RESUMO

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a physical shutdown of all types of educational institutes worldwide due to which the education delivery has now shifted to an "online only" exclusivity model. In this perspective, perceived usability of the online learning platforms that are currently being used is an important aspect, especially due to the absence of any physical classes. In this work Microsoft Teams is used as the reference platform for which the perceived usability is evaluated. For the evaluation purpose a dual strategy is followed by using the System Usability Scale (SUS), which is a Human Computer Interaction (HCI) based approach, and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), which is an Information Systems (IS) based approach. Although both these instruments are popular in their respective domains, yet they have not been considered simultaneously in one work for the purpose of usability evaluation. By doing so, this work attempts to streamline and unify the process of usability evaluation. Results that are obtained from a large-scale survey of university students show the similarity and equivalency between the two methodologies, with the Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU) construct of TAM having greater similarity with SUS. Moreover, this work also considers the digital-divide aspect (mobile vs. web environment) that is prevalent particularly in developing countries like India, and whether it has any effect on the perceived usability. Results show that the consumption platform does not have any effect on the usability aspect.

This comprehensive review explores the complex terrain of stem cell therapies as a potential therapeutic frontier in the healing of complicated burn wounds. Serious tissue damage, impaired healing processes, and possible long-term consequences make burn wounds a complex problem. An in-depth review is required since, despite medical progress, existing methods for treating severe burn wounds have significant limitations. Burn wounds are difficult to heal because they cause extensive tissue damage. The challenges of burn injury-induced tissue regeneration and functional recovery are also the subject of this review. Although there is a lot of promise in current stem cell treatments, there are also some limitations with scalability, finding the best way to transport the cells, and finding consistent results across different types of patients. To shed light on how to improve stem cell interventions to heal severe burn wounds, this review covers various stem cell applications in burn wounds and examines these obstacles. To overcome these obstacles, one solution is to enhance methods of stem cell distribution, modify therapies according to the severity of the burn, and conduct more studies on how stem cell therapy affects individual patients. Novel solutions may also be possible through the combination of cutting-edge technologies like nanotechnology and biotechnology. This review seeks to increase stem cell interventions by analyzing present challenges and suggesting strategic improvements. The goal is to provide a more effective and tailored way to repair serious burn wounds.

Emerged health-related problems especially with increasing population and with the wider occurrence of these issues have always put the utmost concern and led medicine to outgrow its usual mode of treatment, to achieve better outcomes. Orthopedic interventions are one of the most concerning hitches, requiring advancement in several issues, that show complications with conventional approaches. Advanced studies have been undertaken to address the issue, among which stem cell therapy emerged as a better area of growth. The capacity of the stem cells to renovate themselves and adapt into different cell types made it possible to implement its use as a regenerative slant. Harvesting the stem cells, particularly mesenchymal stem cells is easier and can be further grown in vitro. In this review, we have discussed orthopedic-related issues including bone defects and fractures, non-unions, ligament and tendon injuries, degenerative changes, and associated conditions, which require further approaches to execute better outcomes, and the advanced strategies that can be tagged along with various ways of application of mesenchymal stem cells. It aims to objectify the idea of stem cells, with a major focus on the application of Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) from different sources in various orthopedic interventions. It also discusses the limitations, and future scopes for further approaches in the field of regenerative medicine. The involvement of mesenchymal stem cells may transition the procedures in orthopedic interventions from predominantly surgical substitution and reconstruction to bio-regeneration and prevention. Nevertheless, additional improvements and evaluations are required to explore the effectiveness and safety of mesenchymal stem cell treatment in orthopedic regenerative medicine.

RESUMO

Amidst the present healthcare issues, diabetes is unique as an emerging class of affliction with chronicity in a majority of the population. To check and control its effects, there have been huge turnover and constant development of management strategies, and though a bigger part of the health care area is involved in achieving its control and the related issues such as the effect of diabetes on wound healing and care and many of the works have reached certain successful outcomes, still there is a huge lack in managing it, with maximum effect yet to be attained. Studying pathophysiology and involvement of various treatment options, such as tissue engineering, application of hydrogels, drug delivery methods, and enhancing angiogenesis, are at constantly developing stages either direct or indirect. In this review, we have gathered a wide field of information and different new therapeutic methods and targets for the scientific community, paving the way toward more settled ideas and research advances to cure diabetic wounds and manage their outcomes.

Information Security Awareness (ISA) is a significant concept that got considerable attention recently and can assist in minimizing the risks associated with information security breaches. Several measurement scales have been developed in this regard, as measuring users' ISA is paramount. Although ISA specific scales are very important, yet what methodological rigor they use in terms of initial conceptualization of ISA, data collection and analysis during the development, and scale validation of such scales are some unknown aspects. Therefore, we provide a comprehensive review of the existing ISA specific scales to address all the above concerns. A popular method, PRISMA, is utilized, and a total of 24 articles that match with criteria of this research are included for the final in-depth analysis. Also, a holistic evaluation framework is developed containing three phases and 19 criteria. Findings revealed that most studies treat ISA as a multi-dimensional construct, and ISA researchers rarely conduct both pilot testing and pre-text evaluation while validating and refining the initial scales. Additionally, several articles did not report some of the essential elements used for checking the rigor of factor analysis, and evidence for validities of the identified scales is inadequate. Consequently, existing ISA specific scales must be improved both in terms of the methodological thoroughness of the scale development procedure and their validities. Moreover, not only justifying why the development of a new scale is necessary, but also improving the quality of the existing scales by doing multiple iterations is significant in the future. Likewise, the inclusion of all the dimensions of ISA, while generating the initial items pool is an important aspect to be considered. A thorough discussion, recommendations for future research, conclusions, and study limitations are provided.

Advances in artificial intelligence (AI) have ushered in a new era of consumer electronic (CE) devices: the voice-based CE devices (VCED's). A striking feature that separates these from other CE devices are their anthropomorphic capabilities. While current CE research has given a strong focus on improving various technical and security aspects of the VCED's, not much efforts have been given to explore their diffusion and acceptance in the society. However, if the CE community is to progress then there is an urgent need to view these systems from a sociotechnical perspective and take the user perceptions into account for further product development. In this work we propose a novel research framework by incorporating Human Computer Interaction (HCI) theories and Para Social Relationship Theory for exploring the effect of trust on the behavioral intention of users towards VCED's, keeping in mind their human-like attributes. Data is analyzed using a Structural Equation Modelling approach from 675 users of VCED devices from two Asian countries. Results show that the functional aspects of performance and effort expectancy, and social aspects of presence and cognition affect the trust factor. Privacy concerns do not affect trust. Overall, the results suggest that users treat VCED's as social objects employing social rules while interaction that indicates a dual nature of anthropomorphic systems. Suitable suggestions are provided for CE researchers for future research.

Voice assistants (VA) are an emerging technology that have become an essential tool of the twenty-first century. The VA ease of access and use has resulted in high usability curiosity in voice assistants. Usability is an essential aspect of any emerging technology, with every technology having a standardized usability measure. Despite the high acceptance rate on the use of VA, to the best of our knowledge, not many studies were carried out on voice assistants' usability. We reviewed studies that used voice assistants for various tasks in this context. Our study highlighted the usability measures currently used for voice assistants. Moreover, our study also highlighted the independent variables used and their context of use. We employed the ISO 9241-11 framework as the measuring tool in our study. We highlighted voice assistant's usability measures currently used; both within the ISO 9241-11 framework, as well as outside of it to provide a comprehensive view. A range of diverse independent variables are identified that were used to measure usability. We also specified that the independent variables still not used to measure some usability experience. We currently concluded what was carried out on voice assistant usability measurement and what research gaps were present. We also examined if the ISO 9241-11 framework can be used as a standard measurement tool for voice assistants.

Currently, the use of voice-assistants has been on the rise, but a user-centric usability evaluation of these devices is a must for ensuring their success. System Usability Scale (SUS) is one such popular usability instrument in a Graphical User Interface (GUI) scenario. However, there are certain fundamental differences between GUI and voice-based systems, which makes it uncertain regarding the suitability of SUS in a voice scenario. The present work has a twofold objective: to check the suitability of SUS for usability evaluation of voice-assistants and developing a subjective scale in line with SUS that considers the unique aspects of voice-based communication. We call this scale as the Voice Usability Scale (VUS). For fulfilling the objectives, a subjective test is conducted with 62 participants. An Exploratory Factor Analysis suggests that SUS has a number of drawbacks for measuring the voice usability. Moreover, in case of VUS, the most optimal factor structure identifies three main components: usability, affective, and recognizability and visibility. The current findings should provide an initial starting point to form a useful theoretical and practical basis for subjective usability assessment of voice-based systems.
