RESUMO
OBJECTIVE: Functional vein end to arterial side (ETS) anastomosis uses vein side to arterial side (STS) anastomosis with distal vein ligation, which can achieve similar effects as those of ETS after STS anastomosis. The purpose of the study was to provide a meta-analysis to compare the clinical outcomes between traditional and functional ETS anastomosis in radiocephalic fistula for dialysis access. METHODS: Databases including PubMed, EMbase, the Cochrane Library, CNKI, Wanfang database were searched from the inception to February 6, 2020. Eligible studies comparing traditional and functional ETS anastomosis in radiocephalic fistula were included. Data were analyzed using Review Manager Version 5.3. RESULTS: Seven studies were included in the meta-analysis. Five randomized controlled trials and two cohort studies involving 841 patients were identified. Compared with traditional ETS anastomosis, functional ETS anastomosis had shorter anastomosis time (MD - 9.54, 95% CI - 17.96 to - 1.12, P = 0.03), higher surgical success rate (OR 3.80, 95% CI 1.76-8.22, P < 0.01), fewer complications(OR 0.18, 95% CI 0.08-0.39, P < 0.01), higher patency rate after 3 months (OR 4.91, 95% CI 1.19-20.33, P = 0.03), higher patency rate after 6 months (OR 1.90, 95%CI 1.09-3.31, P = 0.02), higher patency rate after 12 months (OR 1.70, 95% CI 1.09-2.66, P = 0.02). There was no difference after the two arteriovenous (AVF) anastomosisl methods concerning AVF maturation time (SMD - 0.48, 95% CI - 1.30-0.34, P = 0.25) and patency rate after 1 month (OR 1.77, 95% CI 0.65-4.80, P = 0.26). CONCLUSION: Functional ETS anastomosis had advantages of easy operation, high surgical success rate, few complications, high patency rate of 3 months and long-term, but did not have obvious advantage in the early stages concerning AVF maturation time and 1-month patency rate.

Dissipative structure refers to a self-organized and orderly structure that exists far from equilibrium. The human body, considered a classical example, generates negative entropy through the exchange of matter, energy, and information with the environment to counteract the increase in entropy. In this paper,we organized theories and related research on dissipative structure and entropy, discussing their significance in regulating various aspects such as the human body, cancer, aging, and more.By selecting the special population of pregnant women, focusing on the information dimension, developing the corresponding information exchange scale(Cronbach's α>0.9),and proposing the information exchange index,we preliminarily explored the influence of the dissipative structure's information dimension on pregnancy health. The results showed a negative correlation between the information exchange index and anxiety scores during pregnancy(r =-0.35,P<0.001),with an OR value of 0.26(95%CI:0.08~0.80),preliminarily confirming the feasibility of conducting empirical research based on dissipative structure theory. If further relevant empirical studies are conducted,it is expected that new disease prevention strategies will be developed and new theories and methods will be provided for the field of public health.
RESUMO
Objective To establish a small liver cancer biobank with a standard operating procedure and the function of informationized management. Methods According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, blood, tissue, and stool samples were collected from the patients with liver cancer who attended Liver Surgery Center, Tongji Hospital, Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, from August 2012 to December 2020 and signed the informed consent. In-and-out-of-storage management was performed based on the standard procedure for whole blood, serum, frozen tissue, paraffin-embedded tissue, and stool samples, and related clinical and follow-up data were collected. The frozen samples of liver cancer tissue and adjacent tissue in different years were randomly selected, and the concentration and completeness of total RNA were examined to ensure the quality of frozen samples stored in the biobank. Results The samples were collected from 4190 liver cancer patients who underwent surgery within a period of 101 natural months, and there were 41718 frozen tissue samples, 18950 paraffin-embedded tissue samples, 24389 whole blood samples, 20060 serum samples, and 5392 stool samples. The liver cancer patients had an age range of 13-88 years, and male patients accounted for 85.1%. The patients with hepatitis B accounted for 83.3%, and those with liver cirrhosis accounted for 73.5%. A standard operating procedure and an electronic data capture system were developed according to the collection, processing, storage, application, and informationized management of samples. Among the 18 frozen tissue samples randomly selected from the biobank, 16 samples had high RNA quality, which could meet the requirements of subsequent experiments. Conclusion A standardized and informationized biobank has been established for liver cancer, which provides high-quality samples for the basic research on liver cancer and helps to explore the research value of samples.
RESUMO
Background: The incidence of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is increasing in China in recent years, and the impact of psychological factors on IBD has been widely concerned. Aims: To investigate the psychological status of IBD patients and the influencing factors for anxiety and depression disorders. Methods: A total of 358 inpatients with IBD admitted from Oct. 2018 to Dec. 2019 at the Xijing Hospital were recruited; 170 patients with colonic polyps were served as controls. The presence of anxiety and depression were determined using the Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS), respectively. Demographics, disease characteristics, and medication information were also collected. Influencing factors for anxiety and depression disorders were analyzed by logistic regression model. Results: (1) The prevalence of anxiety and depression disorders, as well as the score of SAS and SDS were higher in IBD patients than in controls (P<0.05). (2) CD was associated with a higher prevalence of comorbid depression as compared with UC (P<0.05). (3) SAS and SDS score in active CD were higher than those in remission stage (P<0.05). (4) SAS and SDS score in active IBD increased in parallel with the increase of disease activity (P<0.05). (5) College education or above (OR=8.888, 95% CI: 1.714-46.095, P=0.009 for anxiety; OR=3.831, 95% CI: 1.039-14.760, P=0.008 for depression), and the severe active disease (OR=12.293, 95% CI: 1.501-100.679, P=0.041 for anxiety; OR=3.230, 95% CI: 1.051-5.506, P=0.040 for depression) were risk factors for anxiety and depression, while serving as a office clerk was a protective factor for depression (OR=0.620, 95% CI: 0.113-0.928, P=0.043). (6) SAS and SDS score decreased after 3 months of medication in IBD patients (P<0.05); SDS score of infliximab treatment group was lower than that of 5-aminosalicylic acid and steroid treatment groups (P<0.05). Conclusions: The prevalence of anxiety and depression disorders in IBD patients is considerably high. The degree of anxiety and depression is closely related to the disease activity. After standard treatment, the degree of anxiety and depression decreased. IBD patients at risk for anxiety and depression disorders should be screened for psychological comorbidities and appropriate psychotherapy should be offered.
RESUMO
AIM:To detect the changes of active status of bypass signaling pathways in EML4-ALK positive lung cancer cell line H3122 treated with alectinib, hepatocyte growth factor (HGF), epidermal growth factor (EGF) and transforming growth factor-α (TGF-α), and to explore the potential mechanisms.METHODS:EML4-ALK positive cell line H3122 was treated with increasing concentrations of alectinib or/and induced by HGF, EGF and TGF-α.The cell viability was measured by CCK-8 assay. The cell apoptosis was analyzed by flow cytometry. The protein levels and phosphorylation status of ALK, c-Met and EGFR, and the downstream molecules AKT, ERK, p-AKT and p-ERK were examined by Western blot.RESULTS:The viability of the H3122 cells was inhibited by alectinib in a dose-dependent manner after administrated for 72 h, and the IC50 value was 0.042 μmol/L.The concentration-growth curves of the H3122 cells shifted to the right after induced by HGF, EGF and TGF-α.After treatment with alectinib at 0.05 μmol/L for 48 h, the apoptotic rate of H3122 cells was (20.12±1.36)%, while the apoptotic rates of the cells in the groups of alectinib combined with HGF, EGF or TGF-α were (7.85±1.03)%, (5.60±0.79)% and (4.58±1.00)%, respectively. Those values were remarkably lower than those in alectinib single treatment group (P<0.05).Alectinib inhibited the protein levels of p-ALK and its downstream signaling pathway molecules, while HGF significantly up-regulated the protein levels of p-Met and its downstream p-AKT and p-ERK.Besides, EGF and TGF-α remarkablely up-regulated the protein levels of p-EGFR and its downstream p-AKT and p-ERK.Combined treatment with crizotinib and 17-DMAG successfully inhibited the viability of the H3122 cells even in the presence of the HGF and EGFR ligands, respectively.CONCLUSION:Bypass signaling pathways are activated by HGF, EGF and TGF-α in EML4-ALK positive lung cancer cell line H3122, which may be linked to alectinib resistance.

RESUMO
The present study evaluated the application of three dimensional echocardigraphy (3DE) in the diagnosis of atrial septal defect (ASD) and the measurement of its size by 3DE and compared the size with surgical findings. Two-dimensional and real-time three dimensional echocardiography (RT3DE) was performed in 26 patients with atrial septal defect, and the echocardiographic data were compared with the surgical findings. Significant correlation was found between defect diameter by RT3DE and that measured during surgery (r=0.77, P<0.001). The defect area changed significantly during cardiac cycle. Percentage change in defect size during cardiac cycle ranged from 6%-70%. Our study showed that the size and morphology of atrial septal defect obtained with RT3DE correlate well with surgical findings. Therefore, RT3DE is a feasible and accurate non-invasive imaging tool for assessment of atrial septal size and dynamic changes.
