RESUMO

Stripe rust is a devastating disease of wheat worldwide. Chinese wheat cultivar Lanhangxuan 121 (LHX121), selected from an advanced line L92-47 population that had been subjected to space mutation breeding displayed a consistently higher level of resistance to stipe rust than its parent in multiple field environments. The aim of this research was to establish the number and types of resistance genes in parental lines L92-47 and LHX121 using separate segregating populations. The first population developed from a cross between LHX121 and susceptible cultivar Xinong 822 comprised 278 F2:3 lines. The second validation population comprised 301 F2:3 lines from a cross between L92-47 and susceptible cultivar Xinong 979. Lines of two population were evaluated for stripe rust response at three sites during the 2018-2020 cropping season. Affymetrix 660 K SNP arrays were used to genotype the lines and parents. Inclusive composite interval mapping detected QTL QYrLHX.nwafu-2BS, QYrLHX.nwafu-3BS, and QYrLHX.nwafu-5BS for resistance in all three environments. Based on previous studies and pedigree information, QYrLHX.nwafu-2BS and QYrLHX.nwafu-3BS were likely to be Yr27 and Yr30 that are present in the L92-47 parent. QYrLHX.nwafu-5BS (YrL121) detected only in LHX121 was mapped to a 7.60 cM interval and explained 10.67-22.57% of the phenotypic variation. Compared to stripe rust resistance genes previously mapped to chromosome 5B, YrL121 might be a new adult plant resistance QTL. Furthermore, there were a number of variations signals using 35 K SNP array and differentially expressed genes using RNA-seq between L92-47 and LHX121 in the YrL121 region, indicating that they probably impair the presence and/or function of YrL121. Three-dimensional integrated packaging with through-silicon vias (TSV) can meet the requirements of high-speed computation, high-density storage, low power consumption, and compactness. However, higher power density increases heat dissipation problems, such as severe internal heat storage and prominent local hot spots. Among bulk materials, diamond has the highest thermal conductivity (≥2000 W/mK), thereby prompting its application in high-power semiconductor devices for heat dissipation. In this paper, we report an innovative bottom-up Cu electroplating technique with a high-aspect-ratio (10:1) through-diamond vias (TDV). The TDV structure was fabricated by laser processing. The electrolyte wettability of the diamond and metallization surface was improved by Ar/O plasma treatment. Finally, a Cu-filled high-aspect-ratio TDV was realized based on the bottom-up Cu electroplating process at a current density of 0.3 ASD. The average single-via resistance was ≤50 mΩ, which demonstrates the promising application of the fabricated TDV in the thermal management of advanced packaging systems.

Polymer-based thermally conductive materials are preferred for heat dissipation owing to their low density, flexibility, low cost, and easy processing. Researchers have been trying to develop a polymer-based composite film with excellent thermal conductivity (TC), mechanical strength, thermal stability, and electrical properties. However, synergistically achieving these properties in a single material is still a challenge. To address the above requirements, we prepared poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride)-functionalized nanodiamond (ND@PDDA)/aramid nanofiber (ANF) composite films using a self-assembly strategy. Owing to a strong interfacial interaction arising from electrostatic attraction, ND particles attract strongly along the ANF axis to form ANF/ND "core-sheath" arrangements. These assemblies self-construct three-dimensional thermally conductive networks through ANF gelation precipitation, which was analyzed as the key parameter for the realization of high thermal performances. The as-prepared ND@PDDA/ANF composite films exhibited high in-plane and through-plane TCs up to 30.99 and 6.34 W/m·K, respectively, at a 50 wt % functionalized ND loading, representing the optimal values among all previously reported polymer-based electrical insulating composite films. Furthermore, the nanocomposites also achieved other properties necessary for realistic applications, such as outstanding mechanical properties, excellent thermal stability, ultra-low thermal expansion coefficient, excellent electrical insulation, low dielectric constant, low dielectric loss, and outstanding flame retardancy. Thus, this excellent comprehensive performance enables the ND@PDDA/ANF composite films to be used as advanced multifunctional nanocomposites in thermal management, flexible electronics, and intelligent wearable equipment.

Liquid-liquid microextraction (LLME) combined with gas chromatography-olfactometry-mass spectrometry (GC-O-MS) was used to detect the variations in volatile compounds during the distillation process (head, heart, and tail) of raw Baijiu produced by different layers of fermented grains; 47 aroma compounds were sniffed and identified. Moreover, temperature-programmed headspace gas chromatography-ion mobility spectrometry (TP-HS-GC-IMS) was applied to characterize the Baijiu distillation process for the first time. The 3D fingerprint spectrum clearly showed a variation in volatile compounds from different distillation stages, and most compounds showed a downward trend. In addition, multivariate statistical analysis, including principal component analysis (PCA), partial least squares discriminant analysis (PLS-DA), etc., confirmed ten aroma active markers related to classification, indicating that these markers had a great influence on the flavor of raw Baijiu.

Val-Asn-Pro (VNP) was identified from the raw material of baijiu distillation (Jiupei) and exhibit antioxidant activity in vitro. In this study, residue after baijiu distillation (Jiuzao) was used to seek the antioxidant peptide VNP with the methods reported inthe previous study. Its potential antioxidant mechanism in vivo was further assessed. Gene and protein expressions of Nrf2/Keap1-p38MAPK/PI3K-MafK signaling pathway and downstream enzymes (i.e., CAT, GPX1, SOD1, and HO-1) in AAPH-induced oxidative stress Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were investigated. Influence of VNP on baijiu characteristics was also investigated. Based on the results, VNP was identified with a content of 5.25 mg/g Jiuzao. VNP significantly mitigated excess oxidative stress via activation of Nrf2/Keap1-p38MAPK/PI3K-MafK signaling pathway and activated downstream antioxidant enzymes. Furthermore, VNP showed unconspicuous influence on the flavor and taste of baijiu when added into baijiu and the content remained stable during storage. These results indicated that VNP is a potent antioxidant component isolated from Jiuzao that can be used in baijiu to enhance its antioxidant effect without affecting the main flavor and taste. The utilization of these functional components can also increase the added value of Jiuzao.

RESUMO

On the demand of single-photon entangled light sources and high-sensitivity probes in the fields of quantum information processing, weak magnetic field detection and biosensing, the nitrogen vacancy (NV) color center is very attractive and has been deeply and intensively studied, due to its convenience of spin initialization, operation, and optical readout combined with long coherence time in the ambient environment. Although the application prospect is promising, there are still some problems to be solved before fully exerting its characteristic performance, including enhancement of emission of NV centers in certain charge state (NV- or NV0 ), obtaining indistinguishable photons, and improving of collecting efficiency for the photons. Herein, the research progress in these issues is reviewed and commented on to help researchers grasp the current trends. In addition, the development of emerging color centers, such as germanium vacancy defects, and rare-earth dopants, with great potential for various applications, are also briefly surveyed.

Thermoactinomyces daqus H-18 is a new species of Thermoactinomyces isolated from high-temperature Daqu used in the fermentation of Bandongjing sesame-flavor liquor. Its genome was sequenced and assembled (3.44 Mb). The coding sequences (CDSs) that correlated to high-temperature tolerance were annotated. The metabolic pathways for the compounds responsible for flavor were also found.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the efficacy of thrombolytic therapy with urokinase and/or anticoagulant with low molecular weight heparin in patients with acute pulmonary embolism. METHODS: 127 patients with documented acute pulmonary embolism were treated with different regimens: thrombolysis combined with anticoagulant therapy in 70 cases, thrombolytic therapy alone in 31 cases and pure anticoagulant therapy in 26 cases. RESULTS: Dyspnea was the most common symptom (91.3%), then cough (74.0%), chest pain (63.0%) and syncope (21.3%). As compared with pre-treatment in each group, there was significant improvement in respiratory rate, heart rate, partial pressure of oxygen in artery and partial pressure of carbon dioxide in artery. The effective rate of thrombolysis combined with anticoagulant therapy, thrombolytic therapy and anticoagulant therapy were 90.0%, 77.4% and 61.5%, respectively, the total effective rate of thrombolytic therapy was 86.1%. The best efficacy was demonstrated in patients within one week after onset of symptoms. The therapy might be effective for cases with duration longer than two weeks after the onset of symptoms. CONCLUSION: Thrombolytic therapy with urokinase combined with low molecular weight heparin is effective and safe for acute pulmonary embolism.

OBJECTIVES: To study the antibacterial effect of Niaoluqing Oral Liquid (NOL) on clinical drug-resistant strains and 14 serotype strains Ureaplasma Urealyticum (UU). METHODS: Sixty-three clinical strains of UU were detected to determine their serology and antibiotic susceptibilities by the metabolic inhibition test (MIT). Mininum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was used to evaluate the sensitivity of NOL to different serotypes of UU. The sensitivity of NOL, erythromycin and tetracycline to 63 clinical strains of UU was also studied. RESULTS: In 63 clinical strains of UU, the range of MIC to NOL was from 0.48 mg/ml to 15.63 mg/ml, MIC50 < or = 1.95 mg/ml, MIC90 < or = 3.91 mg/ml. Among them, 31 strains were resistant to tetracycline and 31 were resistant to erythromycin. No obvious correlation between the sensitivity of NOL to UU clinical strains and that of erythromycin and tetracycline to UU clinical strains (P > 0.05). Clinical strains of UU in this experiment contains all of its serotypes, also having a higher sensitivity to NOL (MIC < or = 3.91 mg/ml) except serology 1, 2, 3 and 11 (MIC > or = 7.81 mg/ml). CONCLUSIONS: NOL exerts a strong in vitro antibacterial effect on erythromycin-resistant and tetracycline-resistant clinical strains of UU. All kinds of serotype strains had a higher sensitivity to NOL, too. Chinese medicinal herbs are of momentous significance in the treatment of UU infection.

OBJECTIVE: To explore an available and sensitive method to detect cervical lymph node micrometastasis in patients with laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma. METHOD: The primary tumors and 182 neck lymph nodes from Twenty cases with supraglottic cancer dissection were examined with immunohistochemical (IHC) staining using cytokeratin 19 (CK19), and haematoxylin and eosin (HgE) staining. The frequency of lymph node metastasis and the clinical relevance, and the relationship between overall survival time and lymph node metastases by Log Rank test were analyzed. RESULT: The expression of CK19 was 23. 6% of lymph nodes and all of the primary tumors. In Hg-E staining, 16.5% of lymph nodes were positive. There was highly significant difference between them. There were 88.4% lymph nodes, 9.3% lymph nodes and 2.3% lymph node corresponding to the II, III and IV levels by IHC. Lymph node metastases were detected on the II (86.7%) and III levels (13.3%) with H&E. The highest rate of positive lymph nodes was on the II level of the neck. There was highly significant difference between overall survival time and lymph node metastasis in CK19 analysis. CONCLUSION: The expression of CK19 may be served as an available method to evaluate occult micrometastases in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma. High frequency of CK19 was associated with a decreased probability of survival time.
