RESUMO

High-voltage lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) have attracted great attention due to their promising high energy density. However, severe capacity degradation is witnessed, which originated from the incompatible and unstable electrolyte-electrode interphase at high voltage. Herein, a robust additive-induced sulfur-rich interphase is constructed by introducing an additive with ultrahigh S-content (34.04 %, methylene methyl disulfonate, MMDS) in 4.6 V LiNi0.5 Co0.2 Mn0.3 O2 (NCM523)||graphite pouch cell. The MMDS does not directly participate the inner Li+ sheath, but the strong interactions between MMDS and PF6 - anions promote the preferential decomposition of MMDS and broaden the oxidation stability, facilitating the formation of an ultrathin but robust sulfur-rich interfacial layer. The electrolyte consumption, gas production, phase transformation and dissolution of transition metal ions were effectively inhibited. As expected, the 4.6 V NCM523||graphite pouch cell delivers a high capacity retention of 87.99 % even after 800 cycles. This work shares new insight into the sulfur-rich additive-induced electrolyte-electrode interphase for stable high-voltage LIBs.

RESUMO

The aging of mammals is accompanied by the progressive atrophy of tissues and organs and the accumulation of random damage to macromolecular DNA, protein, and lipids. Flavonoids have excellent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective effects. Recent studies have shown that flavonoids can delay aging and prolong a healthy lifespan by eliminating senescent cells, inhibiting senescence-related secretion phenotypes (SASPs), and maintaining metabolic homeostasis. However, only a few systematic studies have described flavonoids in clinical treatment for anti-aging, which needs to be explored further. This review first highlights the association between aging and macromolecular damage. Then, we discuss advances in the role of flavonoid molecules in prolonging the health span and lifespan of organisms. This study may provide crucial information for drug design and developmental and clinical applications based on flavonoids.

RESUMO

Aging is a gradual process of natural change that occurs after reaching sexual maturity. It is also a known risk factor for many chronic diseases. Recent research has shown that senolytics can extend the lifespans and health spans of model organisms, and they have also been demonstrated effective in treating age-related diseases. In this study, we conducted a high-throughput screening of 156 drugs that targeted the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway to identify potential senolytic medications. Among these drugs, PF-04691502 was selected for further investigation to understand its molecular mechanism of action. Our findings indicate that PF-04691502, a dual inhibitor of PI3K/AKT and mTOR, specifically eliminates senescent cells. It reduces the expression levels of key markers of cellular senescence, such as SA-ß-Gal, senescence-associated secretory phenotypes (SASPs) and p16INK4a. Additionally, PF-04691502 inhibits the phosphorylation of S6K and AKT, leading to the apoptosis of senescent cells. These results suggest that PF-04691502 holds promise as a new senolytic drug. This paper provides important insights into the potential application of PF-04691502 in the study of cell senescence.

RESUMO

High-voltage pouch cells using an LiCoO2 cathode and SiO/C anode are regarded as promising energy storage devices due to their high energy densities. However, their failure is associated with the unstable, high-impedance cathode electrolyte interphase (CEI) film on the cathode and the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) film on the anode surface, which hinder their practical use. Here, we report a novel approach to ameliorate the above challenges through the rational construction of a stable, low-impedance cathode and anode interface film. Such films are simultaneously formed on both electrodes via the participation of the traditional salt, lithium tetrafluoroborate (LiBF4), as electrolyte additive. The application of 1.0% LiBF4 enhances the capacity retention of the cell from 26.1 to 82.2% after 150 cycles between 3.0 and 4.4 V at 1 C. Besides, the low-temperature discharge performance is also improved by LiBF4 application: the discharge capacity of the cell with LiBF4 is 794 mAh compared with 637 mAh without LiBF4 at 1 C and -20 °C. The excellent electrochemical performance of pouch cells is ascribed to the contribution of LiBF4. Especially, the low binding energy of LiBF4 with the oxygen on the LiCoO2 surface leads to the enrichment of LiBF4 that forms the protective cathode interface, which fills the blanks of previous research.

RESUMO

p62 (also known as SQSTM1) is widely used as a predictor of autophagic flux, a process that allows the degradation of harmful and unnecessary components through lysosomes to maintain protein homeostasis in cells. p62 is also a stress-induced scaffold protein that resists oxidative stress. The multiple domains in its structure allow it to be connected with a variety of vital signalling pathways, autophagy and the ubiquitin proteasome system (UPS), allowing p62 to play important roles in cell proliferation, apoptosis and survival. Recent studies have shown that p62 is also directly or indirectly involved in the ageing process. In this review, we summarize in detail the process by which p62 regulates ageing from multiple ageing-related signs with the aim of providing new insight for the study of p62 in ageing.

RESUMO

Drugs or compounds have been shown to promote longevity in various approaches. We used Drosophila to explore novel natural compounds can be applied to anti-aging. Here we reported that a flavonoid named Dihydromyricetin can increase stress that tolerance and lipid levels, slow down gut dysfunction and extend Drosophila lifespan. Dihydromyricetin can also lessen pERK and pAKT signaling, consequently activating FOXO and AOP to modulate longevity. Our results suggested that DHM could be used as an effective compound for anti-aging intervention, which could likely be applied to both mammals and humans.

RESUMO

Ubiquitination-mediated protein degradation is the selective degradation of diverse forms of damaged proteins that are tagged with ubiquitin, while deubiquitinating enzymes reverse ubiquitination-mediated protein degradation by removing the ubiquitin chain from the target protein. The interactions of ubiquitinating and deubiquitinating enzymes are required to maintain protein homeostasis. The ubiquitin-specific protease USP7 is a deubiquitinating enzyme that indirectly plays a role in repairing DNA damage and development. However, the mechanism of its participation in aging has not been fully explored. Regarding this issue, we found that USP7 was necessary to maintain the normal lifespan of Drosophila melanogaster, and knockdown of dusp7 shortened the lifespan and reduced the ability of Drosophila to cope with starvation, oxidative stress and heat stress. Furthermore, we showed that the ability of USP7 to regulate aging depends on the autophagy and ubiquitin signaling pathways. Furthermore, 2,5-dimethyl-celecoxib (DMC), a derivative of celecoxib, can partially restore the shortened lifespan and aberrant phenotypes caused by dusp7 knockdown. Our results suggest that USP7 is an important factor involved in the regulation of aging, and related components in this regulatory pathway may become new targets for anti-aging treatments.

RESUMO

This paper presents a novel analytical method for the determination of piperidinium ionic liquid cations in environmental water by hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography and solid-phase extraction technology. The left standing, centrifuged and filtered river water samples were first purified and concentrated through the C18 solid phase extraction column, and eluted with 0.02mol/L hydrochloric acid prepared in methanol and deionized water (80/20, v/v). Then the eluents were analyzed by a hydrophilic column combined with 0.8mmol/L 1-propyl-3-methyl imidazolium tetrafluoroborate aqueous solution/acetonitrile (40/60, v/v) as the mobile phase and indirect ultraviolet detection. The detection limits of piperidinium cations were less than 0.4mg/L. The relative standard deviations were less than 0.6%. The method has been successfully applied to the determination of piperidinium cations in Songhua River water samples. Recoveries were 80.0%-98.3%. This research may provide a reference for studying the environmental effect of ionic liquids.

RESUMO

Two prediction models for tumor prediction based on logistic regression and BP neural network were proposed in this paper; a sensitivity analysis of risk factors was also conducted. The two protocols will be implemented in the R language and demonstrated with relevant lung cancer data. Additionally, the two models are compared, verifying their accuracy and feasibility. Finally, a function is combined with R language, which can quickly achieve the above two programs. It is set up to obtain the tumor prediction model and the risk factors on the degree of correlation of the size of the disease. This method is convenient and practical and we hope it can be applied in the early discovery of cancer during future medicine.
