RESUMO

Chondrosarcomas are rare malignant cartilaginous tumor affecting adult and elderly patient. Pelvic and long bones are the most common location. We differentiate conventional chondrosarcoma which arises do novo from preexisting normal bone (primary chondrosarcoma) or within a preexisting lesion such as enchondromas or osteochondromas (secondary chondrosarcoma), Other rare subtypes of chondrosarcoma include clear cell chondrosarcoma, dedifferentiated chondrosarcoma, and mesenchymal chondrosarcoma, which will be considered separately. Although there are diverse clinical presentations depending on the anatomic extend, radiographic features of chondrosarcoma are very characteristic comprising frequently a combination of bone expansion and heterogeneous calcifications. We report a case of a 56-year-old male suffering from fixed mass adhering to the right pubic bone. MRI views showed a lytic lesion of right superior pubic rami, surgical biopsy was in favor of chondrosarcomas, then an en bloc resection was performed following a Pfannenstiel approach without any recurrence after three years of follow-up.

RESUMO

Osteolipoma are uncommon benign soft tissue tumors, deriving from fat cells metaplasia. We report a case of 47-year-old female with a progressively enlarging, painless mass over the anteromedial aspect of left ankle, explorations showed a calcified masse and histopathologic diagnosis was in favor of osteolipoma, which was resected surgically without any recurrence after 2 years follow up. This tumor can affect different regions of the body but ankle location is very rare and must be distinguished from other diagnosis essentially sarcoma.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND AND AIM: The aim of this article was to study isolated axillary nerve injury, his etiologies, symptomatology and treatment via nerve transfer or neurotization. METHODS: We describe the procedure of long head triceps radial branch transfer to the axillary nerve motor branch in adolescent patient with right deltoid muscle palsy and shoulder anesthesia following a motorcycle crush six months ago. RESULTS: Total recovery of the shoulder sensibility, abduction and extension at one-year follow-up, and patient returned progressively to his normal live and sports activities without any functional effect on the donor muscle. CONCLUSION: The advantages of the axillary nerve transfer are demonstrated through many publications. It is a good therapeutic option if it concerned a young patient and practiced at early time followed by adequate rehabilitation.

RESUMO

A pure divergent dislocation involving the index and middle finger carpometacarpal joints is an extremely rare injury. We present a case of 21-year-old military man, victim of a motor vehicle accident, admitted at the emergency department unable to move his left hand with major swelling. X-rays and CT scan showed a dorsal dislocation of second and palmar dislocation of the third carpometacarpal joints without associated fracture, In the Operating room under general anesthesia, patient underwent closed reduction and internal fixation with percutaneous K-Wires followed by cast immobilization during 6 weeks. Physiotherapy was started progressively after k-wires removal. At two months follow-up, results were excellent and patient has recovered all of his range of motion and hand activities, at one-year follow-up he was able to perform all military exercises such as pumping and climbing.
