RESUMO

Microcirculation was studied over time in 51 patients with acute viral hepatitides types A and B using bulbar microphotographic vasography. The results were compared with some immunological indices (the blood level of circulating immune complexes, the platelet aggregation test). The expression of microcirculatory changes correlated both with a type of virus hepatitis and the severity of disease. The relationship of disorders in the system of microcirculation with immune factors, in particular with immunopathological reactions developing during HBV infections, was discussed.

RESUMO

Ineffectiveness of malaria treatment is in many cases explained by chloroquine resistance (CR) of plasmodia (CRP) which dominates in some regions of Africa and South-East Asia. The authors present their experience in malaria treatment obtained during many years, analyse malaria treatment by new antimalaria drugs in "non-immune" persons temporarily living in endemic regions.

RESUMO

Humoral and cellular immunity were studied in 34, 59 and 21 patients with mild, moderate and severe tropical malaria in the course of the disease. It was found that immunological indices in tropical malaria change with the disease severity. Some immunological indices may be indicative of the infection severity, outcome and prognosis of the disease and contribute to more effective chemotherapy and immunocorrection.

RESUMO

The authors demonstrate that severe and fulminant forms of acute hepatitis B (AHB) are associated with low concentrations of HBsAg and anti HBs in peripheral blood. In the majority of cyclic AHB cases HBeAg is registered in the serum for 2-3 weeks, whereas in more severe course of AHB its indication is shorter, with occasional occurrence of serological window. The more severe and longer was AHB course the lower was concentration of HBsAg in peripheral blood. The assessment of the complete profile of serological markers of HBV infection and HBsAg concentration in the serum in the course of the disease will promote more effective diagnosis of the disease pattern and outcome.

RESUMO

An examination of a thick blood drop and of blood smear for the presence of plasmodia is a classic and indisputable diagnostic test for tropic malaria. However, express-methods, based on the immune-enzyme analysis, have been introduced into the health-care practice primarily in developing and underdeveloped countries. The diagnosis of tropic malaria by using the discussed methods enables, in the non-laboratory settings, a rapid and reliable detection of PI. falciparum in blood. This is important because an untimely diagnosis of tropic malaria increases the risk of the lethal outcome.

RESUMO

From the carried out investigations it results that in the acute period hepatitis A and B has an evolution with immunological alterations different in intensity and direction. In hepatitis B a more lasting immune reorganization was pointed out, at the basis of which are, possibly, autoimmune processes which are instituted even at the onset of the disease and which are subsequently conditioning the chronic affecting of the liver.
