RESUMO

Long noncoding RNAs (LncRNAs) have been gaining attention as potential therapeutic targets for lung cancer. In this study, we investigated the expression and biological behavior of lncRNA DARS-AS1, its predicted interacting partner miR-302a-3p, and ACAT1 in nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The transcript level of DARS-AS1, miR-302a-3p, and ACAT1 was analyzed using qRT-PCR. Endogenous expression of ACAT1 and the expression of-and changes in-AKT/ERK pathway-related proteins were determined using western blotting. MTS, Transwell, and apoptosis experiments were used to investigate the behavior of cells. The subcellular localization of DARS-AS1 was verified using FISH, and its binding site was verified using dual-luciferase reporter experiments. The binding of DARS-AS1 to miR-302a-3p was verified using RNA co-immunoprecipitation. In vivo experiments were performed using a xenograft model to determine the effect of DARS-AS1 knockout on ACAT1 and NSCLC. lncRNA DARS-AS1 was upregulated in NSCLC cell lines and tissues and the expression of lncRNA DARS-AS1 was negatively correlated with survival of patients with NSCLC. Knockdown of DARS-AS1 inhibited the malignant behaviors of NSCLC via upregulating miR-302a-3p. miR-302a-3p induced suppression of malignancy through regulating oncogene ACAT1. This study demonstrates that the DARS-AS1-miR-302a-3p-ACAT1 pathway plays a key role in NSCLC.

The increasing prevalence of extensively drug-and pan-drug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a major concern for global public health. Therefore, it is crucial to develop novel antimicrobials that specifically target P. aeruginosa and its biofilms. In the present study, we determined that berberine hydrochloride inhibited the growth of planktonic bacteria as well as prevented the formation of biofilms. Moreover, we observed downregulation in the expression of pslA and pelA biofilm-related genes. Compared with existing antibiotics, berberine hydrochloride exhibits multiple modes of action against P. aeruginosa. Our findings suggest that berberine hydrochloride exerts its antimicrobial effects by damaging bacterial cell membranes, generating reactive oxygen species (ROS), and reducing intracellular adenosine triphosphate (ATP) levels. Furthermore, berberine hydrochloride showed minimal cytotoxicity and reduced susceptibility to drug resistance. In a mouse model of peritonitis, it significantly inhibited the growth of P. aeruginosa and exhibited a strong bacteriostatic action. In conclusion, berberine hydrochloride is a safe and effective antibacterial agent that inhibits the growth of P. aeruginosa.

How to coordinate electron and ion transport behavior across scales and interfaces within ion battery electrodes? The exponential increase in surface area observed in nanoscale electrode materials results in an incomprehensibly vast spatial interval. Herein, to address the problems of volume expansion, dissolution of cathode material, and the charge accumulation problem existing in manganiferous materials for zinc ion batteries, metal organic framework is utilized to form the architecture of non-interfacial blocking ~10 nm Mn2O3 nanoparticles and amorphous carbon hybrid electrode materials, demonstrating a high specific capacity of 361 mAh g-1 (0.1 A g-1), and excellent cycle stability of 105 mAh g-1 after 2000 cycles under 1 A g-1. The uniform and non-separated disposition of Mn and C atoms constitutes an interconnected network with high electronic and ionic conductivity, minimizing issues like structural collapse and volume expansion of the electrode material during cycling. The cooperative insert mechanism of H+ and Zn2+ are analyzed via ex-situ XRD and in-situ Raman tests. The model battery is assembled to present practical possibilities. The results indicate that MOF-derived carbonization provides an effective strategy for exploring Mn-based electrode materials with high ion and electron transport capacity.

RUNX1, a member of the RUNX family of metazoan transcription factors, participates in the regulation of differentiation, proliferation, and other processes involved in growth and development. It also functions in the occurrence and development of tumors. However, the role and mechanism of action of RUNX1 in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) are not yet clear. We used a bioinformatics approach as well as in vitro and in vivo assays to evaluate the role of RUNX1 in NSCLC as the molecular mechanisms underlying its effects. Using the TCGA, GEO, GEPIA (Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis), and Kaplan-Meier databases, we screened the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and found that RUNX1 was highly expressed in lung cancer and was associated with a poor prognosis. Immunohistochemical staining based on tissue chips from 110 samples showed that the expression of RUNX1 in lung cancer tissues was higher than that in adjacent normal tissues and was positively correlated with lymph node metastasis and TNM staging. In vitro experiments, we found that RUNX1 overexpression promoted cell proliferation and migration functions and affected downstream functional proteins by regulating the activity of the mTOR pathway, as confirmed by an analysis using the mTOR pathway inhibitor rapamycin. In addition, RUNX1 affected PD-L1 expression via the mTOR pathway. These results indicate that RUNX1 is a potential therapeutic target for NSCLC.

In recent years, remarkable advancements have been achieved in the field of halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs). However, the commercialization of PSCs has been impeded by challenges such as Pb leakage and the instability of hybrid organic-inorganic perovskites (HOIPs). Hence, the future lies in the development of environmentally friendly inorganic lead-free halide perovskites (LFHPs) based on elements like Sn, Ge, Bi, Sb, and Cu, which show great promise for photovoltaic applications. However, LFHP photovoltaic cells still face challenges such as low efficiency, poor film quality, and stability in comparison to HOIPs. These limitations significantly hinder their further development. To address these issues, element doping strategies, including cationic and anionic doping, as well as the use of additives, are frequently employed. These strategies aim to improve film quality, passivate defects, reduce the band gap, and enhance device performance and stability. In this paper, we aim to provide a comprehensive review of the recent research progress in doping strategies for LFHPs.

Fractal dimension (FD) is used to quantify brain structural complexity and is more sensitive to morphological variability than other cortical measures. However, the effects of normal aging and sex on FD are not fully understood. In this study, age- and sex-related differences in FD were investigated in a sample of 448 adults age of 19-80 years from a Chinese dataset. The FD was estimated with the surface-based morphometry (SBM) approach, sex differences were analyzed on a vertex level, and correlations between FD and age were examined. Generalized additive models (GAMs) were used to characterize the trajectories of age-related changes in 68 regions based on the Desikan-Killiany atlas. The SBM results showed sex differences in the entire sample and 3 subgroups defined by age. GAM results demonstrated that the FD values of 51 regions were significantly correlated with age. The trajectories of changes can be classified into 4 main patterns. Our results indicate that sex differences in FD are evident across developmental stages. Age-related trajectories in FD are not homogeneous across the cerebral cortex. Our results extend previous findings and provide a foundation for future investigation of the underlying mechanism.

BACKGROUND: Multifaceted SARS-CoV-2 interventions have modified exposure to air pollution and dynamics of respiratory diseases. Identifying the most vulnerable individuals requires effort to build a complete picture of the dynamic health effects of air pollution exposure, accounting for disparities across population subgroups. METHODS: We use generalized additive model to assess the likely changes in the hospitalisation and mortality rate as a result of exposure to PM2.5 and O3 over the course of COVID-19 pandemic. We further disaggregate the population into detailed age categories and illustrate a shifting age profile of high-risk population groups. Additionally, we apply multivariable logistic regression to integrate demographic, socioeconomic and climatic characteristics with the pollution-related excess risk. RESULTS: Overall, a total of 1,051,893 hospital admissions and 34,954 mortality for respiratory disease are recorded. The findings demonstrate a transition in the association between air pollutants and hospitalisation rates over time. For every 10 µg/m3 increase of PM2.5, the rate of hospital admission increased by 0.2% (95% CI: 0.1-0.7%) and 1.4% (1.0-1.7%) in the pre-pandemic and dynamic zero-COVID stage, respectively. Conversely, O3-related hospitalization rate would be increased by 0.7% (0.5-0.9%) in the pre-pandemic stage but lowered to 1.7% (1.5-1.9%) in the dynamic zero-COVID stage. Further assessment indicates a shift of high-risk people from children and young adolescents to the old, primarily the elevated hospitalization rates among the old people in Lianyungang (RR: 1.53, 95%CI: 1.46, 1.60) and Nantong (RR: 1.65, 95%CI: 1.57, 1.72) relative to those for children and young adolescents. Over the course of our study period, people with underlying diseases would have 26.5% (22.8-30.3%) and 12.7% (10.8-14.6%) higher odds of having longer hospitalisation and over 6 times higher odds of deaths after hospitalisation. CONCLUSIONS: Our estimates provide the first comprehensive evidence on the dynamic pollution-health associations throughout the pandemic. The results suggest that age and underlying diseases collectively determines the disparities of pollution-related health effect across population subgroups, underscoring the urgency to identifying the most vulnerable individuals to air pollution.

With the widespread use of drugs, drug-induced acute kidney injury (AKI) has become an increasingly serious health concern worldwide. Currently, early diagnosis of drug-induced AKI remains challenging because of the lack of effective biomarkers and noninvasive imaging tools. SO2 plays important physiological roles in living systems and is an important antioxidant for maintaining redox homeostasis. However, the relationship between SO2 (in water as SO32-/HSO3-) and drug-induced AKI remains largely unknown. Herein, we report the highly sensitive near-infrared fluorescence probe DSMN, which for the first time reveals the relationship between SO2 and drug-induced AKI. The probe responds to SO32-/HSO3- selectively and rapidly (within seconds) and shows a significant turn-on fluorescence at 710 nm with a large Stokes shift (125 nm). With these properties, the probe was successfully applied to detect SO2 in living cells and mice. Importantly, the probe can selectively target the kidneys, allowing for the detection of changes in the SO2 concentration in the kidneys. Based on this, DSMN was successfully used to detect cisplatin-induced AKI and revealed an increase in the SO2 levels. The results indicate that SO2 is a new biomarker for AKI and that DSMN is a powerful tool for studying and diagnosing drug-induced AKI.

Cancer is a worldwide health problem. Revealing the changes in the microenvironment after cell carcinogenesis is helpful to understand cancer and develop sensitive methods for cancer diagnosis. We developed herein a viscosity-responsive plasma membrane probe (TPA-S) that was successfully used to probe the viscosity difference between normal and tumor cell plasma membranes for the first time. The probe shows AIE properties with good water solubility, significant near-infrared (NIR) fluorescence responses to viscosity with high sensitivity, and excellent cell membrane location performance. With these features, our experiments showed that TPA-S could selectively visualize cancer cell plasma membranes, revealing that the plasma membrane of tumor cells is more viscous than that of normal cells. In addition, TPA-S was successfully applied to specifically light up tumors. Altogether, this work explored the changes of cell membrane viscosity after canceration, provided a new method for selective visualization of tumor cells, and opened up a new approach for cancer diagnosis.

Nitrogen (N) deposition has increased dramatically in recent decades, which is significantly affecting the invasion and growth of exotic plants. Whether N deposition leads to invasive alien species becoming competitively superior to native species remains to be investigated. In the present study, an invasive species (Oenothera biennis L.) and three co-occurring native species (Artemisia argyi Lévl. et Vant., Inula japonica Thunb., and Chenopodium album L.) were grown in a monoculture (two seedlings of the same species) or mixed culture (one seedling of O. biennis and one seedling of a native species) under three levels of N deposition (0, 6, and 12 g∙m-2∙year-1). Nitrogen deposition had no effect on soil N and P content. Nitrogen deposition enhanced the crown area, total biomass, leaf chlorophyll content, and leaf N to phosphorus ratio in both invasive and native plants. Oenothera biennis dominated competition with C. album and I. japonica due to its high resource acquisition and absorption capacity (greater height, canopy, leaf chlorophyll a to chlorophyll b ratio, leaf chlorophyll content, leaf N content, leaf mass fraction, and lower root-to-shoot ratio). However, the native species A. argyi exhibited competitive ability similar to O. biennis. Thus, invasive species are not always superior competitors of native species; this depends on the identities of the native species. High N deposition enhanced the competitive dominance of O. biennis over I. japonica by 15.45% but did not alter the competitive dominance of O. biennis over C. album. Furthermore, N deposition did not affect the dominance of O. biennis or A. argyi. Therefore, the species composition of the native community must be considered when preparing to resist future biological invasions. Our study contributes to a better understanding of the invasion mechanisms of alien species under N-loading conditions.

An increased lipopolysaccharide (LPS) level in patients with cirrhosis induced the dysregulation of sterol regulatory element-binding transcription factor 2 (SREBF2), which participated in the modulation of tumor inflammatory microenvironment. However, the role of SREBF2 in the LPS-induced injury of portal vein endothelium was scarcely reported. This study aimed to investigate the effects of SREBF2 on the LPS-induced injury to endothelial cells (ECs) in vitro and in vivo and explore the underlying mechanism. In this study, we found that LPS increased SREBF2 expression through activating the TLR4/JNK/c-Jun pathway and suppressed UBE2I-mediated SREBF2 sumoylation to enhance its transcriptional activity. The dysregulation of SREBF2 induced ER stress by increasing the intracellular cholesterol level and facilitated Bax expression to cause additional damage to LPS-induced ECs. As a potential intervention, miR590-3p negatively regulated SREBF2 expression and upregulated UBE2I expression by targeting TLR4, thus alleviating LPS-induced injury. These results suggest that LPS-induced SREBF2 triggered ER stress and promoted Bax expression to injure ECs, which was reversed by miR590-3p. The mechanisms of SREBF2 mediated LPS-induced endothelial injury of portal vein, which might be the therapeutic target for PVT development in cirrhosis patients. 1. LPS promoted SREBF2 expression by activating the TLR4/JNK/c-Jun pathway and suppressed UBE2I-mediated SREBF2 sumoylation to upregulate SREBF2 transcriptional activity 2. SREBF2-mediated ER stress and Bax expression involved in LPS-induced EC injury 3. miR590-3p decreased SREBF2 expression by targeting TLR4 and mitigated LPS-induced EC injury.

Nuclear factor Y (NF-Y) is a heterotrimeric transcription factor that binds to the CCAAT cis-element in the promoters of target genes and plays critical roles in plant growth, development, and stress responses. In the present study, we aimed to re-characterize the ClNF-Y family in watermelon, examine the assembly of ClNF-Y complexes, and explore their possible involvement in disease resistance. A total of 25 ClNF-Y genes (7 ClNF-YAs, 10 ClNF-YBs, and 8 ClNF-YCs) were identified in the watermelon genome. The ClNF-Y family was comprehensively characterized in terms of gene and protein structures, phylogenetic relationships, and evolution events. Different types of cis-elements responsible for plant growth and development, phytohormones, and/or stress responses were identified in the promoters of the ClNF-Y genes. ClNF-YAs and ClNF-YCs were mainly localized in the nucleus, while most of the ClNF-YBs were localized in the cytoplasm of cells. ClNF-YB5, -YB6, -YB7, -YB8, -YB9, and -YB10 interacted with ClNF-YC2, -YC3, -YC4, -YC5, -YC6, -YC7, and -YC8, while ClNF-YB1 and -YB3 interacted with ClNF-YC1. A total of 37 putative ClNF-Y complexes were identified, e.g., ClNF-YA1, -YA2, -YA3, and -YA7 assembled into 13, 8, 8, and 8 ClNF-Y complexes with different ClNF-YB/-YC heterodimers. Most of the ClNF-Y genes responded with distinct expression patterns to defense hormones such as salicylic acid, methyl jasmonate, abscisic acid, and ethylene precursor 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate, and to infection by the vascular infecting fungus Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. niveum. Overexpression of ClNF-YB1, -YB8, -YB9, ClNF-YC2, and -YC7 in transgenic Arabidopsis resulted in an earlier flowering phenotype. Overexpression of ClNF-YB8 in Arabidopsis led to enhanced resistance while overexpression of ClNF-YA2 and -YC2 resulted in decreased resistance against Botrytis cinerea. Similarly, overexpression of ClNF-YA3, -YB1, and -YC4 strengthened resistance while overexpression of ClNF-YA2 and -YB8 attenuated resistance against Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato DC3000. The re-characterization of the ClNF-Y family provides a basis from which to investigate the biological functions of ClNF-Y genes in respect of growth, development, and stress response in watermelon, and the identification of the functions of some ClNF-Y genes in disease resistance enables further exploration of the molecular mechanism of ClNF-Ys in the regulation of watermelon immunity against diverse pathogens.

BACKGROUND: Patients with hepatic schistosomiasis are at high risk of gastroesophageal variceal bleeding, which is highly torrential and life threatening. This study aimed to assess the effects of splenectomy on patients with schistosomiasis-induced variceal bleeding, especially those influences related to overall survival (OS) rate. METHODS: From January 2005 to December 2018, 112 patients with schistosomiasis-induced varices were enrolled. In that period, all the patients with hepatic schistosomiasis who received endoscopic treatment for primary and secondary prophylaxis of gastroesophageal variceal bleeding were found eligible. The patients were divided into splenectomized group (n = 44, 39.3%) and control group (n = 68, 60.7%). RESULTS: Multivariate regression analysis of OS showed that splenectomy, hepatic carcinoma, and times of endoscopic treatment were independent prognostic factors for OS. Kaplan-Meier analysis revealed that the 5-year OS rate was 82.7% in splenectomized group versus 53.2% in control group (P = 0.037). The rate of no recurrence of variceal bleeding during 5-year (56.8% vs. 47.7%, P = 0.449) indicated that there was no significant difference between the two groups. Patients who received splenectomy had increased risk of portal vein thrombosis (52.3% vs. 29.4%, P = 0.012) and decreased proportion of severe ascites (20.5% vs 50.0%, P = 0.002). CONCLUSION: Splenectomy prior to endoscopic treatment provides a superior long-term survival for patients with schistosomiasis-induced variceal bleeding.

PURPOSE: To establish normal parameters of macular and optic disc vasculature by optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) in healthy preschool children aged 4-6 years old in China. OCTA reflects retinal metabolism and development in children at these ages and could be used clinically and in future studies to aid diagnosis and prediction of retinal abnormalities and developmental stagnation. METHODS: In this cross-sectional study, we measured foveal, parafoveal, and perifoveal vessel density in the superficial capillary plexus (SCP); the deep capillary plexus (DCP), the foveal avascular zone (FAZ), and the radial capillary peripapillary (RPC) in the optic disc using investigational spectral-domain OCTA. The magnification effect of the FAZ area and microvasculature measurements was corrected by Littman and the modified Bennett formula. RESULTS: A total of 242 eyes (116 males and 126 females, 5.31 ± 0.73 years) were recruited for the analysis. The mean macular vessel density was 48.10 ± 2.92% and 48.74 ± 6.51% in the SCP and the DCP, respectively. The RPC vessel density was 47.17 ± 2.52%, 47.99 ± 4.48%, and 48.41 ± 3.07% in the whole image, inside disc, and peripapillary, respectively; and the mean FAZ area was 0.28 ± 0.11 mm2. A significant difference between male and female participants was found in the retinal vasculature (DCP, SCP, and RPC). None of these parameters were significantly different in age (P > 0.05), except that DCP slightly increased with aging. The right and left eyes had good consistency in the parameters of the macula and optic disc. CONCLUSIONS: Our study establishes the macular and optic disc OCTA reference values in 4- to 6-year-old healthy preschool children. They may be used in longitudinal OCTA studies and clinical applications.

BACKGROUND : Oxaliplatin, used as first-choice treatment for colorectal cancer (CRC), induces sinusoidal endothelial injury and portal hypertension. This study investigated the characteristics of oxaliplatin-induced portal hypertension and evaluated the efficacy of endoscopic management of gastroesophageal variceal bleeding. METHODS : We performed a retrospective, multicenter, case-control study between January 2010 and December 2018. Patients who received oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy after CRC surgery and presented with portal hypertension and gastroesophageal varices were compared with consecutive patients with hepatitis B-related cirrhotic portal hypertension receiving endoscopic treatment for variceal bleeding. RESULTS : 39 patients with oxaliplatin-induced portal hypertension were identified, 35 of whom had a history of variceal bleeding. The median period between start of oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy and the occurrence of varices was 50.4 months (n = 39). A total of 26 patients with oxaliplatin-related portal hypertension and 230 patients with hepatitis B-related portal hypertension underwent endoscopic treatment. Kaplan-Meier analysis revealed that the 1-year rebleeding rate was significantly higher in the oxaliplatin group than in the hepatitis B group (43.3 % vs. 19.0 %, P = 0.001). Multivariable Cox regression analysis showed that oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy was an independent factor for 3-year rebleeding (hazard ratio [HR] 2.46, 95 % confidence interval [CI] 1.24-4.87; P = 0.01) and 3-year overall mortality (HR 9.43, 95 %CI 2.32-38.31; P = 0.002). CONCLUSIONS : Oxaliplatin-related portal hypertension was characterized by massive ascites, splenomegaly, gastric varices, concomitant arterioportal fistula, and relatively normal liver function. Endoscopic treatment to prevent variceal rebleeding in these patients was unsatisfactory compared with endoscopic treatment for hepatitis B-related portal hypertension.

The emerging blockchain technology has injected new vitality into the energy market, especially the peer-to-peer power trading of microgrid systems. However, with the increase of energy blockchain projects, the difficulty of data communication and value islands between blockchain networks have become open issues. Thus, in this paper, we propose a dynamic adaptive cross-chain trading mode for multi-microgrid joint operation. The novelty is to design a proof of credit threshold consensus mechanism to achieve effective information verification. This consensus mechanism can ensure the adaptive consistency of cross-chain information without changing the existing blockchain architecture of each system. At the same time, we design a corresponding key management interoperability protocol based on RSA algorithm and Chinese remainder theorem, which can realize data transfer and information consensus for cross-chain transactions. The theoretical analysis verifies that the cross-chain communication information is effective and the system is able to protect against the attack of malicious nodes. Finally, a cross-chain simulation experiment is established to analyze the operation efficiency. The result shows that this cross-chain trading takes place within seconds, which basically meets the response requirements for multi-microgrid joint operation.

The selective detachment of undifferentiated human induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells from a thermal release coating, fabricated from a tailored poly(di(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate) (PDEGMA) homopolymer layer on gold, is reported. By exploiting the mild, thermally triggered release of iPS cell colonies in the absence of any releasing reagent, pluripotent iPS cells are shown to be selectively separated from spontaneously differentiated cells. The maintained pluripotency and high cell viability of detached and reseeded iPS cell colonies were confirmed and suggest the feasibility of a generally applicable platform approach for cell separation and purification in the context of iPS cell culture, differentiation of pathologically altered cells and normal cells, as well as isolation of different cell types derived from certain tissues, for example, from biopsies.

Fabrication, characterization, and application of micropatterned one-component poly(di(ethylene glycol)methyl ether methacrylate) (PDEGMA) brushes for monolayer cell and spheroid culture and temperature-triggered release are reported. Micropatterns of various shapes and sizes were designed to possess a unique functionality imparted by thermoresponsive thin PDEGMA patches, which are cell adhesive at 37 °C, embedded in a much thicker cell-resistant PDEGMA matrix that does not exhibit measurable thermoresponsive properties. Depending on the cell seeding density, PaTu 8988t human pancreatic tumor cells or spheroids were cultured area-selectively, confined by the 40 ± 4 nm thick passivating PDEGMA matrix, and could be released on demand by a mild thermally triggered brush swelling in the 5 ± 1 nm thin regions. As shown by surface plasmon resonance (SPR) measurements, in contrast to the thinner brushes, the thicker brushes exhibited virtually no fibronectin adhesive properties at 37 °C, whereas at 25 °C, both areas showed similar protein resistant behavior. The quasi-2D thickness-encoded micropatterns were shown to be useful templates for the growth of 3D multicellular aggregates. Thermally induced release after 5 days of incubation afforded 3D cell spheroids comprising up to 99% viable cells demonstrating that the system can be used as a 3D spheroid in vitro model for basic tumor research and anticancer drug screenings.

Quadruplex DNA, which is a relevant target for anticancer therapies, may alter its conformation because of interactions with interfaces. In pursuit of a versatile methodology to probe adsorption-induced conformational changes, the interaction between a fluorescent [2.2.2]heptamethinecyanine dye and quadruplex DNA (G4-DNA) was studied in solution and on surfaces. In solution, the cyanine dye exhibits a strong light-up effect upon the association with G4-DNA without interference from double-stranded DNA. In addition, a terminal π-stacking as a binding mode between the cyanine dye and G4-DNA is concluded using NMR spectroscopy. To unravel the effects of adsorption on the conformation of quadruplex-DNA, G4-DNA, and double-stranded and single-stranded DNA were adsorbed to positively charged poly(allylamine) hydrochloride (PAH) surfaces, both in planar and in constrained 55 nm diameter aluminum oxide nanopore formats. All DNA forms showed a very strong affinity to the PAH surfaces as shown by surface plasmon resonance and reflectometric interference spectroscopy. The significant increase of the fluorescence emission intensity of the cyanine light-up probe observed exclusively for surface immobilized G4-DNA affords evidence for the adsorption of G4-DNA on PAH with retained quadruplex conformation.

Coronary heart disease preoperative diagnosis plays an important role in the treatment of vascular interventional surgery. Actually, most doctors are used to diagnosing the position of the vascular stenosis and then empirically estimating vascular stenosis by selective coronary angiography images instead of using mouse, keyboard and computer during preoperative diagnosis. The invasive diagnostic modality is short of intuitive and natural interaction and the results are not accurate enough. Aiming at above problems, the coronary heart disease preoperative gesture interactive diagnostic system based on Augmented Reality is proposed. The system uses Leap Motion Controller to capture hand gesture video sequences and extract the features which that are the position and orientation vector of the gesture motion trajectory and the change of the hand shape. The training planet is determined by K-means algorithm and then the effect of gesture training is improved by multi-features and multi-observation sequences for gesture training. The reusability of gesture is improved by establishing the state transition model. The algorithm efficiency is improved by gesture prejudgment which is used by threshold discriminating before recognition. The integrity of the trajectory is preserved and the gesture motion space is extended by employing space rotation transformation of gesture manipulation plane. Ultimately, the gesture recognition based on SRT-HMM is realized. The diagnosis and measurement of the vascular stenosis are intuitively and naturally realized by operating and measuring the coronary artery model with augmented reality and gesture interaction techniques. All of the gesture recognition experiments show the distinguish ability and generalization ability of the algorithm and gesture interaction experiments prove the availability and reliability of the system.
