RESUMO

Breast cancer is the second highest cause of carcinoma-related death caused by distant metastasis in women. Estrogen receptor (ER), human epidermal growth factor receptor 2, (HER2) and progesterone receptor (PR) are three classified makers of breast cancer, which are defined as ER+, HER2+, and the most serious ER-PR-HER2- (triple-negative). It is well known that ErbB2 (V-Erb-B2 avian erythroblastic leukemia viral oncogene homolog 2) plays an important part in breast cancer. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying ErbB2 action needs to be well studied. In this report, we discovered that the decreased expression levels of miR-34a were inversely correlated with the increased ErbB2 levels in breast cancer. A luciferase reporter assay was done to understand the potential correlation between ErbB2 and miR-34a. Over-expression of miR-34a reduces ErbB2 expression and suppresses breast cancer cell invasion and growth in vitro. What's more, reduced expression of ErbB2 inhibits breast Cancer cell proliferation and re-expression of ErbB2 reversed miR-34a-dependent tumor suppression. Meanwhile, miR-34a levels were correlated inversely with breast cancer malignancy. Our study demonstrates that miR-34a, like ErbB2, might be a diagnostic target in breast cancer.

RESUMO

Aspergillus niger (A. niger) and Syngonium podophyllum (S. podophyllum) have been used for wastewater treatment, and have exhibited a promising application in recent years. To determine the effects of A. niger on uranium enrichment and uranium stress antagonism of S. podophyllum, the S. podophyllum-A. niger combined system was established, and hydroponic remediation experiments were carried out with uranium-containing wastewater. The results revealed that the bioaugmentation of A. niger could increase the biomass of S. podophyllum by 5-7%, reverse the process of U(VI) reduction induced by S. podophyllum, and increase the bioconcentration factor (BCF) and translocation factor (TF) of S. podophyllum to uranium by 35-41 and 0.01-0.06, respectively, thereby improving the reduction of uranium in wastewater. Moreover, A. niger could promote the cell wall immobilization and the subcellular compartmentalization of uranium in the root of S. podophyllum, reduce the phytotoxicity of uranium entering root cells, and inhibit the calcium efflux from root cells, thereby withdrawing the stress of uranium on S. podophyllum.

RESUMO

The pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD), a common neurodegenerative disease, is still unknown. It is difficult to determine the atrophy areas, especially for patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) at different stages of AD, which results in a low diagnostic rate. Therefore, an early diagnosis model of AD based on 3-dimensional convolutional neural network (3DCNN) and genetic algorithm (GA) was proposed. Firstly, the 3DCNN was used to train a base classifier for each region of interest (ROI). And then, the optimal combination of the base classifiers was determined with the GA. Finally, the ensemble consisting of the chosen base classifiers was employed to make a diagnosis for a patient and the brain regions with significant classification capability were decided. The experimental results showed that the classification accuracy was 88.6% for AD

RESUMO

Since the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia(NCP), hospitals have taken the fight against the virus as its own responsibility, and keep standing in the front line of epidemic prevention and control. The continuous input of anti-epidemic forces in hospitals also brings challenges to the medical supplies support, including the management of protective supplies and the maintenance of medical equipment. In the face of increasing security pressure, the medical materials support team broke the game on multiple fronts. Firstly, the team implements active material procurement strategy, sets material distribution priority according to risk level, releases materials uniformly based on stock and use, and implements traceability management of donated materials to ensure material supply. Secondly, centralized allocation management of equipment, emergency installation, advanced maintenance and emergency maintenance work is effectively completed. Thirdly, disinfection strategies for items and equipment are developed safely and effectively with the aid of disinfection equipment functions. At last, personnel management and training have been strengthened. These measures have provided strong support for the orderly prevention and control of the epidemic.

RESUMO

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of treating glioma in combination with drugs multiply by comparing the size of tumor and the survival time of different groups in rat glioma after targeted blood-brain barrier (BBB ) disruption by MRI-guided focused ultrasound. Methods The stereotaxis instruments and the 10 μl gas-tight syringes were used to inject gliosarcoma cells into the targeted area of the brain in 50 male Sprague-Dawley rats. The glioma-bearing rat model was established. Each rat received either:(1 )no treatment (control;n =8);(2)single liposomal doxorubicin (DOX;n = 10);(3)multiple DOX (n =10);(4)single Avastin (AVS)and DOX (n =10);(5)multiple AVS and DOX (n =10).The SonoVue microbubble ultrasonic contrast agent and DOX or AVS were injected into the tail vein respectively on day 12 after implantation. The tumor size was measured by MRI on pre-treatment,immediacy and once a week of post-treatment after targeted BBB disruption by focused ultrasound, and the life span in rat glioma was recorded. Results The mediam survival of different groups in rat glioma(The range of the life span 13-90 d):no treatment (7 d);single DOX (12 d);multiple DOX (1 5 d);single AVS + DOX (22 d), multiple AVS+ DOX (30 d).There was significant difference of the groups on mediam survival comparison (P < 0.01 ).The tumor growth pattern after post-treatment of different groups in rat glioma except control:single DOX was noticeable fast and multiple AVS+DOX was visibly delayed comparable to other groups, and finally the tumor size of multiple AVS + DOX even became small. Conclusions The microbubble blasting enhances the local tissue permeability and promotes the drug delivery of chemotherapy and anti-angiogenesis locally in glioma-bearing rats by MRI-guided focused ultrasound.Especially, the combination with drugs multiply has a synergism efficacy that may enhance the effectiveness of chemotherapy, reduce tumor growth, and even become small of the tumor size, and increase survival time significantly after BBB disruption.

RESUMO

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of treating glioma in combination of two kinds of drugs by comparing the size of tumors and the survival time of different groups in rat glioma after targeted blood‐brain barrier (BBB) disruption by focused ultrasound under MRI‐guide. Methods The stereotaxis instruments and the 10 μl gas‐tight syringes were used to inject gliosarcoma cells into the targeted area of the brain in 40 male Sprague‐Dawley rats. The glioma‐bearing rats models were established. Rats were divided into 4 groups to receive different treatment :(1) no treatment (control, n = 8), (2) IV Avastin (Avastin only, n =10), (3) IV liposomal doxorubicin (DOX only, n =10), (4) IV Avastin and liposomal doxorubicin (Avastin+DOX, n =10). The SonoVue microbubbles and DOX or Avastin were injected into the tail vein respectively on the 12th day after implantation. The tumor size was measured by MRI on immediacy, once a week after targeted BBB disruption by focused ultrasound, and the life span in rat glioma was recorded. Results The average survival time of different groups in rat glioma was as follows :no treatment(17 ± 4)d, Avastin(20 ± 4)d, DOX(25 ± 5)d, DOX+ Avastin(40 ± 5)d. The tumor size after post‐treatment of different groups in rat glioma was as follows :no treatment(5 7.0 ± 4 3.0)mm, Avastin(4 3.0 ± 2 5.0)mm, DOX(4 1.2 ± 3 1.0)mm, DOX + Avastin(2. 20 ± 1. 30)mm. There was significant increased in average survival time and decreased in tumor size after a combination treatment DOX+ Avastin compared with other groups( P < 0 0.1). Conclusions The microbubble blasting by MRI‐guided focused ultrasound enhances the local tissue permeability and promotes the drug delivery of chemotherapy and anti‐angiogenesis locally in glioma‐bearing rats. Especially, the combination of two kinds of drugs has a synergism efficacy that may reduce tumor growth and increase survival time significantly after BBB disruption.
