RESUMO

Glymphatic dysfunction has been correlated with cognitive decline, with a higher choroid plexus volume (CPV) being linked to a slower glymphatic clearance rate. Nevertheless, the interplay between CPV, glymphatic function, and cognitive impairment in white matter hyperintensities (WMHs) has not yet been investigated. In this study, we performed neuropsychological assessment, T1-weighted three-dimensional (3D-T1) images, and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) in a cohort of 206 WMHs subjects and 43 healthy controls (HCs) to further explore the relationship. The DTI analysis along the perivascular space (DTI-ALPS) index, as a measure of glymphatic function, was calculated based on DTI. Severe WMHs performed significantly worse in information processing speed (IPS) than other three groups, as well as in executive function than HCs and mild WMHs. Additionally, severe WMHs demonstrated lower DTI-ALPS index and higher CPV than HCs and mild WMHs. Moderate WMHs displayed higher CPV than HCs and mild WMHs. Mini-Mental State Examination, IPS, and executive function correlated negatively with CPV but positively with DTI-ALPS index in WMHs patients. Glymphatic function partially mediated the association between CPV and IPS, indicating a potential mechanism for WMHs-related cognitive impairment. CPV may act as a valuable prognostic marker and glymphatic system as a promising therapeutic target for WMHs-related cognitive impairment.

Alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) is one of the most important forage legumes in the world, including autotetraploid (M. sativa ssp. sativa) and diploid alfalfa (M. sativa ssp. caerulea, progenitor of autotetraploid alfalfa). Here, we reported a high-quality genome of ZW0012 (diploid alfalfa, 769 Mb, contig N50 = 5.5 Mb), which was grouped into the Northern group in population structure analysis, suggesting that our genome assembly filled a major gap among the members of M. sativa complex. During polyploidization, large phenotypic differences occurred between diploids and tetraploids, and the genetic information underlying its massive phenotypic variations remains largely unexplored. Extensive structural variations (SVs) were identified between ZW0012 and XinJiangDaYe (an autotetraploid alfalfa with released genome). We identified 71 ZW0012-specific PAV genes and 1296 XinJiangDaYe-specific PAV genes, mainly involved in defence response, cell growth, and photosynthesis. We have verified the positive roles of MsNCR1 (a XinJiangDaYe-specific PAV gene) in nodulation using an Agrobacterium rhizobia-mediated transgenic method. We also demonstrated that MsSKIP23_1 and MsFBL23_1 (two XinJiangDaYe-specific PAV genes) regulated leaf size by transient overexpression and virus-induced gene silencing analysis. Our study provides a high-quality reference genome of an important diploid alfalfa germplasm and a valuable resource of variation landscape between diploid and autotetraploid, which will facilitate the functional gene discovery and molecular-based breeding for the cultivars in the future.

Drought is a major threat to alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) production. The discovery of important alfalfa genes regulating drought response will facilitate breeding for drought-resistant alfalfa cultivars. Here, we report a genome-wide association study of drought resistance in alfalfa. We identified and functionally characterized an MYB-like transcription factor gene (MsMYBH), which increases the drought resistance in alfalfa. Compared with the wild-types, the biomass and forage quality were enhanced in MsMYBH overexpressed plants. Combined RNA-seq, proteomics and chromatin immunoprecipitation analysis showed that MsMYBH can directly bind to the promoters of MsMCP1, MsMCP2, MsPRX1A and MsCARCAB to improve their expression. The outcomes of such interactions include better water balance, high photosynthetic efficiency and scavenge excess H2O2 in response to drought. Furthermore, an E3 ubiquitin ligase (MsWAV3) was found to induce MsMYBH degradation under long-term drought, via the 26S proteasome pathway. Furthermore, variable-number tandem repeats in MsMYBH promoter were characterized among a collection of germplasms, and the variation is associated with promoter activity. Collectively, our findings shed light on the functions of MsMYBH and provide a pivotal gene that could be leveraged for breeding drought-resistant alfalfa. This discovery also offers new insights into the mechanisms of drought resistance in alfalfa.

A hybrid composite of organic-inorganic semiconductor nanomaterials with atomic Au clusters at the interface decoration (denoted as PF3T@Au-TiO2 ) is developed for visible-light-driven H2 production via direct water splitting. With a strong electron coupling between the terthiophene groups, Au atoms and the oxygen atoms at the heterogeneous interface, significant electron injection from the PF3T to TiO2 occurs leading to a quantum leap in the H2 production yield (18 578 µmol g-1 h-1 ) by ≈39% as compared to that of the composite without Au decoration (PF3T@TiO2 , 11 321 µmol g-1 h-1 ). Compared to the pure PF3T, such a result is 43-fold improved and is the best performance among all the existing hybrid materials in similar configurations. With robust process control via industrially applicable methods, it is anticipated that the findings and proposed methodologies can accelerate the development of high-performance eco-friendly photocatalytic hydrogen production technologies.

Millets are a class of nutrient-rich coarse cereals with high resistance to abiotic stress; thus, they guarantee food security for people living in areas with extreme climatic conditions and provide stress-related genetic resources for other crops. However, no platform is available to provide a comprehensive and systematic multi-omics analysis for millets, which seriously hinders the mining of stress-related genes and the molecular breeding of millets. Here, a free, web-accessible, user-friendly millets multi-omics database platform (Milletdb, http://milletdb.novogene.com) has been developed. The Milletdb contains six millets and their one related species genomes, graph-based pan-genomics of pearl millet, and stress-related multi-omics data, which enable Milletdb to be the most complete millets multi-omics database available. We stored GWAS (genome-wide association study) results of 20 yield-related trait data obtained under three environmental conditions [field (no stress), early drought and late drought] for 2 years in the database, allowing users to identify stress-related genes that support yield improvement. Milletdb can simplify the functional genomics analysis of millets by providing users with 20 different tools (e.g., 'Gene mapping', 'Co-expression', 'KEGG/GO Enrichment' analysis, etc.). On the Milletdb platform, a gene PMA1G03779.1 was identified through 'GWAS', which has the potential to modulate yield and respond to different environmental stresses. Using the tools provided by Milletdb, we found that the stress-related PLATZs TFs (transcription factors) family expands in 87.5% of millet accessions and contributes to vegetative growth and abiotic stress responses. Milletdb can effectively serve researchers in the mining of key genes, genome editing and molecular breeding of millets.

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a common pathogen that infects more than half of the world's population. Its infection can not only lead to a variety of gastrointestinal diseases, such as chronic gastritis and gastric cancer (GC) but also be associated with many extra-gastrointestinal diseases. Exosomes, as a new intercellular information transmission medium, can carry biological signal molecules such as microRNAs (miRNAs) to regulate a variety of cellular physiological activities and are involved in multiple cancer processes. In this article, we provide a systematic review on the role of exosomal miRNAs in H. pylori-associated GC.

BACKGROUND: Gastric cancer is heterogeneous cancer and the causes of this disease are complex. New diagnostic and therapeutic targets are urgently needed to explore. Huntingtin-associated protein 1 (HAP1) is directly related to Huntington's disease (HD). However, patients with Huntington's disease have a lower incidence of cancer. Therefore, we are committed to studying the correlation between HAP1 and gastric carcinogenesis and development. METHODS AND RESULTS: Immunohistochemical staining, western blot analysis, and RT-qPCR were conducted to explore the localization and expression of HAP1 in gastric cancer. To study the biological significance of HAP1, we overexpressed HAP1 in both MKN28 and AGS cell lines by lentivirus infection. To explore the role of HAP1 in cell proliferation, the cells counting assay, EdU incorporation assay, and colony formation assay were carried out. We performed the wound healing assay and transwell assay to study the cell migration and invasion. To further investigate whether HAP1 could regulate gastric cancer cell death during glucose deprivation, Annexin V-FITC/PI staining was performed. In our study, we elucidated that HAP1 was downregulated in gastric cancer. What's more, overexpressing HAP1 inhibited cell proliferation, cell migration and invasion, and triggered apoptosis during glucose deprivation. More importantly, the antitumor properties and mechanisms of HAP1 have been elucidated further in gastric cancer. CONCLUSIONS: Taken together, the available evidence implies that HAP1 may serve as a potential tumor suppressor, making it a significant target in preventing and treating gastric cancer. This research provides a theoretical basis for the early diagnosis, clinical targeted therapy, and prognosis evaluation of gastric cancer.

Many neuroimaging studies have reported that stroke induces abnormal brain activity. However, little is known about resting-state networks (RSNs) and the corresponding white matter changes in stroke patients with hemiplegia. Here, we utilized functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to measure neural activity and related fibre tracts in 14 ischaemic stroke patients with hemiplegia and 12 healthy controls. Fractional amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations (fALFF) calculation and correlation analyses were used to assess the relationship between regional neural activity and movement scores. Tractography was performed using diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) data to analyse the fibres passing through the regions of interest. Compared with controls, stroke patients showed abnormal functional connectivity (FC) between some brain regions in the RSNs. The fALFF was increased in the contralesional parietal lobe, with the regional fALFF being correlated with behavioural scores in stroke patients. Additionally, the passage of fibres across regions with reduced FC in the RSNs was increased in stroke patients. This study suggests that structural remodelling of functionally relevant white matter tracts is probably an adaptive response that compensates for injury to the brain.

OBJECTIVES: This study was aimed at evaluating the clinical and radiological outcomes of novel dynamic navigation (DN)-aided endodontic microsurgery (EMS), with an analysis of potential prognostic factors. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Forty-six teeth from 32 patients who received DN-aided EMS were included. Clinical and radiographic assessments were performed at least 1 year postoperatively. Two calibrated endodontists assessed radiological outcomes according to two-dimensional (2D) periapical radiography (PA) and three-dimensional (3D) cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) imaging using Rud's and Molven's criteria and modified PENN 3D criteria, respectively. Fisher's exact test was used for statistical analysis of the predisposing factors. RESULTS: Of the 32 patients with 46 treated teeth, 28 with 40 teeth were available for follow-up. Of the 28 patients, four (five teeth) refused to undergo CBCT and only underwent clinical and PA examinations, and the remaining 24 (35 teeth) underwent clinical, PA, and CBCT examinations. Combined clinical and radiographic data revealed a 95% (38/40) success rate in 2D healing evaluations and a 94.3% (33/35) success rate in 3D healing evaluations. No significant effect was found in sex, age, tooth type, arch type, preoperative lesion volume, preoperative maximum lesion size, presence/absence of crown and post, and the root canal filling state on the outcome of DN-aided EMS. CONCLUSIONS: DN-aided EMS has a favorable prognosis and could be considered an effective and reliable treatment strategy. Further investigations with larger sample sizes are required to confirm these results. CLINICAL RELEVANCE: DN-aided EMS could be considered an effective and reliable treatment strategy.

The VEGF receptor is mock-coupled with a known active compound and the active groups of the inhibitor which can bind to VEGF were analyzed. Using asiatic acid as a lead compound, 10 novel skeleton candidate compounds were designed through introduction of the active groups onto the special location and synthesized simultaneously. Furthermore, the structure of these compounds was determined by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and MS and 9 compounds were identified as the new compounds. Moreover, the in vitro anti-tumor activities of these new compounds were determined by MTT assay on two cancer cell lines (HepG2 and SGC-7901). The results showed that compounds I1 and II2 have more potent anticancer activity than positive control drugs such as gefitinib and paclitaxel.

Gastric cancer (GC) is a worldwide public health concern. We aimed to investigate the association between preoperative prognostic scoring system based on the combination of age, American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status (ASA-PS), and prognostic nutritional index (PNI) and long-term survival outcomes in patients with (GC). Data from 513 patients were analyzed using Cox proportional hazards regression models to evaluate the association between this prognostic score system and risks of all-cause mortality. This simple prognostic score system (0-3 points) was an independent predictor of long-term survival outcomes in patients with GC after radical gastrectomy based on multivariate analyses. Prognostic 1-point score, 2-point score, and 3-point score significantly increased 50% (95% CI, 14%-98%; P = 0.004), 75% (95% CI, 22%-151%; P = 0.003), and 116% (95% CI, 26%-271%; P = 0.005) hazards of 5-year all-cause mortality, respectively, compared to prognostic 0-point score. Five-year overall survival rates were significantly decreased as prognostic scores increased, (0 point, 57.3%; 1-point, 41.3%; 2-ponint, 36.6%; 3-point, 25.9%; P < 0.01; area under the curve [AUC] = 0.62). A prognostic scoring method based on combination of age, ASA-PS, and PNI may serve as an independent risk stratification metric for long-term survival in patients with GC.

The secondary prevention trials of Alzheimer's disease (AD) require an enrichment strategy to recruit individuals with imminent cognitive decline at the preclinical stage. Previously, we demonstrated a variant neural correlates of episodic memory (EM) function in apolipoprotein E (APOE) ε4 carriers. Herein, we investigated whether this variation was associated with longitudinal EM performance. This 3-year longitudinal study included 88 normal elderly subjects with EM assessment and resting-state functional MRI data at baseline; 48 subjects (27 ε3 homozygotes and 21 ε4 carriers) underwent follow-up EM assessment. In the identified EM neural correlates, multivariable regression models examined the association between hippocampal functional connectivity (HFC) and longitudinal EM change. Independent validation was performed using the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) dataset. At baseline, the EM neural correlates were characterized in the Papez circuit regions in the ε3 homozygotes, but in the sensorimotor cortex and cuneus in the ε4 carriers. Longitudinally, the ε4 carriers exhibited a negative association of the baseline HFC strength in the EM neural correlates with annual rate of EM change (R2 = 0.25, p = 0.05). This association also showed a trend in the ADNI dataset (R2 = 0.42, p = 0.06). These results indicate that hippocampal hyperconnectivity in the variant EM neural correlates is associated with imminent EM decline in ε4 carriers, which may serve as a promising enrichment strategy for secondary prevention trials of AD.

BACKGROUND: So far, little evidence is available for the comprehensive comparison of endoscopic submucosal tunnel dissection (ESTD) with endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for the treatment of superficial neoplasia at esophagogastric junction (EGJ). METHODS: EGJ superficial neoplasia patients with ESTD treatment between January, 2021 and August, 2020 were retrospectively reviewed and individually matched at 1:1 ratio with those with ESD treatment according to lesion size, specimen area and lesion location, forming ESTD and ESD group, respectively. A sample size of 17 patients was collected for each group. Treatment outcomes including resection time, specimen area, and resection speed as well as occurrence of complications were evaluated. RESULTS: Compared with ESD group, ESTD group got shorter resection time (111.00 ± 11.70 min for ESD group vs. 71.59 ± 6.18 min for ESTD group, p = 0.008) and faster section speed (0.23 ± 0.03 cm2/min for ESD group vs. 0.37 ± 0.06 cm2/min for ESTD group, p = 0.012). No complication was found to occur in ESTD group, while 1 patient with MP damage and 1 with delayed bleeding was found in ESD group. CONCLUSION: For the treatment of EGJ superficial neoplasia, ESTD is a safer and more effective and reliable endoscopic technique compared with ESD.

Childhood maltreatment (CM) is regarded as an important risk factor for major depressive disorder (MDD). However, the neural links corresponding to the process of early CM experience producing brain alterations and then leading to depression later remain unclear. To explore the neural basis of the effects of CM on MDD and the potential role of microRNA-9 (miR-9) in these processes, we recruited 40 unmedicated MDD patients and 34 healthy controls (HCs) to complete resting-state fMRI scans and peripheral blood miR-9 tests. The neural substrates of CM, miR-9, and depression, as well as their interactive effects on intrinsic amygdala functional connectivity (AFC) networks were investigated in MDD patients. Two-step mediation analysis was separately employed to explore whether AFC strength mediates the association among CM severity, miR-9 levels, and depression. A support vector classifier (SVC) model of machine learning was used to distinguish MDD patients from HCs. MDD patients showed higher miR-9 levels that were negatively correlated with CM scores and depressive severity. Overlapping effects of CM, miR-9, and depressive severity on bilateral AFC networks in MDD patients were primarily located in the prefrontal-striatum pathway and limbic system. The connection of amygdala to prefrontal-limbic circuits could mediate the effects of CM severity on the miR-9 levels, as well as the impacts of miR-9 levels on the severity of depression in MDD patients. Furthermore, the SVC model, which integrated miR-9 levels, CM severity, and AFC strength in prefrontal-limbic regions, had good power in differentiating MDD patients from HCs (accuracy 85.1%). MiR-9 may play a crucial role in the process of CM experience-produced brain changes targeting prefrontal-limbic regions and that subsequently leads to depression. The present neuroimaging-epigenetic results provide new insight into our understanding of MDD pathophysiology.

Semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) with photoluminescence (PL) emission at 900-1700 nm (denoted as the second near-infrared window, NIR-II) exhibit much-depressed photon absorption and scattering, which has stimulated extensive researches in biomedical imaging and NIR devices. However, it is very challenging to develop NIR-II QDs with a high photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) and excellent biocompatibility. Herein, we designed and synthesized an alloyed silver gold selenide (AgAuSe) QD with a bright emission from 820 to 1170 nm and achieved a record absolute PLQY of 65.3% at 978 nm emission among NIR-II QDs without a toxic element and a long lifetime of 4.58 µs. It is proved that the high PLQY and long lifetime are mainly attributed to the prevented nonradiative transition of excitons, probably resulted from suppressing cation vacancies and crystal defects from the high mobility of Ag ions by alloying Au atoms. These high-PLQY QDs with nontoxic heavy metal exhibit great application potential in bioimaging, light emitting diodes (LEDs), and photovoltaic devices.

Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) studies have revealed distinct white matter (WM) characteristics of the brain following diseases. Beyond the lesion-symptom maps, stroke is characterized by extensive structural and functional alterations of brain areas remote to local lesions. Here, we further investigated the structural changes over a global level by using DTI data of 10 ischemic stroke patients showing motor impairment due to basal ganglia lesions and 11 healthy controls. DTI data were processed to obtain fractional anisotropy (FA) maps, and multivariate pattern analysis was used to explore brain regions that play an important role in classification based on FA maps. The WM structural network was constructed by the deterministic fiber-tracking approach. In comparison with the controls, the stroke patients showed FA reductions in the perilesional basal ganglia, brainstem, and bilateral frontal lobes. Using network-based statistics, we found a significant reduction in the WM subnetwork in stroke patients. We identified the patterns of WM degeneration affecting brain areas remote to the lesions, revealing the abnormal organization of the structural network in stroke patients, which may be helpful in understanding of the neural mechanisms underlying hemiplegia.

Ag2 Se quantum dots (QDs) as an effective biological probe in the second near-infrared window (NIR-II, 1000-1700 nm) have been widely applied in bioimaging with high tissue penetration depth and high spatiotemporal resolution. However, the ions deficiency and crystal defects caused by the high Ag+ mobility in Ag2 Se crystals are mainly responsible for the inefficient photoluminescence (PL) of Ag2 Se QDs. Herein, a tailored route is reported to achieve controllable doping of Ag2 Se QDs in which Ag is exchanged by Pb via cation exchange (CE), which is unattainable by direct synthetic methods. The Pb-doped Ag2 Se QDs (denoted as Pb:Ag2 Se QDs) present fire-new optical features with significantly enhanced PL intensity of 4.2 folds. Photoelectron spectroscopy confirms that Pb acts as an n-type dopant for Ag2 Se QDs and therefore the electronic impurities provide additional carriers to fill the traps. Moreover, the general validity of this method is demonstrated to convert different sized Ag2 Se into Pb:Ag2 Se QDs, so that a wide range of NIR-II PL with high intensity is obtained. The bright NIR-II emission of Pb:Ag2 Se QDs is further successfully performed in lymphatic system mapping.

BACKGROUND: Endoscopic resection for large, laterally spreading tumors (LSTs) in the cecum is challenging. Here we report on the clinical outcomes of hybrid endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) in large cecal LSTs. METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed data from patients with cecal LSTs ≥ 2 cm who underwent ESD or hybrid ESD procedures between January of 2008 and June of 2019. We compared the baseline characteristics and clinical outcomes, including procedure time, the en bloc and complete resection rates, and adverse events. RESULTS: A total of 62 patients were enrolled in the study. There were 27 patients in the ESD group and 35 patients in the hybrid ESD group, respectively. Hybrid ESD was more used for lesions with submucosal fibrosis. No other significant differences were found in patient characteristics between the two groups. The hybrid ESD group had a significantly shorter procedure time compared with the ESD group (27.60 ± 17.21 vs. 52.63 ± 44.202 min, P = 0.001). The en bloc resection rate (77.1% vs. 81.5%, P = 0.677) and complete resection rate (71.4% vs. 81.5%, P = 0.359) of hybrid ESD were relatively lower than that of the ESD group in despite of no significant difference was found. The perforation and post-procedure bleeding rate (2.9% vs. 3.7%, P = 0.684) were similar between the two groups. One patient perforated during the ESD procedure, which was surgically treated. One patient in the hybrid ESD group experienced post-procedure bleeding, which was successfully treated with endoscopic hemostasis. Post-procedural fever and abdominal pain occurred in six patients in the ESD group and five patients in the hybrid ESD group. One patient in the ESD group experienced recurrence, which was endoscopically resected. CONCLUSION: The results of this study indicate that hybrid ESD may be an alternative resection strategy for large cecal LSTs with submucosal fibrosis.

BACKGROUND: Severe neurotoxicity after chimeric antigen receptor T cell (CAR-T) therapy can be a crucial lifethreatening event in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), and management of those toxicities is still a serious clinical challenge. The underlying mechanisms of CAR-T cell-mediated neurotoxicity remain poorly elucidated because very few studies examine the intact tumor microenvironment before CAR-T cell infusion. Herein, we pur-posed to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs) related to CAR-T cell-mediated neurotoxicity in the DLBCL microenvironment before CAR-T cell infusion and reveal their potential mechanisms. METHODS: The mRNA expression profile data of GSE153438 were obtained from the GEO database. The GSE153438 dataset includes 26 samples with non-severe neurotoxicity (grade 0 - 2) and 10 samples with severe neurotoxicity (grade 3 or higher). Gene ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) patway enrichment assessment was carried out. We screened the hub gene by protein-protein interaction (PPI) network analysis and Cytoscape software. Gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) was also analyzed with the GSEA software. Moreover, the predictive value of the hub gene for severe neurotoxicity was evaluated via receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. RESULTS: We identified a total of 25 up-regulated DEGs and 26 downregulated DEGs associated with CAR-T cell-mediated neurotoxicity in the DLBCL microenvironment before CAR-T cell infusion. Results of GO analysis showed that DEGs were mainly enriched in T cell activation, leukocyte cell-cell adhesion, and positive regulation of cell adhesion. The KEGG analysis revealed that DEGs were significantly enriched in T cell receptor signaling pathway, cell adhesion molecules, and Epstein-Barr virus infection. GSEA revealed that the glycolysis pathway was significantly associated with severe neurotoxicity. The top centrality hub gene GZMB was identified from the PPI network. ROC curve analysis showed that GZMB had a potential predictive value for severe neurotoxicity. CONCLUSIONS: In DLBCL microenvironment before CAR-T cell infusion, we identified T cell activation and glycolysis pathways significantly associated with CAR-T cell-mediated severe neurotoxicity. GZMB might be used as a predictive and therapeutic molecular marker for neurotoxicity. The study suggested that the tumor microenviron-ment before CAR-T cell infusion plays an essential role in the early prediction of neurotoxicity.

Photothermal therapy has attracted extensive attentions in cancer treatment due to its precise spatial-temporal controllability, minimal invasiveness, and negligible side effects. However, two major deficiencies, unsatisfactory heat conversion efficiency and limited tissue penetration depth, hugely impeded its clinical application. In this work, hollow carbon nanosphere modified with polyethylene glycol-graft-polyethylenimine (HPP) was elaborately synthesized. The synthesized HPP owns outstanding physical properties as a photothermal agent, such as uniform core-shell structure, good biocompatibility and excellent heat conversion efficiency. Upon NIR-II laser irradiation, the intracellular HPP shows excellent photothermal activity towards cancer cell killing. In addition, depending on the large internal cavity of HPP, the extended biomedical application as drug carrier was also demonstrated. In general, the synthesized HPP holds a great potential in NIR-II laser-activated cancer photothermal therapy.
