RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Mesiodens usually lead to the malposition and abnormal morphology of maxillary central incisors. AIM: To evaluate the detrimental effects of single unilaterally impacted mesiodens on the three-dimensional positions and morphology of the maxillary central incisor using cone-beam computed tomographic (CBCT) examinations. DESIGN: A total of 321 patients aged 5-17 years with single unilaterally impacted mesiodens were included and divided into two groups: mixed dentition group (5-10 years) and early permanent dentition group (11-17 years). CBCT data for these patients were retrospectively analyzed to compare the inclination, rotation, angulation, and morphology of maxillary central incisors between the affected and contralateral control sides. The morphology, orientation, and spatial location of mesiodens were also assessed. RESULTS: Central incisors on the affected side showed significant palatal crown inclination, shorter root, shorter tooth, and greater crown-to-root ratio in both groups, whereas significant mesial crown angulation was only observed in the mixed dentition group. CONCLUSION: Impacted mesiodentes result in the displacement and impaired root development of central incisors, strongly suggesting timely clinical management of these abnormal teeth, such as the early removal of mesiodens and orthodontic treatments.

RESUMO

Rating prediction is crucial in recommender systems as it enables personalized recommendations based on different models and techniques, making it of significant theoretical importance and practical value. However, presenting these recommendations in the form of lists raises the challenge of improving the list's quality, making it a prominent research topic. This study focuses on enhancing the ranking quality of recommended items in user lists while ensuring interpretability. It introduces fuzzy membership functions to measure user attributes on a multi-dimensional item label vector and calculates user similarity based on these features for prediction and recommendation. Additionally, the user similarity network is modeled to extract community information, leading to the design of a set of corresponding recommendation algorithms. Experimental results on two commonly used datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in enhancing list ranking quality, reducing prediction errors, and maintaining recommendation diversity and accurate user preference classification. This research highlights the potential of integrating heuristic methods with complex network theory and fuzzy techniques to enhance recommendation system performance with interpretability in mind.

RESUMO

In recent years, 2, 5-furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA) has attracted much attention as the precursor of bio-polyester materials. A coupled process of ultrasonic-assisted dilute acid pretreatment and MnO2 was designed in this study to directly produce FDCA from lignocellulosic biomass, which is different from the traditional preparation process. Moreover, the critical parameters in the process were analyzed and optimized by the response surface method. The yield of FDCA could reach 52.1% under the optimal conditions. The reaction mechanism indicated that heavy metal elements in lignocellulosic biomass could play the role of the Lewis acid catalyst to promote the formation of FDCA to a certain extent. With the increase of temperature, the heavy metals transfer in biomass from the solid phase to the liquid phase increased, but most of them remain in the former. Therefore, further purification and treatment measures are worthy of attention.

RESUMO

ABSTRACT Introduction: Sports injuries in the anterior cruciate ligament of the knee are common and serious in the field of sports and rehabilitation medicine. Objective: To observe the effect of early comprehensive rehabilitation training on knee function recovery after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. Methods: 40 patients were randomly divided into observation group (n = 19) and control group (n = 21). The control group received routine rehabilitation training and the observation group had water exercise added to their intervention. The active knee flexion range, extension range, and Lysholm score were observed before and 3 months after rehabilitation training. Results: 3 months after training, the active knee flexion range and extension range in the observation group were better than those in the control group (p< 0.05). Lysholm score in the observation group (91.2 ± 5.6) was higher than that in the control group (78.3 ± 4.8), and the difference was statistically significant (p< 0.05). Conclusions: Early systematic rehabilitation training can reduce pain and swelling and improve the function of the knee joint after operation. Level of evidence II; Therapeutic studies - investigation of treatment results.
