RESUMO

The booming growth of all inorganic cesium lead halide perovskites in optoelectronic applications has prompted extensive research interest in the fabrication of ordered nanostructures or microarrays for enhanced device performances. However, the high cost and complexity of commercial lithographic approaches impede the facile fabrication of perovskite microarrays. Herein, CsPbBr3 microarrays with tunable periodicities have been fabricated using a self-assembled polystyrene nanosphere template and a co-evaporation method. The periodicity of CsPbBr3 microarrays is precisely manipulated by simply modifying the size of polystyrene nanospheres. These microarrays are beneficial for light harvesting, leading to better light absorption ability and prolonged photoinduced carrier lifetime. The longest average carrier lifetime of 58.3 ns is obtained for CsPbBr3 microarrays with a periodicity of 1.0 µm. More importantly, the periodic structures of CsPbBr3 microarrays result in a tunable density of emitter tips in field emission devices. Compared to compact CsPbBr3 films, a 68.2% decrease of the turn-on field is observed for CsPbBr3 microarrays when the periodicity is 150 nm. The higher density of emitter tips leads to larger local field enhancement, and hence the largest field enhancement factor of 3346.6. Finally, a good emission current stability for CsPbBr3 microarray-based field emission devices has been demonstrated.

Hirsuteine is one of the major bioactive tetracyclic indole alkaloids found in Uncaria rhynchophylla (Miq.) Jacks, possessing a wide range of pharmacological activities including neuroprotective, anticonvulsant, antihypertensive, sedative and hypnotic, and so forth. The present study was undertaken to assess the metabolism and plasma pharmacokinetics of hirsuteine in rats. After oral administration of hirsuteine at the dose of 30 mg/kg, 13, 21, and 8 metabolites were detected in rat plasma, urine, and bile by ultra-high performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry, respectively. Furthermore, plasma concentrations of hirsuteine and its four metabolites, 4-hirsuteine N-oxide, 3,4-dehydrohirsuteine, 11-hydroxyhirsuteine, and 11-hydroxyhirsuteine-11-O-glucuronide were simultaneously quantified in rat plasma, using carbamazepine as the internal standard. The linear calibration curve of hirsuteine was in the concentration range of 0.005-5.0 µg/ml. The lower limit of quantitation in the rat plasma was 5 ng/ml for hirsuteine. This study is the first to comprehensively investigate the metabolism process of hirsuteine and the pharmacokinetic profiles of hirsuteine and its major metabolite, and will provide a scientific basis to further elucidate the pharmacodynamic material basis and therapeutic mechanism of Uncaria prescriptions.

Malus baccata (L.) Borkh is an apple rootstock with good drought and cold resistance. The ICE gene is a key factor in the molecular mechanisms of plant drought and cold resistance. In the present research, the function of drought- and cold-induced MbICE1 of Malus baccata was investigated in Arabidopsis. According to GFP fluorescence images, MbICE1 was determined to be a nuclear protein. The MbICE1 was transferred to Arabidopsis, showing enhanced tolerance to drought and cold stresses. Under drought and cold treatments, the transgenic Arabidopsis had higher chlorophyll content and free proline content than WT plants, but the Malondialdehyde (MDA) content and electrolyte leakage (EL) were lower than those of WT plants. In addition, drought and cold led to a large accumulation of ROS (H2O2 and O2-) content in Arabidopsis, while overexpression of MbICE1 enhanced the antioxidant enzyme activity in Arabidopsis and improved the plant's resistance to stresses. Moreover, the accumulation of MbICE1 promoted the expression of AtCBF1, AtCBF2, AtCBF3, AtCOR15a, AtCOR47 and AtKIN1 genes in Arabidopsis. These data indicate that MbICE1 is a key regulator of drought and cold and can be used as a backup gene for breeding Malus rootstocks.

Greenhouse culture is a practical approach to obtain non-wood forest products from berry fruit at a higher efficacy than resource silviculture in natural understory. In this study, three-year old black chokeberry (Aronia melanocarpa (Michx.) Elliott 1821) seedlings were transplanted to a greenhouse where sunlight was complemented by red- (69.4% red, 30.2% green, 0.4% blue) and blue-color (15.3% red, 64.9% green, 19.8% blue) light-emitting diode (LED) illuminations. Half of the planting soils were amended by spent mushroom residue (SMR) (not amendment as the control) and half the seedlings were sprayed by chitosan oligosaccharide (CO) on leaves. All treatments can increase seedling height, but only blue light reinforces the basal diameter growth. Compared to sunlight, exposure to blue light can promote leaf nitrogen and phosphorus concentrations, superoxide dismutase activity, and fruit proanthocyanidin content. The combination with CO addition will further increase chlorophyl a content, acid phosphatase activity, and total phenolics in fruit. SMR amended can induce the steady state uptake of nutrients but failed to impact fruit quality. Overall, we recommend the combination of blue light LED illumination plus CO addition to culture black chokeberry for the purpose to gain natural bioactive compounds.
