RESUMO
Objective: The study aimed to analyze the clinical features and prognosis of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) with t (14;18) (q32;q21) and conduct a literature review. Methods: The clinical data of 8 patients with CLL carrying t (14;18) (q32;q21) seen in Jiangsu Province Hospital from November 2009 to November 2019 were collected and analyzed. Results: Among the 8 cases, 7 were male and 1 was female. The median age at diagnosis was 70 years old. The immunophenotype score was 5 in 3 patients. 4 patients were scored 4 and the remaining one scored 3. The bone marrow histopathology showed the typical manifestation of CLL. Karyotype analysis showed that all the cases carried t (14;18) (q32;q21) in the stemline. The t (14;18) (q32;q21) showed as the sole abnormality in 3 cases, with +12 in 4, and with 13q- in 1 case. 13q- was found in another 3 patients by FISH. Immunoglobulin heavy chain gene (IGHV) mutation status was detected in 6 cases and all of them were mutated. None of them used IGHV3-21. Only 1 case harbored TP53 mutation and no TP53, SF3B1, NOTCH1, or MYD88 mutations were found in the remaining cases who underwent the relevant tests. At a median follow-up of 30.9 months, 1 case died. The remaining 7 cases survived and 3 of them have not reached the treatment indication. 4 patients who received chemotherapy or immunotherapy were stable. Conclusions: The t (14;18) (q32;q21) is rare in CLL and often accompanied by +12 and mutated IGHV. CLL with t (14; 18) (q32; q21) tends to have a good prognosis.

This study reports a laser irradiation process to enhance the field emission properties of buckypaper, which is a thin sheet of high-loading carbon nanotube networks. The scanning laser treated the selected regions of buckypaper to activate carbon nanotube (CNT) emitters. This post-process causes a decrease in turn-on field and increases the field enhancement factor (beta), luminance intensity, and uniformity of buckypaper emitters. The phosphorescence luminance intensity and uniformity of buckypaper emitters are measured and characterized. The low turn-on field of 0.56 V microm(-1), highest average luminance intensity of 235.9/255, and uniformity of 99.8% are achieved by adjusting the machining parameters of laser power, laser lens motion speed, laser resolution, laser beam size, and pattern orientation. Those parameters relate to the field emission properties of beta, turn-on electric field, luminance intensity, and uniformity. Using design of experiment (DOE) methodology, the optimal parameter settings for high and uniform electron emission of a buckypaper emitter are obtained within fewer experimental runs.
RESUMO
In this work the electric discharge machining (EDM) implementing with multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) as a miniscule electrode for pursuing precise surface modification was studied. The excellent upright growth of carbon nanotubes on copper based alloy substrates by a radio frequency (RF) assisted hot filament chemical vapor deposition (HFCVD) method suggests us to exploit MWCNTs as the miniature electrodes for discharge machining. The results reveal that the electrodes are much endurable to be distorted even when the spoiling rates for the polishing of n-type Si wafer (of 10 to approximately 100 omega-cm) are up to 30 nm/min with. It is expected that MWCNTs can be applied to non-conventional material processing especially in miniature discharge machining.

A solo carbon nanotube (CNT) was successfully grown on nickel electrodes by a microwave plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (MPECVD) method equipped with an impedance-matched substrate holder with the reaction gases composed of hydrogen (H2), carbon dioxide (CO2), and methane (CH4) mixtures. An introduction of carbon dioxide gas before CNTs growth, the substrate temperature can easily be reached above 610 degrees C even heated at a low microwave power. This can be enunciated from fact that carbon dioxide inherits with higher bond energy for molecular dissociation, lower thermal conductivity, and higher heat capacity in comparing to other gases. The electron field emissions for randomly aligned CNTs and well-aligned CNTs grown by MPECVD and by radio frequency assisted hot-filament methods, respectively, are measured and compared. The higher field emission characteristic of the randomly aligned CNTs is presumed to be due to the protruded CNTs, which inheriting with less screening effect and manifesting with defects are crucial to play the effective emission sites.

An epidemiological comparative study on dietary patterns and population means of blood pressure was undertaken in 10 groups (3 of workers, 6 of farmers, 1 of fishermen) of adult males and females of northeast, north, south, middle and east China. Standardized methods and record forms were used for blood pressure measurements and 24-hr dietary recall interviews. Simple correlation and linear regression, multiple regression (adjusted for age, sex and body mass index) and ridge regression were used to analyze the relationship of dietary electrolytes and animal protein to blood pressure. The results show a significant negative association of mean daily intake of Ca and animal protein with population mean blood pressure. Excluding the fishermen's group, mean daily intake of Na showed significant positive association with both systolic and diastolic blood pressure. The Chinese diet should probably be improved, increasing Ca and animal protein and cutting salt to a much lower level.
