RESUMO
Cellular composition of the peripheric, intermediate and central lymph of man and animals of different species normally and under pathological conditions is characterized on the basis of the analysis of the current literature and the authors' own investigations. Some mechanisms of formation, distribution, and utilization of cells are considered. It is concluded that examination of the cellular composition of the lymph is of prognostic and diagnostic value in the clinic.

The mechanism of radioactive heparin S-35 transport in the connective tissue of hindlimbs, was studied in dogs. The transport was shown to occur only via lymphatic capillaries if the lympho-blood flow is present in prenodal lymphatic ducts of popliteal lymphatic nodes and v. saphena. The radioactive heparin appears in the blood in 20 min after its registration in lymph.

The changes of properdin level in different kinds of lymph and blood of dogs in case of burn of hind paws (the 1st group), and of craniocerebral injury (the 2nd group) were investigated. The properdin level proved to increase in the lymph of the cervical duct and the afferent lymph of the popliteal node in both the groups of dogs. The properdin level in the afferent lymph of the popliteal lymph node, thoracic duct and in blood was reduced in case of the burn and rose in cranicerebral injury. The total protein level in the afferent and efferent lymph of the popliteal lymph node, the cervical and thoracic ducts rose, whereas the total blood protein level fell.

It was shown in experiments on dogs that the terminal blood letting with the subsequent reanimation by intrabone autoblood force pumping caused regular redistribution of proteins between blood, lymph, and tissues. Properdine and alpha-globulin retention in interstitium not eliminable by reanimation measures, and also stress secretion of gamma-globulins from the lymph nodes was noted.

Experiments conducted on 25 dogs demonstrated that burn was accompanied by a regular redistribution of plasma proteins between the fluid media of the organism and an intensification of lymphogenic resorption. Properdin, albumin, and alpha2-globulin retardation in tissues in case of burn was demonstrated indirectly. The degree of burn proved to depend on the initial properdin level.
