RESUMO

Used in a dose of 100 mg/kg lithium chloride modifies the ECG patterns in rats, rabbits and cats. It increases the voltage of P and R waves, the S-T interval and slows down the rhythm of cardiac contractions. In doses of 50-300 mg/kg the compound raises the coronary circulation rate in narcotized cats. The compound exerts an antiarrhythmic action in chlorocalcium arrhythmia in rats, in strophanthin-induced one in cats and frogs and the intensity of this action is not inferior to that produced by potassium chloride, quinidine, novacainamide, izoptin and even exceeds it.

RESUMO

The analysis of operative interventions performed for acute cholecystitis in 3324 patients was carried out. Local peritonitis was revealed in 149 (52.3%) patients, the diffuse one--in 136 (47.7%). Depending on the character of contents of the abdominal cavity, the authors distinguish purulent, biliary and mixed peritonitis. The general principles of tactics for surgical treatment and its different variants depending on a type of peritonitis are substantiated.

RESUMO

DL50 of intraperitoneal lithium oxybutyrate administered to cats was found to amount to 724 mg/kg, while in doses of 13.5--360 mg/kg it increases the coronary blood flow volume in cats by 20.3--122.2 per cent, directly proportional to the dose. Lithium oxybutyrate prevents the chlorocalcium arrhythmia in rats and eliminates strophanthine-induced anemia in cats, surpassing an analogous effect of lithium chloride, potassium chloride, quinidine, novocainamide and isoptin. It raises the activity of the succinate dehydrogenase in the myocardium and weakens the ability of calcium chloride to reduce the glycogen content in the conduction system of the heart in rats.

RESUMO

The results of treatment of 481 patient operated on for obstructive jaundice have been analysed. In 388 (80.7%) patients, jaundice was caused by non-tumor lesion of the bile ducts. At the peak of jaundice, operated on were 312 (64.9%) patients, who experienced no benefit from conservative therapy. The tactics for operative intervention was chosen individually with regard for the cause of jaundice, concomitant pathology and age of a patient. The main cause of death was the aggravating hepato-renal failure due to prolonged jaundice and late hospitalization.

RESUMO

The analysis of lethal outcomes in 108 (3.66%) of the 2974 patients operated on for acute cholecystitis was carried out. In 40.4% of the patients, mainly the elderly and senile, a death was caused by acute hepatorenal failure.
