As evidenced by the author's findings, the use of the method of ultrasonic echolocation of long tubular bones facilitates the recognition of acute osteomyelitis in the stage of intramedullary abscess and also makes it possible to reduce the number of diagnostic errors and improve the results of treatment.

[Choice of a method of draining the mediastinum in children with anterior purulent mediastinitis]. / Vybor metoda drenirovaniia sredosteniia u detei s perednim gnoinym mediastinitom.

The authors make an analysis of results of the treatment of 10 children of early age with anterior purulent mediastinitis. Indications for different methods of drainage of mediastinum are discussed in the restricted and extended processes. The method of retrosternal drainage of mediastinum in its total length is described for extended purulent mediastinitis. The proposed technique in combination with medication and infusion therapy allowed to avoid lethal outcomes.

[The value of biochemical indices of the blood in early diagnosis of gastric cancer]. / Znachenie biokhimicheskikh pokazatelei krovi v rannei diagnostike raka zheludka.

The results of biochemical blood analysis in 75 patients with I-II stage gastric cancer have been analysed. The control group was comprised of 210 patients with gastritis, callous ulcer and polyps of the stomach. By means of a correlation-regression analysis, the non-linear relations between I-II stage gastric cancer and biochemical indices of the blood were revealed. The highly significant indices for diagnosis of the disease in mass examination of the population have been developed.
