It is Known that the interest of express diagnostic oncology degasses is growing up every ear. Recently, researchers from different countries proved highly effective studies of exhaled air in the diagnosis of breast cancer, cancer of lung and gastrointestinal tract. The purpose of our study was to identify a biomarker in the air of patients using hrormato-mass-spectrometer. We examined 79 patients. 47 patients with clinically and histologically proven oncology proses (II-IV stage), and 32 patients as a control group--without cancer. Chromatograms were obtaining, which was defining from 50 to 70 individual compounds. The overwhelming majority of cancer patients present organic matter--a biomarker and absent in the healthy group. At this stage of the technical capabilities of the equipment made it possible to carry out only a qualitative determination of this biomarker.

The objective of the present study was to estimate the potential of gas chromatography as a tool for diagnostics of chronic ENT pathology in the children. A total of 37 patients aged between 5 and 18 years with chronic ENT diseases and complaints of foul breath were available for the examination. Thirty one children presented with chronic tonsillitis, 3 with chronic adenoiditis, 2 with chronic rhinosinusitis, and 1 with subatrophic rhinitis. It was shown with the use of gas chromatography that the exhaled air from 34 (91.9%) patients contained cadaverin at a concentration of 0.004-0.0009 mg/ml. Three (8.1%) children exhaled methyl mercaptan (0.01-0.025 mg/m3) and hydrogen sulfide (0.002-0.006 mg/m3), and 2 (5.4%) patients exhaled the air containing dimethyl disulfide (0.009-0.002 mg/m3). The volatile sulfur-containing compounds were detected only in the children aged above 14 years. It is concluded that chronic tonsillitis is the leading etiological factor responsible for the development of the extraoral form of halitosis in the children. The foul breath in the children unlike that in the adults is most frequently due to the enhanced cadaverin concentration in the exhaled air rather than the production of volatile sulfur-containing compounds.

RESUMO

The presence of hydrogen sulfide, methilmercaptane, dimethilsulfide, putrescine, cadaverine in exhaled air was evaluated in the study. The concentrations of the named substances were defined in various oral diseases. The received results are of interest for differential diagnostics of halitosis causes.

The structure of exhaled air at various somatopathies is evaluated in the study. Presence and concentration of hydrogen sulfide, dimethilsulfide, putrescine, cadaverine in patients with otolaryngological, endocrine pathology, diseases of gastrointestinal tract and oral diseases. The obtained data is of great importance for halitosis causes diagnostics.

RESUMO

The main condition of periodontitis prevention is the full calculus removal from the teeth surface. This procedure should be fulfilled without harming adjacent unaffected tooth tissues. Nevertheless the problem of sensitive and precise estimating of tooth-calculus interface exists and potential risk of hard tissue damage remains. In the frames of this work it was shown that fluorescence diagnostics during calculus removal can be successfully used for precise detection of tooth-calculus interface. In so doing the simple implementation of this method free from the necessity of spectrometer using can be employed. Such a simple implementation of calculus detection set-up can be aggregated with the devices of calculus removing (as ultrasonic or laser devices).

RESUMO

The work is devoted to the development of fast and noninvasive method of sub- and supragingival dental calculus detection, which growth led to periodontitis. It is shown experimentally, that presence and absence of dental calculus can be effectively detected by laser fluorescence spectroscopy in visual range.
