RESUMO

We have performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of the association between DDT/DDE and diabetes, searching PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane for relevant articles published up to August 30, 2021, and eventually including 43 publications. Our researchers evaluate included studies' quality and risk of bias via the recommended tool. This study uses meta-analyses of random effects of each exposure and outcome to estimate combined odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Our research identified 43 cross-sectional, case-control, and cohort studies, including 40,141 individuals in America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. The summary ORs (95% CIs) of incident diabetes were 1.61 (1.10-2.39) for DDT, 1.67 (1.41-1.98) for DDE. The subgroup analysis indicated that the association is significantly higher in the region of Asia for both DDT (OR = 2.73) and DDE (OR = 2.62). Besides, we also tried various types of stratification to identify the more influential confounding factors, among which regional factors have a significant influence. Study evidence suggests that exposure to DDT and its breakdown product, DDE, might be associated with the risk of incident diabetes. Among Asian patients, DDT/DDE concentrations are more closely associated with diabetes. Further studies in specific regions will be considered in the future.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The calcification of the tooth pulp is a pathological condition that occurs in response to various factors. A uncommon haematological condition known as paroxysmal nocturnal haemoglobinuria (PNH) is characterized by bouts of haemolysis, and it requires long-term use of glucocorticoids (GCs). CASE PRESENTATION: A female patient who was diagnosed with PNH and had a history of long-term use of GCs came to our department for root canal therapy (RCT) for teeth 25, 26, and 27. The radiographs showed generalized pulp canal obliteration (PCO) in most of the patients. None of these teeth (25, 26, or 27) were sensitive to percussion, and they did not respond to thermal or electrical sensitivity tests. A diagnose of pulp necrosis was made for these teeth. RCT was carried out with the help of an oral microscope, and then a prosthodontic procedure was created for the teeth. CONCLUSIONS: Based on the patient's long history use of GCs and a series of related studies, we conclude that the long-term usage of GCs contributes significantly to the onset of PCO.

RESUMO

Lipopolysaccharide (LPS), which can cause acute airway inflammatory reactions, constitutes one of the most common substances to establish acute lung injury (ALI) models in mice. Studies suggest that calcium gluconate offers the possibility of suppressing the immune response, and this study was intended to explore the effects of calcium gluconate on LPS-induced ALI in mice. Mice inhaled with LPS were intraperitoneally injected with calcium gluconate (12.5, 25, 50 mg/kg). IL-1ß, IL-6 and TNF-α levels in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) were determined by ELISA. The expression of signaling proteins, phosphorylation extracellular regulated protein kinases (p-ERK), was detected using Western Blot in lung tissues. In our study, the release of inflammatory cytokines IL-1ß, IL-6 and TNF-α in BALF increased after inhalation of LPS. Post-treatment with calcium gluconate inhibited LPS-induced airway inflammatory injury and the release of inflammatory cytokines. In addition, LPS promoted the expression of signaling protein p-ERK while calcium gluconate was capable of reversing this change. Overall, calcium gluconate inhibits LPS-induced ALI in mice, which may take effects through the inhibition of ERK phosphorylation.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The optimal range of sodium intake for cardiovascular health is controversial. METHODS: We obtained morning fasting urine samples from 101,945 persons in 17 countries and estimated 24-hour sodium and potassium excretion (used as a surrogate for intake). We examined the association between estimated urinary sodium and potassium excretion and the composite outcome of death and major cardiovascular events. RESULTS: The mean estimated sodium and potassium excretion was 4.93 g per day and 2.12 g per day, respectively. With a mean follow-up of 3.7 years, the composite outcome occurred in 3317 participants (3.3%). As compared with an estimated sodium excretion of 4.00 to 5.99 g per day (reference range), a higher estimated sodium excretion (≥ 7.00 g per day) was associated with an increased risk of the composite outcome (odds ratio, 1.15; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.02 to 1.30), as well as increased risks of death and major cardiovascular events considered separately. The association between a high estimated sodium excretion and the composite outcome was strongest among participants with hypertension (P=0.02 for interaction), with an increased risk at an estimated sodium excretion of 6.00 g or more per day. As compared with the reference range, an estimated sodium excretion that was below 3.00 g per day was also associated with an increased risk of the composite outcome (odds ratio, 1.27; 95% CI, 1.12 to 1.44). As compared with an estimated potassium excretion that was less than 1.50 g per day, higher potassium excretion was associated with a reduced risk of the composite outcome. CONCLUSIONS: In this study in which sodium intake was estimated on the basis of measured urinary excretion, an estimated sodium intake between 3 g per day and 6 g per day was associated with a lower risk of death and cardiovascular events than was either a higher or lower estimated level of intake. As compared with an estimated potassium excretion that was less than 1.50 g per day, higher potassium excretion was associated with a lower risk of death and cardiovascular events. RESUMO

Here, we report the synthesis, structure, and single-molecule conductance of three o-carborane-based molecular wires (ortho-, meta- and para-CN) with multiple conduction channels. The effect of connectivity in target wires compared with the corresponding phenyl-centered wires was studied using the scanning tunneling microscope break junction (STM-BJ) technique and theoretical calculations. Interestingly, the three-dimensional structure in o-carborane-based wires can effectively promote the through-space transmission paths or the formation of stable molecular junctions compared to the corresponding phenyl-centered wires. Moreover, the significant conductance difference of o-carborane-based wires was due to the combination of multiple conduction channels and quantum interference. Understanding the effects of different bridging groups and anchor group substitution patterns provides guidelines for designing o-carborane-based multichannel molecular wires.

RESUMO

PTEN/PI3K/AKT signaling pathway is an important pathway for cell proliferation and apoptosis. Exposure to excess manganese (Mn) can cause damage in organisms. However, whether Mn toxicity can cause apoptosis is still not clear. In order to explore the mechanism of PTEN/PI3K/AKT signaling pathway responsible for Mn-induced apoptotic injury, 160 Hyline cocks were divided into four groups; there were the control group (Con group), the low-dose Mn group (L group), the medium-dose Mn group (M group), and the high-dose Mn group (H group). The cocks in Con group, L group, M group, and H group were fed with MnCl2 diet containing 100, 600, 900, and 1800 mg/kg, respectively. The growth status of cocks in each group was observed on days 30, 60, and 90. Thirty cocks were randomly selected from each group and sacrificed on day 90 for optical microscope observation and fluorescence microscopic observation, as well as for transcription-level expression of apoptosis-related genes and heat shock proteins (HSPs) in the liver. The results showed that the growth status of cocks was gradually depressed with the extension of feeding time and with the increase of Mn dose. On day 90, the results of optical microscope observation and fluorescence microscope observation showed that damage and apoptosis appeared in the cock liver cells under Mn exposure groups. The results of transcription-level detection of apoptosis-related genes and HSPs indicated that Mn exposure upregulated eleven pro-apoptotic genes (including RIP1, RIP3, MLKL, Bax, Caspase-3, FADD, Cyt-C, ERK, JNK, Caspase-8, and P38) and downregulated one anti-apoptotic gene Bcl-2, further meaning that exposure to Mn-induced apoptosis in cock liver cells and PTEN/PI3K/AKT signaling pathway took part in molecular mechanism of apoptosis caused by excess Mn. Moreover, in our experiment, the increase of four HSPs (including HSP27, HSP40, HSP60, and HSP70) was found after Mn treatment for 90 days, which indicated that Mn stress triggered HSPs and HSPs were involved in molecular mechanism of Mn poisoning in cock livers. In addition, we also found there was upregulated dose-dependent manner in fifteen detected genes and there was downregulated dose-dependent manner in Bcl-2, indicating that the apoptosis caused by Mn poisoning in cock liver cells was dose-dependent.

RESUMO

Enrofloxacin (EFX) reacting with Ca(II) afforded a new complex, [Ca(EFX)2(H2O)4] (EFX-Ca), which was structurally characterized both in solid and solution chemistry. E. coli and S. typhi were tested to be the most sensitive strains for EFX-Ca. The LD50 value of EFX-Ca in mice was 7736 mg/kg, implying the coordination of EFX to Ca(II) effectively reduced its acute toxicity. EFX-Ca also decreased the plasma-binding rate and enhanced the drug distribution in rats along with longer elimination half-life. EFX-Ca also showed similar low in vivo acute toxicity and higher anti-inflammation induced by H2O2 or CuSO4 in zebrafish, with reactive oxygen species (ROS)-related elimination. The therapeutic effects of EFX-Ca on two types (AA and 817) of E. coli-infected broilers were also better than those of EFX, with cure rates of 78% and 88%, respectively. EFX-Ca showed promise as a bio-safe metal-based veterinary drug with good efficacy and lower toxicity.

RESUMO

Blackcurrant oil soft capsule (BOSC) is an effective and safe herbal medicine for the treatment of hyperlipidemia and has been approved for the market in China. No studies have been performed, however, to confirm whether BOSC is effective in reducing the serum lipid level in a large-scale ordinary or special patient population. In this study, we conducted an observational study at five investigative sites that was designed to further investigate the efficacy of BOSC on serum lipid level lowering in a large-scale target patient population and include a relative factors analysis for the serum lipid decrease. Serum total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TGs) and high density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C) were measured before and after drug administration. TC and TGs were detected by enzymatic analysis, while HDL-C was detected by PTA-Mg(2+) precipitation. A total of 2,154 dyslipidemic patients were recruited and took BOSC 1.8 g b.i.d. every day for 6 weeks. In terms of serum lipid lowering, the overall curative rate was 37.19%, the marked effective rate was 52.28% and the effective rate was 79.06%. The corresponding effective rate of TC, TGs and HDL-C was 80.98%, 78.28% and 67.07%, respectively. Multivariate analyses with adjustment for centers, gender and age indicated that BOSC was almost ineffective in patients with a disease course <36 months (OR: 0.467, 95% CI: 0.359-0.607) and was effective in mild hyperlipidemia (OR: 3.176, 2.535-3.978) and in subjects with lower BMIs (BMI <24: 3.472, 2.171-5.552; BMI between 24 and 28: 2.310, 1.832-2.911 compared with BMI >or= 28). No serious adverse events were reported during the study period. Therefore, we conclude that BOSC is effective in decreasing TC and TG levels and in increasing the serum HDL-C level, especially in mildly hyperlipidemic patients and those with a lower BMI. Moreover, because it is a natural raw material, BOSC may be safer and more effective in the treatment of hyperlipidemia.

RESUMO

More or less principal components often give an over-fit or under-fit quantitative calibration model. In order to avoid over-fit or under-fit in spectra calibration, a principal components selection method based on a modified randomization test is proposed. Three near infrared spectra experiments (the complexity of the sample components in each experiment is increasing by degrees) are introduced in this paper for evaluating the proposed method. The method is compared with the cross-validation method. And the spectra model complexity of how to affect the prediction performance of calibration is discussed. Then the adaptability of this modified randomization test to the uncertainty complex spectra model is also discussed. The results indicate that the proposed method has no process of leaving some samples out like cross-validation does, and all the training samples are considered when selecting principal components, so the problem of over-fit or under-fit can be avoided, which is benefit to improve prediction performance of calibration in spectral analysis. And the modified randomization test method is different with the commonly used randomization test that a simplified criterion is introduced here and it is easy to implement. With the proposed method, the authors can have a visualized and interactive process when selecting principal components. For these three experiments, 4, 5 and 8 selected principal components are employed in calibration respectively and the prediction result is the best for the independent external prediction sets. It is also implied that the proposed method is adaptable to the complex samples with more variables and little samples.

RESUMO

In the study of non-invasive measurement of human blood glucose concentration with near-infrared spectroscopy, the partial robust M-regression (PRM) is proposed in the present paper to solve the robustness of calibration model affected by outliers existing in the spectra data set. While keeping the good properties of M-estimators if an appropriate weighting scheme is chosen, PRM inherits the speed of computation and easy realization of the iterative reweighted partial least squares (IRPLS) algorithm, but is robust to all types of outliers. With the pretreatment of spectra based on PRM, the root mean square error of prediction (RMSEP) of calibration model was presented and compared with partial least squares (PLS). Experimental results show that the robust calibration model PRM produces better prediction of glucose than the model of PLS when the components of the samples increase which is significant for non-invasive prediction of blood glucose levels.

RESUMO

Enrofloxacin (EFX) was selected as the medicinal ligand to afford a new copper(ii)-based complex, EFX-Cu, which was structurally characterized by spectroscopic analyses including X-ray single crystal diffraction. It was also stable and could retain the coordination state in aqueous solution. The in vitro antibacterial activity of EFX-Cu against a panel of pathogenic bacteria was about the same as that of EFX, except that it was twice as active against E. coli. The in vivo test on mice gave a LD50 value of 8148 mg kg-1 for EFX-Cu, which was much lower than those for EFX (LD50, 5312 mg kg-1) and its clinically used sodium salt, EFX-Na (LD50, 1421 mg kg-1). In addition, no obvious lesions in the organs of the dead mice were found by histopathological examination. Pharmacokinetic studies on rats suggested similar pharmacokinetics between EFX-Cu and EFX. On the other hand, EFX-Cu showed higher acute toxicity than EFX-Na in zebrafish, which was inconsistent with that in mice. The ROS-related inflammation and anti-inflammatory assay of EFX-Cu, respectively, in normal cells and zebrafish could be ascribed to its ROS-related redox property. Unfortunately, the final in vivo therapeutic assay in the E. coli-infected mouse model indicated that the therapeutic effect of EFX-Cu, mainly in terms of mortality in mice, was found to be lower than that of EFX-Na at the same dosage (800 mg kg-1, continuous gavage), although the contradictory factors between toxicity and antibacterial activity could not be excluded in this trial.

RESUMO

CD47 serves as a ligand for signaling regulatory protein α (SIRPα) and as a receptor for thrombospondin-1 (TSP-1). Although CD47, TSP-1, and SIRPα are thought to be involved in the clearance of aged red blood cells (RBCs), aging-associated changes in the expression and interaction of these molecules on RBCs have been elusive. Using direct stochastic optical reconstruction microscopy (dSTORM)-based imaging and quantitative analysis, we can report that CD47 molecules on young RBCs reside as nanoclusters with little binding to TSP-1, suggesting a minimal role for TSP-1/CD47 signaling in normal RBCs. On aged RBCs, CD47 molecules decreased in number but formed bigger and denser clusters, with increased ability to bind TSP-1. Exposure of aged RBCs to TSP-1 resulted in a further increase in the size of CD47 clusters via a lipid raft-dependent mechanism. Furthermore, CD47 cluster formation was dramatically inhibited on thbs1-/- mouse RBCs and associated with a significantly prolonged RBC lifespan. These results indicate that the strength of CD47 binding to its ligand TSP-1 is predominantly determined by the distribution pattern and not the amount of CD47 molecules on RBCs, and offer direct evidence for the role of TSP-1 in phagocytosis of aged RBCs. This study provides clear nanoscale pictures of aging-associated changes in CD47 distribution and TSP-1/CD47 interaction on the cell surface, and insights into the molecular basis for how these molecules coordinate to remove aged RBCs.

RESUMO

Objective:To observe the clinical and pathological features of choroidal malignant melanoma (CM).Methods:A retrospective case study. From 2011 to 2021, paraffin specimens from 15 eyes of 15 CM patients diagnosed by pathological examination in the Department of Pathology, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University were included in the study. The age, gender, clinical manifestations, treatment plan and pathological examination results of patients were collected retrospectively through the hospital information system. The clinical characteristics, immunohistochemical staining and molecular pathological characteristics were analyzed. Results:Among the 15 cases, 8 males and 7 females. The average age was 61. All patients were monocular paroxysm. There were 8 cases of decreased vision, blurred vision and dark shadow in front of the eyes; 1 case had red eye, lacrimation and purulent secretion; 2 cases had visual loss and no light perception; 4 cases had retinal detachment. The average diameter of the tumors was 1.4 cm. The general appearance of the tumor was hemispherical, "mushroom-shaped" or flat diffuse. Most of the tumor cells were arranged in solid, flaky and cross clusters, and some of them were arranged in false "chrysanthemum form" around the blood vessels with necrosis. In 15 eyes, spindle-cell type, epithelioid type and mixed cell type were 6, 2 and 7 eyes, respectively. The cytoplasm was partly double stained or eosinophilic, partly clear, and partly rich in pigment. The cells had poor adhesion, marked atypia, rough chromatin, frequent mitotic figures, and prominent nucleoli. Immunohistochemical staining was positive for HMB45, SOX10, S100 and Melan-A in 15 patients, but negative for epithelial markers AE1/3, lymphatic markers LCA, neuroendocrine markers CgA and Syn. Genetic testing results showed that none of the patients found C-KIT, BRAF, NRAS gene mutations. Fifteen patients were followed up for 8-96 months, of which 12 survived and 3 died after recurrence and/or metastasis. Conclusion:CM has no specific clinical clinical manifestations, and he diagnosis depends on histological morphology and immunohistochemical staining.

RESUMO

Objective:To explore the mediating effect of attentional bias of negative information between fatalism and death anxiety in lung neoplasms patients. Methods:This study was a cross-sectional study. It was convenient to select 312 lung neoplasms patients treated in the Department of Oncology, First Affiliated Hospital and Second Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Military Medical University the Chinese People′s Liberation Army, from April 2021 to April 2022 as the research subjects. Questionnaires were conducted with Fatalism Scale, Attention to Negative Information Scale, and Templer′s Death Anxiety Scale. Structural equation model were constructed based on self-regulatory executive function models. Results:The total score of fatalism, attentional bias of negative information, and death anxiety of 312 lung neoplasms patients were (61.68 ± 11.92) points, (39.57 ± 5.19) points, and (61.23 ± 9.30) points, respectively. Attentional bias of negative information was significantly positively correlated with fatalism ( r = 0.594, P<0.01). Death anxiety was significantly positively correlated with fatalism and attentional bias of negative information ( r = 0.494, 0.558, both P<0.01). Attentional bias of negative information played a partial mediating role between fatalism and death anxiety, and the mediating effect accounted for 37.7% of the total effect. The value of each fitness index of the mediation effect model was within the acceptable range. Conclusions:Attentional bias of negative information is an intermediary variable between fatalism and death anxiety of lung neoplasms patients. Nursing staff should pay attention to the level of attentional bias of negative information of lung neoplasms patients and carry out targeted nursing interventions from the emotional processing process to reduce the level of death anxiety in patients with lung neoplasms.

RESUMO

It is generally believed that high-quality Bupleurum scorzonerifolium roots possess specific morphological characteristics, being red, robust, and long with strong odor. However, the scientific connotation of these characteristics has not been elucidated. According to the theory of "quality evaluation through morphological identification", we studied the correlations between appearance traits(the RGB value of root surface, root length, root diameter, dry weight, and ratio of phloem to xylem) and content of main chemical components(volatile oils, total saponins, total flavonoids, total polysaccharides, and seven saikosaponins) of B. scorzonerifolium roots. Epson Scanner and ImageJ were used to scan the root samples and measure the appearance traits. Ultraviolet spectrophotometry and HPLC were employed to determine the content of chemical components. The correlation, regression, and cluster analyses were performed to study the correlations between the appearance traits and the content of chemical components. The results showed that the content of volatile oils and saikosaponins were significantly correlated with RGB value, root length, and root diameter, indicating that within a certain range, the roots being redder, longer, and thicker had higher content of volatile oils and saikosaponins. According to the appearance traits and chemical component content, the 14 samples from different producing areas were classified into four grades, and the differences in morphological traits and chemical component content were consistent among different grades. The findings in this study demonstrate that appearance traits(RGB value, root length, and root diameter) can be used to evaluate the quality of B. scorzonerifolium roots. Meanwhile, this study lays a foundation for establishing an objective quality evaluation method for B. scorzonerifolium roots.

RESUMO

Objective:To explore the relevance of family resilience, fatalism, and self-management of lung neoplasms patients undergoing chemotherapy, and the mediating effect of fatalism in family resilience and self-management.Methods:The study was a cross-sectional study, and it was convenient to select 376 lung cancer patients who underwent chemotherapy in the Oncology Department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Military Medical University from August 2020 to August 2021 as the research subjects. A questionnaire survey was conducted on the patients by using general information questionnaire, Chinese Family Resilience Assessment Scale, Chinese Version of Fatalism Scale, and Cancer Patient Self-management Assessment Scale to establish and test the mediating model of fatalism between family resilience and self-management in lung neoplasms patients undergoing chemotherapy. Results:The total score of family resilience of lung neoplasms patients undergoing chemotherapy was (102.01 ± 33.29) points, the total score of fatalism was (63.99 ± 9.41) points, and the total score of self-management was (87.95 ± 27.65) points. Family resilience was negatively correlated with fatalism ( r=-0.418, P<0.01), positively correlated with self-management ( r=0.476, P<0.01), and fatalism was negatively correlated with self-management ( r=-0.557, P<0.01). Fatalism played a partial mediating role between family resilience and self-management, and the mediating effect accounted for 26.2% of the total effect. The value of each fitness index of the mediation effect model was within the acceptable range Conclusions:Family resilience, fatalism and self-management of lung neoplasms patients undergoing chemotherapy are closely related. Family resilience can not only directly affect self-management, but also indirectly affect self-management through fatalism. In clinical nursing, targeted intervention can be carried out on fatalism, which affects the role of family resilience on self-management, thereby promoting the improvement of self-management level of lung neoplasms patients undergoing chemotherapy.

RESUMO

The function of the donor foot has been affected after using big toe wrap-around flap for thumb reconstruction. A modified operation method has been developed to reduce the adverse effect on the donor foot. The current study compared the long-term effect of the classic and the modified operation methods on the donor foot. Gait analysis was carried out, including how the patient walked, the walking speed and walking distance, and how the patient jumped and ran. Plantar pressure was measured while the patient was standing and moving. A total of 45 patients who received the 2 different operation methods were included. The follow-up time was 4-10 years with a mean of 6.5 years. Various degrees of complications occurred for the 21 patients who received the classic operation method. For these patients, plantar pressure of the donor foot was obviously different comparing with the healthy unaffected foot while the patient was standing or walking. For the 24 patients who received the modified operation method, no obvious complications were observed and the plantar pressure of the donor foot and the healthy unaffected foot was similar while the patient was standing or walking. In conclusion, both the classic and the modified operation methods have affected the function of the donor foot after using the big toe wrap-around flap for thumb reconstruction. However, the donor foot was less affected when the modified operation method was used.

RESUMO

Objective:To study the clinical effect of alpha hydroxy acids on facial acne patients. Methods:A total of 36 patients with facial acne who were treated at the Department of Dermatology, Beijing Friendship Hospital from December 1, 2018 to May 31, 2019 were selected. All patients were treated with 20% alpha hydroxy acids. Treatment efficiency, lesions improvement and patients'satisfaction were evaluated. Results:All evaluation indexes were improved after treatment. Before treatment, patients with acne were classified into grade Ⅰ(9 cases), grade Ⅱ(18 cases ), and grade Ⅲ (9 cases) through Pillsbury Grading, and after treatment, there were 28 cases of grade Ⅰ, 28 cases of grade Ⅱ, and 0 cases of grade Ⅲ, which had statistic differences ( χ2= 22.603, P<0.001). The number of lesions before treatment was 38.64±15.57, and that was 16.17±11.49 after treatment, and the difference was statistically significant ( t=6.967, P<0.001). After treatment, 2 cases were cured, 17 cases were markedly effective, 11 cases were effective, 2 cases were ineffective and 4 cases were worsening. 30 patients were cured, markedly effective or effective, and the total effective rate was 83.33%. The value of skin pores before treatment was 1263.67±593.44, and decreased to 1196.33±579.27 after treatment. The difference was statistically significant ( t=3.155, P<0.05). After the treatment, all the patients were satisfied with the effect. Conclusions:Alpha hydroxy acid is a safe and effective method for acne patients.

RESUMO

With the development of society, more and more foreign natural medicines have entered China, but they are faced with the problem that they are not given with the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) properties when they are used with other TCM. When we carried out the research on introducing foreign natural plant resources to TCM, gradually, a new research model and field with original characteristics of TCM--the study of new foreign introducing TCM had been formed. In the process of it, we explored and summarized research rules to form the research paradigm, which will be conducive to the standardization and scientization of new foreign introducing TCM research. For the research of foreign introducing TCM, we analyzed the research background, reviewed the application history, sorted out the research status, elaborated the concept and summarized the research achievements. On this basis, we put forward the concept and system of the modern research paradigm of new foreign introducing TCM, studied and clarified the core elements, properties and research principles of this paradigm, and summarized the research contents and methods of new foreign introducing TCM. We interpreted the foundation of paradigm construction from multiple perspectives. The paradigm was the practical application of theoretical innovation of TCM. Under the guidance of it, more and more varieties of new foreign introducing TCM will be studied, the study will be more standardized, the conclusions will be more scientific and reliable, which will inspire and guide more researchers to focus on the research of new foreign introducing TCM, and the paradigm itself will be constantly improved. The construction and application of the paradigm will certainly accelerate the innovative research of foreign introducing TCM and play a historic role in promoting the enrichment of traditional Chinese medicine varieties.
