARS-CoV-2, and both drugs performed impeccably and showed stability during the 100 ns molecular dynamics simulation. Both of the drugs are among the category of small molecules and have an acceptable range of ADME properties. They can be used after their validation in in-vitro and in-vivo conditions.

AIM: To explore factors associated with frequency of performing pressure injury prevention measures among a sample of intensive care units' nurses. BACKGROUND: Pressure injuries may be unavoidable in specific circumstances; however, most pressure injuries may be considered preventable. Nursing actions at the point of care play a significant role in shaping pressure injury prevention. METHODS: A cross-sectional, descriptive correlational design was used. Using convenience sampling method, 162 intensive care units' nurses were recruited from three hospitals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The participants completed a survey that included Nurses' Practice of Pressure Ulcer Prevention Questionnaire, Pressure Ulcer Knowledge Assessment Tool, Attitude toward Pressure Ulcer Prevention, Pressure Ulcer Prevention Barriers instrument, and Intention to Use Pressure Injury Preventive Measures instrument. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. RESULTS: Nurses lack of knowledge about pressure injury preventions. However, they possessed positive attitudes toward pressure injury preventions. Nurses faced some barriers to prevent pressure injuries. Most nurses agreed that there was social pressure to prevent pressure injury. They had an intention to use preventive measures to prevent pressure injury. Nurses performed pressure injury prevention frequently. The bivariate and multivariate analyses showed only barriers to prevent pressure injury were negatively associated with frequency of performing pressure injury prevention. CONCLUSIONS: Several factors that may influence ICU nurses' behavior to perform PIPs have been identified. The participants reflected positive attitude, positive social pressure, and intention to perform PIPs. Nevertheless, they need to improve their knowledge of PIPs and reduce the barriers prevented them from performing PIPs.

The coronaviruses belong to the Coronaviridae family, and one such member, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), is causing significant destruction around the world in the form of a global pandemic. Although vaccines have been developed, their effectiveness and level of protection is still a major concern, even after emergency approval from the World Health Organisation (WHO). At the community level, no natural medicine is currently available as a cure. In this study, we screened the vast library from Drug Bank and identified Hemi-Babim and Fenoterol as agents that can work against SARS-CoV-2. Furthermore, we performed molecular dynamics (MD) simulation for both compounds with their respective proteins, providing evidence that the said drugs can work against the MPro and papain-like protease, which are the main drug targets. Inhibiting the action of these targets may lead to retaining the virus. Fenoterol is a beta-2 adrenergic agonist used for the symptomatic treatment of asthma as a bronchodilator and tocolytic. In this study, Hemi-Babim and Fenoterol showed good docking scores of -7.09 and -7.14, respectively, and performed well in molecular dynamics simulation studies. Re-purposing the above medications has huge potential, as their effects are already well-proven and under public utilisation for asthma-related problems. Hence, after the comprehensive pipeline of molecular docking, MMGBSA, and MD simulation studies, these drugs can be tested in-vivo for further human utilisation.

The prevalence of cancer-associated anemia (CIA) is high, and the mechanisms governing its development remain poorly understood. Eryptosis, the suicidal cell death of red blood cells (RBCs), may account for CIA as it is triggered by clinically approved chemotherapeutics including cisplatin and paclitaxel. Physcion (PSN), an anthraquinone extracted from rhubarb and other plants, has shown great promise as an anticancer agent. However, the potential toxicity of PSN to RBCs remains elusive. RBCs were isolated from heparinized blood, and incubated with 10-100 µM of PSN for 24 h at 37 °C. Hemolysis was photometrically calculated from hemoglobin concentration in the medium at 405 nm, while flow cytometry was employed to investigate cardinal markers of eryptosis. Phosphatidylserine (PS) exposure was detected by Annexin-V-fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), intracellular calcium by Fluo4/AM, cellular volume from forward scatter (FSC), and oxidative stress by 2',7'-dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate (H2DCFDA). PSN induced overt hemolysis at 50 and 100 µM which was not mediated through calcium influx, protein kinase C, casein kinase 1α, or receptor-interacting protein 1. Moreover, PSN caused significant increase in Annexin-V-FITC and Fluo4 fluorescence with no appreciable influence on FSC or DCF values. Accordingly, PSN stimulates premature eryptosis characterized by PS externalization and intracellular calcium overload without cell shrinkage or oxidative damage. In conclusion, this report shows, for the first time, that PSN is cytotoxic to RBCs by inducing hemolysis and programmed cell death which may limit its success as a chemotherapeutic agent.

Venlafaxine is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor used to treat depression. Previous studies demonstrated its anti-nociceptive and anti-inflammatory activities through the suppression of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Present research aimed to explore its anti-arthritic potential. Different in-vitro assays including egg albumin, bovine serum albumin denaturation and human red blood cell (RBC) membrane stabilization assays along with in-vivo models of formaldehyde and complete Freund's adjuvant-induced arthritis were used to study its anti-arthritic effect. Venlafaxine inhibited egg albumin and bovine serum albumin denaturation and preserve the integrity of red blood cells membrane in concentration-dependent manner. In formaldehyde-induced arthritis venlafaxine significantly (p < 0.001) reduced the paw edema on treatment for 10 days. Chronic administration of venlafaxine for 28 days in Freund's adjuvant-induced arthritis model decreased the paw volume (p < 0.001), arthritic index (p < 0.01), flexion pain score (p < 0.05), mobility score (p < 0.05), and improved the stance score (p < 0.05). Venlafaxine also significantly declined the rheumatoid factor (p < 0.01) and C-reactive protein (p < 0.05) levels and increased the RBC count (p < 0.01) and Hb value (p < 0.001). Upon PCR analysis venlafaxine remarkably turndown the mRNA expression of TNF-α, IL-6, IL-1ß, and COX-2. Taken together it is inferred from current findings that venlafaxine possesses the significant anti-arthritic activity and could be a potential therapeutic option for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.

Plumeria rubra (L.) is a traditional folkloric medicinal herb used to treat cardiovascular disorders. The present investigation was methodically planned to investigate the pharmacological foundations for the therapeutic effectiveness of P. rubra in cardiovascular illnesses and its underlying mechanisms. Ex vivo vaso-relaxant effects of crude leaf extract of P. rubra were observed in rabbit aorta ring preparations. Hypotensive effects were measured using pressure and force transducers connected to the Power Lab data acquisition system. Furthermore, P. rubra displayed cardioprotective properties in rabbits when they were exposed to adrenaline-induced myocardial infarction. In comparison to the intoxicated group, the myocardial infarction model showed decreased troponin levels, CK-MB, LDH, ALT, ALP, AST, and CRP, as well as necrosis, apoptosis, oedema, and inflammatory cell enrollment. P. rubra has revealed good antioxidant properties and prolonged the noradrenaline intoxicated platelet adhesion. Its anticoagulant, vasorelaxant, and cardioprotective effects in both in vivo and ex vivo investigations are enabled by blocking L-type calcium channels, lowering adrenaline, induced oxidative stress, and tissue tear, justifying its therapeutic utility in cardiovascular disorders.

OBJECTIVE: The primary purpose of this study was to statistically evaluate age, ethnic and sex differences in the prevalence of clinically meaningful malocclusions among adults. SETTING AND SAMPLE POPULATION: A random sample of 8804 untreated US adults between 17 and 46 years of age was selected from the Third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey data. MATERIALS & METHODS: Three ethnic (non-Hispanic White, non-Hispanic Black and Mexican Americans) and three age (17-26, 27-36 and 37-46 years) groups were evaluated. Subjects with and without clinically meaningful malocclusions were categorized based on the established cut-off values. Chi-square analyses were performed to determine differences in prevalence. RESULTS: The prevalence of clinically meaningful mandibular incisor irregularity, overjet and overbite increased significantly (P < 0.05) with age, while posterior crossbite decreased. There were statistically significant ethnic differences in the prevalence of incisor irregularity, overbite, overjet, open bite and reverse overjet. Males had a significantly higher prevalence of clinically meaningful mandibular incisor irregularity, overbite, open bite and reverse overjet than females. One-third of US adults exhibited no clinically meaningful malocclusions. CONCLUSIONS: There are age, ethnic and sex differences in the prevalence of clinically meaningful malocclusions that characterize approximately two-thirds of untreated US adults.

Introduction: Globally, healthcare organizations have transitioned from paper-based documentation to electronic health records (EHR), including in Saudi Arabia. However, the adoption of EHR at the national level in Saudi Arabia needs more attention. Thus, this study aimed to determine the workflow integration of EHR and associated factors. Objectives: The specific aims were to examine the level of EHR use and workflow integration among nurses, to determine the differences in EHR use and workflow integration based on nurses' demographic characteristics, and to determine the association between the predictive factors and EHR workflow integration. Methods: This is a cross-sectional, correlational descriptive study. The data were collected from 293 nurses using the convenience sampling method. The participating nurses completed a questionnaire that included two measures: the Information System Use Survey and the Workflow Integration Survey (WIS). The data were analyzed using descriptive and multivariate statistics with SPSS software. Results: The nurses had a positive perception of EHR use and workflow. The EHR use scores differed based on workplace (P < .01), education level (P < .05), and area of practice (P < .001). Similarly, the EHR workflow integration scores varied according to workplace (P < .05), education level (P < .05), and area of practice (P < .001). Education level and workplace significantly predicted information system use. Furthermore, education level and information system use significantly predicted the EHR integration into nurses' workflow. Conclusion: The nurses expressed a greater perceived use of EHR regarding the integrated health information system, which was a predictor of EHR integration into nurses' workflow.

Habenaria aitchisonii Reichb was analyzed in this research, including its chemical composition and its in vitro antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, acute oral toxicity, and antinociceptive activity. The chloroform and ethyl acetate fractions were found to be the most powerful based on in vitro antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic assays. The acute oral toxicity of the crude methanolic extract was determined before in vivo studies. The acetic acid and formalin tests were used to measure the antinociceptive effect, and the potential mechanisms involved in antinociception were explored. The carrageenan-induced paw edema test was used to examine the immediate anti-inflammatory effect, and many phlogistic agents were used to determine the specific mechanism. Furthermore, for ex vivo activities, the mice were sacrificed, the forebrain was isolated, and the antioxidant levels of glutathione (GSH), superoxide dismutase (SOD), thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) and catalase (CAT) were estimated using a UV spectrophotometer. No toxicity was seen at oral dosages up to 3,000 mg/kg. The antinociceptive impact was much higher than the standard drug. Both the inflammatory and neurogenic phases of the formalin experiment revealed an analgesic effect in the chloroform and ethyl acetate fractions. In carrageenan anti-inflammatory assays, the chloroform fraction (Ha.Chf) was the most potent fraction. We further studied the GC-MS of crude plant extract and found a total of 18 compounds. In the anti-inflammatory mechanism, it was observed that the Ha.Chf inhibits the COX-2 as well as 5-LOX pathways. The results exhibited that this species is a good source of phytocomponents like germacrone, which can be employed as a sustainable and natural therapeutic agent, supporting its traditional use in folk medicine for inflammatory conditions and pain.

The strong ethnopharmacological utilization of Isodon rugosus Wall. Ex. Benth is evident in the treatment of several types of pain and inflammation, including toothache, earache, abdominal pain, gastric pain, and generalized body pain and inflammation. Based on this background, the antinociceptive effects of the crude extract, various fractions, and essential oil have been reported previously. In this research work, we isolate and characterize pure bioactive compounds from I. rugosus and evaluate possible mechanisms using various in vivo and in vitro models. The pure compounds were analyzed for analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities through various assays. The column chromatography of the chloroform fraction of I. rugosus led to the identification of two pure compounds, i.e., 1 and 2. Compound 1 demonstrated notable inhibition (62% writhing inhibition, 72.77% COX-2 inhibition, and 76.97% 5-LOX inhibition) and anti-inflammatory potential (>50% paw edema inhibition at various intervals). The possible mechanism involved in antinociception was considered primarily, a concept that has already been elucidated through the application of naloxone (an antagonist of opioid receptors). The involvement of adrenergic receptors was investigated using a hot plate model (an adrenergic receptor antagonist). The strong ethnomedicinal analgesic background of I. rugosus, supported by previous reports and current observations, leads to the conclusion that I. rugosus is a potential source of antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory bioactive compounds. It may be concluded from the results that the isolated analgesic compounds of I. rugosus may be a possible alternative remedy for pain and inflammation management with admirable efficacy and safety profiles.

Lung cancer, a relentless and challenging disease, demands unwavering attention in drug design research. Single-target drugs have yielded limited success, unable to effectively address this malignancy's profound heterogeneity and often developed resistance. Consequently, the clarion call for lung cancer drug design echoes louder than ever, and multitargeted drug design emerges as an imperative approach in this landscape, which is done by concurrently targeting multiple proteins and pathways and offering a beacon of hope. This study is focused on the multitargeted drug designing approach by identifying drug candidates against human cyclin-dependent kinase-2, SRC-2 domains of C-ABL, epidermal growth factor and receptor extracellular domains, and insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor kinase. We performed the multitargeted molecular docking studies of Drug Bank compounds using HTVS, SP and XP algorithms and poses filter with MM\GBSA against all proteins and identified DB02504, namely [3-(1-Benzyl-3-Carbamoylmethyl-2-Methyl-1h-Indol-5-Yloxy)-Propyl-]-Phosphonic Acid (3-1-BCMIYPPA) as multitargeted lead with docking and MM\GBSA score range from -8.242 to -6.274 and -28.2 and -44.29 Kcal/mol, respectively. Further, the QikProp-based pharmacokinetic computations and QM-based DFT showed acceptance results against standard values, and interaction fingerprinting reveals that THR, MET, GLY, VAL, LEU, GLU and ASP were among the most interacting residues. The NPT ensemble-based 100ns MD simulation in a neutralised state with an SPC water model has also shown a stable performance and produced deviation and fluctuations <2Å with huge interactions, making it a promising multitargeted drug candidate-however, experimental studies are suggested.

OBJECTIVES: To ascertain the prevalence of transfusion transmissible infections (TTIs) across diverse donor groups in the Najran province. Additionally, to establish a potential association between the development of TTI and the donors' blood group, as determined by the ABO/Rh blood grouping system. METHODS: Blood donation data of 4120 donors, spanning from January to December 2020, were retrospectively reviewed. The blood were screened for TTI markers, including hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), anti-hepatitis B core (anti-HBc), anti-hepatitis C virus (anti-HCV), anti-human immunodeficiency viruses 1 and 2 (anti-HIV1&2), anti-human T-lymphotropic virus types 1 and 2 (anti-HTLV-1&2), and syphilis antigen. RESULTS: Positive TTI markers were detected in 10.9% of the donors. The most detected TTI marker was anti-HBc (8.9%), followed by HBsAg (0.7%). Other markers were individually detected in <1% of the donors. Anti-HBc-positive was significantly elevated among non-Saudi blood donors. There was an association between age groups and anti-HCV (p=0.002), anti-HTLV (p=0.004) and syphilis antigen (p=0.02) markers positivity. The AB positive blood group exhibited the most positivity for TTI markers, followed by O positive blood group. Similarly, association was found between ABO group and HBsAg (p=0.01), anti-HBc (p=0.001), and anti-HCV (p<0.001) markers positivity. CONCLUSION: Emphasis on implementing robust screening measures for donated blood is underscored by this study. There is the need for future study to extensively evaluate TTI status to enhance our understanding of the trend in TTI.

Turning and repositioning is considered one of the strategies to reduce the incidence of pressure injuries (PIs) among hospitalized patients, as it helps to redistribute and minimize direct pressure on the targeted skin and enhance blood perfusion in the affected areas. The frequency of turning and repositioning is generally uniform across clinical settings, with most clinical guidelines recommending a substantial change in a patient's position according to their health status. Notably, the optimal time interval between the position changes has not yet been established. Therefore, this study aimed to review the current literature in relation to the frequency of turning and repositioning adult patients to prevent PIs. The author used a systematic review following Whittemore and Knafl's review strategy. The author used the following databases: CINAHL, Scopus, PubMed, ProQuest, Ovid, MedLine, Web of Science, and Google Scholar. During the search, Boolean logic operators, MeSH terms, and keywords were utilized. The researcher followed the Johns Hopkins Nursing Evidence-based Practice Grading Scale to evaluate the quality of selected studies. The search yielded 723 articles, of which 10 were included in this review. These 10 articles revealed several frequency intervals for comparison purposes: 2-hourly, 3-hourly, 4-hourly, and 6-hourly depending on the healthcare setting, with a combination of supine, 30° tilt, or 90° tilt. This review shows that the optimal frequency of turning and repositioning to prevent PIs remains unclear and further investigation is necessary. Considering the varying nature of clinical settings, there is a lack of clarity regarding a golden standard for the same. Therefore, patients' health conditions should be considered when choosing the proper frequency to prevent PIs.

We propose a scheme to control the Goos-Hänchen (GH) shift of TE and TM reflected light beams in a double-prism structure, where a three-level Raman gain medium is filling the gap between the two prisms. We find that it is possible to control the GH shift in this structure by externally adjusting the optical properties of the Raman gain atomic medium while the gap width between the two prisms is fixed. Inspired by recent successful implementation of the double-prism configuration with an air gap to measure the GH shift, we expected that our proposal to control the GH shift can be achieved experimentally and used in different potential applications of the GH shift.

We study the Goos-Hänchen shift (GHS) of a reflected light beam from a cavity containing a double-[Formula: see text] atomic medium that is bounded by two glass slabs. Applying both coherent and incoherent fields to the atomic medium leads to positive and negative controllability of GHS. For some specific values of the parameters of the system, the amplitude of the GHS becomes large, namely, in the order of [Formula: see text] times the wavelength of the incident light beam. These large shifts are found at more than one angle of incidence with a wide range of parameters of the atomic medium.

Quality is a main concern of primary healthcare centers, and pursuing quality can lead to service improvement as well as affordable healthcare. The purpose of this cross-sectional study was to describe patients' healthcare quality perceptions and expectations and determine the relationships between them and associated factors. The study was conducted on a convenience sample of 470 patients visiting primary healthcare centers. Data were collected between April and July 2022 using an anonymous questionnaire. Bivariate and multivariate analyses were conducted. Most participants reported high levels of quality perceptions and expectations. Bivariate analyses showed a significant correlation between quality perceptions and expectations. Both being single and having a higher level of education were statistically different in terms of quality perception and expectations, respectively. Further, being single, highly educated, and employed had significant differences in terms of expectations. In regression, primary education and expectations influenced quality perceptions. Marital status, profession, and perception were the only variables that significantly influenced participants' expectations. Patients' healthcare quality perceptions and expectations are important for ensuring the efficiency of healthcare services. Primary healthcare centers are the key avenue for disease prevention and early detection. The optimization of primary healthcare centers' quality and addressing its potential issues should be performed through interdisciplinary teamwork.

AIM: This research aimed to evaluate patients' satisfaction with the nursing care quality during their hospitalization. DESIGN: Quantitative cross-sectional descriptive design. METHODS: A convenience sample of 238 patients were recruited from hospitals in two provinces in Saudi Arabia. Patient satisfaction was measured by the Arabic version of the Patients' Satisfaction with Nursing Care Quality Questionnaire (PSNCQQ-Ar). RESULTS: Significant differences were found between Saudi provinces regarding the overall quality of nursing care (M = 4.65, p < 0.001). The study revealed mean significant variations between patient satisfaction with nursing care and sociodemographic factors, including age (p = 0.002), education level (p = 0.047), marital status (p = 0.017), employment status (p = 0.038), urban vs. suburban residence (p = 0.006), length of hospitalization (p = 0.001), and accompaniment by a family member (p = 0.014). Improving patients' experience during their hospitalization requires regular examination of the quality of nursing care services. PATIENT CONTRIBUTION: This research enhances our understanding of patients satisfaction toward the quality of nursing care received during hospitalization.
