PIP: The concentrations of testosterone were determined in 4 patients with pure gonadal dysgenesia. The patients were aged 18-24 years. 3 had the karyotype 46,XY and 1 had the karyotype 46,XX. The testosterone-transporting-protein binding capacity was estimated collaterally. A reciprocal correlation in the form of a high testosterone binding capacity (22 mcg/1) vs. a low testosterone concentration in the plasma (12.5 ng/100 ml) was confirmed. This significantly low concentration of testosterone is considered to indicate another gonadal source of disruption, which could be linked to the tissue metabolism of this hormone.^ieng
