RESUMO

Direct site-selective and enantioselective oxyfunctionalization of C(sp3)-H bonds to form alcohols with a general scope, with predictable selectivities, and in preparatively useful yields represents a paradigm shift in the standard logic of synthetic organic chemistry. However, the knowledge of either enzymatic or nonenzymatic asymmetric hydroxylation of tertiary C-H bonds for enantioenriched tertiary alcohol synthesis is sorely lacking. Here, we report a practical manganese-catalyzed enantio-differentiating hydroxylation of tertiary propargylic C-H bonds in acyclic systems, producing a wide range of structurally diverse enantioenriched tertiary propargyl alcohols in high efficiency with extremely efficient chemo- and enantio-discrimination. Other features include the use of C-H substrates as the limiting reagent, noteworthy functional group compatibility, great synthetic utilities, and scalability. The findings serve as a blueprint for the development of metal-catalyzed asymmetric oxidation of challenging substrates.

RESUMO

An efficient and practical one-pot synthesis of isoindolines from readily available starting materials was achieved under mild conditions by implementing an isoindole umpolung strategy. A variety of isoindolines were prepared with good to excellent yields. Biological screens of these identified compounds demonstrated that they are potent potentiators of colistin for multi-drug resistant Acinetobacter baumannii.

RESUMO

This study aimed to assess the effectiveness and safety of robot-assisted versus fluoroscopy-assisted pedicle screw implantation in scoliosis surgery. The study was registered in the PROSPERO (CRD42023471837). Two independent researchers searched PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure. The outcomes included operation time, pedicle screw implantation time, blood loss, number of fluoroscopic, accuracy of pedicle screw position, hospital stays, postoperative hospital stays, Visual Analog Scale (VAS), Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) score, Scoliosis Research Society-22(SRS-22), cobb angle, cobb angle correction rate, sagittal vertical axis (SVA), and complications. Eight papers involving 473 patients met all the criteria. There was no significant difference between the two groups regarding the reduction in operation time. The effect of reducing the pedicle screw implantation time in the RA group was significant (WMD = -1.28; 95% CI: -1.76 to -0.80; P < 0.00001). The effect of reducing the blood loss in the RA group was significant (WMD=-105.57; 95% CI: -206.84 to -4.31; P = 0.04). The effect of reducing the number of fluoroscopic in the RA group was significant (WMD=-5.93; 95% CI: -8.24 to -3.62; P < ). The pedicle screw position of Grade A was significantly more in the RA group according to both the Gertzbein-Robbins scale and the Rampersaud scale. Compared with the FA group, the difference in the hospital stays in the RA group was not statistically significant, but the effect of reducing the postoperative hospital stays in the RA group was significant (WMD = -2.88; 95% CI: -4.13 to -1.63; P < 0.00001). The difference in the VAS, JOA, SRS-22, Cobb angle and Cobb angle correction rate, SVA, and complications between the two groups was not statistically significant. The robot-assisted technique achieved statistically significant results in terms of pedicle screw placement time, blood loss, number of fluoroscopies, accuracy of pedicle screw position, and postoperative hospital stay.

RESUMO

Wood surface broken defects seriously damage the structure of wooden products, these defects have to be detected and eliminated. However, current defect detection methods based on machine vision have difficulty distinguishing the interference, similar to the broken defects, such as stains and mineral lines, and can result in frequent false detections. To address this issue, a multi-source data fusion network based on U-Net is proposed for wood broken defect detection, combining image and depth data, to suppress the interference and achieve complete segmentation of the defects. To efficiently extract various semantic information of defects, an improved ResNet34 is designed to, respectively, generate multi-level features of the image and depth data, in which the depthwise separable convolution (DSC) and dilated convolution (DC) are introduced to decrease the computational expense and feature redundancy. To take full advantages of two types of data, an adaptive interacting fusion module (AIF) is designed to adaptively integrate them, thereby generating accurate feature representation of the broken defects. The experiments demonstrate that the multi-source data fusion network can effectively improve the detection accuracy of wood broken defects and reduce the false detections of interference, such as stains and mineral lines.

RESUMO

Sequential C-H functionalization of molecules containing multiple C-H bonds can efficiently lead to structural diversity. Herein we present the first chelation-assisted sequential α-/ß-C-H functionalization of E-styrenes with simple alkenes and alkynes in excellent regio- and stereo-selectivity. The process involves α C-H functionalization by six-membered exo-cyclopalladation to result in tri- and tetrasubstituted 1,3-dienes and ß C-H functionalization through seven-membered endo-cyclopalladation to produce tetra- and pentasubstituted 1,3,5-trienes in up to 97 % yield with up to >99/1 E/Z selectivity, both enabled by the chelation assistance of pyrazinamide. The protocol is demonstrated to be widely applicable, tolerant to a wide range of functional groups and bioactive fragments, and suitable for gram-scale synthesis as well as one-pot and two step preparation of trienes. Mechanistic experiments and density functional theory (DFT) calculations were performed to elucidate the selectivity and reactivity.

RESUMO

Aryl alkenes represents one of the most widely occurring structural motif in countless drugs and natural products, and direct C-H functionalization of aryl alkenes provides atom- step efficient access toward valuable analogues. Among them, group-directed selective olefinic α- and ß-C-H functionalization, bearing a directing group on the aromatic ring, has attracted remarkable attentions, including alkynylation, alkenylation, amino-carbonylation, cyanation, domino cyclization and so on. These transformations proceed by endo- and exo-C-H cyclometallation and provide aryl alkene derivatives in excellent site- stereo-selectivity. Enantio-selective α- and ß- olefinic C-H functionalization were also covered to synthesis axially chiral styrenes.

RESUMO

During pregnancy many women may experience negative emotions and sleep disturbances. This systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted to assess the efficacy of cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) or sleep disturbance in pregnant women. From the earliest available publications to 15 April 2022, seven electronic literature databases were searched: PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Embase, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Data, and VIP Database for Chinese Science and Technology Journal. Randomised controlled trials of CBT-I in pregnant women with insomnia or sleep disorders were included. The methodological bias of the included studies was assessed using the Cochrane risk of bias tool. The meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.4 software. Stata Statistical Software: Release 15 was used for sensitivity analysis and publication bias. We included eight randomised controlled trials involving 743 pregnant women. Meta-analysis showed that, compared with the control group, CBT-I significantly improved the Insomnia Severity Index (mean difference [MD] = -4.25, 95% confidence interval [CI, -6.32, -2.19], p < 0.001), The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (MD = -3.30, 95% CI [-4.81, -1.79], p < 0.001), sleep onset latency (standardised mean difference [SMD] = -1.25, 95% CI [-2.01, -0.50], p = 0.001), anxiety (SMD = -0.99, 95% CI [-1.32, -0.67], p < 0.001), and depression (SMD = -0.40, 95% CI [-0.72, -0.07], p = 0.02). No significant differences were found in total sleep time (SMD = 0.31, 95% CI [-0.54, 1.17], p = 0.47) and sleep efficiency (SMD = 0.80, 95% CI [-0.53, 2.13], p = 0.24). CBT-I significantly improved pregnant women's sleep quality, insomnia severity, depression, and anxiety. This meta-analysis provides evidence that CBT-I is valid for insomnia or sleep disturbances during pregnancy.

RESUMO

Corynespora leaf spot, which is caused by Corynespora cassiicola (Berk. & M. A. Curtis) C.T. Wei (C. cassiicola), has been globally reported in many plant species. 'Hongyang' was reported as highly sensitive kiwifruit cultivar to C. cassiicola. This cultivar is an important germplasm resource in the Actinidiaceae family and is widely cultivated throughout China. Even though C. cassiicola has been identified as the pathogen associated with kiwifruits in China, the C. cassiicola population from kiwifruit has not been characterized based on morphology, phylogeny, and pathogenicity. In this study, 133 and 48 representative C. cassiicola isolates from kiwifruit and 11 other hosts, respectively, recovered from symptomatic leaves were classified into eight morphological subgroups based on host origins. Using three loci (rDNA ITS, caa5, and act1), a phylogenetic tree showed that C. cassiicola isolates in Sichuan Province were grouped into three clades. All kiwifruit isolates were genetically identical to the rubber isolates from different countries. However, most isolates from other hosts in this study were genetically identical to the cucumber, soybean, and cowpea isolates in China, Brazil, and the United States, and two strawberry isolates clustered with isolates from tomato and other hosts in China, Brazil, and the United States. Furthermore, we confirmed host shift of C. cassiicola among different plant species in this study. Although 51 isolates from kiwifruit and different hosts were pathogenic to kiwifruit, blueberry, cucumber, and soybean, virulence levels of the pathogen were diverse for four hosts. Kiwifruit isolates exhibited host specificity with regards to the original host in degree. In addition, those isolates revealed a correlation between morphology and pathogenicity. The results suggest that C. cassiicola in Sichuan Province were derived from three different phylogenetic lineages. Promotion of the susceptible 'Hongyang' cultivar led to the emergence of a regnant C. cassiicola population from kiwifruit. In conclusion, rapid development of the C. cassiicola-sensitive crop in agricultural systems led to the emergence of a regnant C. cassiicola population. In some dominant populations (e.g., the C. cassiicola population from kiwifruit in this study), host origin was found to be a key factor influencing the morphologic, genetic, and pathogenic characterization of C. cassiicola.

RESUMO

CONTEXT: di-(2-Ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) has potential reproductive toxicity. Bu-Shen-Tian-Jing formulations (BSTJFs) are beneficial for female reproductive capacity. However, BSTJF2 has much lower cytotoxicity than BSTJF1. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of BSTJFs on ovarian granulosa cells exposed to DEHP and determine the potential molecular mechanisms. METHODS AND MATERIALS: Human granulosa-like tumor cell line (KGN) cells were divided into control, DEHP, BSTJF1 and BSTJF2 groups. The DEHP group were given 1 µM DEHP for 24 h. They were then given BSTJF1 at 200 µg/mL or BSTJF2 at 100 µg/mL for 24 h. The control group was treated with the same concentration of DMSO (0.1%). Oxidative stress and mitochondrial function were measured. The mRNA and protein expression levels of HDAC3 and HSP90AA were determined. Integrative network pharmacology analysis of BSTJF2 was also performed. RESULTS: DEHP (1 µM) significantly suppressed the proliferation of KGN cells by 17%, significantly increased ROS levels by 28% and MDA levels by 47%, significantly decreased MMP levels by 22% and mtDNA copy by 30%. DEHP significantly increased protein expression of HDAC3 by 21%and HSP90AA by 64%. All these changes were significantly reversed by BSTJFs. Integrative network pharmacology analysis revealed HSP90AA was a key target (degree = 8). Both RGFP966 and BSTJF2 significantly reversed the increased expression of HDAC3 and HSP90AA, attenuated oxidative stress, and mitochondrial damage which were induced by DEHP. CONCLUSION: BSTJFs might have therapeutic potential on oxidative stress and mitochondrial damage through the HDAC3/HSP90AA pathway which encourages further clinical trials.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: To establish and validate a radiomics model based on multi-sequence magnetic resonance (MR) images for preoperative prediction of immunoscore in rectal cancer. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This retrospective study included 133 patients with pathologically confirmed rectal cancer after surgical resection who underwent MR examination before treatment within two weeks. All patients were randomly divided into training cohort (n = 92) and validation (n = 41) cohort according to a ratio of 7:3. The volumes of interest were manually delineated in the T2-weighted images (T2WI) and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) images, from which a total of 804 radiomics features were extracted. Thereafter, we used Spearman correlation analysis and gradient boosting decision tree (GBDT) algorithm to select the strongest features, and the radiomics scores were established using multivariate logistic regression algorithm, including two single-mode models and two dual-mode models. The predictive performance and the clinical usefulness of the model were assessed by the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve, calibration curve and decision curve analysis (DCA). RESULTS: Integrated model A based on T2WI and ADC images showed a better predictive performance, which yielded an AUC of 0.770 (95% CI 0.673-0.867) in the training cohort and 0.768 (95% CI 0.619-0.917) in the validation cohort. Calibration curve showed good agreement between predicted results of the model and actual events, and DCA indicated good clinical usefulness. Moreover, stratification analysis proved that the integrated model A had strong robustness. CONCLUSIONS: Integrated model A based on T2WI and ADC images has the potential to be used as a non-invasive tool for preoperative prediction of immunoscore in rectal cancer. It may be useful in evaluating prognosis and guiding individualized immunotherapy of patients.

RESUMO

In the domain of network science, the future link between nodes is a significant problem in social network analysis. Recently, temporal network link prediction has attracted many researchers due to its valuable real-world applications. However, the methods based on network structure similarity are generally limited to static networks, and the methods based on deep neural networks often have high computational costs. This paper fully mines the network structure information and time-domain attenuation information, and proposes a novel temporal link prediction method. Firstly, the network collective influence (CI) method is used to calculate the weights of nodes and edges. Then, the graph is divided into several community subgraphs by removing the weak link. Moreover, the biased random walk method is proposed, and the embedded representation vector is obtained by the modified Skip-gram model. Finally, this paper proposes a novel temporal link prediction method named TLP-CCC, which integrates collective influence, the community walk features, and the centrality features. Experimental results on nine real dynamic network data sets show that the proposed method performs better for area under curve (AUC) evaluation compared with the classical link prediction methods.

RESUMO

The microorganisms inhabiting the gastrointestinal tract play important roles in many host physiological processes, including the absorption and metabolism of nutrients and immune function. The Amur tiger (Panthera tigris altaica) is listed by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as a threatened species. Efforts are underway to breed Amur tigers under artificial settings to preserve this rare species. To maximize the imitation of the diet that this species consumes in the wild, the diet in the present study was composed of a variety of raw meats and was administered with regular fasting. In view of the important roles that the microbiota play in the host, in the present study, the microbiota of Amur tigers at three different ages were investigated. The results showed that the microbial diversity and richness decreased with age. Principal coordinate analysis showed significant differences among the three age groups. Linear discriminant analysis (LDA) of effect size (LEfSe) demonstrated the enrichment of the genus unclassified_f__Ruminococcaceae, genus Coprococcus_1, genus Ruminococcus__gauvreauii_group, family unclassified_o__Clostridiales and genus unclassified_o__Clostridiales in the JB group (1- year old) and the enrichment of the genus Catenisphaera in the AB group (over 4-year old). The results of the present study demonstrated the adaptation of the microbiota in captive Amur tigers to a diet similar to the one they consume in the wild. Furthermore, these results may reflect the microbiota of wild Amur tigers to a certain extent.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The COVID-19 has caused a sizeable global outbreak and has been declared as a public health emergency of international concern. Sufficient evidence shows that temperature has an essential link with respiratory infectious diseases. The objectives of this study were to describe the exposure-response relationship between ambient temperature, including extreme temperatures, and mortality of COVID-19. METHODS: The Poisson distributed lag non-linear model (DLNM) was constructed to evaluate the non-linear delayed effects of ambient temperature on death, by using the daily new death of COVID-19 and ambient temperature data from January 10 to March 31, 2020, in Wuhan, China. RESULTS: During the period mentioned above, the average daily number of COVID-19 deaths was approximately 45.2. Poisson distributed lag non-linear model showed that there was a non-linear relationship (U-shape) between the effect of ambient temperature and mortality. With confounding factors controlled, the daily cumulative relative death risk decreased by 12.3% (95% CI [3.4, 20.4%]) for every 1.0 °C increase in temperature. Moreover, the delayed effects of the low temperature are acute and short-term, with the most considerable risk occurring in 5-7 days of exposure. The delayed effects of the high temperature appeared quickly, then decrease rapidly, and increased sharply 15 days of exposure, mainly manifested as acute and long-term effects. Sensitivity analysis results demonstrated that the results were robust. CONCLUSIONS: The relationship between ambient temperature and COVID-19 mortality was non-linear. There was a negative correlation between the cumulative relative risk of death and temperature. Additionally, exposure to high and low temperatures had divergent impacts on mortality.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: At the end of 2019, the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) severely damaged and endangered people's lives. The public health emergency management system in China has played an essential role in handling the response to the outbreak, which has been appreciated by the World Health Organization and some countries. Hence, it is necessary to conduct an overall analysis of the development of the health emergency management system in China. This can provide a reference for scholars to aid in understanding the current situation and to reveal new research topics. METHODS: We collected 2247 international articles from the Web of Science database and 959 Chinese articles from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure database. Bibliometric and mapping knowledge domain analysis methods were used in this study for temporal distribution analysis, cooperation network analysis, and co-word network analysis. RESULTS: The first international article in this field was published in 1991, while the first Chinese article was published in 2005. The research institutions producing these studies mainly existed in universities and health organizations. Developed countries and European countries published the most articles overall, while eastern China published the most articles within China. There were 52 burst words for international articles published from 1999-2018 and 18 burst words for Chinese articles published from 2003-2018. International top-ranked articles according to the number of citations appeared in 2005, 2007, 2009, 2014, 2015, and 2016, while the corresponding Chinese articles appeared in 2003, 2004, 2009, and 2011. CONCLUSIONS: There are differences in the regional and economic distribution of international and Chinese cooperation networks. International research is often related to timely issues mainly by focusing on emergency preparedness and monitoring of public health events, while China has focused on public health emergencies and their disposition. International research began on terrorism and bioterrorism, followed by disaster planning and emergency preparedness, epidemics, and infectious diseases. China considered severe acute respiratory syndrome as the starting research background and the legal system construction as the research starting point, which was followed by the mechanism, structure, system, and training abroad for public health emergency management.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: To evaluate the psychometric properties of the Mandarin Chinese version of KIDSCREEN-52 health-related quality of life (HRQOL) questionnaire. METHODS: We conducted a cross-sectional study with two cohorts of school-based data in the urban areas of Weifang, China. 4385 and 841 representative adolescents aged 11-17 years have recruited into the baseline and test-retest group, respectively. Psychometric analyses included feasibility, item and dimension properties, reliability, construct validity, measurement invariance, convergent and discriminant validity, and known-group validity. RESULTS: The response rates of both baseline and test-retest surveys were more than 90%. Low missing values were found (0.02-1.92%) across ten dimensions. The measurement properties of items were satisfactory. Noteworthy ceiling effects were observed for ten dimensions (6.75-31.84%), while the observed floor effects were negligible (0.02-1.37%). Internal consistency was robust with Cronbach's alpha (0.819-0.959), while the test-retest reliability was acceptable with the ICCs (0.724-0.849). Confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the ten-dimensional structure and supported the configural and metric invariance across gender and age groups. The Pearson correlation coefficients between the KIDSCREEN-52 and the PedsQL™ 4.0 were stronger in comparable dimensions than those in less comparable dimensions, demonstrating the convergent and discriminant validity. In most dimensions, statistically significant and medium or large effect size differences were found across socioeconomic and mental health status, supporting the known-group validity. CONCLUSION: These findings demonstrate that the Mandarin Chinese version of KIDSCREEN-52 seems to work well in a Chinese context, and is a psychometrically valid and reliable HRQOL instrument.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The video laryngoscope is recommended for intubating difficult airways. The present study aimed to determine whether the video laryngoscope can further improve intubation success rates compared with the direct laryngoscope in patients with non-difficult airways. METHODS: In total, 360 patients scheduled for elective abdominal surgeries were randomly assigned to undergo intubation using either a video laryngoscope (n = 179) or a direct laryngoscope (n = 181). The following parameters were measured: mouth opening; thyromental distance; sternomental distance; shape angle of the tracheal catheter; and glottic exposure grade. RESULTS: The percentage of patients with level I-II of total glottic exposure in the video laryngoscope group was 100% versus 63.5% in the direct laryngoscope group (P < 0.001). The one-attempt success rate of intubation was 96.1% using a video laryngoscope versus 90.1% using a direct laryngoscope (P = 0.024). The intubation success rate using a video laryngoscope was 100% versus 94.5% using a direct laryngoscope (P = 0.004). Immediate oropharyngeal injury occurred in 5.1% of patients intubated using a direct laryngoscope versus 1.1% using a video laryngoscope (P = 0.033). On postoperative day 1, obvious hoarseness was exhibited by 7.9% of patients intubated using a direct laryngoscope versus 2.8% using a video laryngoscope (P = 0.035). The grade of glottic exposure and catheter shape angle were independent risk factors for tracheal intubation failure. Thyromental distance, shape angle, glottic exposure time, and surgical position were independent risk factors for postoperative complications. Thyromental distance and glottic exposure time were independent risk factors for complications lasting > 2 days. CONCLUSIONS: Intubation using a video laryngoscope yielded significantly higher intubation success rates and significantly fewer postoperative complications than direct laryngoscopy in patients with non-difficult airways. RESUMO

Magnetic plasmons (MPs) refer to the coupling of external electromagnetic waves with a strong magnetic response induced inside the nanostructures. MPs have been widely employed as artificial magnetic atoms to fabricate negative-permeability or negative-refractive-index metamaterials with peculiar electromagnetic properties. Here, we propose a refractive index sensing by utilizing the MP resonances excited in a simple one-dimensional (1D) metallic nanogroove array. We demonstrate a sensitivity up to 1200 nm/RIU with a figure of merit (FOM*) of 15 thanks to the MP resonances that are extremely sensitive to the surrounding media. Importantly, the influence of the local environment effects on the sensing ability is studied. An equivalent inductor-capacitor (LC) model is used to give a precise quantitative description of the sensing performance and reveal the underlying mechanism. Such a MP-based sensor with the ease of fabrication may provide great potentials in designing broadband sensing devices with high performance and compactness.

RESUMO

We theoretically study the mode energy of graphene plasmons and its fundamental role in determining the local field magnitudes. While neglecting the magnetic field energy of the mode, we derive a concise expression for the total mode energy, which is independent on the details of the mode field distributions and valid for both propagating and localized modes. We find that the mean square of the local electric fields of a graphene plasmonic mode scales linearly with the light absorption rate of the mode and the electron relaxation time of graphene. The possible strategies for improving the local field magnitudes of graphene plasmons are also discussed. Our theoretical analysis presented here may benefit the design of various graphene-based optical and optoelectronic devices for light-harvesting or energy conversion.

RESUMO

Cognitive impairment (CI) is a mental disorder related to cognition and understanding, which is mainly categorized into mild CI and senile dementia. This disease is associated with multiple factors, such as chronic brain injury, aging, chronic systemic disease, mental state, and psychological factors. However, the pathological mechanism of CI remains unclear; it is usually associated with such underlying diseases as diabetes and hyperlipidemia. It has been demonstrated that abundant lipid metabolism indexes in the human body are closely related to CI, including total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglycerides, apolipoprotein, and so forth. As a crucial risk factor for CI, hyperlipidemia is of great significance in the occurrence and development of CI. However, the specific correlation between dyslipidemia and CI is still not fully elucidated. Besides, the efficacy of lipid-lowering drugs in the prophylaxis and treatment of CI has not been clarified. In this study, relevant advances in the influence of lipid metabolism disorders in CI will be reviewed, in an attempt to explore the effect of mediating blood lipid levels on the prophylaxis and treatment of CI, thus providing a reference for its clinical management.
