[Influencing factors and their meaning for the status of nursing: a care study. Nursing in a medical department at a university hospital]. / Einflussfaktoren und deren Bedeutung für die Position der Pflege: eine Fallstudie. Zur Pflege auf einer medizinischen Abteilung in einem Universitätsspital.

UNLABELLED: The aim of this study was a description of the main influencing factors on the evolution of nursing in the last 15 years. METHOD: Semi-structured interviews. On the one hand the evident development of nursing with regard to both organisation and content of nursing is based on a great deal of the willingness to experiment, to innovate and to persist on the side of the nursing staff. On the other hand the positive conditions including the insight of the medical professionals regarding the importance of a high quality of nursing for their own field was important, too. As a consequence of this attitude a favourable evolution of nursing was supported. Under such circumstances a unity of policy and collaboration could be achieved between the nursing and the medical staff.
