RESUMO

Introduction: The current study anchors on the social identity theory (SIT) and social exchange theory (SET) to investigate the association between green talent management (GTM) and employee retention (ER), mediated by green organizational identity (GOI). Further, the study projects the moderator effect of green shared vision (GSV) in the direct association between GTM and GOI, and the indirect link between GTM and ER through the mediator effect of GOI. Methods: We collected time-lagged (i.e., three-wave) data from 495 frontline managers in the tourism service firms in Pakistan. Data are analyzed using SmartPLS SEM (V 3.3) to evaluate the measurement and structural models. Results: Our results support all the projected associations and confirm the direct relationships between GTM and ER (ß = 0.480, CIs = 0.494, 0.578), GTM and GOI (ß = 0.586, CIs = 0.517, 0.670), and GOI and ER (ß = 0.492, CIs = 0.425, 0.566). The findings further reveal that GOI significantly mediates the relationship between GTM and ER (ß = 0.257, CIs = 0.184, 0.312). In addition, the moderator effect of GSV significantly underpins the direct association between GTM and GOI (ß = 0.512, CIs = 0.432, 0.587) and the indirect association between GTM and ER, mediated by GOI (ß = 0.526, CIs = 0.441, 0.590). Discussion: This is the first study that explores a moderated mediation model to explain when and how tourism service firms can promote ER through inculcating GTM strategies. The findings indicate that service firms in the tourism industry must develop and retain green talent to exploit pro-environmental strategies.

RESUMO

Despite an escalated gravity of interest in exploring factors that shape university students' social entrepreneurial intentions, there are significant gaps in our understanding of this phenomenon. The current study examines the boundary effects of religiosity and spiritual intelligence to predict university students' social entrepreneurial intentions. The authors collected the data from university students in their final years in multiple waves and employed SmartPLS (v 4.0) for data analysis. Our findings indicate that religiosity can affect social entrepreneurial intentions through two paths: intrinsic motivation mediates the association between intrinsic religiosity and social entrepreneurial intentions, and extrinsic motivation mediates the relationship between extrinsic religiosity and social entrepreneurial intentions. Further, spiritual intelligence moderates the relationship between intrinsic religiosity and social entrepreneurial intentions, mediated by intrinsic motivation such that at high levels of spiritual intelligence the association is more potent and vice versa. This is the first study that examines the boundary conditions of social entrepreneurial intentions of university students by employing the lens of religiosity and spirituality. The paper presents substantial theoretical and practical implications.

RESUMO

Aim: This study aims to examine financial literacy's impact on individual investors' financial behaviour while also investigating the mediating role of financial risk tolerance and the moderator effect of emotional intelligence. Methods: The study collects time-lagged data from 389 financially independent individual investors from leading educational institutes in Pakistan. Data are analysed using SmartPLS (v 3.3.3) to test the measurement and structural models. Results: The findings reveal that financial literacy significantly impacts the financial behaviour of individual investors. In addition, financial risk tolerance partially mediates the relationship between financial literacy and financial behaviour. Besides, the study found a significant moderating role of emotional intelligence in the direct relationship between financial literacy and financial risk tolerance and an indirect relationship between financial literacy and financial behaviour. Discussion: The study examined a hitherto unexplored relationship between financial literacy and financial behaviour, mediated by financial risk tolerance and moderated by emotional intelligence.

RESUMO

Extant research on workplace ostracism has investigated a victimization perspective to understand ostracism at the cost of examining the perpetrator-centric view of ostracism. The current study draws on the self-categorization theory and the social exchange theory to investigate the harmful effects of workplace romance in cultivating workplace ostracism from the perpetrator's perspective to combat concerns for victim blaming. The study further proposes that workplace ostracism triggered by workplace romance provokes knowledge sabotage. Besides, the study investigates the moderating role of parochial altruism in the underlying linkages. The study utilizes a multisource, time-lagged research design to collect data from employees working in service sector organizations in Pakistan. The study analyzes 343 responses using SmartPLS (v 4.0). The findings of this study reveal that workplace romance elicits workplace ostracism, which, in turn, fosters knowledge sabotage. In addition, the study finds that parochial altruism strengthens the associations between (a) workplace romance and workplace ostracism and (b) workplace romance and knowledge sabotage, mediated by workplace ostracism such that the associations are more potent at higher levels of parochial altruism and vice versa. This is the first study that examines workplace romance as the perpetrator-centric antecedent of workplace ostracism, and parochial altruism exaggerates outgroup ostracism and knowledge sabotage.

RESUMO

Aim: The study is based on the self-determination theory and aims to investigate the mediating role of green intrinsic motivation and the moderating role of green shared vision in the association between frontline managers' green mindfulness and green creative behavior to leverage their capacity to think creatively and act sustainably. Methods: The study employs a time-lagged, multi-source research methodology to collect data from frontline managers of service businesses in the tourism and hospitality industry. Data are analyzed using SmartPLS Structural Equation Model to evaluate the structural and measurement models. The authors evaluated the measurement model by employing the criteria of internal consistency: reliability and Cronbach's alpha, validity: convergent and discriminant validity; and the structural model using the path coefficient, coefficient of determination, predictive relevance, and goodness-of-fit metrics. Results: Our findings indicate that green mindfulness significantly improves frontline managers' green creative behavior. Additionally, green intrinsic motivation mediates the connection between green mindfulness and green creative behavior. In addition, the direct effect of green mindfulness on green intrinsic motivation as well as the indirect effect of green mindfulness on green creative behavior through green intrinsic motivation, are both significantly moderated by green shared vision. Discussion: To the best of the authors' knowledge, this is one of the few efforts that outstretch the boundary conditions of green mindfulness and green creative behavior through the mediating role of green intrinsic motivation and the moderating role of green shared vision.
