Banbianhong (Prunus salicina) is a valuable fruit crop cultivated in the southwestern regions of China for its high quality fruit and substantial economic benefits (Wang et al. 2021). In July 2023, dieback disease was observed in Banbianhong in Suijiang County, Zhaotong, Yunnan Province, with an incidence of up to 10%. The disease caused brownish nodules in the cortex of the infected plant, leading to dry cracking, and exposing grayish-brown xylem, which caused the plant to wither and die. Upon longitudinal cutting of twigs, lesions were evident and characterized by browning and necrosis of the cauline bundle and pith within the tissue. The diseased tissues were sectioned into 2 mm2 pieces and surface disinfected with 70% ethanol and 1% NaClO and rinsed with double distilled water. The tissue fragments were plated onto potato dextrose agar (PDA), and incubated for 7 days at 28°C. A total of six isolates were obtained, and two isolates (WG2-1 and WG2-3) were selected for morphological, molecular identification and pathogenicity testing. On PDA, the colony diameter of WG2-1 and WG2-3 were recorded as 5.50±0.56 mm/day and 6.08±0.37 mm/day, respectively. The microconidia of both isolates were zero-septate, smooth, greenish, subglobose to ellipsoidal, and measured 5 to 10 × 1.5 to 3 µm (n = 50) in size. However, macroconidia were not observed. The internal transcribed spacer rDNA (ITS) and ß-tubulin 2 (TUB2) genes were amplified using the primer pairs ITS1/4 (White et al. 1989) and Bt2a/2b (Glass and Donaldson 1995). BLAST analysis of the obtained ITS sequences (accession Nos. PP581792) and TUB2 sequences (accession Nos. PP2815212) sequences showed 100% identity with Rugonectria rugulosa (accession nos. MG991753 for ITS and KM232007 for TUB2). Based on these characteristics, the isolates have been identified as R. rugulosa and have been deposited in the Agricultural Environment and Resource Research Institute plant pathogen lab at Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences. In this study, Pathogenicity tests were conducted on one-year-old Prunus salicina "Banbianhong" twigs to complete Koch's postulates. The twigs were wounded using a 1-mm sterile corking borer and 14-day-old mycelium plugs of isolate (WG2-1) were inoculated and covered with sealing films. Sterile PDA plugs were placed into the wounds of control twigs. Eighteen healthy twigs were inoculated with isolates or PDA plugs (n = 6 twigs/treatment, the size of the twigs: 8 cm length and diameter about 0.7 cm, with three replications) and were placed in a closed sterile tray with the wet filter papers in a thermostatic incubator (type, HYC-260) at 28°C, respectively. The twigs inoculated with the isolates exhibited brown lesions site of inoculation, whereas the controls remained asymptomatic. R. rugulosa was successfully reisolated from the lesions but not from these control wounds and was identified by the methods described above. R. rugulosa has been reported to be associated with the die-back disease of Falcataria moluccana in China (Wang et al. 2019). The occurrence and spread of R. rugulosa in growing areas of Prunus salicina "Banbianhong" in Suijiang county have caused severe economic losses. To our knowledge, this is the first report of the die-back disease of Prunus salicina "Banbianhong" caused by R. rugulosa. These results confirm the pathogenicity of R. rugulosa in Prunus salicina "Banbianhong" and provide valuable insights for developing disease management and prevention strategies.

Erionota torus (Evans, 1941) is a banana pest and is mainly distributed in Southeast Asia and the Pacific regions. The complete mitogenome of E. torus (GenBank accession number MW586888) is 15,987 bp in size, including 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNAs, 2 ribosomal RNAs genes, and a noncoding A + T-rich region. The A + T-rich region is located between 12S rRNA and tRNAMet . The base composition of the whole E. torus mitogenome is 39.68% for A, 7.30% for G, 41.55% for T, and 11.47% for C, with a high AT content of 81.23%. The phylogeny analysis indicated that E. torus had a close relationship with Notocrypta curvifascia. The present data could contribute to the further detailed phylogeographic analysis and provide a comprehensive control strategy for this banana pest.

Basilepta fulvipes (Motschulsky, 1860) is a banana new pest and mainly distributed in Eastern Asia. The complete mitogenome of B. fulvipes (GenBank accession number MT627597) is 15,762 bp in size, including 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNAs, 2 ribosomal RNAs genes and a noncoding D-loop region. The D-loop region is located between 12S rRNA and tRNAIle . The base composition of the whole B. fulvipes mitogenome is 41.66% for A, 8.89% for G, 34.32% for T and 15.12% for C, with a high AT bias of 75.98%. The present data could contribute to further detailed phylogeographic analysis and comprehensive control of this banaba new pest.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the preservation of laryngeal function hypopharyngeal cancer surgery clinical effectiveness and impact of prognostic factors. METHODS: A retrospective analysis in September 1974 - July 2003 treated 45 cases of hypopharyngeal cancer surgery retain the clinical treatment of laryngeal function effect. Among them there were 23 cases of original pyriform sinus cancer, 13 cases of post cricoid cancer and 9 cases of postero pharyngeal wall cancer. Two cases of preoperative radiotherapy, radiotherapy volume of 40-50 Gy; after 32 cases of radiotherapy, radiotherapy dose of 60-70 Gy. Analysis of impact on survival in patients with risk factors. RESULTS: Forty five cases of preservation of laryngeal function after 88.9% who articulate pronunciation ambiguities were mild 11.1%; 23 cases of tracheostomy tube removal, decannulation rate was 51.1%, all can eat into the cape. Nineteen cases of post-operative complications (42.2%); after 20 cases of cervical lymph node metastasis, accounting for 44.4%. Statistics Kaplan-Meier method in patients with the whole group 5-year survival rate was 53.3%. T1 + T2 and T3 + T4 patients after 5-year survival rates were 66.7% and 43.3%; cN0 and cN1, cN2 group survival rates were 65.2% and 46.7%, 28.6%; pathological differentiation of high, medium and low-group survival rates were 62.3%, 42.1% and 30.8%. Single-factor analysis of survival and whether pre-operative cervical lymph node metastasis and the degree of pathological differentiation (chi2 value of 5.297 and 11.556, P value of 0.021 and 0.003). Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that the availability of pre-operative cervical lymph node metastasis and pathological effects of the degree of differentiation is an independent risk factor for prognosis (chi2 value of 4.365 and 4.600, P value of 0.041 and 0.032, OR value of 1.151 and 0.610). CONCLUSIONS: Preservation of laryngeal function hypopharyngeal cancer surgery for T1, T2 patients with the best surgical procedures, some of T3, T4 advanced hypopharyngeal cancer can also be used to retain the operation of laryngeal function; and preservation of laryngeal function can not affect the prognosis of patients with.
