The Internet of Things (IoT) will bring about the next industrial revolution in Industry 4.0. The communication aspect of IoT devices is one of the most critical factors in choosing the device that is suitable for use. Thus far, the IoT physical layer communication challenges have been met with various communications protocols that provide varying strengths and weaknesses. This paper summarizes the network architectures of some of the most popular IoT wireless communications protocols. It also presents a comparative analysis of some of the critical features, including power consumption, coverage, data rate, security, cost, and quality of service (QoS). This comparative study shows that low-power wide area network (LPWAN)-based IoT protocols (LoRa, Sigfox, NB-IoT, LTE-M) are more suitable for future industrial applications because of their energy efficiency, high coverage, and cost efficiency. In addition, the study also presents an Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) application perspective on the suitability of LPWAN protocols in a particular scenario and addresses some open issues that need to be researched. Thus, this study can assist in deciding the most suitable IoT communication protocol for an industrial and production field.

Calcium, with its excellent adsorptive property and higher permissible limits in the environment, emerges as an effective wastewater treatment earth metal. Most of the catalysts, photocatalysts, and adsorbents reported in the literature have heavy metal complex, which creates a leaching problem. Majorly, precursors used for the synthesis of heterogeneous catalysts for wastewater treatment are costly. Therefore, the use of such precursors would be not suitable and feasible approach from an economic point of view. This review work is focused on giving an overview of the utilisation of calcium-based catalysts (adsorbents and photocatalyst) for the removal/degradation of various types of dye water pollutants and summarises the reported effects of calcium as a base on the removal efficiency of dopants. In this article, an extensive literature survey is presented on the various photocatalysts developed and the different syntheses involved in their preparation. As the utilisation of marble powder is a green sustainable approach, the scope of various calcium-based photocatalysts and their application is presented. This article also aims for the elementary and inclusive determination of the effect of introducing calcium as a base for different catalysts and adsorbents.

BACKGROUND: Dementia, a significant cognitive impairment, is characterized by a decline in memory. It affects an individual's mood and behavior, which can impair their quality of life and well-being. Studies show that the demand for applying music as a new therapy method for dementia has increased during the last decades. OBJECTIVE: To review the studies conducted on the impacts of music on different symptoms of dementia and provide readers with a more detailed picture of the efficacy of music, and recognize gaps in the literature. METHODS: Electronic searches were conducted in the Cochrane Library (1938), Embase (773), Medline and PubMed (700), PsycINFO (89), and Scopus (218) databases. The search was comprised of all the literature from 2010 to 2020. For the search, key terms including "Dementia" AND "music" OR "music intervention" OR "music therapy" and index terms "clinical trial" OR "randomized controlled trials" were used. Finally, after screening 891 citations, 30 studies were included. RESULTS: In general, it was observed that in most cases, music could be used as one of the safe and cost-effective non-pharmacological approaches for dementia treatment. However, in some studies, no impact or short-term effect of music on some symptoms of dementia such as wandering, agitation, and cognition was detected. CONCLUSION: Observing no effect or even negative impact of music on people living with dementia could be due to a random selection of music, fewer individuals, and the lack of a standard protocol. High heterogeneity in outcomes did not allow for clear conclusions on the benefits of music in dementia. This demands a comprehensive non-pharmacological music treatment approach to be designed for each stage of dementia to be employed alongside pharmacological treatments. This study proposes 13 gaps in the research on the health impact of music on dementia that could be studied by future researchers.

MyHeifer is an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) intervention application aimed at better understanding patients' behavioral patterns and informing healthcare decisions, easing caregiver burden, and providing an emotional outlet for patients. Children with ASD often struggle with the complexity of human communication because of the array of verbal and nonverbal communication methods at play. Because of this, technological interventions can be a valuable tool for communicating with children with ASD because of their simplicity. Hence the MyHeifer application seeks to provide an uncomplicated environment for children with ASD to express and explore their emotions. Children perform "actions" or "interactions" which are classified as either positive or negative behaviors. Through these interactions, children learn various ways to react to situations. The choices children make are collected and serve as a basis for future healthcare decisions. Because communication is often difficult for children with ASD, utilizing data from past actions or interactions helps caregivers anticipate and understand the challenges to make better emotional and behavioral connections in individual patients in order to address personalized care needs.

The goal of this project is to develop a novel and innovative mobile solution to address behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) that occur in individuals with Alzheimer's. BPSD can include agitation, restlessness, aggression, apathy, obsessive-compulsive and repetitive behaviors, hallucinations, delusions, paranoia, and wandering. Alzheimer's currently affects 5.4 million adults in the United States and that number is projected to increase to 14 million by 2050. Almost 90% of all affected with AD experience BPSD, resulting in increased healthcare costs, heavier burden on caregivers, poor patient outcomes, early nursing home placement, long-term hospitalizations, and misuse of medications. Pharmacological support may have undesirable side effects such as sedation. Nonpharmacological interventions are alternative solutions that have shown to be effective without undesirable side effects. Music therapy has been found to lower BPSD symptoms significantly. Our study is based on combination of the reminiscence and the music therapies where past memorable events are recalled using prompts such as photos, videos, and music. We are proposing a mobile multimedia solution, a technical version of the combined reminiscence, and music therapies to prevent the occurrence of BPSD, especially for the rural population who have reduced access to dementia care services.
