RESUMO

This study aimed to explore the role of the two-component system Bae SR in the mechanism of drug resistance in carbapenem-resistant A. baumannii (CRAB) using molecular docking and real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The two-component system Bae SR of Acinetobacter baumannii was subjected to molecular docking with imipenem, meropenem, and levofloxacin. Antibacterial assays and fluorescence quantitative PCR were used to explore protein-ligand interactions and molecular biological resistance mechanisms related to CRAB. The analysis of the two-component system in A. baumannii revealed that imipenem exhibited the highest docking energy in Bae S at - 5.81 kcal/mol, while the docking energy for meropenem was - 4.92 kcal/mol. For Bae R, imipenem had a maximum docking energy of - 4.28 kcal/mol, compared with - 4.60 kcal/mol for meropenem. The highest binding energies for Bae S-levofloxacin and Bae R-levofloxacin were - 3.60 and - 3.65 kcal/mol, respectively. All imipenem-resistant strains had minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values of 16 µg/mL, whereas levofloxacin-resistant strains had MIC values of 8 µg/mL. The time-sterilization curve showed a significant decrease in bacterial colony numbers at 2 h under the action of 8 µg/mL imipenem, indicating antibacterial effects. In contrast, levofloxacin did not exhibit any antibacterial activity. Fluorescence quantitative PCR results revealed significantly increased relative expression levels of bae S and bae R genes in the CRAB group, which were 2 and 1.5 times higher than those in the CSAB group, respectively, with statistically significant differences. Molecular docking in this study found that the combination of Bae SR and carbapenem antibiotics (imipenem, meropenem) exhibited stronger affinity and stability compared with levofloxacin. Moreover, the overexpression of the two-component system genes in carbapenem-resistant A. baumannii enhanced its resistance to carbapenem, providing theoretical and practical insights into carbapenem resistance in respiratory tract infections caused by A. baumannii.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: The mechanism underlying HCC metastasis remains unclear, many oncogenes are known to regulate this process. However, the role of alternative splicing (AS) in pro-metastatic HCC is poorly understood. APPROACH AND RESULTS: By performing RNA sequencing on nine pairs of primary HCC tissues with extrahepatic metastasis (EHMH) and nine pairs of metastasis-free HCC (MFH) tissues, we depicted the AS landscape in HCC and found a higher frequency of AS events in EHMH compared with MFH. Moreover, 28 differentially expressed splicing regulators were identified in EHMH compared with MFH. Among these, DEAD-box RNA helicase 17 (DDX17) was significantly up-regulated in EHMH and was strongly associated with patient outcome. Functional studies indicated that DDX17 knockout inhibited the degradation of the extracellular matrix, and diminished the invasive ability of HCC cells. A significant reduction in lung metastasis induced by DDX17 deficiency was also demonstrated in a diethylnitrosamine-induced DDX17HKO mouse model. Mechanistically, high DDX17 induced intron 3 retention of PXN-AS1 and produced a transcript (termed PXN-AS1-IR3). The transcript PXN-AS1-IR3 acted as an important promoter of HCC metastasis by inducing MYC transcription activation via recruiting the complex of testis expressed 10 and p300 to the MYC enhancer region, which led to transcriptional activation of several metastasis-associated downstream genes. Finally, the PXN-AS1-IR3 level was significantly higher in serum and HCC tissues with extrahepatic metastasis. CONCLUSIONS: DDX17 and PXN-AS1-IR3 act as important metastatic promoters by modulating MYC signaling, suggesting that DDX17 and PXN-AS1-IR3 may be potential prognostic markers for metastatic HCC.

RESUMO

This study tested the hypothesis that brassinosteroids (BRs) mediate moderate soil-drying (MD) to alleviate spikelet degeneration under high temperature (HT) stress during meiosis of rice (Oryza sativa L.). A rice cultivar was pot-grown and subjected to normal temperature (NT) and HT treatments during meiosis, and two irrigation regimes including well-watered (WW) and MD were imposed to the plants simultaneously. The MD effectively alleviated the spikelet degeneration and yield loss under HT stress mainly via improving root activity and canopy and panicle traits including higher photosynthetic capacity, tricarboxylic acid cycle activity, and antioxidant capacity than WW. These parameters were regulated by BRs levels in plants. The decrease in BRs levels at HT was due mainly to the enhanced BRs decomposition, and the MD could rescue the BRs deficiency at HT via enhancing BRs biosynthesis and impeding decomposition. The connection between BRs and HT was verified by using rice BRs-deficient mutants, transgenic rice lines, and chemical regulators. Similar results were obtained in the open-air field experiment. The results suggest that BRs can mediate the MD to alleviate spikelet degeneration under HT stress during meiosis mainly via enhancing root activity, canopy traits, and young panicle traits of rice.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) accumulation is associated with multiple cardiometabolic risk factors and prognosis of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). The correlation between EAT density and cardiometabolic risk and the effect of EAT density on clinical outcome in HFpEF remain unclear. We evaluated the relationship between EAT density and cardiometabolic risk factors, also the prognostic value of EAT density in patients with HFpEF. METHODS: We included 154 HFpEF patients who underwent noncontrast cardiac computed tomography (CT) and all patients received follow-up. EAT density and volume were quantified semi-automatically. The associations of EAT density and volume with cardiometabolic risk factors, metabolic syndrome and the prognostic impact of EAT density were analyzed. RESULTS: Lower EAT density was associated with adverse changes in cardiometabolic risk factors. Each 1 HU increase in fat density, BMI was 0.14 kg/m2 lower (95% CI 0.08-0.21), waist circumference was 0.34 cm lower (95% CI 0.12-0.55), non-HDL-cholesterol was 0.02 mmol/L lower (95% CI 0-0.04), triglyceride was 0.03 mmol/L lower (95% CI 0.01-0.04), fasting plasma glucose was 0.05 mmol/L lower (95% CI 0.02-0.08), TyG index was 0.03 lower (95% CI 0.02-0.04), Log2(TG/HDL-C) was 0.03 lower (95% CI 0.02-0.05), METS-IR was 0.36 lower (95% CI 0.23-0.49), MetS Z-score was 0.04 lower (95% CI 0.02-0.06), and Log2(CACS + 1) was 0.09 lower (95% CI 0.02-0.15). After adjusting for BMI and EAT volume, the associations of non-HDL-cholesterol, triglyceride, fasting plasma glucose, insulin resistance indexes, MetS Z-score, and CACS with fat density remained significant. The area under the curve (AUC) for the presence and severity of metabolic syndrome was greater in EAT density than volume (AUC: 0.731 vs 0.694, 0.735 vs 0.662, respectively). Over a median follow-up of 16 months, the cumulative incidence of heart failure readmission and composite endpoint increased with lower level of EAT density (both p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: EAT density was an independent impact factor of cardiometabolic risk in HFpEF. EAT density might have better predictive value than EAT volume for metabolic syndrome and it might have prognostic value in patients with HFpEF.

RESUMO

Non-contact temperature measurement at the nanoscale by photoluminescence using a nano-sensor in a confined fluid has been performed in the present work. Upconversion lanthanide-doped nanoparticles applied to ratiometric thermometry could be considered as a self-referenced nanosensor. Gadolinium orthovanadate (GdVO4) nanoparticles doped with Yb3+ and Er3+ were synthesized and then dispersed in an ester-based fluid. Rheological measurements show that the viscosity of the dispersed NP suspension remains unchanged up to a shear rate of 10-4 s-1 at 393 K. The NP suspension allows luminescence intensity ratio (LIR) thermometry up to 473 K with a relative sensitivity of 1.17% K-1 with a NIR laser. Then, the temperature calibration by coupling the high pressure (1.08 GPa max) confirmed the applicability of NPs as a thermosensor in a variable pressure environment. According to these results, the fluid containing GdVO4:Yb3+/Er3+ nanoparticles can be used for temperature sensing in a pressurized environment for further application in tribology.

RESUMO

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection remains a global public health problem. Nearly 257 million people worldwide have been infected with HBV, resulting in 887,000 people dying of cirrhosis or liver cancer caused by chronic hepatitis B (CHB) annually. Therefore, identification of new targets against HBV is urgently needed. Long noncoding RNAs (LncRNAs) have gained widespread attention in recent years due to their function in cancer, inflammation and other diseases. Notably, a growing number of lncRNAs have been found to play a role in HBV development. In the present study, we first identified a famous lncRNA, HOTAIR, which was significantly up-regulated in HBV-infected cells and PBMCs from CHB patients. Furthermore, we evaluated the clinical relevance of HOTAIR in 20 CHB patients and found that higher levels of HOTAIR expression were associated with higher ALT/AST levels and were positively correlated with HBsAg and HBV DNA levels. In addition, functional analysis showed that HOTAIR promoted HBV transcription and replication by elevating the activities of HBV promoters via modulation of the levels of cccDNA-bound SP1. In conclusion, our study reveals that HOTAIR expression is correlated with the clinicopathological and physiological characteristics of HBV. Thus, HOTAIR may serve as a novel HBV diagnostic and therapeutic biomarker based on its ability to facilitate HBV transcription and replication.

RESUMO

Beta-blockers, especially selective ß1 -adrenoceptor antagonists, are often used to treat cardiovascular disease, even when complicated by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The association of beta-blocker selectivity and treatment effects is disputed, and the curative effects and side-effects of various antagonists may differ. Herein we investigated the effects of 1 months treatment with the selective ß1 -adrenoceptor antagonist metoprolol and the non-selective ß-adrenoceptor antagonist propranolol on pulmonary function and pathology in a 4-month rat model of passive cigarette smoke exposure and explored potential mechanisms of action. Lung function and general pathological changes were evaluated after 4 months exposure to cigarette smoke, with metoprolol and propranolol treatment (50 and 25 mg/kg per day, respectively; intragastrically) during the last month. Cytokine and mucin levels in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) were determined by ELISA, whereas ß1 - and ß2 -adrenoceptor expression in the lungs was evaluated by immunohistochemistry and western blot analysis. Chronic treatment with metoprolol and propranolol did not exacerbate peak expiratory flow or intra-airway pressure in rats exposed to cigarette smoke. Propranolol significantly attenuated inflammatory cell infiltration, cytokine levels (tumour necrosis factor-α and interleukin-8) in BALF or mucus secretion, whereas metoprolol reduced only smooth muscle proliferation. Moreover, propranolol treatment was associated (albeit not significantly) with restoring ß2 -adrenoceptor expression in airway epithelia. Propranolol had a more beneficial effect on cigarette smoking-induced lung damage than metoprolol in a smoking rat model that may be associated with restoration of endogenous ß2 -adrenoceptor density in the airway epithelial cells.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: The effects of one-month treatment of ß-adrenergic receptor (AR) blockers on the relaxant function of airway in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are unknown. A passive cigarette smoking rat model was used to investigate the effect of ß-AR blockers. METHODS: Thirty-six rats were randomly divided into six groups: control (C); propranolol (P); metoprolol (M); smoking (S); smoking + propranolol (SP); and smoking + metoprolol (SM). Histological analysis of the lungs was done and isolated tracheal segments were studied in vitro to assess the contractile and relaxant function of the smooth muscle. The level of norepinephrine (NE) was measured. RESULTS: Airway inflammation was more severe in group S than group C (p < 0.001), and it was alleviated in group SP (p < 0.001) while had no change in group SM. After propranolol or metoprolol administration, the level of NE was significantly lower in both SP and SM groups (p < 0.01). The maximal contractile response to acetylcholine (Ach) in groups S and SM was increased compared to group C (p < 0.01). Propranolol significantly inhibited contractile response in group SP (p < 0.05), while metoprolol did not show the same effect. The curve of maximum relaxant rate to isoprenaline (Iso) shifted to the left in group SP (p < 0.01), while group SM showed no changes. CONCLUSION: One-month treatment with propranolol increased the relaxant effect mediated by the ß2-AR and decreased the contractile response to Ach by reducing the level of NE.

RESUMO

Background: Tai Chi, originating in China, is a mind-body exercise that integrates mind training, Qi training, and body training. While Tai Chi practice has demonstrated beneficial physical and psychological health benefits, how it achieves effects has been less studied. In recent years, some researchers have begun to explore the potential of heart rate variability (HRV) changes as balancing the autonomic nervous system (ANS) to achieve results, but only a few studies have directly tested how Tai Chi impacts HRV, and results have been mixed. Objective: This study systematically evaluates the effects of Tai Chi on HRV. Methods: Electronic databases including Web of Science, PubMed, Scopus, Cochrane Library, and EBSCOhost direct from inception until December 2020 were searched to obtain eligible studies. The primary outcomes examined were HRV parameters (time domain and frequency domain), and secondary analysis was whether breathing was emphasized during Tai Chi interventions. Results: Based on the 11 randomized controlled trials included comparing Tai Chi with non-active control condition, meta-analyses showed significantly beneficial effects on HRV parameters (low-frequency power [LF], mean difference [MD] = -200.40, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 365.31 to -35.49, p = 0.02; normalized low-frequency power [nLF], MD = -7.39, 95% CI: -12.48 to -2.29, p = 0.004; total power [TP], MD = -649.82, 95% CI: -1180.54 to -119.11, p = 0.02; very low-frequency power [VLF], MD = -200.55, 95% CI: -349.63 to -51.46, p = 0.008; root mean square of the square sum of the difference between adjacent normal heartbeat intervals [RMSSD], MD = 2.59, 95% CI: -7.23 to 12.41, p < 0.0001; standard deviation of the heartbeat interval [SDNN], MD = 8.33, 95% CI: 0.69 to 15.98, p = 0.03). The effect of Tai Chi on certain HRV parameters compared with active control conditions was less favorable (nLF, MD = 6.42, 95% CI: 3.74 to 9.09, p < 0.00001; normalized high-frequency power [nHF], MD: -6.13, 95% CI: -8.76 to -3.50, p < 0.00001; low-frequency/high-frequency power ratio [LF/HF], MD = 1.00, 95% CI: 0.68 to 1.33, p < 0.00001). In addition, studies describing an emphasis on breathing in the Tai Chi intervention showed positive impact on HRV (nLF, MD = -3.22, 95% CI: -5.32 to -1.12, p = 0.003; nHF, MD = 3.80, 95% CI: 0.80 to 6.81, p = 0.01; SDNN, MD = 5.55, 95% CI: 4.85 to 6.25, p < 0.00001). Conclusions: Meta-analysis results showed that Tai Chi compared with non-active control conditions has a positive impact on key HRV parameters associated with the ANS balance. However, active control condition comparisons showed greater HRV improvements than for Tai Chi. Considering the limited number of studies and their heterogeneity, further robust studies are necessary to verify findings and investigate differential effects of Tai Chi on HRV.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Metastasis is one of the leading cause contributes to treatment failure and poor prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients. The underlying mechanism of HCC metastasis remains to be determined. Although several RNA binding proteins (RBPs) have been found to participate in tumorigenesis and progression of liver cancer, the role of RBPs in HCC patients with extrahepatic metastases is poorly understood. METHODS: By performing RNA-seq of primary HCC tissues (including HCC with extrahepatic metastasis and those did not develop metastasis), we identified a set of HCC metastasis-associated RBPs candidates. Among which, ribosomal protein S7 (RPS7) was found to be remarkably increased in HCC tissues and be strongly related to HCC poor survival. Overexpression or CRISPR-Cas9-mediated knockout were applied to investigate the role of RPS7 on the metastasis-associated phenotypes of HCC cells. RNA sequencing, RIP, RNA-pull down, dual luciferase reporter assay, nascent RNA capture assay, and RNA decay and so on, were applied to reveal the underlying mechanism of RPS7 induced HCC metastasis. RESULTS: Gain- and loss- of function analyses revealed that RPS7 promoted HCC cells adhesion, migration and invasion capabilities, as well as lung metastasis. Mechanistically, we uncovered that lysyl oxidase-like 2 (LOXL2) was a critical downstream target of RPS7. RPS7 could stabilize LOXL2 mRNA by binding to AUUUA motifs in the 3155-3375 region of the 3'UTR of LOXL2 mRNA, thus increased LOXL2 expression via elevating LOXL2 mRNA abundance. Further research revealed that LOXL2 could accelerate focal adhesion formation through maintaining the protein stability of ITGB1 and activating ITGB1-mediated FAK/SRC signaling pathway, and thereby contribute to the pro-metastasis effect of RPS7. CONCLUSIONS: Taken together, our data reveal a novel function of RPS7 in HCC metastasis, also reveal the critical roles of the RPS7/LOXL2/ITGB1 axis in HCC metastasis and shed new light on the exploration of molecular drugs against HCC.

RESUMO

INTRODUCTION: Limited studies have explored the clinical features, treatment, and prognosis of neonatal tuberculosis (TB). Here, we attempted to delineate the clinical characteristics of neonatal TB, which may help clinicians further understand this disease. METHODS: A retrospective analysis of neonates diagnosed with congenital and/or neonatal TB disease from January 2010 to December 2020 was performed. Information on the demographic and epidemiological features, clinical symptoms, laboratory and imaging examinations, therapeutic regimens, and outcomes was collected. Kaplan-Meier analysis was used to present the time to disease onset, time to diagnosis, etc. Results: Forty-eight cases of neonatal TB were classified into congenital (n = 33) and postnatal (n = 15). The median time to disease onset in postnatal group was significantly longer than that in congenital group. Positive results for gastric fluid acid-fast bacilli, TB culture, Xpert MTB/RIF, interferon-γ release assay (IGRA), and tuberculin skin test were detected in 26/48 (54.2%), 14/34 (41.2%), 11/18 (61.1%), 19/29 (65.5%), and 8/24 (33.3%) patients, respectively. For lymphadenopathy, computed tomography (CT) scans showed a higher detection rate than did X-ray (80.0% vs. 0). Of the 48 infants, 44/48 (91.7%) received anti-TB therapy, and 33/44 (75%) were clinically improved or cured after 22.1 months (interquartile range: 12.4-27.7) of follow-up. Drug-induced liver injury occurred in 14/44 (31.8%) patients. DISCUSSION/CONCLUSION: IGRA and Xpert MTB/RIF showed good positive rate in neonatal TB infection/disease. In cases where TB is presumed but etiological evidence is lacking, low-dose CT could be considered. Prompt treatment under careful surveillance is important for preventing mortality and avoiding severe adverse effects.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) have become a major public health problem among female sex workers (FSWs) in China. There have been many studies on prevalences of HIV and syphilis but the data about Neisseria gonorrhoeae (NG) and Chlamydia trachomatis (CT) infections are limited in this population in China. METHODS: A cross-sectional study was performed among FSWs recruited from different types of venues in 8 cities in China. An interview with questionnaire was conducted, followed by collection of a blood and cervical swab specimens for tests of HIV, syphilis, NG and CT infections. RESULTS: A total of 3,099 FSWs were included in the study. The overall prevalence rates of HIV, syphilis, NG and CT were 0.26%, 6.45%, 5.91% and 17.30%, respectively. Being a FSW from low-tier venue (adjusted odds ratios [AOR]=1.39) had higher risk and being age of ≥ 21 years (AOR=0.60 for 21-25 years; AOR=0.29 for 26-30 years; AOR=0.35 for 31 years or above) had lower risk for CT infection; and having CT infection was significantly associated with NG infection. CONCLUSIONS: The high STI prevalence rates found among FSWs, especially among FSWs in low-tier sex work venues, suggest that the comprehensive prevention and control programs including not only behavioral interventions but also screening and medical care are needed to meet the needs of this population.

RESUMO

The world is facing the problem of resource scarcity and environmental degradation. Improving energy efficiency is an effective way to reduce energy consumption and reduce pollutant emissions. Based on relevant data from 30 Chinese provinces from 2011 to 2019, this paper constructs energy efficiency indicators by establishing a super-efficient three-stage SBM-DEA model. It explores the impact of digital finance on energy efficiency using a systematic generalized moment estimation method and constructs an analytical framework for the impact of digital inclusive finance on energy efficiency from the breadth of coverage, depth of use, and degree of digitization of digital inclusive finance. In addition, this paper examines the differences in the impact of digital inclusive finance on energy efficiency from a sub-regional perspective. Research indicates the following: (1) At the national level, the relationship between digital inclusive finance development and energy efficiency in China shows an inverted "U"-shape; the breadth of digital financial coverage, the use of digital insurance services and digital credit services, and the degree of digitalization of digital finance all have significant effects on energy efficiency. (2) From a regional perspective, the impact of digital inclusive finance on energy efficiency has regional heterogeneity. Based on this finding, first, the government should speed up the construction of digital financial infrastructure to promote the further development of digital finance. Second, the government should take appropriate measures to regulate industry giants. Third, the government should adjust measures to local conditions when formulating policies. The above research has certain implications for improving the targeting of digital finance-related policies and promoting the high-quality development of China's economy.

RESUMO

We conducted a cross-sectional study on prevalence of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and syphilis among female sex workers (FSWs) recruited from different types of venues in 6 cities in China. Among 5322 FSWs (1379 were from high-tier venues, 2482 from middle-tier venues, and 1461 from low-tier venues, respectively), overall HIV prevalence was 0.54% (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.37%- 0.76%). By typology of venues where FSWs solicited clients, the prevalence was 1.37% (95% CI, 0.89%-2.11%) in low-tier venues, 0.28% (95% CI, 0.14%- 0.58%) in middle-tier venues, and 0.07% (95% CI, 0.01%-0.41%) in high-tier venues. The final logistic regression model showed an association of having had HIV infection with working in low-tier venues (adjusted odds ratio 2.73; 95% CI, 1.12-6.67) and coming from Guangxi Province (adjusted odds ratio, 7.89; 95% CI, 1.65-37.64). It can be concluded that FSWs working in low-tier venues (on the streets or public outdoor places) had higher risk of HIV infection than other venues. Such subgroup of FSWs should be efficiently covered by the current HIV/STD surveillance and intervention programs in China.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Syphilis has made a dramatic resurgence in China during the past two decades and become the third most prevalent notifiable infectious disease in China. Female sex workers (FSWs) have become one of key populations for the epidemic. In order to investigate syphilis infection among different tiers of FSWs, a cross-sectional study was conducted in 8 sites in China. METHODS: Serum specimens (n = 7,118) were collected to test for syphilis and questionnaire interviews were conducted to obtain socio-demographic and behavioral information among FSWs recruited from different types of venues. FSWs were categorized into three tiers (high-, middle- and low-tier FSWs) based on the venues where they solicited clients. Serum specimens were screened with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for treponemal antibody followed by confirmation with non-treponemal toluidine red unheated serum test (TRUST) for positive ELISA specimens to determine syphilis infection. A logistic regression model was used to determine factors associated with syphilis infection. RESULTS: Overall syphilis prevalence was 5.0% (95%CI, 4.5-5.5%). Low-tier FSWs had the highest prevalence (9.7%; 95%CI, 8.3-11.1%), followed by middle-tier (4.3%; 95%CI, 3.6-5.0%, P < 0.001) and high-tier FSWs (2.2%; 95%CI, 1.6-2.9%, P < 0.001). Factors independently associated with syphilis infection included older age, lower education level, geographic location, lower tier of typology, and injection drug use. CONCLUSIONS: This multi-site survey showed a high prevalence of syphilis infection among FSWs and substantial disparities in syphilis prevalence by the tier of FSWs. The difference in syphilis prevalence is substantial between different tiers of FSWs, with the highest rate among low-tier FSWs. Thus, current surveillance and intervention activities, which have low coverage in low-tier FSWs in China, should be further examined.

RESUMO

Rice is one of the most important food crops in the world, and amino acids in rice grains are major nutrition sources for the people in countries where rice is the staple food. Phytohormones and plant growth regulators play vital roles in regulating the biosynthesis of amino acids in plants. This paper reviewed the content and compositions of amino acids and their distribution in different parts of ripe rice grains, and the biosynthesis and metabolism of amino acids and their regulation by polyamines (PAs) and phytohormones in filling grains, with a focus on the roles of higher PAs (spermidine and spermine), ethylene, and brassinosteroids (BRs) in this regulation. Recent studies have shown that higher PAs and BRs (24-epibrassinolide and 28-homobrassinolide) play positive roles in mediating the biosynthesis of amino acids in rice grains, mainly by enhancing the activities of the enzymes involved in amino acid biosynthesis and sucrose-to-starch conversion and maintaining redox homeostasis. In contrast, ethylene may impede amino acid biosynthesis by inhibiting the activities of the enzymes involved in amino acid biosynthesis and elevating reactive oxygen species. Further research is needed to unravel the temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of the content and compositions of amino acids in the filling grain and their relationship with the content and compositions of amino acids in different parts of a ripe grain, to elucidate the cross-talk between or among phytohormones in mediating the anabolism of amino acids, and to establish the regulation techniques for promoting the biosynthesis of amino acids in rice grains.

RESUMO

As the global economic development intensifies the plunder of resources and the environment, the constraints are becoming more and more obvious. Based on the background of the strategy for ecological conservation and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin, this paper intends to construct a resource-environment-constrained economic growth drag effect model and a spatial Dubin model, and explore the economic growth drag effect and its spatial differences in the Yellow River Basin under the constraints of resources and environment. The study found that the total drag effects of the overall economic growth of the Yellow River Basin that were obtained by the classic panel model without spatial effects is significantly negative. This is consistent with the conclusion that the average total drag effects of 80 prefecture-level cities is negative. The total drag effects of the overall economic growth of the Yellow River Basin changes from unconstrained to medium-constrained after adding spatial constraints, indicating that the spatial correlation of factors will restrict economic growth. From the level of the Yellow River sub-catchment, the total drag effect of the direct effects of the upper, middle, and lower reaches of the Yellow River is consistent with the total drag effect of the total effect. It shows that the upper economic growth is strongly constrained by the local resources and environment, while the downstream is strongly constrained by the adjacent resources and the environment. The research results provide references for resolving the resources and environment constraints in the Yellow River Basin. It provides useful inspiration for promoting ecological protection and high-quality development strategies in the Yellow River Basin.

RESUMO

At present, there are large number of articles on the impact of COVID-19, but there are only a few articles on the impact of COVID-19 and international agriculture. Agriculture product is different from other industrial products. If domestic food cannot be self-sufficient, it must be resolved through imports. This will inevitably face the dilemma between the opening up agriculture and the risk of importing COVID-19. This paper pioneered the use of entropy method, TOPSIS method and grey correlation analysis to predict the correlation between agricultural opening to the outside world and the input and spread of COVID-19. We use the correlation matrix quantifying the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases and agricultural openness to deduce that there is a significant positive correlation between the flow of agricultural products caused by China's agricultural opening-up and the spread of COVID-19, and use the proposed matrix to predict the spread risk of COVID-19 in China. The results of the empirical analysis can provide strong evidence for decision-makers to balance the risk of COVID-19 transmission with the opening of agricultural markets, and they can take this evidence into full consideration to formulate reasonable policies. This has great implications both for preventing the spread of COVID-19 and for agricultural opening-up.
