[Treatment of unusually resistant prostato-urethritis]. / Príspevek k terapii mimorádne úporných prostatouretritid.

From a total number of 1410 patients only 67, i. e. less than 5% were very torpid cases, i. e. cases which called for treatment longer than two years. The main factors of chronicity of the disease and its refractory character are chronic congestion and oedema, fibrous tissue changes, allergy, the last frequent cause being chronic bacterial infection (only six patients). The author discusses therapeutic methods he found most useful in the treatment of the four mentioned aetiopathogenetic components. Among others he draws attention to a new experience, the very favourable action of Reparil therapy in surgical congestive prostatitis.
