RESUMO
It is shown that in patients with cerebral circulatory disorders, the prostacyclin -thromboxane balance is replaced toward the latter one. As a result of nifedipine administration part of the test subjects demonstrate a rise of the content of prostacyclin and a decline of the concentration of thromboxane. This effect of nifedipine is ascertained to be in a good agreement with its action on blood inflow to the brain and platelet aggregation. It is concluded that the efficacy of nifedipine can be raised if it is combined with the drugs that enhance the synthesis of prostacyclins in the body.

Sensitivity of thrombocytes to the antiaggregation effect of prostacyclin was decreased in patients with dyscirculatory encephalopathy, which occurred in response to, at least, two reasons: a decrease in content of highly affinity receptors of prostacyclin on thrombocyte membranes and as a result of impairment in binding ability of the thrombocyte protein kinases. Combination of both these factors was also possible, which caused especially distinct impairments in the prostacyclin control of the thrombocyte functions.

The level of LTB4 and LTC4 in blood plasma of patients with familial mediterranean fever is significantly higher than in healthy donors: 53 + 10 pg/ml for LTB4 (normal - 25 + 5 pg/ml) and 175 + 22 pg/ml for LTC4 (normal 67 + 19 pg/ml). The more increase of the LTB4 and LTC4 content in plasma is observed during attacks of fever - 107 + 21 pg/ml (LTB4) and 249 + 34 pg/ml (LTC4). Hyperbaric oxygenation of patients, used to relieve pain and fever, reduces the level of leukotrienes.

In the present study the content of leukotrienes B4 and C4 (LTB and LTC) in rat serum was investigated. The changes in the leukotriene content after thermal burn was different from that after X-irradiation and combined effect of radiation and heat.
