RESUMO

The National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China has formulated the Quality Control Indexes for Oncology (2023 edition), with the objective of improving medical quality scientifically, refined and standardized. Among these indexes, the rate of pretreatment clinical TNM staging and the coincidence rate of evaluation of pretreatment TNM staging lay national standards for patients to formulate rational and targeted treatment strategies. This article reviewed the literature and referred to Chinese Medical Association Clinical Practice Guide for Breast Surgery, and presented recommendations for the hot topics of breast surgery, such as pathological sampling of the breast specimen, sentinel lymph node biopsy for early-stage breast cancer, breast conserving surgery, axillary lymph node dissection, breast reconstruction surgery, endoscopic-assisted breast surgery, the principles of surgical treatment for metastatic breast cancer, neoadjuvant treatment for advanced disease, and surgical grade of breast surgery, which have been widely concerned in recent years, to help improve homogenization of breast cancer treatment in China.

RESUMO

Objective: To investigate the clinicopathologic features of synchronous bilateral breast cancer (SBBC) and prognostic factors. Methods: The clinicopathologic features of patients with SBBC treated in Peking University First Hospital from January 2008 to March 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. Results: Of all 4 111 patients diagnosed with breast cancer, 57(1.4%) cases were diagnosed with SBBC.Forty-three (75.4%) patients were treated with bilateral mastectomy. The median follow-up time was 58 months. The 5-year disease-free survival of SBBC was 80.7% and 5-year overall survival was 84.1%. The N stage and HER2 status of second primary breast cancer were associated with prognosis by univariated analysis (Z=5.866 and 4.231, both P<0.05). Conclusion: Majority of patients with SBBC were treated with bilateral mastectomy. While therapeutic strategy of SBBC should take both tumor burden and biomarker status of bilateral breast cancer into consideration.

RESUMO

Objective: To study serum zinc level in pregnancy and umbilical cord blood and their association with newborn birth weight. Methods: Pregnant women accepting obstetric examination in Ma'anshan Maternal and Child Care Center were recruited from May 2013 to September 2014. The follow up was conducted during their first, second and third trimesters of pregnancy and the self-designed questionnaire was used to collect information of social and demographic characteristics. Blood samples in the first, second pregnancy period and umbilical cord blood samples were collected and serum concentrations of zinc were assayed. 3 239 mother-infant entered the final analysis. We divided serum zinc level into low (P(75)) groups according to their exposure concentrations at each trimesters. Non-conditional multivariate logistic regression model was conducted to evaluate the association between serum zinc level in first, second trimesters of pregnancy and umbilical cord blood with small for gestational age (SGA) and large for gestational age (LGA). Results: Serum zinc level in P(50) (P(25)-P(75)) during the first, second trimesters and cord blood were 1 016.18 (907.09-1 145.60), 813.36 (732.47-897.89) and 903.44 (808.71-1 015.64) µg/L, respectively. The prevalence of zinc deficiency during the first, second trimesters and cord blood were 1.5% (44/2 957), 15.9% (492/3 087) and 6.5% (176/2 707), respectively. The prevalence of total SGA and LGA were 9.7% (313/3 239) and 16.5% (536/3 239), respectively. Compared to high-level serum zinc group, the risk of SGA (OR (95%CI) in low-level serum zinc group during first trimesters was 1.51 (1.05-2.19)). Serum zinc level among second pregnancy period and umbilical cord blood had no statistically significant effect on SGA and LGA (both P values >0.05). Conclusion: Zinc nutritional status of pregnant women in Ma'anshan city was at a good level. The low serum zinc level in first trimester increased the risk of SGA.

RESUMO

Objective: To study the clinicopathological characteristics and the prognostic determinants of the invasive lobular carcinoma breast cancer. Methods: This was a retrospective single-center study of invasive lobular breast cancer cases diagnosed from January 2008 to December 2014 at Peking University First Hospital Breast Disease Center. The study enrolled 68 invasive lobular breast cancer patients, which represented 3.64% (68/1 870) of total invasive breast cancer. The median age of all selected patients was 46 years ranging from 36 to 83 years. All patients were restaged based on the 8(th) edition of AJCC cancer staging system and follow-up data including disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) were analyzed to explore the prognostic determinants. The 5-year OS and DFS were calculated using Kaplan-Meier method; the significance of correlations between clinicopathological features and prognostic factors was estimated using log-rank test. Results: There were significant differences in OS between patients with different anatomic stage, prognostic stage, lymph node metastasis, progesterone receptor (PR) expression, lymphvascular invasion and perineural invasion (χ(2:) 4.318 to 32.394, all P<0.05); significant differences in DFS were also observed between patients with different anatomic stage, prognostic stage, lymph node metastasis, PR expression, human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 expression, Ki-67 level, histological grade and lymphvascular invasion (χ(2:) 4.347 to 27.369, all P<0.05). Prognostic stages of 52.9% patients changed compared with anatomic stage, among which Luminal subtype mainly downstaged (22/30), however, triple negative subtype mainly upstaged (6/6). Conclusions: Anatomic stage, prognostic stage, lymph node metastasis, PR expression, lymphvascular invasion are the prognostic factors of invasive lobular breast cancer. Regard to invasive lobular breast cancer patients, clinicians should pay close attention to the differences between prognostic stage and anatomic stage.

RESUMO

In this article, yeast two-hybrid system (YTHS) and bimolecular fluorescence complementation (BiFC) were used to analyze the interactions of cucurbit aphid-borne yellows virus (CABYV)-encoded proteins. P0, P1, P1-2, P3, P4, and P5 were tested by YTHS in all possible pairwise combinations, and only P3/P3 interaction was detected. Results obtained by BiFC further confirmed the self-interaction of P3, and the subcellular localization of reconstituted YFP fluorescence was observed mainly in nuclei of Nicotiana benthamiana leaf epidermal cells. Domains involved in P3/P3 self-interaction were analyzed by YTHS and BiFC using deletion mutants. The results showed that R domain (residues 1-61) in the N-terminus could self-interact, and it also interacted with the S domain (residues 62-199) in the C-terminus of P3. The present work would serve as a molecular basis for further characterization of CABYV proteins, and the regions involved in P3/P3 self-interaction could provide the clue for understanding the capsid assembly pathway of CABYV.

RESUMO

Objective: To investigate the relationship of thallium exposure and outcomes of births. Methods: A total of 3 236 mothers who had visited in Ma'anshan Maternal and Child Health-Care Hospital between May 2013 and September 2014 were included in this study and their thallium concentrations measured from samples of maternal and umbilical cord blood by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. The results were correlated and evaluated with birth outcomes of the infants, using the multiple linear regression method. Results: The median (P(25)-P(75)) of thallium levels in first trimester, second trimester and umbilical cord blood were 61.7 (50.8-77.0), 60.3 (50.8-75.2) and 38.5 (33.6-44.1) ng/L, respectively. After adjustment for potential confounders, the thallium levels showed an inversely significant association with birth head circumference (unstandardized ß coefficient=-0.41, 95%CI: -0.76- -0.06) in the first trimester blood, and associated with reduced birth length (unstandardized ß coefficient=-0.65, 95%CI: -1.25- -0.05) in umbilical cord blood. However, there appeared no significantly associations with birth weight, length and head circumference (P>0.05) in second trimester. On stratification by sex, in girls but not in boys, the thallium levels were adversely associated with birth head circumference (unstandardized ß coefficient=-0.53, 95%CI: -1.05--0.01) in the first trimester and were associated with decreased birth weight (unstandardized ß coefficient=-277.08, 95%CI: -485.13- -69.03) and length (unstandardized ß coefficient=-1.39, 95%CI: -2.26- -0.53) in umbilical cord blood thallium. Conclusions: Thallium exposure appeared a gender difference in newborn birth outcomes. In the first trimester, it was negatively associated with the birth head circumference, in the umbilical cord blood, and reduced birth weight and length in girls.

RESUMO

The resonance light scattering (RLS) spectra of Rosaniline with DNA have been studied. The RLS of Rosaniline is greatly enhanced by DNA in pH range of 10.5-10.8. There is a resonance light scattering peak ofat 485 nm, and the enhanced intensity of RLS at this wavelength is proportional to the concentration of DNA. The linear range of the calibration graph is 0-1.00 mg.L-1 with the correlation coefficient of 0.9980. The detection limit is 14.2 ng.mL-1. The relative standard deviation(n = 10) was within 2.1%. This method is simple, rapid and has been applied to the determination of DNA in mixed samples with satisfactory results.

RESUMO

The method is based on the enhancement effect of the resonance light scattering (RLS) due to the long range assembly of neutral red (NR) on the molecular surface of DNA. The RLS of NR is greatly enhanced by DNA in the pH range of 5.0-7.0. The enhanced intensity of RLS at 335.0 nm is proportional to the concentration of DNA in the range 0-600 ng.mL-1. The detection limit is 12.8 ng.mL-1. This method is simple, rapid and has been applied to the determination of DNA in mixed samples with satisfactory results.
