RESUMO
OBJECTIVE: Mixed epithelial and stromal tumor of the kidney (MESTK) is a rare renal tumor for which there is limited clinical case experience. The aim of this study was to investigate the clinicopathological features, imaging manifestations, immunohistochemical phenotype, diagnosis, and differential diagnosis of MESTK. METHODS: We systematically evaluated the clinicopathological characteristics of 13 patients diagnosed with MESTK from 2016 to 2022. RESULTS: There were 12 female cases and 1 male case, and their age ranged from 24 to 62 (mean age 47 years). The tumor was located in the left kidney in 11 patients. Seven of these patients were located in the upper pole of the left kidney. The mean diameter of the tumor was 4.6 cm (range 1.3-8.6 cm), and the main body of the tumor was mainly located in the medulla or medulla. In 7 cases, the tumors were clearly outlined, 4 cases had clear but irregular borders, and in 3 cases, the masses broke through the renal capsule but did not invade the surrounding organs. All tumors had varying proportions of cystic and solid components. In most tumors, the epithelial cell component was predominant. Among the epithelial components, we observed a predominance of large cysts. Small cysts and tubular structures were also seen; the least common were papillary structures. The most common types of lining epithelium were flat and cuboidal. The cell cytoplasm was predominantly eosinophilic with hyaline degeneration. The tumor cells were composed of different proportions of sparse hypocellular areas and dense hypercellular areas between these cells. In most cases, the cellular stroma had an ovarian-like appearance. It is characterized histologically by mature adipocytes, thick-walled blood vessels, and chronic inflammatory cells. Calcification and collagenization were seen in a few cases. In all female patients, estrogen and progesterone receptors in the interstitial component were almost always positively expressed. In male patients, all interstitial components showed locally positive expression of androgens. CONCLUSION: MESTK had unique characteristics with complex and variable lesion shapes. There was a high degree of overlap with cystic kidney cancer, and the rate of missed and misdiagnosis was extremely high. The diagnosis could not be confirmed by preoperative imaging. The final diagnosis depended on pathomorphology.

Perivascular epithelioid cell tumor (PEComa) is a rare mesenchymal tumor that is mainly seen in middle-aged women. PEComa originating in the ureter is extremely rare it is unclear whether they display typical clinical and radiographic features seen elsewhere. Herein, we report findings from 2 cases of primary PEComa of the ureter that we classified as malignant. Case 1: A 45-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital with intermittent distension in her waist. After appropriate imaging, the right ureter and right kidney were excised under general anesthesia. The tumor measured 1.4 cm. Microscopically, the tumor displayed infiltrative growth, >2 mitoses per 10 high power fields (HPF), necrosis, and lympho-vascular invasion. Case 2: A 30-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital due to hematuria 20 days duration. The left ureter and left kidney were ultimately excised under general anesthesia. The tumor measured 2 cm. Microscopically, the tumor showed infiltrative growth and >2 mitoses/10 HPF. Our cases were diagnosed as malignant PEComa. No disease recurrence was observed in either of the two patients during the postoperative follow-up period. Malignant primary ureteral PEComa is very rare. The clinical manifestations are not specific, and it is usually misdiagnosed as a malignant neoplasm on imaging. Therefore, its diagnosis requires pathological examination and immunohistochemical analysis of the sampled or resected tumor. Treatment requires a complete surgical resection and regular clinical follow-up.

BACKGROUND: Pelvic floor muscle exercise (PFME) is the most common conservative management for urinary incontinence (UI) after radical prostatectomy (RP). We performed this meta-analysis to investigate whether PFME during the entire perioperative period, including before and after RP, can significantly improve the recovery of postoperative UI. METHODS: We systematically reviewed randomized controlled trials (RCT) from PubMed, Medline, web of science, Cochrane library, and clinicalitrials.com prior to October 2022. Efficacy data were pooled and analyzed using Review Manager Version 5.3. Pooled analyses of urinary incontinence rates 1, 3, 6, and 12 months postoperatively were conducted, using odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs). RESULTS: We included a total of 15 RCT studies involving 2178 patients received RP. Postoperative UI could be improved after 1 month, 3 months and 6 months, and the OR were 0.26 (95%CI:0.15-0.46) 0.30 (95%CI: 0.11-0.80) 0.20 (95%CI: 0.07- 0.56) in postoperative PFME group compared to no PFME group. However, there was no significant difference between the two groups in 12 months after surgery, and the OR was 0.85(95%CI: 0.48,1.51). There were similar results in perioperative PFME group compared to no PFME group with the OR of 0.35 (95%CI: 0.12, 0.98) and 0.40 (95%CI: 0.21, 0.75) in 1 and 3 months after surgery. Our results indicated no significant difference between perioperative PFME group and postoperative PFME group. The OR was 0.58 (95%CI: 0.20-1.71) 0.58 (95%CI:0.20-0.71) and 0.66 (95%CI: 0.32-1.38) in 1, 3 and 6 months after surgery. CONCLUSION: Application of PFME after RP significantly reduced the incidence of early postoperative UI, and additional preoperative PFME had no significant improvement on the recovery of UI.

BACKGROUND: Second-line treatment for urothelial carcinoma (UC) patients is used if progression or failure after platinum-based chemotherapy occurs or if patients are cisplatin-unfit. However, there is still no widely accepted treatment strategy. We aimed to analyze the effectiveness and safety of second-line treatment strategies for UC patients. METHODS: The PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane databases were searched for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that included UC patients who were cisplatin-ineligible or unfit up to April 19, 2019. The primary outcomes were progression-free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS), and objective response rate (ORR). RESULTS: Thirteen trials that assessed 3502 UC patients were included. This study divided the network comparisons into three parts. The first part contained studies comparing taxanes and other interventions; the second part assessed investigator's choice chemotherapy (ICC)-related comparisons; and the third part assessed best support care (BSC). In the OS results of the first part, pembrolizumab (87.5%), ramucirumab plus docetaxel (74.6%), and atezolizumab (71.1%) had a relative advantage. Pembrolizumab also had advantages in ORR and severe adverse effect (SAE) results. Vinflunine and ramucirumab plus docetaxel had a relatively high surface under the cumulative ranking curve (SUCRA) rank by exploratory cluster analysis. CONCLUSIONS: This study concluded that atezolizumab and pembrolizumab are superior to other treatments, mainly in OS results, but no treatment confers a significant advantage in PFS. Pembrolizumab still has relative advantages in ORR and SAE results compared to ICC. Due to limitations, more studies are necessary to confirm the conclusions.

miR-92 has been reported to be upregulated in several human cancers. Until now, its expression pattern and biological roles in human bladder cancer still remains unexplored. The present study aims to clarify its expression, function, and potential molecular mechanisms in bladder cancer. Using real-time PCR, we found that miR-92 was upregulated in bladder cancer tissues compared with normal bladder tissues. We transfected miR-92 mimic and inhibitor in T24 and 5637 bladder cancer cells separately. We found that miR-92 mimic promoted T24 proliferation and invasion, with increased expression of cyclin D1, c-myc, and MMP7 at both mRNA and protein levels. Further investigation found that miR-92 could also promote epithelial-mesenchymal transition by downregulating E-cadherin protein and upregulating vimentin. In addition, miR-92 mimic also promoted activation of Wnt signaling. Meanwhile, miR-92 inhibitor displayed the opposite effects in 5637 cell line. By use of bioinformatic prediction software and luciferase reporter assay, we discovered that GSK3ß acted as a direct target of miR-92. Additionally, GSK3ß siRNA abrogated the effects of miR-92 mimic on cyclin D1 and MMP7. Moreover, we observed a negative correlation between GSK3ß and miR-92 in bladder cancer tissues. In conclusion, our study demonstrated that upregulation of miR-92 is closely related with malignant progression of bladder cancer and miR-92 promotes proliferation, invasion, and Wnt/c-myc/MMP7 signaling by targeting GSK3ß.
RESUMO
MicroRNA-9 upregulation was reported in several tumors. However, its function and mechanism in human bladder cancer remains obscure. The present study aims to identify the expression pattern, biological roles and potential mechanism of miR-9 in human bladder cancers. We found that expression level of miR-9 in bladder cancer tissues was higher than normal tissues. miR-9 mimic transfection was performed in T24 and 5637 cells with low miR-9 expression, and miR-9 inhibitor was employed in BIU-87 cell line with high endogenous expression. miR-9 increased cell proliferation, cell cycle progression, invasion and chemoresistance, with upregulation of cyclin D1, MMP9, Bcl-2, and survivin and downregulation of E-cadherin. Using luciferase reporter assay, we confirmed that LASS2 was a direct target of miR-9 in bladder cancer cells. Transfection of miR-9 mimic downregulated LASS2 expression. LASS2 transfection downregulated Bcl-2 and survivin expression, which were induced by miR-9 mimic in both cell lines. In conclusion, these results indicate that miR-9 upregulation might be associated with malignant phenotype of bladder cancer. miR-9 promotes chemoresistance of bladder cancer cells by target LASS2.

RATIONALE: The current diagnostic approach for urinary tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC) relies on symptoms and imaging. Nevertheless, the diagnosis can be challenging in advanced cases presenting with atypical imaging and symptoms. This article presents an unreported case with atypical imaging and symptoms to provide some experience in diagnosing advanced UTUC. PATIENT CONCERNS: A 55-year-old male patient was admitted to the hospital with a 2-month history of persistent left scrotal pain and intermittent left lower back pain. DIAGNOSES: Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging revealed a left kidney infection. Paradoxically, the patient did not present with a fever, and the white blood cell count was within normal limits. To further clarify the diagnosis, urine cytology was performed. Surprisingly, malignant tumor cells were discovered. The diagnosis of UTUC was considered. INTERVENTIONS: The patient underwent radical tumor resection. OUTCOMES: The surgery was successfully performed. The patient received regular chemotherapy after surgery. No recurrence was found during the follow-up. LESSONS: This case is a rare and enlightening clinical scenario. When imaging reveals renal infection accompanied by varicocele or renal vein embolism, it is crucial to consider the possibility of advanced UTUC.

Background: An adrenal collision tumor (ACT) denotes the presence of distinct tumors with diverse behavioral, genetic, and histological features independently co-existing within the adrenal tissue without intermingling, and occurrences of such cases are infrequent. The concurrent occurrence of adrenal schwannoma and adrenal ganglioneuroma is exceedingly rare, and the diagnosis of these ACTs has been notably challenging due to their atypical clinical manifestations and imaging characteristics. Case summary: A 37-year-old man presented to the hospital 3â weeks after a computed tomography (CT) examination that revealed a left adrenal mass. Physical examination findings were unremarkable. Both CT and magnetic resonance imaging scans indicated the presence of a left adrenal mass. Plasma cortisol, adrenocorticotropic hormone, and renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system tests yielded normal results. Preoperative imaging confirmed the diagnosis of left adrenal pheochromocytoma. After thorough surgical preparation, a laparoscopic partial left adrenalectomy was performed. Subsequent postoperative pathological analysis identified adrenal schwannoma in conjunction with adrenal ganglioneuroma. The patient recovered well and was discharged on postoperative day 4. A routine urology clinic visit was included in his postoperative care plan. During follow-up assessments, CT scans of the left adrenal gland revealed no abnormalities. Conclusion: Adrenal schwannoma combined with ganglioneuroma represents an exceptionally rare collision tumor characterized by the absence of typical clinical or imaging features, leading to potential misdiagnosis. Adrenal incidentalomas present as multifaceted conditions, and this case serves to heighten awareness of their intricate nature. Due to the challenges in preoperative differentiation of various adrenal mass types, postoperative pathological analysis is imperative for guiding the subsequent treatment course for the patient.
RESUMO
Background: Ectopic tissue is rarely found in the bladder for adults. Currently, there have been reports of ectopic prostate and colon tissue in the bladder. These ectopic tissues are manifested as a bladder mass and cause lower urinary tract symptoms. However, the ectopic corpus cavernosum in the bladder has never been reported, and its clinical characteristics and treatment have not been explored yet. Case summary: A 3-year-old boy was admitted to the hospital due to 1 month of urinary frequency. The physical examination was unremarkable. Urine analysis from other hospitals showed an elevated urine white blood cell count of 17.9/ul. In addition, ultrasound indicated a possible bladder mass. CT and MRI showed a well-margined lesion (1.9×1.9 cm) in the bladder trigone. Through preoperative imaging, we diagnosed a bladder tumor (inclined towards benign). The transurethral resection of the bladder tumor was performed. Unfortunately, the surgery was unsuccessful due to the difficulty in removing the excised tissue through the urethra. Subsequently, bladder incision and tumor resection were performed. The tumor was successfully removed. Surprisingly, the postoperative pathology showed that the tumor tissue was corpus cavernosum. The pathological diagnosis was ectopic corpus cavernosum in the bladder. No complications were found after the operation, and no recurrence was observed during follow-up. Conclusion: The ectopic corpus cavernosum in the bladder has never been reported for children, which is presented as a benign tumor with rapid proliferation and large size. Surgery is recommended. However, the transurethral resection of bladder tumors is difficult to perform due to narrow urethra and limited surgical instruments. Bladder incision and tumor resection may be preferred.
RESUMO
Bladder cancer (BC) is one of the most common human malignancies that account for major death in the world. Apoptin that is derived from chicken anemia virus (CAV) has displayed tumor-specific cytotoxic activity in a variety of human carcinomas. However, the magical function of apoptin in bladder carcinoma cell lines has not been identified yet. In our study, we delivered apoptin into bladder-originating T24, EJ, and HCV29 cell lines by adenovirus system. The selective cytotoxic effect of apoptin was determined by cell viability assay, active caspase-3 measurement, and annexin V/PI double staining. Importantly, we have examined the differential expression patterns of tumor-associated genes including Ki67, C-erbB-2, Rb, and nm23 by flow cytometry and western blot in vitro. In an animal study, apoptin was infused into animal models by AAV system, and immunohistochemistry and quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) were employed to validate results in vivo. The results indicated that apoptin could selectively induce apoptosis in bladder tumorigenic cells coupled with tumor-specific nucleus accumulation in vitro. Interestingly, apoptin could downregulate expression levels of Ki67 and C-erbB-2 and upregulate the expression of Rb both in vitro and in vivo. Moreover, the animal models treated with AAV-apoptin have shown smaller tumor volumes and displayed better prognosis than controls. In conclusion, apoptin could selectively induce apoptosis in bladder tumor cells through altering expression profiles of tumor-associated genes.

BACKGROUND: Crossed fused renal ectopia (CFRE) is an extremely rare congenital anomaly of the urinary tract that is prone to stone formation. The surgical treatment of CFRE with stones is challenging due to anatomical abnormalities. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Right kidney stones were treated by flexible ureteroscopic lithotripsy (FURSL) and left kidney stones were treated by robotic surgery. RESULTS: The authors present an unreported case of bilateral renal stones in a patient with CFRE, which was successfully treated by robotic pyelolithotomy combined with FURSL. The procedure was manoeuverable, and the stone-free rate was satisfactory. CONCLUSIONS: CFRE with stones (S-shaped kidney) present a surgical challenge due to anatomical abnormalities and a high stone burden. The authors recommend robotic pyelolithotomy with or without FURSL as a viable treatment option for stones with similar anatomical abnormalities.
RESUMO
Bladder cancer (BC) is one of the most common malignant tumors worldwide and poses a significant hazard to human health. During the development of BC, hypoxia plays a crucial role. Hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) is a key transcription factor for hypoxic adaptation, which regulates the transcription of various genes, including inflammation, angiogenesis, and glycolytic metabolism. Recent studies have shown the precise role of HIF in various biological behaviors of BC. More importantly, a new antitumor medication targeting HIF-2 has been used to treat renal cancer. However, therapies targeting HIF-1 in BC have not yet been developed. In this review, we discussed how HIF-1 is expressed and affects the growth, metastasis, and angiogenesis of BC. At the same time, we investigated several HIF-1 inhibitors that provide new perspectives for targeting HIF-1.
RESUMO
Background: Cystitis glandularis is a common bladder epithelial lesion characterized by hyperplasia and metaplasia of the bladder mucosa epithelium. The pathogenesis of cystitis glandularis of the intestinal type is unknown and less common. When cystitis glandularis (intestinal type) is extremely severely differentiated, it is called florid cystitis glandularis (the occurrence is extremely rare). Case summary: Both patients were middle-aged men. In patient 1, the lesion was also seen in the posterior wall and was diagnosed more than 1 year ago as cystitis glandularis with urethral stricture. Patient 2 was examined for symptoms such as hematuria and was found to have an occupied bladder; both were treated surgically, and the postoperative pathology was diagnosed as florid cystitis glandularis (intestinal type), with mucus extravasation. Conclusion: The pathogenesis of cystitis glandularis (intestinal type) is unknown and less common. When cystitis glandularis of the intestinal type is extremely severely differentiated, we call it florid cystitis glandularis. It is more common in the bladder neck and trigone. The clinical manifestations are mainly symptoms of bladder irritation, or hematuria as the main complaint, which rarely leads to hydronephrosis. Imaging is nonspecific and the diagnosis depends on pathology. Surgical excision of the lesion is possible. Due to the malignant potential of cystitis glandularis of intestinal type, postoperative follow-up is required.
RESUMO
Background: Schwannoma is a benign tumor, of which degenerated schwannoma is a subtype. Retroperitoneal schwannomas are extremely rare, as they account for only 3% of retroperitoneal tumors.Degenerated schwannoma is a schwannoma subtype. However, degenerated schwannoma occurring in the adrenal glands is extremely rare. Case summary: Case 1: A 42-year-old man was referred to our hospital for further examination of a left adrenal mass that was incidentally discovered during a routine physical check-up.No significant abnormalities were found in laboratory tests results. Robotic-assisted laparoscopic excision of the left adrenal gland was performed under general anesthesia. Case 2: A 47-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of a left adrenal mass found on a routine physical examination. The patient was previously in good health, and there was no family history of a similar disorder. Left-sided laparoscopic adrenalectomy was performed under general anaesthesia. Case 3: A 62-year-old woman with hypertension and diabetes mellitus was referred to our hospital after an incidentally found left adrenal mass. There was no family history of a similar disorder. Left-sided laparoscopic adrenalectomy was performed under general anaesthesia. None of the patients had a recurrence in our study during the postoperative follow-up. Conclusion: Degenerated schwannoma of the adrenal glands is very rare. The clinical presentations of degenerated schwannoma are nonspecific; a small number of patients do not have any symptoms, and the mass is only found incidentally during physical examination for any number of reasons. The preoperative diagnosis of adrenal degenerated schwannoma is difficult because the diagnosis must rely on pathological examination and immunohistochemistry assays. The management is surgical excision and regular follow-up.
RESUMO
Background: Unicornuate uterus is a congenital uterine malformation. Unicornuate uterus with rudimentary horn, ovarian endometriosis, and congenital renal agenesis are rare combinations that can be easily misdiagnosed due to the lack of typical clinical manifestations. Case summary: A 19-year-old woman with pelvic pain was admitted to the hospital after a month. Physical examination was unremarkable. B-ultrasound and CT scan both indicated pelvic ectopic kidney. In addition, renal scintigraphy revealed normal perfusion and function of the right kidney, but the perfusion and function of the left kidney were not visible. A left pelvic ectopic kidney was diagnosed by preoperative images. A laparoscopic left pelvic ectopic nephrectomy was performed after adequate surgical preparation. However, the postoperative pathological diagnosis revealed a rudimentary uterine horn with ovarian endometriosis and congenital renal agenesis. Fortunately, she got recovered and was discharged from the hospital after 5 days following the operation. Moreover, she received regular follow-ups at the gynecology clinic. To date, no right adnexal or uterine abnormalities have been detected on ultrasound during the follow-up visits. Conclusion: Rudimentary uterine horn with ovarian endometriosis and congenital renal agenesis are rare and are easily Misdiagnosed due to the lack of typical clinical manifestations. A gynecological examination is recommended for patients who may have this disease.
RESUMO
Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy (mPCNL) with vacuum suction sheath in the treatment of renal calculi. Methods: We collected relevant studies of vacuum suction sheath and non-vacuum sheath mPCNL from PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane databases for a meta-analysis following Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Results: 7 studies were included (4 randomized controlled studies, 3 retrospective studies involving 1803 patients). The final meta-analysis results showed that the operative time (Standardised Mean Difference [SMD] = -0.84, 95% CI [-1.20; -0.48], P < 0.001), auxiliary procedures (Odds Ratio [OR] = 0.61, 95% CI [0.46; 0.81], P < 0.001) and complications in the vacuum suction sheath group were significantly lower than those in the non-vacuum sheath group. The immediate and final stone-free rates (OR = 1.69, 95% CI [1.30; 2.18], P < 0.001; OR = 1.44, 95% CI [0.98; 2.13], P = 0.039) were also significantly lower in the vacuum suction sheath group. Conclusion: This study indicates that the application of vacuum suction sheath in mPCNL can significantly shorten the operative time and patient hospitalization, reduce auxiliary procedures and complications (especially fever, urinary tract infection, and pain).

Background: The ectopic pancreas is a kind of congenital malformation formed during embryonic development, which has no anatomical relationship with the normal pancreas and is a rare solid disease. The ectopic pancreas in the adrenal glands is extremely rare. Case summary: A 32-year-old man was admitted to the hospital after experiencing elevated blood pressure for 2 years as well as dizziness and blurred vision for 2 weeks. He had an elevated blood pressure of 170/110â mmHg (1â mmHg = 0.133â kPa) on physical examination 2 years ago, without palpitations, chest pain, and chest tightness. Two weeks ago, he presented with dizziness and blurred vision. Blood renin and aldosterone levels were elevated. Plain CT and contrast-enhanced CT scan showed nodular thickening of the left adrenal and homogeneous enhancement, which was initially considered adrenal adenoma. The postoperative pathology supported the ectopic pancreas in the left adrenal. After 78 months of postoperative follow-up, no recurrence was observed, but his blood pressure remained persistently high. Conclusion: The ectopic pancreas occurring in the adrenal glands is extremely rare, has no specific clinical symptoms, and is mainly found for other reasons. It can easily be misdiagnosed as an adrenal adenoma. The final confirmation of the diagnosis still depends on the pathological biopsy. A great deal of reporting is still required for whether there is a correlation with elevated blood pressure.

Background: Endometrial stromal sarcoma is a relatively rare malignant tumor that derives from the malignant transformation of primitive uterine mesenchymal cells. It can lead to distant metastases. High-grade endometrial stromal sarcoma is extremely rare. The adrenal glands are an unreported site of metastasis. Case summary: A 71-year-old woman with a diagnosis of endometrial stromal sarcoma 30 months ago. After receiving treatment with radiotherapy and chemotherapy, the patient was kept asymptomatic during the follow-up until 2 years later, when she complained of dyspnea. Pulmonary and right adrenal gland metastases were detected by 18F-FDG PET/CT. The right upper lobe mass was diagnosed as a high-grade endometrial stromal sarcoma metastasis after postoperative pathology. Due to the patient's high risk of surgery, as she had many underlying diseases, we performed adequate preoperative preparation. The physical examination revealed that a hard mass was palpable in the right renal area. The right adrenal mass was resected in our hospital. Immunohistochemistry showed ER (-), PR (-), CD10 (+), P16 (+), Ki-67 (50%). The final diagnosis on pathological examination was a high-grade ESS metastatic to the right adrenal gland. The patient continued treatment in other hospitals after surgical resection. After four months of postoperative follow-up, metastasis was detected again during a PET/CT examination at an outside hospital. Conclusion: Endometrial stromal sarcoma is rare, and the adrenal glands are an unreported site of metastasis. It has no specific clinical symptoms and mainly found for other reasons. The diagnosis still depends on pathology and immunohistochemistry. If there is no relevant past history, it is difficult to exclude a primary adrenal tumor.
RESUMO
BACKGROUND: Urinary bladder haemangioma is a benign nonurothelial tumour that rarely occurs in paediatric and adolescent patients. Clinical and radiological examinations are not adequate for an accurate diagnosis. The purpose of this serial case report is to raise awareness of urinary bladder haemangioma and appropriate management. CASE SUMMARY: We described two rare cases of urinary bladder haemangioma that were confirmed by histopathology followed by immunohistochemistry and reviewed the literature on the diagnosis and treatment of patients with this disease. The radical cystectomy was performed with open method surgery associated with an abdominal wall ostomy of the ileal outlet tract for case 1. Case 2 underwent a laparoscopic partial cystectomy. Postoperative pathology confirmed the diagnosis of urinary bladder haemangioma. Haematuria resolved postoperatively, and there was no evidence of tumour recurrence in 3 years follow-up for case 1. Postoperative urinary and pelvic ultrasonography showed no signs of recurrence in 3 mo follow-up for case 2. CONCLUSION: Careful histopathological and immunohistochemical studies are required to establish the correct diagnosis. There is no "gold standard" treatment for urinary bladder haemangioma, and treatment options are varied for individuals with favourable follow-ups.
