The state of the organization of scientific research activities carried on by higher educational institutions within a frame of the Ministry of Public Health of Ukraine has been analyzed. Data about their scientific potential and the role in the preparation of highest qualification scientific personnel, etc. are presented. Recommendations have been given on further improvement of the organization and an increase of efficiency of research works in the higher medical and postgraduate educational institutions.
